Excellent experience
We had the perfect wedding at Linden Row Inn. Casey's (director of sales) incredible attention to detail, clear and prompt communication, flexibility, and genuine kindness made the process of planning our wedding there not only easy, but enjoyable, and we felt confident in their event planning throughout the entire process.
Beyond that, our guests loved staying there. The courtyard was beautifully cleaned and maintained. The bridal suite was HUGE, perfect for portraits, first look photos, etc. Nearly all of our vendors were from their preferred vendor list, and they were a large part of the success of the day as well. -

Historic Charm with a Magical Flair
If you are looking for a wedding venue that captures the magic and beauty of a historic location, while adding in its own flair and charm, look no further than Linden Row. My husband and I are truly in awe of how stunning, romantic, charming, and timeless this venue was. Not only is Linden Row a historic venue that is timelessly preserved, but it is located centrally in the heart of Richmond, with all the fun elements it has to offer. Complete with its stunning courtyard, magical tree canopy, and rustic brick, the Linden Row is the perfect place to have a wedding. Beyond its inherent charm, Linden Row is convenient for guests and couples alike. Our guests loved that they could stay on-site for the wedding, grab a bite at Parterre during the weekend, and retire to their cozy room or suite at the end of the night. As a bride, the fact that we could do everything in one location was a game-changer. Additionally, I would recommend the suites to anyone who is getting married--the floor to ceiling windows, beautiful details, and historic elements make for stunning photos. In addition to the location itself, Linden Row's value is in its professional staff. Specifically, Casey, Alexa, and the entire team were invaluable in making our day a success. They worked flawlessly with our vendors, were extremely flexible throughout the entire process and wedding weekend, and executed our vision to a tee. I can confidently say not a single thing went wrong on our wedding (which is very rare) and in fact the wedding was even more magical than expected. Linden Row is truly a rare find. As a budget-conscious bride, I found its value to be incredible, and beyond that it is a place we can return to for years to come to celebrate the memories of a wonderful wedding. -

Secret Garden in the City!
I can't think of a more perfect location for a small ceremony in Richmond. Casey and her team were outstanding to work with. All of our guests loved the venue. It was so nice to be able to have the entire wedding in one location. We reserved the Carriage House rooms for our guests. This made it feel like the entire place was really ours for the night. We booked two different suites for the getting ready and they were both beautiful. The pictures are gorgeous. I grew up in South Carolina: Linden Row felt like the perfect marriage of my life in Virginia and the Lowcountry. I highly recommend it and look forward to returning for a honeymoon. -

Amazing staff!
We had our ceremony in the courtyard on a Sunday afternoon. There was a storm earlier that day and the staff spent an hour or more clearing the debris from the area before our event. They had a rain plan, but thankfully we didn’t have to use it.
The courtyard is beautiful and shady. We had our ceremony facing the fountain and were able to decorate it how we wanted. The entire facility is beautiful and great for pictures.
Casey was very responsive and helpful throughout the process. Alexa was our day of contact and she was amazing! The space is not very ADA friendly but Casey made sure that there was a ramp and special parking for our guest that needed it. All of our guests said it was a beautiful space. Several stayed in the hotel for the weekend and really enjoyed it.
We got a suite which was beautiful and large enough for the bridal party to get ready in. We had hair and make up come to us for 5 people and had plenty of space. Overall, it was great and the staff was amazing. -

A Dream Venue
Linden Row Inn was the perfect wedding venue. My fiancé and I knew we wanted to have a small, ~50-person wedding, and searched high and low for venue that was right-sized. We finally found Linden Row Inn and it was everything we were looking for. Their garden courtyard space perfectly fit our guests for an intimate ceremony-turned-reception-turned dance party (although, a true testament to how great and versatile the venue is - the space is able to seat up to 125 guests). We had ample time to set up before the event and clean up afterwards, and they graciously allowed us to store our personal items in their meeting room before and after the wedding. My fiancé and I, as well as a majority of our guests, stayed on-site in their various suites and guest rooms - we had the most enjoyable stay and received nothing but great feedback from our guests as well. Linden Row Inn’s historical charm also made for the most beautiful photos. The inn has so many unique hallways, balconies and nooks and crannies for photo locations. But what really made Linden Row Inn so wonderful was their people. Casey and Alexa worked with us from start to finish and were an absolute pleasure to work with. From our initial FaceTime tour of the property until their post-event outreach, they were fantastic. They were responsive, professional, flexible and somehow never lost patience with me even after what must have been my 1,000th email to them with questions. They were incredibly knowledgable and helpful and I felt like they truly cared about my event. Linden Row Inn is a beautiful venue made even better by incredible people. I would highly recommend it to any couple. -

Perfect Intimate Oasis in the Heart of Downtown
When we got engaged in December of 2019 and began our search for our wedding venue, Linden Row ticked every box on our list. We were enticed by the convenience of this almost all-inclusive style venue. Our guests stayed in the Garden and Main House rooms, parents and wedding party stayed in the suites which were perfect for getting ready (and ABSOLUTELY stunning...and HUGE!), taking photos the day of the wedding and general hospitality spaces to entertain friends and family throughout the weekend. We also booked our Rehearsal Dinner nearby so guests were able to walk to dinner the night before and bar hop throughout the neighborhood in anticipation of the festivities that were to come. The bricked over, intimate garden space provided the perfect backdrop that does not require over decoration and the in-house catering through Groovin' Gourmets was absolutely delicious. Their team knocked it out of the park as they handled the set-up, turnover from ceremony to reception and break-down at the end of the night. It honestly felt like we didn't even have to lift a finger and their team was on top of the details before we could even think about it. At the end of the night any guests that were interested in keeping the party going we had coordinated with the in-house restaurant, Parterre, to stay open so our guests could continue to enjoy their time together. This was so convenient so no one had to worry about even leaving the hotel, they could just walk to the restaurant inside, have a few drinks and then head upstairs to go to bed. We enjoyed brunch at Parterre the next day before family and friends parted ways, it was just the perfect weekend and I would not have changed a thing. The Linden Row team made this all possible from their outstanding front desk team to the sales department helping keep all of the details straight-10/10 would recommend, do not overlook this awesome venue! -

Perfect for an intimate wedding in the city
We were looking for somewhere with the charm of old Richmond but has progressive values. We feel like we got that in this venue.
Casey with Linden Row Inn was amazing to work with. We used Linden Row for our intimate reception of about 70. We tented the courtyard and it was so beautiful for our early summer wedding. Casey knows the ins and outs of the venue and was able to work with our vendors regarding any logistics with set up, take down, space limits, etc. She was flexible and understanding, especially since we had to postpone due to COVID.
It was nice that our family and friends could stay right at Linden Row by booking through the room block we had set up. Also, their suites are amazing and huge! I'd strongly recommend booking one or two for getting ready on the day of your wedding. My room could easily fit my bridesmaids and moms as we were getting our hair and make-up done. There was another suite across the way for my partner so we wouldn't run into each other on the day of. He was able to host the groomsmen and dads in there easily as well. Would definitely recommend it -

Perfect urban RVA wedding!
Linden Row was absolutely amazing from start to finish! Planning a wedding during COVID wasn't exactly fun but Casey, their sales & events director, was so extremely helpful. She kept us up to date on any and all updates regarding guest counts, masks mandates, etc. As a Richmond transplant, I wanted to find a venue that would give a good representation of the city to my traveling guest. The ability for my guest to book rooms and stay at the venue was so convenient and they all loved the charm. The courtyard venue was breath taking and exactly what we were looking for. The entire Linden Row team was so accommodating. We were extremely happy with their food vendor and the overall price tag for rental was fantastic by comparison -

Amazing intimate and elegant wedding venue!
Linden Row Inn is an AMAZING wedding venue! Everyone in our families said it was the most flawless, unique, and fun wedding they had been to, and that's in huge part due to the awesome tea at Linden Row Inn and their catering team at Groovin' Gourmet (Casey and Michelle in particular, respectively).
The people: Casey was wonderful in helping us navigate all of the changes in Virginia due to COVID so we could have a lovely intimate reception where people felt safe, but we still could have a ton of fun! She has a great eye for floorplans and is great at troubleshooting ay challenges that could come up. Plus she works really closely with the caterer - Groovin' Gourmet - and they are a dynamic due. The staff at the Inn are sweet and kind and great at troubleshooting whatever comes up. All of the staff have worked there for a long time, which speaks to the quality of the hotel. It felt like everyone was invested in making the day a great one - you'll feel the love here!
The space: The garden space + board room is a BEAUTIFUL space and is perfectly set up for a dance floor, buffet/dining room, cocktail hour, and reception space all in the same area (that way you don't have to book multiple spaces!). We had 56 guests and it was perfect, but we easily could have had more and it would not have felt too crowded. We had the tent because it was a little rainy and everyone raved about how perfect it was - clear top so you can still see the trees, little lights to brighten up the space. Plus, the hotel rooms themselves are lovely and comfortable (the beds are the best), and many of the garden rooms have been recently redone. The rooms feel both historical and comfortable - whether you stay in a garden room or splurge for a Parlour Suite.
I was a bride who liked being in the loop on all the details, and Casey and Michelle (with Groovin Gourmet) are real pros who were super patient with all my questions - I could tell they make anything happen, and make it beautiful and in budget. They truly rock. Have your wedding here, and do it brunch style (the cheesy potatoes will blow your mind). -

Amazing Intimate Wedding Setting!
Linden Row Inn was the perfect place to host our intimate pandemic wedding! Since it took place in January, we opted to bring the celebration indoors and we chose one of the gorgeous first floor suites for our ceremony with a phenomenal sit-down dinner following in their reception hall. Casey was incredible to work with throughout the entire process as rules and regulations changed during COVID lockdowns. She was creative, positive, and incredibly helpful! The entire staff at LR is exceptional and we couldn't have imagined a more gorgeous backdrop for our special day. Our photographer took us out front and around the courtyard and captured some incredible pictures with magnolias, brick, and the historic hotel as a gorgeous backdrop. Linden Row Inn partners with Groov'n Gourmets for catering and they provided a DELICIOUS steak and seafood dinner with scrumptious hors d'oeuvres and a full bar! They provided just as yummy a vegetarian options for one guest and were the nicest to encounter during the reception! I highly, highly recommend getting married at LR. Their courtyard will hold much more people but we are glad we chose the spectacular navy and gold gilded suite with original chandelier, black marble fireplace, and floor to ceiling gold mirrors. You just can't beat that classic, luxurious setting. We woke up the next morning feeling like royalty. We look forward to returning for future anniversaries to remember the happiest New Years ever! -

Amazing experience with engagement party!
My parents hosted an engagement party for my fiance and I just the other weekend at Linden Row Inn and it went better than I could have ever imagined! From Casey & Sarah helping assist us with table layout, linens, timeline, etc. to the awesome caterers it was an all over hit! My mom bragged about all the compliments she received from family and friends over the few days that followed the event saying how lovely the event was.
The venue itself is super cute and has a vintage type of charm to it. The banquet room is spacious but it also backs up to an adorable outdoor courtyard that we were lucky enough to have warm weather and make the event indoor/outdoor! If you're having an intimate wedding, reunion, or small party like we did I would definitely recommend this location! -

The Wedding of Our Dreams at Linden Row Inn
We recently had our wedding at Linden Row Inn and absolutely loved every minute of our weekend. The beautiful, historic Inn was an amazing setting for the romantic, intimate vibe we were going for. The staff were incredibly helpful, from the time we toured the venue to planning to our stay, everything was top notch. If you're looking for a venue where you're guests can stay right onsite, this is the place for you. The location is ideal as after the wedding our guests were able to walk to a nearby bar for our after-party. Not to mention there's an adorable (and tasty) restaurant/bar that was such a great addition as we didn't have to go far for amazing breakfast and lunch. Big shoutout to Casey Watson in the Sales Department as she made the entire experience of planning our wedding an absolute breeze. If only we could have a wedding every weekend, we'd have it here for sure. All in, with heavy hors d'oeuvres (which ended up being way more food than we needed), open bar (beer/wine), decor, guest gifts and venue costs, we kept the wedding under $9000, which was amazing. We used Lunch & Supper's catering company, The Urban Roost, and honestly that was the best decision ever because the food was above-par, we got so many compliments on how delicious the food was and how amazing the catering service was.
Highly recommend!! -

Perfect Hotel Block
We used Linden Row for our hotel block for out of town guests and it was perfect!! Sarah was very responsive and communicated everything that we needed. All of our guests who stayed enjoyed their stay and complimented the rooms! Very spacious and easy check in. The hotel also offers a shuttle service within 2 miles of the hotel that runs until 10:30pm. I would recommend them and use Linden Row again! -

Beautiful outdoor reception for springtime
We had the absolute best experience working with Casey who helped us book our wedding reception at Linden Row Inn this past spring. She was responsive and had great recommendations on layout designs or any other questions we had. The courtyard looked gorgeous the night of our wedding with lots of ferns (our favorite) and beautifully landscaped plants. We reserved a block of rooms with the inn for our guests so they didn’t have to worry about driving anywhere when the reception was over. My husband and I decided to book one of the parlour suites to stay in the night of our wedding and would highly recommend for future brides and grooms. We booked it for the night before as well so that my bridesmaids and I could get ready before the wedding. The parlour suite was very spacious with lots of rooms for the six of us. Unfortunately Urban Farmhouse had closed right before our wedding took place which would have been convenient for our guests to have breakfast or quick meals, but it really wasn’t a problem at all. There were plenty of restaurants and bars in the area. Linden Row has preferred vendors for their catering so we ended up using A Sharper Palate which did a phenomenal job. Since the weather was looking a questionable the night of our wedding, we went ahead and reserved a tent and lighting through Rent-E-Quip. We really wanted an outdoor wedding so we were a bit bummed to have to put up a tent. However, we were surprised by how beautiful the whole setting looked in the courtyard with the tent. The tents were so tall that you could still see plenty of greenery, minus the tree foliage over top, and we didn’t feel boxed in at all. Fortunately it didn’t rain until right at 10 pm when our band wrapped up. Linden Row Inn was the perfect setting for our reception - would highly recommend! We can’t thank Casey and her team enough for the amazing work. -

Gorgeous venue!
Linden Row was the best choice I could have made for our September wedding! The venue was gorgeous and the staff was beyond accommodating. From start to finish, the day went off without a hitch. Casey let us know what exactly to expect and was super responsive to any questions I had. The great thing about the location is that you can have your out of town guests stay right there, so they don't need to worry about driving to another spot after the event. The only thing I wish was different was the option to bring in our own catering. -

We are just thrilled with our experience at Linden Row Inn. We hosted 100 people for our ceremony and reception and the weekend was just perfection.
I loved that everyone from out of town was able to stay at the Inn, therefore transportation was taken care of and everyone was together the whole weekend. The location is right in the heart of the city, but you feel like you are in a countryside English garden. All of the rooms are spacious and beautiful, perfect setting for the bridal and groom suites. The garden was stunning, ended up having a clear-roof tent in the garden that accentuated the brick architecture and the abundant greenery surrounding the space.
Urban Farmhouse was excellent in our catering needs and were so helpful, generous, and easy to communicate with throughout the whole process. We met with Nancy, the catering manager, and both Kathleen and Dale, the owner and head chef, several times during the process and couldn't be more fantastic. Casey, the venue manager, was a dream. She was so easy to work with, made us feel so special and cared for, and made sure everything was perfect on our day. The staff at LRI were so helpful and kind as well.
Cannot recommend LRI highly enough and will hold a special place in our hearts for a lifetime! -

To start: GET THE BRIDAL SUITE. It's the fanciest, swankiest room we have ever seen, complete with original floors, a bay window, velvet couches, and chandeliers—a sitting room large enough for getting ready with all of your bridesmaids, and sharing time with family. Linden Row in was the most wonderful location to hold a wedding—historical, efficient, and so "classic Richmond." Did you know Edgar Allen Poe lived there? We love that they allowed us to be flexible with making their own music and bringing our own sound system. They were very sweet and accommodating and the staff was bragged about by everyone who attended! The staff could not have been more on top of things or friendlier—just top notch, in service and in flipping the courtyard from ceremony to reception. Our one qualm was that the food did not live up to the original tasting that we had had. Both entrées were fairly dry and bland from Urban Farmhouse. The tasting was delicious, so I'm not sure what happened that night. All in all, having all of our guests in one location from the rehearsal dinner all the way through the reception, ceremony, and breakfast the next day at Urban Farmhouse, it is an all inclusive wonderful, historical place with fantastic large green doors in the alley for amazing photo ops. -

What a joy it was to work with the amazing, talented staff at Linden Row Inn! Casey Watson, the sales manager, and Jeremy Weaver, the catering and events manager, are on top of their game. From start to finish, they were responsive, helpful, courteous, top-notch professionals. If you have a grand vision and need help executing it; they got it. If you have no idea what you're doing and need a lot of guidance; they got you.
Everything was so well-executed, and everyone knew exactly what to do and when. At no point did I feel stressed about the event, and at no point did I question if something was going to be forgotten or left undone.
Because the venue has an exclusive, in-house caterer and a list of recommended and approved vendors for music, tenting, and flowers, a lot of the research and guess work is already done. They say you get what you pay for, but at Linden Row Inn, you get so much more. I couldn't recommend the venue more highly.
Cherry on top: several of our guests said that ours was one of, if not the best weddings they had ever attended. -

I cannot say enough positive things about the The Linden Row Inn and their staff. My wife and I had our ceremony, as well as our reception there. The day after our wedding, we couldn't stop talking about how wonderful and how perfect our wedding was. It brings tears of joy to my eyes to think about it!
People always say there will be something that goes wrong, but as I look back I can't recall a single detail that was out of line. I cannot begin to express the gratitude we feel toward the Linden Row Inn and their staff. The day of the wedding, everyone was so accommodating and did so with a huge smile on their face. However, being one of the brides, and doing a lot of the planning, I want to specifically call-out Casey Watson, the Senior Sales Manager. She was easy to work with and knowledgeable; she made me look like a master at this wedding planning thing. My planning process with Casey and their exclusive caterers The Urban Farmhouse was stress-free, truly. They kept all of the details straight, kept to my master plan, and treated all of our guests wonderfully. Because the process was so smooth, the actual day of our wedding, I was so relaxed, because I had full faith in The Linden Row Staff.
We also had a room block for all of our guests, and my wife and I stayed in the beautifully appointed Parlor Suite. The rooms do not disappoint. They are charming, comfortable and in the heart of our beautiful city.
You must use The Urban Farmhouse as your caterer if you are planning a full reception there. I will write up a separate review for them, but Mat Lloyd and his staff were absolutely phenomenal to work with. I received happy, happy, positive reviews on the food and setting from all the guests.
Honestly, our wedding was the best day of my life and I have the Linden Row Inn, The Urban Farmhouse, their staff and all of our vendors to thank. Thank you for giving us the best celebration of our lives.

I cannot put into words how wonderful our wedding was at the Linden Row on 9/23, and how fantastic Casey and Mat were throughout the entire process. I felt like I gained two friends by the end. Both were very responsive, genuine, and everyone LOVED the venue and even guests commented on how wonderful the staff was during the event. Everything was beautiful, I loved having the bridal suite on site to get ready in, and the entire inn photographs beautifully. Linden Row is the best hidden gem in Richmond for romantic, intimate weddings. I cannot recommend the venue and the staff more, they truly made our experience wonderful and even gave us a charcoal drawing of the venue as a gift that we will always cherish. Thank you Casey and Mat! -

My wedding at Linden Row Inn couldn't have been better! Not only was the location exactly what we wanted, but it perfectly accommodated our guests. And the staff were so wonderful to work with. From the first email until the end of our reception, they were on-point, hard working and dedicated to making our wedding vision a reality. I would enthusiastically recommend the Linden Row Inn to anyone wanting to get married in a gorgeous urban setting with a vintage feel and a fantastic staff! -

We had an amazing weekend celebrating my daughter's wedding at Linden row Inn. They took care of every detail. We are so glad we chose this as the venue for our event. I would do it all over again if I could! -

Such a great experience hosting our wedding here. Cost and value were the best I found in Richmond. Easy to work with, a cute venue, conveniently located with parking. You couldn't ask for more! -

We used the Linden Row Inn for our guests during our wedding. We absolutely fell in love with the hotel when we first took a tour and booked it right away. The suites were great for the getting ready for the bridal party and for larger families with more kids. My family loved hanging out in the courtyard space in between wedding events. As the bride I stayed in the Mary Wingfield Scott Parlour and it was absolutely gorgeous and I got some amazing getting ready pictures there. -

We had our wedding at Linden Row in June of 2015 and had a fantastic experience. The price for the venue (both the ceremony and reception) was very reasonable and well within our budget, and Casey and the rest of the staff were wonderful. They helped us with a lot of the planning and details (chairs, tables, band setup, etc.) and worked closely with our caterer and other vendors to make sure everything went smoothly. As for the rooms, the suites were beautiful, and the garden rooms were very nice, reasonably priced, and worked out great for our guests. Very highly recommended! -

We held our wedding and reception in the courtyard at Linden Row Inn. It was spectacular! It had an intimate feel but there was still plenty of room for 100+ guests. We loved that it was right in the city but felt like a secret oasis. There were amazing photo opportunities and our guests raved about it. The events coordinator (Casey) was super sweet, really easy to work with, and very responsive. We had a wonderful experience with Linden Row and absolutely recommend it! -

Choosing the Linden Row Inn for our April 2014 wedding ceremony was a wonderful decision. We were able to book almost all the rooms in the inn and it made for the most memorable wedding weekend, exactly what we had imagined. Casey, Robin and their team were so accommodating, from Thursday to Sunday. We hosted our rehearsal dinner, wedding ceremony, and Sunday brunch at the Linden Row, with the reception at the VMFA. Despite having quite a large number of guests for the outdoor ceremony space, the staff helped us set up the space and we were able to fit everyone. The courtyard gave our ceremony a lovely, intimate feel. We had so many guests comments on how much they enjoyed staying in a hotel with more character and Richmond history. Also, the bridal suite is absolutely beautiful. Thank you again! -

Casey and the staff at Linden Row Inn are so great. We spent the whole weekend at the hotel (Friday-Sunday). All of the rooms were gorgeous. The bridal suite was really the kicker though. It's absolutely beautiful. It made the weekend for us.
Casey was super responsive throughout my entire engagement. We had to work around the UCI bike race, and I know she was incredibly swamped, but she still managed to be super quick to reply. The venue was gorgeous. Our guests can't stop talking about how perfect it was. The staff was super nice, helpful, and really took care of us. They did a great job with setup/breakdown. The space is a little small, but honestly I liked it that way. It made the whole thing seem so intimate. It didn't feel too small at all. It was just right. We were in it together, without being crammed in each other's ways. Everybody had room to eat, mingle, dance, and have a blast.
I can't imagine getting married anywhere else. -

We had our entire wedding party and much of our family stay at the Linden Row Inn for our wedding in Richmond. They were fantastic! They helped us put welcome baskets in the rooms of the people in our wedding party, they showed us each of the suites so we could pick where we wanted our families to stay, and Casey was very prompt and helpful when we had questions along the way. They even went ahead and prepped our rooms for early check-in before we asked for it! The bridal party pictures we took in the bridal suite were beautiful! If you're having a wedding in Richmond, you should stay at the Linden Row Inn! -

When my DJ showed up 1.5 hours late, the Inn graciously gave me another hour, free of charge because they understood how much it took away from the day. Susie in the Sales department is amazing and so nice. She was so helpful and made all the arrangements so easy. -

I was so thrilled with my wedding at this venue. Susie & her team were amazing. I was over 3,000 miles away and they always were prompt with their replies. The venue was PERFECT and such a great value. It was so convenient to be able to have our guests stay at this antique hotel. The court yard was a beautiful, unique and intimate. I would recommend this venue to all brides that are looking the perfect blend between the old and the new. -

We had the most perfect wedding at Linden Row Inn. The courtyard is gorgeous and unique and the suites are spectacular. Casey was fantastic during the planning process. She’s super responsive and helpful. When Mother Nature decided to not cooperate the week of our wedding, Casey was so helpful in completely redesigning our floor plan to accommodate our tent. It’s a wonderful place to hold a wedding with lots of out of town guests as everything is all in one spot.-

April Wedding
I had the pleasure of having my wedding at Linden Row Inn April 2024. The weather was perfect, and the intimate space was even better. Initially when I saw the space I had no faith that my 85 guests would comfortably fit but Alexa and Grooving Gourmet catering made it happen. Everything was beautiful and my guests had nothing but great things to say about the space and the service. The elevator was out of service the weekend of my wedding and Alexa made sure to inform me prior to my arrival and offered to get accommodations at another hotel. I would highly recommend Linden Row Inn as a wedding venue if you are looking for a space for your outdoor wedding. My only drawback is that I wish they would have an actual wedding package. Most of the large items you may want for your day is an extra charge with an outside vendor and that can drive up the wedding budget. For example, bistro lights, different color chairs if you want something other than the white that is offered, a large tent in case it rains etc. -

Just what we wanted
We live in Richmond and wanted our ceremony to take place in the city -- we knew that we wanted a very small party (we ended up with 11 guests) so we didn't need any of the large spaces. I had taken note of Linden Row years ago because, with such a small group, I knew you could easily transform the same space to be your ceremony, cocktail hour, dining, and dancing, and then just walk 50 feet to your hotel room... That was exactly what I wanted, so it was really exciting that they offered a cheaper "elopement" rate for certain nights and certain months (we got married on a Thursday night in May). The venue looks fantastic in all our photos, and despite being a public space, we didn't notice a single other person all night.
Some things to keep in mind:
- tenting is WAY more expensive than anticipated... We ended up getting a smaller tent than is typically used in the space because our group was so small; it ended up being unnecessary, but rain had been in the forecast all week so we had to bite the bullet... But Linden Row didn't try to micromanage our decision to get a smaller tent; they just let us plan and then were willing to execute the vision, which was appreciated.
- lighting is also super expensive! I'm really glad we did it, because it totally transforms the space, but you won't be able to do it cheaply as a DIY project because they require a licensed installer. I honestly think the space (as nice as it is on its own) wouldn't have been nearly as cool without the lighting (our event was 7-10 PM).
- They require you to use Groovin' Gourmet as your caterer (not including dessert) -- I totally get why they do this (the event went very smoothly), and the food was fine, but I didn't love working/planning with GG generally (maybe they phoned it in because they knew we didn't have any other options)... Still, it was fine.
- The rain plan for our small group was the adjoining board room, right off the courtyard... While it would have worked, it would have been much more squished than we realized when we booked the venue because it turned out that about 20% of the space needed to be used by the catering team, too. I don't remember this being something that was mentioned when we toured (though it was a virtual COVID era tour) so just something I figured I'd mention so that others know.
- Our package came with a parlour suite for the night -- because we had an evening wedding I was also able to get ready in that room; it was a pretty space for "getting ready" photos and a very comfortable (bed, shower, etc.) stay. We paid for our guests to stay in the Garden Suites that are right inside the courtyard; those accommodations were very nice, too, and super convenient.
- Linden Row advertises valet service and a shuttle, but neither were running because of staffing issues. This wasn't a big problem because there's a parking garage nearby (and I was even able to score overnight street parking), but we had been counting on the shuttle to help get some older members of our party to breakfast a few blocks away (they ended up just driving the few blocks, but parking in the morning on a weekday is no easy feat in Richmond!)
Overall very happy with our venue. They provided us with a lot of flexibility in how we wanted to set things up since we were such a small party, though they have lots of ready-made templates available for larger parties. Pictures are beautiful. It ended up being the exact vibe we were going for. -

Booked Linden Row for our wedding ceremony in early May and absolutely adored every minute of it. Struggled with the fact that it is enforced that you cater through Urban Farmhouse (who is extremely pricey), but well worth working with Casey for our special day. She's an absolute dream. Luckily got a group rate for having our guests stay (because it runs pricey otherwise), but would absolutely recommend this as a wedding venue and staying in the King Parlour Suite (holy amazing!) -

We had THE BEST wedding day at Linden Row Inn. If you are looking for a charming, intimate and historic atmosphere this is the place for you. Our wedding day was without tenting, thank goodness because the large tree in the courtyard, brick surrounds and festoon lights created a sparkling ceiling in the open air. HIGHLY RECOMMEND the bridal suite for getting ready in the morning. It has all the charm.
