Absolute Visionary!
Lindsey and her team did an incredible job! We are from out of state and Lindsey was so accommodating! She was willing to meet with us well in advance since we had to travel. On the day of, my wife and I had a vision of what we wanted and Lindsey took it and turned it into more than we could've imagined! Our big day was amazing and could not have done it with Lindsey and her awesome team! Highly recommend! -

My Fairytale Wedding

Downer Wedding
Lindsey made my vision a reality. I wanted a simple yet elegant wedding with eucalyptus (all inspired by my Pinterest page which she reviewed). Not only did she do a fabulous job with the day of wedding coordination and decoration but she also did a stunning job on my floral arrangements including an arbor! Tyler and I both were so pleased with Lindsey and her team. I would highly recommend her for your wedding florals as well as wedding coordination and decorations!

Very helpful to work with!
Lindsey did all the decorating for our destination wedding. She used a combination of decor items she had and some I brought as well. She created a detailed document to keep track of all of my requests, which was really helpful because I could add and modify details as I thought of things. We had many compliments that our wedding was absolutely beautiful and that would not have been possible with Lindsey setting everything up for us!-

Worth the Money
Lindsey helped the vision I had in mind for my wedding decor come to life. She made suggestions and answered my many questions. It definitely would have been a more stressful process without her. Mindy and Shelly were my “day of” coordinators and decorators, and they did a phenomenal job. They were so nice and worked so hard! Having them there took a lot of stress off me and my guests. I had many people comment on how seamlessly the day went and that is thanks in part (a lot of part) to them!! ❤️ -

Lindsey Mae All The Way
When planning a wedding amidst a pandemic, there are apparent fears and the typical nerves associated with getting married. I was encouraged to search for a wedding planner before the pandemic, and I came across Lindsey, who I had never heard of because I was not local to the area. After meeting her for the first time, it was clear that her knowledge would make the best day of my life as smooth as possible. While there are so many things I could say about Lindsey and this process, I want to highlight that she is a needed and calm presence throughout the process and on your wedding day. I wouldn't consider myself an overly involved bride, and Lindsey respected my pace and was never pushy. However, she is timely, professional, and "about her business." You tell her your ideas, and she manages to make magic. I never questioned her timeline or her assurance with anything during the process. As a "long-distance bride" from my wedding planner, there are also nerves about how everything will come together, and let me tell you, Lindsey did not disappoint me in any way. Trust me, I am not one to write a lengthy review on anything, but she pulled through. I could not have imagined enduring rehearsal without her; she has everything prepped without question. Lindsey relieved so much stress from my family on the wedding day, as she ensured that every detail I had requested was fulfilled. I could not be happier with my decision to use Lindsey as my wedding planner, and on your wedding day, she even brings the sweetest helpers to guarantee a perfect day. I am so appreciative and grateful, and I would highly recommend using Lindsey Mae Design and Events! -

Brookfield Wedding 11/3/18
Lindsey did a lot of the signage and the decorations for our wedding and she captured my vision perfectly! She was wonderful to work with and everything came out wonderful down to the smallest details. She truly made sure that all of the décor we were looking for was exactly as we’d hoped it would be. Lindsey has an eye for design. She made our ceremony and reception look beautiful. She was also very quick to respond when I had questions (even though she had a newborn baby). She also helped me stay in my budget by giving me tips on vendors and ways to get around using vendors. She also has a million beautiful things you can use for decorations. Lindsey was a true blessing in helping us both on our special day and doing some initial planning. She has the absolute most amazing demeanor and professionalism. We used a beautiful but new rustic venue along with multiple vendors and musicians; Lindsey pulled our day off without any difficulty. My entire family (we have multiple recent weddings) remarked how wonderful it was to work with Lindsey but also how well she coordinated our whole day, down to the last detail. Lindsey is so creative and thorough. Even if you have worked on planning, she will catch things that you would not have thought of! She is great with taking a not so pretty space and making it absolutely beautiful! Leading up to our wedding Lindsey was a huge help! Because our wedding was out of state it was so helpful to have someone who knew the area and could locate potential vendors for us. She was always willing to talk things through with me and talk me "off the ledge" when wedding planning got stressful! I am so glad I chose Lindsey to help with my big day. We have known her a while outside of her business, but I had never really got to sit down and just chat with her. Lindsey has the knowledge and style to assist with any wedding and a calming presence that helps so much. As the mother of the bride, I was feeling a little frazzled until Lindsey walked in. She ensures everything is where is should be, that everyone has what they need and when you break one of the boutonnieres (oh no!) she fixes it! She always made sure the bride was happy with every touch and gave very useful advice. She had the reception set up and looking perfect for us and sent me some photos ahead of time to reassure us that all was going well at the reception venue. She was organized and keep everything running smoothly without us feeling rushed. So many things that I would have overlooked - she just took care of for us. It's like having a fairy godmother around!!! I highly recommend Lindsey - she is great! -

When we decided last minute to plan a small winter wedding and wanted to get married in 2 weeks I had no idea where to begin!! Lindsey was perfect for the job. Lackluster Coordinating
I was required by my venue to hire a planner, which I felt was excessive given the small size of my event. I interviewed both who were recommended, and unfortunately, allowed a small price difference sway my decision. I did opt for a package that was minimal as I had already contacted many of the vendors recommended by the venue, and being quite a distance from the area, knew meeting on multiple occasions would not be feasible. Initial contact with Lindsey was fine, there was some back and forth attempting to reach other, but that is understandable. Once I made the initial payment, she quickly set up the digital platform where we could communicate rather easily and share information. Planning time was limited as the event occurred in just 9 weeks following our initial contact. When I initiated contact and inquired about services, she was knowledgeable and was able to point me in the right direction and offered to create 2 bouquets and boutonnières for the event for a reasonable fee. Nearing the event, she also offered to pick up cupcakes in Knoxville because I hadn’t asked much of her (her words) in terms of planning. My hope was that the day would run smoothly with someone directing the activities and my mind could be at ease knowing someone was there to manage the hiccups and details. That is where the interaction turned sour. Lindsey was at a larger wedding at a neighboring venue, so one of her assistants was sent to facilitate our event. While she was friendly and attempted to be helpful, she caused far more stress.. From her arrival, she repeatedly told me to direct her where I needed help. I was fine with this as a few last minute items needed handled such as chairs being set up by the event planner for the venue (this was 4:30 and our guests were arriving at 5) and candles lit, specifically a small table outside with pictures of our parents who have passed. Just before I am getting ready to walk down the aisle, she informs me that there was a miscommunication with the scheduling of the caterer and he was going to be an hour late and was slated to arrive as we were saying our vows. She communicated with him to wait to carry the food in until the ceremony was complete. I believe he arrived earlier than planned as hors d’oeuvres were available for guests following the ceremony. Following the ceremony while having pictures taken I notice the candles on the small table outside had not been lit, and the DJ and violinist are approaching me for direction versus receiving any direction from the assistant. Once I am finished with photos, I head inside to find that the food is still being transferred to the servers, which is fine, but guests are snagging cupcakes from our stand prior to us cutting the cake with her and the event coordinator standing in the kitchen chatting with the caterer. I let her know about the cupcake situation and communicate with guests to wait on the cupcakes. At this time, additional guests arrive who did not have seats, so case in point of a situation she could have handled if she had been out of the kitchen would have been grabbing the extra chairs, but instead I had to move the chairs to the table. I visited with guests, had more pictures taken, touched base with my family and headed back to the kitchen/serving area to find the assistant and event planner still standing in the kitchen doing nothing productive or helpful. At this point frustration has set in. I asked if I could get a plate for my son as he was hungry following the hubbub of the day, to which I was told that the caterer wouldn’t be serving dinner for another half hour and food setup was not included, so they were doing me a favor transferring and setting up the servers, again he appeared to be the only one accomplishing anything. Food is coming out when I noticed the beef tenderloin is on the table with the salad and butter and rolls are on the table with the remainder of the food, so I asked (assistant and venue coordinator) three times if they could be moved. Following the third request, I finally moved them myself, dress and all, to which they replied I should’ve asked. I’m sorry, I did three times. As this was occurring, guests are still eating cupcakes without any intervention on her part. Dinner is finally ready to be served, which was wonderful, however I had to direct the DJ to announce to our guests that dinner was ready while she is in the kitchen still chatting with the event coordinator. We were the last to get food although it was our wedding and while eating the DJ approaches me about our dances, so again I am directing the activity. By this point, half of our cupcakes have been eaten, and we haven’t cut the cake. We have our dances and continue on trying to enjoy the remainder of the evening. By this point I’m exhausted and flustered, so my mind is not thinking about the events of the evening. When the night ends and our guests are helping clean up, one mentions that we never cut our cake! In the midst of everything, and in spite of having a planner, our cake did not get cut. My thought was that planners were there to make the event run smoothly and ensure that things such as cutting the cake actually happen because the bride is on overload, but that was not the case. Throughout the night, the assistant would approach me asking what I needed or wanted her to do, when honestly I needed her to know what to do. As a wedding planner, my assumption is you would take initiative, see what needs to be done, take care of those details, and direct the activities. I am not sure if it was due to a lack of training, confidence, or both, but she seemed lost and unsure as to what to do. While I know I didn’t spend thousands of dollars, I was hoping that for the price I did pay, the quality of service wouldn’t have left me with more stress and an additional person asking for direction on an already busy, overwhelming day. -

Service was minimal at best and borderline painful in parts.
If I had to summarize our experience with Lindsey Mae Events & Designs I would say it was absolutely minimal at best and borderline painful in parts. Prior to the wedding we met with Lindsey several times. That part was adequate however, we had a few concerns because it didn't feel like she was asking us many questions or giving us much guidance about what was going to happen. We hoped though because of the price we were paying and because of other reviews that the day of everything would come together. When the wedding day came around though the experience was truly terrible and that really could be considered an understatement. Overall, Lindsey's crew was generally unavailable and we had to double check everything they did. They arrived after every other vendor and were rushing to finish the decor. We only had a few specific requests but they didn't even get those right. My groomsmen and I ended up coordinating the vendors which meant I didn't get to even sit down once before the wedding started. To give an example of one of their many careless mistakes, they put our wedding programs on the table going into the reception instead of going into the ceremony. When we were scheduled to enter the reception they were down at the reception eating and helping themselves to the open bar. Our photographer had to run down the hill and coordinate with the DJ. At the cake cutting I had to coordinate everyone because they were not there. They had already begun to clean up their decor while we were up the hill cutting the cake. At the end of the day many things were left undone including turning off the propane heaters. I had to make sure things were correctly cleaned up because they left before we did. This review may be long however, it truly is only a short summary of the ways they failed us on our wedding day. Since the wedding we have even heard from our other vendors more stories about the ways the coordinators failed on their responsibilities. The thing that was most difficult though is that we hired Lindsey Mae Events & Designs so our friends didn't have to serve at our wedding but because of Lindsey and associates it ended up being the complete opposite. Thankful, despite all of their failures, because of our friends and other vendors we still had a great time at our wedding. -

Only thing I would have changed about my wedding
I hired a coordinator in the hopes of making my day less stressful but instead it added to my stress and ended up in embarrassment. My guest commented on their unprofessional appearance and lack of work ethic. They disregarded the reception layout I gave them. They also told me they didn’t have my seating arrangement 20 minutes before I walked down the isle because it wouldnt print. I immediately wrote it on paper for them and they went ahead and seated empty plates for guest that didn’t come after I told them previously to ignore the extra name tags packed. I kept getting asked where the missing people were and if they were coming, people were weirdly spaced out and it left barely any room for me to walk between the tables. I also hired them for clean up so that my guest wouldn’t have to yet they announced for my guest to carry their own chairs back from the ceremony. Once the event was over I was told by the venue the area needed to be swept and mopped for me to get my security deposit back. She brushed it off and my guest jumped in and mopped my venue. She didn’t even have my name right on her wedding binder lol. I was her third wedding in a row so overall I felt like I wasn’t listened to or cared about and that I was just a number in her books. -

Wouldn’t Recommend
I booked with Lindsey Mae Events probably 8-9 months before my wedding outside of Charlotte NC after posting about needing a coordinator on a Charlotte wedding Facebook group. I had a couple of FaceTime calls with them as I was doing my decor and flowers through them as well. I had to text reminders for them to update the color scheme on the canva that they were keeping track of everything on. The hurricane happened and impacted western NC, which would have been the route that they’d take to get to my venue, so they cancelled on me two weeks before my wedding. I’m usually super understanding and it would have been a completely different story if they were directly impacted by it, but the reasoning was that they didn’t feel comfortable coming to a part of North Carolina that wasn’t even impacted by the hurricane. A quick google search from their address to our venue told me that there was an alternate route that would take them through southern VA and then back down to NC. I honestly felt like they dropped the ball on my wedding and were looking for a way out, especially because they were doing “month of” services and I heard nothing from them a month before my wedding until they cancelled on me two weeks before. They also kept half of my deposit which doesn’t seem fair considering they were the ones cancelling on me due to not being comfortable to travel to my venue. I ended up finding another coordinator who also did my decor and provided so much advice & support, so I feel as if this was meant to happen because I don’t think my wedding wouldn’t have gone as smoothly with them there. -

Can find better day of coordinators
hired Lindsey to be my Day of Coordinator as my venue recommended her and would not allow me to have my ceremony at the venue without a Day of coordinator. Approximately, two months before my wedding when I reached out to her asking about my timeline etc for my day because she had not reached out to me yet. She said another bride had rescheduled on my same day and has decided to give me her assistant. That’s fine, I understand weddings get rescheduled due to Covid BUT this company only wants your money. I had to reach out to her assistant multiple times vis email to figure out my day of schedule for my wedding and how long the assistant would be there etc. Then the assistant surprised me the night before when I was doing rehearsal and told me, my grandfather and other family members that because there were three other weddings in the area she was going to be at my wedding at 10:30am til 4:30pm (6 hours) as the other wedding near my venue started at 4pm. I was fine with that, it didn’t matter as my wedding started at 2pm. The morning came and the assistant did not show up at 10:30am, she finally showed up around 12:20pm and went directly to me saying that her being there at 10:30am was not what was in my contract, that she was suppose to be there at 12:30pm. Which would have been true if she had not changed it the night before. Maybe she misspoke but multiple people heard her and confirmed she said 10:30am. My ceremony ended up starting 40 minutes late and on top of this, the assistant brought her own assistant. The assistant to Lindsey did not stay the whole time at my wedding and left multiple times to go attend to the other wedding close by. Lindsey’s assistant did get my girls down the aisle and made my husband and I a plate of food but I ended up setting up my first dance on my own and other things. If it had not been for VE videography helping me, nothing I wanted to get done would have been done on my special day. The assistant’s assistant stayed til 6:30pm but just stood in a corner and did nothing. I was suppose to say my vows with my husband on our own before the parent dances, that the day of coordinator was going to set up but neither of them did and I missed getting to do that. Lindsey’s assistant did not stay til 6:30pm (6hours) which was originally planned but the assistant assistants stayed. I missed out on important things I wanted to do at my wedding because of this. They were all in over their heads and would have been better off not being selfish and letting me know they could not longer do my wedding and I would get a refund and find someone else. Completely disappointed. Future brides that hire this company, PLEASE make sure to ask important questions such as “what happens if someone rescheduled their wedding on my day?” And “will I be getting uninterrupted attention on my big day by Lindsey”. -

Horrible experience
Not Recommended!! Was given half dead flowers and not the type per contract. I hired Lindsay Mae for my bridal bouquet , bridesmaids bouquet (3) , and the mens boutonnieres (4). She had texted me a few days before with a picture of my bouquet which looked nothing like I wanted. We communicated and she redid it and sent me follow up pictures and it looked great. I did question that the flowers were not open yet which she told me they would be by Sunday. When I saw they arrived at the venue I was so disappointed. Nothing was right, color, type of flowers or style even my bouquet was not what she sent me a picture of. The stems were so thick in circumference and sticking out everywhere, even the wire she used to tie them together cut my hand. I asked for a cascading style and I got a bunch of flowers just tied together. Also in my contract I wanted a specific type of rose which I did not get. I got full pink roses. The white roses were not even white they were a greenish color. Also the bridesmaids were not supposed to have peonies in theirs only mine (to set it apart) and they were added to all 4. The overall condition of the flowers looked old and dying. I had to pick off the brown petals and cut some of the heads off the spray roses as they were dead. I also had to use a piece of fabric from the chair decor to cover the stems and exposed wires. The grooms boutonnieres were also brown and didn’t even make it through the night. Horrible experience, didn’t get what I paid $1,200. for and not recommend at all. -
