  Down to the finest detail, every aspect of the catering was superb! The appetizers were delish, and the presentation was amazing. Dinner was wonderful, and everything flowed seamlessly . We were so happy that we were able to get their services.

  Excellent catering and bar service!

  The Lilac team was amazing to work with! They were very responsive during the planning process, arrived at our venue on time and completely prepared. All the staff were professional, fun and a pleasure to work with. The food was outstanding and the team left the kitchen spotless before they left.   Fabulous experience!

  The Lilac team bartended for our wedding and we were thrilled with their service. They were so professional, easy to communicate with, and came up with some fun suggestions for homemade mixed drinks. They also set up a display of fruit and vegetable infused water that our guests loved. They did a great job keeping an eye out for my husband and me and checked in to see if we needed anything regularly. They also cleaned up beautifully and collected empties around the venue. We give them our highest recommendation!

  Great food and amazing service

  We had Lilac for our wedding caterer and they were phenomenal. The food was excellent, the guests loved it, and they were professional throughout the entire process. They stuck with us throughout multiple date changes due to the pandemic and they delivered!

  11.02.19 at The Barn at Silver Oaks Estate

  Kim, Clark, and the entire team at Lilac are nothing but amazing. We have no doubt that we went with the best catering company in the area. All of the staff were so amazing from the time we first met at our tasting to saying goodbye at the end of our reception. Kim and Clark made it so difficult to narrow down our final menu because everything we tasted was amazing. Not to mention that our Mexican themed rehearsal dinner was to die for. I wish I had some of that cheese dip right now!
  We are truly thankful that we had such an amazing team to make our whole wedding weekend perfect. Kim was so willing to accommodate all of our guests needs including our menu being completely but free and almost completely gluten free. All of our guests were so impressed with the food and drinks. The whole staff was so kind and accommodating and my husband and I were so surprised with how attentive Kim and Clark were to the two of us. You can not go wrong with these amazing people. We would recommend again and again.

  Perfect and Wonderful!

  Lilac catered the Wedding Rehearsal Dinner, Welcome Party and Sunday Brunch for my son and daughter-in-law's wedding. They went out of their way to cater to our different food needs (food allergies, vegetarian, etc). They were first class all the way. Most importantly they took care of everything. Since I live across the country from Winthrop, Maine, I trusted Kim and her staff entirely. Everything was delicious and presented so beautifully. They helped create a perfect weekend for our families!

  Kim, her husband, and her team went above and beyond our expectations. They first began by preparing a delicious taste testing for my fiancé and parents. All along the way they worked within our budget and made a delicious and elegant meal. They made sure that we didn’t have to worry about the small details. Their team was professional, caring, and excelled at making our wedding beyond memorable. They were responsive to emails, calls, questions. The food and drinks were delicious. If you are looking for a good quality, caring, attentive, and professional catering and mixology team this is the one for you.

  Not your average caterer

  If you are looking for a caterer that treats you like family, allows and encourages you to share ideas for the menu all for a very reasonable cost...look no further than Lilac Mixology & Catering! We hired them to caterer the rehearsal dinner as well as the wedding reception along with providing bar service both evenings and bridal party prep nourishments.
  
  At our request for a casual rehearsal dinner where the wedding party along with out of town guests and family could enjoy each others company, the team prepared a casual pizza buffet of grilled gourmet pizzas with salads, bruschetta, tortilla chips, and pastry platter that included cannoli. They took basic party food and elevated it to a sophisticated gourmet spread that was not intimidating to the average joe but would impress any foodie. The next day (wedding day!) Kim had set up a lovely spread of fruit, veggies, power trail mix, meat & cheese platter to make sandwiches along with water and of course mimosa fixings. It was perfect to give the bridal party a little fuel power to get them through the day during prep for the wedding. That evening the food was an amazing presentation of local sourced products of tender beef tenderloin and pesto chicken (to die for). Again buffet style with an elevated elegance.
  As for the bar service, Clark along with son Zack and other bartender Chris created 2 amazing signature drinks Apple Sangria and Apple Cider Whiskey...did I say AMAZING! Clark was willing to meet our requests and again kept with the locally sourced theme and served Maine Kraft Beers and Wines along with what you find at any bar. They kept the guests happy and were very professional making sure no one was out of control.
  Throughout the entire weekend the Lilac team made sure we were happy and meeting our needs and requests. Kim and Clark are a very special couple that truly love feeding people...they make you feel like you are an old friend eating at their family table. Just a lovely couple to work with.

  I can not say enough about the amazing experience we had with Lilac Mixology & Catering. They worked with our budget and personal tastes to make a dream menu. We also had a few allergies and a vegan request and Kim easily made them all their own plates, my guests were so impressed and thankful!   Kim, Clark and their family & staff truly are one in a million. Their quality of service is matched by the taste of their food. Kim and her creative ways of making food an elevated experience were truly more than we were expecting! Clark and Zack bartended at our wedding and they were such a hit with our guests and Clark worked to make my husband, Zach, and I our own speciality drinks for the event! Sam even helped with making sure that our place settings were perfect on the day and is amazingly skilled with her creative eye and detail oriented mindset!

  Truly an amazing experience from start to finish! They are a dream for any couple ready to tie the knot.
  
  Firstly, a huge part of our decision-making process was the fact that they do a tasting!! Why other places seem to think that you will hire them without having tried a sample of the food you will be eating is beyond me!
  
  A list of a few things they went above and beyond to help us with; Sticking with our budget, making specialty cocktails for each of us, taking our idea (a taco bar) and making it a million times better than we ever could have expected, working with fresh ingredients and making *the best tacos we have ever had* (and we are taco freaks), being extremely detail-oriented with the presentation of the food, helping us with things that normal caterers would not have done. Overall going above and beyond for us in more ways than we probably even know about.
  
  Kim and Clark and their team are extremely generous and wonderful people. We are forever grateful and so happy that they helped us make our day as amazing as it was.

  Dog friendly and great to work with!

  These folks were an absolute pleasure to work with, they truly went above and beyond to make this day so special for us! On the day of our wedding, my dog, the flower pup, was hanging out with my bridesmaids and I in the Bridal suite. Kimberly noticed that she was a bit excited by the festivities and offered to walk her around the venue to help get some energy out. It was a small gesture but made a huge difference and truly reflected how they would go out of their way to help us out and make our day special! I would absolutely hire them again!!

  Our relationship with Cafe130 began only a week before our Wedding but will continue for a lifetime. The Sunday before our wedding we were struggling with last minute details, trying to make everything perfect while maintaining a budget that seemed to be rapidly disappearing. Our venue-The Barn at Silver Oaks had a close professional and personal relationship with Cafe130 and suggested we “give them a call”....we did just that. We called Kim on the spot-explained what we were looking for and when (less then a week away). Within a few minute she gathered a 5 member crew and with in a few hours had a created a contract including bar service and cocktail hour appetizers for $1000.00 less then the vendor we were contracted with at the time. Kim, her husband Clark and staff were beyond AMAZING...they met and exceeded our expectations. The food was delicious, the service was impeccable and the staff were friendly, appreciative and respectful with us and all of our guest. We can not thank you enough for everything. You all honestly do an amazing job...your dedication, personal touch and attention to detail helped make our day perfect in every way!!

  Wow! That’s feel you get from Cafe130. They really are amazing people with the willingness to help wherever they can! On our wedding day it had been raining off and on all day, we got a break in weather and were able to have our ceremony outside with quick responsiveness Kim and her team helped put together our decor for outside on our arbor! This was something we hadn’t paid for they just did to be the most helpful! Thank you to Cafe130 you guys are rockstars! You helped make our day magical!

  Cafe 130 is an amazing team to work with. They go above and beyond to make sure that the food is exactly what you envisioned for your day as well as making sure the arrangements and displays of the food are beautiful. Kim and Clark's passion for the bride and groom comes through in everything they do! They are open and willing to try new dishes to accommodate different palates and if you have a vision, they will try to make it happen.Communication is easy and they are very quick to respond.   Everything from the rehearsal dinner to the wedding day was perfect! Day of breakfast and lunch were amazing, the bar service was top notch, and the pizza's were to die for!

  Great Experience

  Kim and team were a pleasure to work with. We had to postpone our wedding twice due to COVID and they were very professional and flexible throughout the whole process. The entire process from menu selection, to the tasting and throughout the wedding was seamless and our guests and family raved over the food. Thanks guys!

  We had a wonderful wedding thanks to Kim, her husband and their team. Guests were very impressed with the setup and the bar never seemed to have a long line. Thank you for making our day so special! We would highly recommend Cafe130 to cater your next event.

  We did a buffet style dinner the food was delicious and hot. We were personally served at our table as the bride & groom & personally served water & appetizers during cocktail hour/pictures which was great. Our venue raved on lilac saying they were amazing to work with but we did have a few let downs. The guys were supposed to have a shot of courage served right before the ceremony & didn’t get it. Several guest including my husband had their plates cleared before they were done eating, my signature drink wasn’t what I chose & we didn’t have iced tea & lemonade as we had requested but overall it was good & we would recommend just make sure things are very clearly understood before your big day

  This was our experience

  If you are considering Lilac, please do your homework. My wife and I unfortunately selected Lilac as our caterer for our wedding and rehearsal dinner and they did not deliver the quality or experience they claim. This review was written two weeks after our experience to ensure that we were being objective rather than reactive. It’s based on our experience as a couple as well as direct feedback we received from many of our guests.
  
  The term disappointment is not strong enough, it was flat out disastrous.
  
  Rehearsal Dinner:
  
  We selected to have a taco bar for our rehearsal dinner and there was not enough food for the guest count we confirmed with Kim, nor were their signs put out identifying what each food item was, which Kim confirmed there would be. I (the groom) was last in line to get food and the appetizer was already gone. This was frustrating because we were down 2 people from the original guest count given, 2 additional adults didn’t eat at all, and 3 of our guests were young children who ate very little. Then the list of errors continued: guacamole was on the menu we selected but none was served, they used low quality jarred salsa (but promised us they only use fresh ingredients), large flour tortillas were provided for the tacos that were larger than the ones Chipotle uses for their burritos and both the ground beef and shredded chicken were poorly seasoned.
  
  My wife and I are very understanding people, we spoke directly to Kim (Chef and Co-Owner) about the guacamole and lack of food for the guest count given. Kim’s response to the guacamole was that she could not get ripe avocados. In my opinion, this is not an acceptable answer. Restaurants and other caterers prepare properly in order to meet menu expectations. Secondly, she did not address it with us until I brought it to her attention, which tells us that she was hoping we would not notice. In regard to the limited amount food, Kim’s response was, “I planned for one serving per person, it’s not my fault people took more than they should have.” Her husband, Clark (Co-Owner) stood behind the buffet the entire time, if there was concern regarding people taking larger portions, why did he not serve our guests directly?
  
  Our guests did not say anything to us that evening, but a couple of our guests had GI issues the next morning that continued into the following week.
  
  Reception
  
  The salad our guests were served was not the salad we selected and Kim confirmed. We selected beef tenderloin for one of the proteins and our guests were served cap steak instead. Many of our guests complained their chicken was completely raw. The beef was meant to be served with a horseradish cream sauce and no sauce was served. I noticed about half our guests had received their meals and those who selected beef did not have the sauce provided to them. At that time, I walked to the prep kitchen, addressed the issue with Kim and she said they will get the sauce out to the tables as soon as they can. I also addressed the poor quality of meat served to my wife and I. I was surprised by the quality of meat as Kim had approached me before our ceremony to share that she had reserved a prime cute of beef for us. Kim’s response was not professional, she was clearly irritated that I was not happy and became argumentative with me. She told me I did not know what I was talking about it and she did not have time to speak with me. Finally, Lilac began sending the sauce for the beef out to the tables at the end of dinner service (most people had finished their meal) to make matters worse, they served the sauce on small, clear plastic plates.
  
  One of our guests sent her chicken back due to it being raw, Kim was extremely rude to the guest. She denied it was raw, and although she did ultimately take it back and serve a new piece of chicken, this guest was never checked on again to ensure things were okay. Another one our guests is a chef who has been on the Food Network, he proactively approached us to share that the menu items we had selected were not being served. Other guests shared that their beef was raw, beef was under-seasoned, and chicken was raw.
  
  Late Night Snacks
  
  We paid extra to have late-night snacks served; we opted for sliders and fries and fried rice with pork dumplings. After our DJ announced the late-night snacks, I had to go looking for them because they had been left hidden away in the prep kitchen (an area guests do not go into). The sliders were “sweaty” and stacked sloppily, no fries were served, there was only fried rice, no dumplings (which we paid an additional cost per person to have). There were not condiments provided and no to-go containers, which we were assured there would be. There was a food item on the table that we had not ordered and were not sure what it was, my wife and I approached Kim and her team to ask what it was. Kim and her team were hanging out in the back of a U-Haul truck. When we asked Kim what the mystery item was and she informed me that it was a stuffed pretzel bite and that she was “kind enough to include it for free.” I then asked about the dumplings and she said she did not make them yet. This was really frustrating because her and her team were clearly packed up for the night and hanging out. Both my wife and I were trying to express our frustration on what they delivered not being what we paid for. Kim told my wife to “walk away”. Her staff was openly laughing at how upset and emotional my wife was. When I informed Kim that the food and service we received did not meet the money we paid she told us if we wanted our money back we will need to “come at her in court.” She then told her team it was time to leave.
  
  All in all, Lilac did not follow the menu we paid for. Our rehearsal dinner food, reception and late- night snacks led to my wife and I being embarrassed in front of our friends and family.
