First of all - look no further, Allison is it so go ahead and book her. Not only were her photos absolutely amazing, but Allison's personality is so kind and fun that even from our first email I felt like I was talking with one of my friends which as a bride really put me at ease. From our engagement photos on the beach in 30+ mph winds - to our big day, Allison was very responsive, engaging, and open to any wild and crazy idea I may have add. Her photos are absolutely STUNNING and vibrant with the colors - seriously there's not a single wedding photo I don't like. My husband and I are also not a couple who like to pose for pictures and prefer candids, but she made us feel SO comfortable that posing just felt natural. By the end of our wedding night, Allison felt more like a friend than photographer and we were both sad to see her leave. So if you want someone with stunning work who feels just like a friend - look no further because Allison is it! -

Allison was the first vendor I hired for our wedding and, along with our planner, the best decision we made.
What initially sold me was her incredible photography. What sold me next was the intake form on her website where she asked what Harry Potter house I was in… with a fifth option that said, “I hate Harry Potter and I hate fun.” I knew right then she not only took amazing photos, but was also someone I’d actually enjoy spending the day with.
And that matters more than you think.
I wanted someone who would make me feel comfortable and relaxed throughout our engagement shoot and wedding day, and Allison checked every box.
When we first met for our engagement shoot, I said, “Allison, I’m really awkward and don’t know what to do with my hands.” She immediately said, “I got you.” Not only did she guide me the entire time, but we even leaned into it and took a few joking photos -- which are now some of my favorites.
That’s the beauty of working with Allison -- the photos are not only stunning, but real.
Not just perfectly posed shots, but candid moments of us ugly laughing during speeches, singing, and fully being ourselves on the dance floor. She was completely on board with all of our ideas —from a fake first look with our best friend to my bridesmaids cutting their dresses at the end of the night to go dancing — and captured the entire day, and us, perfectly.
She felt like an extension of my bridal party -- more like a friend than a vendor.
Since the wedding, we’ve already hired her again. She’s that talented, and we’ll take any excuse to work with her! -

Allison’s talent is only matched by how easy and fun it is to work with her. She has a knack for letting the moments with her breathe naturally but also can “herd the cats” to make sure the job gets done. We did two shoots with her, one for our engagement and one for our wedding day, and we could not be happier with the collection of photos we now have to remember this time in our lives forever.
For our engagement shoot, we had a very specific “vibe” we wanted to create. Allison helped us create the perfect day for it and added a few elements of her own that she knew would be a hit. Hanging out with Allison is warm and fun. She makes you feel comfortable and that comfort and warmth comes through in all of her photos.
On our wedding day, we were absolutely blown away by how efficient she was. Looking back at the photos, we were in disbelief that she was a single shooter. She captured every key moment, got through every combination of family photos, and curated some of the most beautiful couple shots we could have ever imagined.
If you are thinking about hiring Allison for your engagement, wedding, or both, don’t hesitate. She’s an incredibly talented professional and you’ll be stoked about the results. As a bonus - she turns around the final photos very quickly, you don’t have to wait months to see them. -

Allison is INCREDIBLE, and if you are looking for a wedding photographer we truly believe you do not need to look any further. When we met Allison at our engagement session we knew right away that we made the right decision - it was like hanging out with a friend for 30 minutes. The entire session felt so natural and we had the BEST time. In the time between booking Lightbloom Photography for our wedding and the big day, Allison answered every question we had and she was always quick to respond. Twelve days after our wedding we received our wedding album and we are still in complete awe of the breath taking photos Allison captured of our special day. Allison is an expert and we cannot recommend her enough as a photographer and also as an amazing human being. -

Allison is simply the best. From the very first communication, I knew Allison was *the one*. She was prompt, transparent and extremely professional, all while offering the exact style of wedding photo that I was looking for. She provided so many resources throughout the planning process and honestly went way beyond any expectations I would have from my photographer. Not to mention she was totally on board with my multi day wedding extravaganza and showed up ready to take in and capture the chaos. Which she did, beautifully! And she then turned around the photos at lightning speed. I can't say enough good things about her. You know your wedding photographer is amazing when half the guests are talking about how cool she was at the brunch the morning after. 10/10 would have another wedding so Allison could shoot it. -

We had the absolute pleasure of working with Allison as our wedding photographer. Of course, she is so much more than that. Allison is a wonderful human being (and just as sweet as can be) who makes everyone she works with feel so incredibly comfortable in front of the camera. She makes what she does look so effortless, but the work she puts in behind the scenes is really what sets her apart from the rest. For starters, Allison offers an engagement photoshoot with her wedding photography packages. This was such a pleasant surprise for us, and served as a great opportunity to meet Allison ahead of our wedding day! She is also an excellent communicator (easing my mind about potential rain at least once 😅) and has a very quick turnaround time when it comes to email inquiries. With that, her website and photo galleries are so user friendly and easy to access, which may seem like a small detail but it really stood out to me throughout our time working with her. It is clear Allison has spent a lot of time building her business into what it is today, and I have so much admiration for her because of this.
And of course, how could I talk about Allison and Lightbloom Photography without mentioning how PERFECTLY she captured not only our engagement photos, but our entire wedding day. I was particularly blown away by the fact that she seemed to be everywhere at once, capturing all of the small moments I thought no one else was watching. One example that stood out to me was after our wedding reception dinner. My grandma needed to head out early, but before she left, she came over to give me a hug while everyone else was busy dancing. When we got our gallery back, I saw Allison had captured this sweet exchange between me and my grandmother and it actually brought a tear to my eye. I am genuinely still in shock over how beautiful our photos turned out and know I will be looking at them forever. For those in search of the perfect photographer, Allison is spectacular and it is clear that she takes her craft very seriously. With all this being said, we would highly recommend Lightbloom Photography! You will not regret your decision to work with her. -

Alison with light loom is amazing! Her personality just radiates and she puts you at ease even during the anxiety and stress of it all. She was phenomenal to work with and had us feeling like models. There are so many things I could say in this review about Allison as a photographer. But, I’ll start with saying - hire her, NOW. She is truly someone you need for your wedding day. From the moment I booked her she made the planning process fun. She is such a bright and special person and I don’t know that our wedding would have been as magical of a day without her. She is just that good at making you relaxed, making you laugh and just so incredible at what she does. I’ve never been comfortable with getting photos taken and she made the process so easy. My family adored her and my guests commented on how awesome she was. Her photos are gorgeous. Seriously, hire her. She is an absolute gem. -

The absolute BEST!!!
Don’t think, just book!! Allison was the only photographer my venue manager named when I asked who I should use and she was right!! Allison makes you feel so comfortable, beautiful, and natural and makes taking pictures so fun that my husband didn’t complain one single time!! She truly becomes a friend in your wedding planning process. Her response time is wicked with emails and photos. I got my wedding album back in FOUR DAYS and my bridal portraits in less than 24 HOURS!!! She works so hard to make sure that everything is absolutely perfect and the results are STUNNING!! I don’t know how many times people have told me my bridal portraits and wedding pictures belong in a magazine and it’s all because of Allison! Myself, my family, my whole bridal party are all obsessed with her, and I don’t see how you couldn’t be. Allison is your girl!!! -

If I could give one piece of advice to a couple planning a wedding... HIRE ALLISON & Lightbloom Photography for your wedding! Allison was an absolute dream to work with; her fun and easygoing personality made it easy to be ourselves in front of the camera. She had unique photo ideas that gave us GORGEOUS results- and she got us our photos 8 DAYS after the wedding... 8 DAYS PEOPLE!!!!!!! She was so much more than a wedding photographer on our day, truly. She wrangled groomsmen, fluffed my dress and veil in the crazy wind, fended off family members to let us have a moment alone before the reception, and even managed to snap adorable pictures of our 3-year-old flower girl with autism and our ten-month-old puppy (and sacrificed her mitten as a chew toy to get the shot). I can't say enough good things about Allison- we LOVE her! -

Seriously the best!!!!! Our pictures were exactly how our wedding felt… magical!!! I found Allison and started following her on Instagram. Immediately I fell in love with her pictures. When we had our intro chat, I wanted her to be my best friend, which is what you want as a photographer, but even as a person outside of that!! Allison helped made the day run smoother and I LOVED how planned out she is.
If I could give a million star review, I would.
Trust me, if you are paying $5 or $50k for a wedding, you need her in your life to capture the love between the married couple, family/friends, and the entire event. I look at these pictures almost everyday!!! -

Words cannot express how truly amazing and talented Allison is…
I cannot express enough how lucky I am that we found Allison to photograph our wedding! We all know the wedding process as a whole can be very stressful… Before even meeting with her in person and only emailing back a forth and scrolling though her portfolio a few times… I KNEW she was going to be the perfect fit! Her energy lights up a room and it reflects though her work. She has a great eye and captured our entire day from start to finish with such grace. Of course we had the traditional posed photos (absolutely stunning btw) but for me it’s the candid shots that make me feel like I’m reliving this extremely special day over and over again. Picking a photographer was one of the biggest decisions for my husband and I when planning our wedding. After an awesome intro call, we went with Allison and we have zero regrets! Allison was AWESOME!
My now husband randomly found Allison on google. She was like the first person he clicked on. I don't know how he did it but he stumbled upon the perfect photographer. I've followed her on social media ever since he set us up with Allison for our engagement photos and I love her work! She felt like a friend right from the start and we got along really well with everything. We of course had to hire her again for our wedding and she again was great. I love all of our pictures (of which there are like 700). Her work is perfection
Allison was the most wonderful photographer. I can’t even begin to find the words to describe just how amazing this woman is but I’m going to try! Starting with our engagement photos she really captured our relationship the way it is and made us feel so comfortable! The photos were perfection and any that you get from her really are just that. PERFECTION! Our wedding was a blur but all the pictures Allison got really helped me relive it in the most beautiful way. She was great with directing our family and friends to get the shots we wanted and ones I didn’t know I wanted but definitely did!! Absolute Perfection!
Allison is absolutely wonderful to work with! She made our small courthouse wedding day so special. First, she was incredibly responsive, even when she was out of the country and did not have to be. Second, she remained flexible. She had a plan for the rain and never once asked us to reconsider the time of day we were planning to shoot. I gave her little to no direction and she nailed it! Somehow she was inside my head and new exactly what I wanted. She is so easy to work with and talk to. I often feel anxious in front of a camera but her positivity is contagious. She had our photos back to us is less than 24 hours and even provided previews within hours of shooting! I honestly cannot put into words how wonderful our experience with Allison was. If you love her work, book her! The photos turned out amazing and truly captured the heart of our special day. -

We could not have chosen a more genuine, talented, responsive, fun, easygoing (I could go on and on) photographer for our wedding. WOW is all I can say, really WOW! My husband and I were BLOWN away by Allison!!! I can not stop looking at our photos because they are absolutely gorgeous, beautiful, and exactly what we were looking for in terms of style and aesthetic. Her work, her professionalism, how passionate she is about what she does (including but not limited to: fluffy snow dogs, music, travel, and harry potter), her personality, and just who she is as a person are just some of the reasons why you should hire her!
I was fortunate enough to come across Lightbloom Photography after our initial wedding photographer scammed us. My husband and I were completely disheartened because we weren't sure how we would find a photographer 5 months before our wedding and we also were hesitant about trying to find someone who would trust taking our photos on a very important day. But immediately after sending an inquiry email to Allison and speaking to her on the phone, I felt an immediate sense of relief and calm that we were in good hands. She even went out of her way to meet us a few weeks before our wedding to verify that she was an actual person. LOL. She had no issues traveling to the Raleigh area for our wedding and we had such a BLAST throughout the day.
Honestly, it did not feel like we had a photographer following us around the entire day, it felt like we were just a group of friends having a great time. She was so sweet and patient to our pup too and if you suggested something she was TOTALLY on board for it.
One of the many things we loved about working with Allison from Lightbloom Photography was we wanted to have a piece of Wilmington incorporated in our wedding because it was the place that my husband and I met so it holds some significance to the both of us and just having here was a reminder of that place. The best way I can describe it is, it was like a perfect sunny day at Wrightsville Beach without the annoying seagulls and tourists. I could write paragraphs about Allison and Lightbloom Photography, but I don't want to give away too many spoilers for any future couples who are blessed to work with her. Thank you again Allison for making our day so fun. We loved working with you! -

There are honestly not enough words to describe how amazing Allison was through our whole wedding experience. We got married on 11/12/2021 and she photographed our wedding day as well as our engagement session back in March. Not only was Allison the BEST photographer, but she was also so much more. She answered any and all questions throughout the planning process and ended up connecting us to almost all of our other vendors. She is one of the most genuine and kind humans I have ever met. She is definitely in the right profession and her photographs are such beautiful artwork. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. I cannot recommend her enough! Her pricing is also very reasonable and definitely worth the money! If you are getting married, you HAVE to contact Allison! -

Like hanging with a family member!
I cannot say enough things about how amazing Allison is! She truly became a part of our family on our wedding day. Working with her was an absolute dream. From the beginning, getting our wedding on her books - she was responsive and so awesome - she instantly made us feel at ease. The weeks leading up to the wedding, she was reaching out to us to make sure all was okay - and planning an amazing timeline for us for the big day. The day of the wedding - it was like hanging out with a family member or best friend who is AMAZING at taking pictures. She has an amazing bright personality and is so much fun! Now let's talk about the pictures - WOW WOW WOW! We knew she was an incredible photographer from looking at her work - but holy cow! We could not be happier with the photography from our wedding day! She had the photos back to us less than a week after our wedding! Allison is just absolutely incredible - do yourself a favor and hire her for your photographer - I promise you will not regret it! -

I knew Allison was the photographer I needed for my wedding day within the first five minutes of our intro call/facetime. She radiates joy, openness, and kindness. Throughout the planning process, she was organized yet flexible. She's also incredibly well-versed in weddings on the coast and so she essentially planned out when we should do the ceremony, post-ceremony photos, and reception based on the sunset times, golden hours times, etc. I was all over the place with my planning and she encouraged me and guided me. On the day-of, she was positive, easy-going, but kept us on track to get the photos we wanted/needed/didn't know we needed! She edited the photos quickly, without sacrificing quality. They are like works of art. I should also mention that she somehow simultaneously became everyone's friend at our small wedding AND was sneakily unobtrusive/behind the scenes. I don't live in NC but will definitely be calling her again for future family photos, etc. when we are back in the area. -

Allison is amazing!
We had our beach wedding on 9/18/2021 and we couldn't be more happy with our decision to have Allison capture every amazing moment on our special day. She is genuine, kind, and great at what she does. The communication before, during, and after the wedding was top notch. She made sure to make us feel comfortable by following our requests to not take many staged photos but rather more "in the moment" and candid photos. Her personality truly paired well with what we were wanting in a photographer. We actually already have our developed photos and they are spectacular and definitely did not appear rushed for editing. We added on the unique film package that is offered and are excited to receive those in the mail soon - we already got a preview of them and love it! Absolutely Brilliant!
Allison took on the unique challenge of photographing a very private ceremony between myself and my partner and with the inclusion of our son. She went above and beyond for the entire ceremony and thereafter. She quickly responded to our ideas, suggested times to surround a beautiful beach sunset for our session and ultimately just made us (true introverts) feel so comfortable. She also happily took on the photo pose suggestions of our 7 year old and did it with such grace and kindness. What made this experience even better, was receiving the link to our photos in less than two days, which is unreal. And absolutely breathtaking photos at that.
All of our family and friends just couldn’t get over the quality of this photography. Allison is wonderful. Would recommend to anyone with any kind of occasion they want captured. -

Allison is not only an incredible photographer, but a genuine and amazing person as well. She quickly responds to emails and always follows up on questions and inquiries. Allison is able to find the beauty in any and all situations and was able to adapt to every situation. When rain was in the forecast, we emailed Allison in a panic. My husband and I met Allison at a wedding expo (when those were allowed) in Wilmington. We instantly hit it off ended up booking her for our wedding. That was the best decision we made for our wedding!! Allison is sweet, kind, caring and attentive to your wedding date.
Covid has made wedding planning really interesting, along with a family emergency two weeks before the wedding and I threw a LOT of changes at Allison. She handled the changes so well and was willing to do what felt like anything for me! She was so professional while letting her personality shine through. I feel like Nick and I made a life long friend AND also a lifelong photographer.
She met with me pre-wedding and discussed our day of time line and helped create that. She also provided a lot of insight into the “Wilmington wedding” world and gave great suggestions of other vendors to use.
The photos she did were truly amazing. She told us what to do so we did not feel awkward and was such a calming presence during really nervous times. She got all the photos I wanted and was willing to add in some last minuet random photos. They are something we will cherish for forever and could not be happier. -

We hired Allison from Lightbloom Photography for our 2022 wedding after spending almost three hours on FaceTime getting to know each other. I knew after 5 minutes she was ‘the one’ but somehow we talked for hours. She took our engagement photos a few months later and they turned out SO INCREDIBLE. She put us at ease the entire time and made the experience so enjoyable. And the photos. OMG. We loved every single one, which is so not like us (me). We have received so many compliments on how amazing they turned out and we owe it all to Allison. She has also provided us so much advice for other aspects of our wedding and I can’t imagine not having found her. We cannot wait for her to photograph our wedding. She is truly amazing!!!! -

Allison is absolutely wonderful! We hired her for our wedding photos, but when we met her it felt like we had been friends forever. She makes you feel at ease, gives you direction when needed and captures wonderful moments perfectly, she is professional, impressively timely with getting your pictures edited and back to you, and extremely talented. Due to COVID our 140 guest wedding changed to 17. Our last minute venue was a neighborhood club house with just a few trees, but the pictures Allison gave us were out of a fairy tale forest! We absolutely love them! We HIGHLY recommend Allison! -

Allison was absolutely fantastic from the moment we met her at our engagement shoot. I’m not one to normally like photos of myself but she did such an amazing job for our engagement photos that we booked her for the wedding right away. She was super friendly and easy to get a long with. My guests loved her and she was able to capture some of the most amazing photos even in the rain and humidity. We loved so many of our wedding photos that we are having a hard time deciding which ones to print for the house because we want them all. We’d already chosen our venue (at the totally spectacular Ironclad Brewery) and little did we know, but they have an amazing photographer who works there too! We met Allison at a wedding show the brewery was hosting and right from the start, she was so bubbly, friendly and excited to meet us!! We saw a bit of her work and were absolutely blown away with the samples we saw. She does more natural looking photography and definitely puts her own artsy spin on things. We immediately knew she was the one! She was great with communication the whole time we were planning and was so open to ideas I’d found or things I wanted to try. We finally got to work with her on our big day and we couldn’t have asked for a better photographer. She was warm and friendly with everyone she met that day and she jumped on any opportunity to get an awesome shot of details or the big stuff too. She even stole us away for some sunset pics and made everything just so darn perfect! Needless to say when we finally saw the images, we were utterly speechless! Her creativity and artistic abilities brought our beautiful wedding day to life in her pictures. We couldn’t have dreamed that our treasured memories would be so perfectly captured, but Allison has done exactly that! We are beyond thrilled with how everything turned out and we will certainly be using her again in the future for family pictures! -

Nicole Sent on 06/18/2018My husband, Justin, and i got married on June 16, 2018 in Whitehouse, OH. I knew as soon as we got engaged that i wanted to use Allison / Lightbloom Photography. There was never an option for me. I had been seeing her work for years and loved it. I reached out to Allison for pricing and went from there. She is so responsive to emails, i don’t think there was one time she didn’t answer me within the same day. She is very helpful and so sweet! It was about a year before the wedding when we first got in touch and she helped with any questions or concerns i had. She did our engagement pictures during a trip home in September and they were BEAUTIFUL. I’m still in love with them 9 months later. And then she did even better with the wedding. She was accommodating to any shots i thought i might want, she handled my wild and crazy but still fun wedding party without even blinking and i feel like we all just had a great day! She’s so easy to work with and get along with. Sometimes during the day (first dances, ceremony) i couldn’t even tell she was there which was perfect for my husband because he is camera shy so he didn’t feel awkward with a camera always pointed at him. Long story short, Allison is amazing. Her pictures are amazing. I am 100% over the moon with our results and would recommend her to anyone. -

She was super responsive, made us feel completely natural, and was so easy to work with. I felt like I was hanging out with my friend instead of posing for a camera. And most importantly, our pictures came out so so so wonderful. I am absolutely thrilled with them. I keep looking at them over and over again and thinking - is this actually MY wedding? They are so beautiful - I cannot believe they are mine. The way she works with natural light to make us look our absolute best, is so impressive.
