Excellent DJ

Josh is an excellent DJ. Everything went very smoothly. He played music that all of our guests enjoyed. He had an awesome light display that everyone loved. I would recommend him to anyone!

Just Do it!

Just do it! If you are debating on hiring him, do it. He was great, all my guest had a great time and some even asked for his information for their weddings. He was flexible, followed instructions to a T and asked questions when needed. Over all so happy with his price and the experience. I would highly recommend this company for your wedding/event! Amazing dj!

Josh was awesome! He completely made our night. Yes, any DJ can play music but it takes someone special to elevate the night and that is exactly what he did. He was the total MC for the night and by doing so, he allowed my bride and I to relax and actually be present for our friends and family. He threw one heck of a party and we were dancing all the way until the end of the night.
On top of being great with the music and entertainment, he was FANTASTIC with our kids. They had a million questions about his equipment and he was so kind and patient. They hung out with him most of the night and he was incredibly accommodating. It was that little touch that made Josh stand out to us. I HIGHLY recommend him!!

Amazing day

Amber and Josh were amazing the whole time. From the initial meeting to the planning of songs to the big day. They even dressed up for my Harry Potter wedding the room looked amazing the uplighting was amazing and the banners were great. Would definitely recommend:)

Awesome!! Reasonably Priced

Josh was perfect for us and so reasonably priced. We had some recommendations for him that he gladly accepted, but we also trusted him with the rest of the music. Our guests did not leave the dance floor until our sparkler exit! My husband and I also were on the dance floor a great portion of the night thanks to the fun dance music!

Amazing Job!

Light up the Sound was incredible! Josh made our Event in Milford so much fun. He got crowds excited and had people doing Karaoke in the street. We have several requests to bring him back for our next event.

Best day of my life!

Amber was one of the best decisions we made for our big day. She was so responsive, fun, and professional. My family and friends cannot say enough about our DJ and how much fun they had. Our reception was an absolute blast and we have Amber and Light Up the Sound to thank for that. I would absolutely recommend this DJ, you will not be disappointed!

Incredible dj!

Where do I start? Josh, thank you for everything. You were always willing to answer my texts, respond to my emails, download special songs, go over anything I had questions about. You offered to help upgrade our package close to the date to fit our needs. You met with us at a coffee house to ensure our timeline was what we wanted, and fit our vision. On the day of, you were on time, looked sharp and were ready to party! You had everything I sent you to ensure the night went smooth. You were so flexible with whatever I wanted to do at my wedding. Amber was amazing!!!! She was on top of EVERYTHING and we were so blessed to have her!!! Right from the start she was beyond helpful, fun to work with and is the best at what she does!! I look back now and realize without her our wedding would not been as organized and ran so smoothly!! It was the best day of my life!! And I have Amber to thank for that!!

Light Up The Sound (Josh) was great to work with. Our guests commented positively on the music and presentation of the party. We were also pleased with how well Josh was able to coordinate with other vendors and keep the party moving along. Our wedding had lots of moving parts during planning, so changes in plans didn't seem to bother Josh at all. He was able to set up quickly and we experienced no technical issues at all. Highly recommended.

Josh was the best DJ! His music and light show kept my guests dancing the whole night. I had so many compliments on my DJ!! I knew he would rock because I had seen him before and knew I wanted him for my wedding. I highly recommend him for an amazing reception!!

I am so happy we decided to go with Josh at Light Up The Sound. One of my biggest concerns was having an empty dance floor. Josh did not disappoint - every time I looked over at the dance floor, it was PACKED. He could definitely tell what type of music and vibe our guests enjoyed, and would play into that. He was always so easy to get into contact with, and genuinely wants to make your day special and-stress free. We had a packed day, but Josh was able to maneuver around it all. Even though we didn't get a chance to meet until the wedding day, I was super confident that he would do a wonderful job - which he did.

We really enjoyed working with Josh and Light up the Sound for our wedding. He was very attentive to what we wanted and was in frequent communication with us when needed. Josh was great in keeping the night moving as far as the evening's schedule was concerned. We also had many unique songs we wanted played during the ceremony and reception and Josh made sure he had them. An overall great experience and we would receommend Josh and light up the Sound for any event you might be planning.

LUTS was a great choice for our wedding. Amber supported and guided my fiancé and I as the day got closer, played every song we provided in advance AND help create so many memorable moments on our day. She was awesome! It was 80-degrees on my wedding day. I was hot, tired, and a ball of emotions and Amber helped keep me going the whole evening with a great vibe. But to begin, she had the best approach to every piece of our timeline to keep us on track. The guests loved her. People could not stop telling me how much they loved her personality behind the mic. We had a great moment for the children too! Also, she helped my 'maid and I have a really special moment with my now husband... When I sang to him. She worked with the piano player to have him hooked into her system AND she brought an extra mic so that we were comfortable as we sang. She made it all possible! Give them a call - the Starlight package is worth it and Amber is awesome!! I had an outdoor reception by the way. So great for the atmosphere. Thanks LUTS! And happy planning, everyone.

This guy is the best. He is very friendly and knows what he is doing. Helped us out with any questions and concerns right away. Helped all night with the schedule we were thinking and advice on when to do things. Played great music all event and takes requests. I will be giving his number to anyone I hear needs a DJ.

If you are looking for a DJ seriously stop your search here, Josh is AMAZING! To begin with, he met us in person, in the middle of a snowstorm, to go over the contract. He was incredibly kind and enthusiastic as well as not pushy about his services like many other vendors we came across. You honestly cannot beat his prices and he nailed everything perfectly. He found hard to locate music, followed our long (probably annoying) playlist, hit every single cue for our wedding, and went above and beyond. He kept our dance floor packed and even offered our guest to karaoke. He made sure he got the details he needed to pull it off without a hitch. He did both our ceremony and reception and I honestly could not be more happy or grateful we chose him for our wedding. If you are looking for someone who is going to make the music for your day perfect, Josh is it. Our guests keep asking about who did our music and I happily refer them to Light Up the Sound. I really want to throw a party just to hire him again!

I was the event coordinator for our gymnastics team award banquet. We had two graduating seniors and a personalized video presentation to show our 250 guests when it was discovered that the projector we had brought to use wasn't working. I found Light up the Sound's contact information through a google search of the area and called them at 6 pm in a panic. Not only did they get us the equipment needed within 45 minutes, it was set up before dinner was over! We will definitely use them again and our venue, 59 West Banquet Center, will be sure to add them to their preferred vendor list. Thank you so much Josh and Randy! You saved our event.

I cannot thank Josh at Light Up the Sound enough for making our wedding day so memorable. He was on top of everything. He was flexible as we were a bit behind schedule, he played all of the songs and artists that we requested, and he really kept people dancing and having fun the entire night! So many people were dancing it was amazing. I love that he even left a microphone on the dance floor which encouraged many people to sing! Not only that, but he was the best priced DJ I could find. Josh is amazing! I showed him the venue and he was able to use the amount of lights we wanted and even suggested using these columns that went with the elegance of the venue! My husband and I had come up with a list of songs that really fit our personalities and were quite random but Josh played them and was really flexible and willing to help us create the environment we wanted for our wedding! My Maid of Honor did her speech to the Fresh Prince of Belairs theme song (hilarious) and she informed Josh of her plans and he played the music for her and kept the suprise ?? It was an amazing event and Im so grateful for Josh's expertise and flexibility!! PS I definately recommend uplighting....it made a huge difference.

Josh was great to work with for our daughter's wedding. He even made a special trip to meet us at the venue a few months before the event because he hadn't worked there before. He and his associates arrived early the day of the wedding to set up the three areas we needed sound. He provided the music and microphones for the ceremony; music for the cocktail area; and lighting, music, and microphones for the reception area, all for a very reasonable cost. The DJ table and lighting for the dance floor was set up perfectly for the space--Josh laid it out in a way that fit even better than what we had envisioned. He provided suggestions for special dances and an entertaining game for the bride and groom. He also did a good job of keeping our guests engaged. He was very accommodating to our requests and really went out of his way to make sure everything went the way we wanted it to. I would absolutely recommend Josh and Light Up the Sound, and will surely call them again in the future!

Josh was the DJ for our October wedding and we couldn't be any happier with the services that he provided. We did the music, lighting and uplighting package and we got so many compliments on how the dance floor looked and the way the lights made our room look like a dream. Josh had no problem consulting with me and my wife and I as many times as needed, getting set up early and kept our dance floor PACKED all night with amazing music. He also did our ceremony music and surprised us with a bubble machine blowing tiny little bubbles before and after our ceremony. The level of customer service he put into our night was amazing. We had no worries that anything would go wrong and he kept the music and night flowing perfectly all night. When we told him the night before that we would have glow sticks for our guests, he surprised us again the next day at the wedding with a sign on his table that said "Let Love Glow" and had our glow sticks displayed all over, it was a nice touch. My wife had a lot of specific requests for music and he took care of them all. From her extensive dinner playlist, reception music and before the ceremony music as well as all of the special dance song, he did it all and made her so happy. He was great on the mic when he needed to be, and even encouraged us to sing along to songs when the night got really wild. I would recommend Josh and his company to everyone for his talent and compassion for his craft, as well as his amazing customer service and affordability. Next time we have a party, we know who to call!

What an amazing experience with light up the sound. I had chosen a completely different company, with the them I was never able to get a fast response, they didn't seem like they cared one bit. That's when I found josh at light up the sound. I can't even begin to describe the awesome, professional, caring job he did. You can tell when you have a good dj, but with josh it was even more then great, it was truly a spectacular experience. As a bride, this is what you want, someone who truly cares about what they do and make it the best night for everyone. It was the best time of my life, thanks so josh and light up the sound!

He did an excellent job dealing with the brides mother and the brides demands, not to mention them changing their minds every 3 seconds... lol I would recommend Light up the Sound dj services to anyone and everyone. I would highly recommend light up the sound for any event. Amber was the dj for my wedding and she was amazing. We received so many compliments about the music and lighting. She was very professional, friendly, and easy to work with. She made everything perfect and stress free for my husband and I. She got to my wedding hours early just to set up and make sure everything was ready and perfect which made me so happy and not have to worry about any last minute issues. During the wedding Amber played great music and didn't mind my drunk guests making crazy song requests! The lighting was also great and fit the mood of our party. We originally only scheduled to have her stay till midnight but when the time came the party was still going strong and she agreed to stay an extra hour with a smile on her face. Josh was amazing and did a wonderful job on my daytime wedding. He played all the songs I'd asked to hear and also had no problems taking requests from my guests. We even got to do a little karaoke! I highly recommend Josh for any event!

Josh is a great person to work with! He provided lighting, video and special effects for a video shoot with George Clinton and my band at the Masonic Temple in Detroit and also at the Associated Food and Petroleum Dealers black tie gala at Penna's of Sterling (I am in charge of stage, lighting, sound and entertainment for the event). First class person, great staff, and a fantastic lighting and video show for our clients. Josh and Kyle were great. Very timely (which is my favorite quality) and professional. I loved the vast variety of songs offered for karaoke, and the equipment was excellent. It added just the right amount of pizzazz that we needed. We will definitely keep Light Up The Sound in our thoughts for future events.

The service provided far exceeded our expectations. We had a large crowd with many different demands for music often needing to be downloaded from guests' phones and online. Josh was engaging with everybody, keeping the music pumping when the event slowed down at times and cracking a few jokes at the mic. He arrived two hours early to set up equipment and ensure I didn't need any help on other technology I was working on outside his contracted assignment... helping me with power points and other music downloads. Josh is attentive to details, highly organized and friendly with an "everything matters" attitude. When several teens pleaded with him to stay longer to finish playing a couple of karaoke songs, he cheerfully agreed ending his work with us 30 minutes later than originally planned. The consummate professional, I will hire his services again and again!

Josh's company provided karaoke equipment for my daughter's graduation party. Every email was answered promptly. Everything happened exactly as I was told it would. The equipment was very user friendly and of excellent quality. The staff who delivered/set up/picked up the equipment were very friendly, approachable and competent. The cost was reasonable. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect experience. If you have singers in your group, karaoke is a great way to keep your event energized and fun.

Light up the sound offered me more than any other DJ I researched and at a lower price. I had control over what songs I did not want played and the ability to request certain songs I wanted played. They have a wide variety of lighting and even surprised me with a few special ones they knew I would like. I will definitely use them again.

My husband and I were married in July 2014 and we are still getting compliments on how much fun our wedding was; this revolved around our DJ! Not only was the Light Up the Sound crew professional, they listened to everything I asked of them and more! I provided them with a play list of songs I wanted and an order of what I wanted done-- they did it! I met the DJ's that would be at our wedding weeks before the actual day; communication until the day of the service was excellent! I cannot stress this enough! Our DJ's didn't just play music, they brought our reception to life with the basic package of lights and sound. They made sure the ceremony started on time, the correct music was played (and didn't drown out my guests), my entire wedding party was announced, the DJ's ran interference for me (the bride) and the venue staff regarding timing of dinner, transitioning to dances, and making general announces (garter toss, cake cutting, etc.) Once the traditional stuff was out of the way, at the request of a crazy guest, the DJ's also offered karaoke for my wedding party and guests. I love supporting small business and I feel I got more than what I paid for with Josh and Light Up The Sound! Josh was professional, got back to me quickly with all of my questions and treated me like I was his VIP client. What made him stand out for me is that he let me completely control my playlist from the first song to the last. He anticipated my needs and with the details that we went over before my wedding, I never had to worry about anything in the music department. He knew what needed to be done and when and never had to approach either myself or anyone in my party to see what I wanted done next. It was a tremendous weight off my shoulders! Lastly, I have never seen better competitive pricing for what I paid for. Most DJs I researched cost more for JUST audio than what I got with Josh with audio AND lights! He made my head table and my dance floor sparkle. I have recommended him to all of my friends and I cant wait to host another event just to work with him again. Light Up the Sound was everything we needed at the right price. Josh was our DJ for our wedding, and he was so flexible, great with making professional announcements, and was responsive to both our needs, and to the guests' needs during our reception. The Party didn’t Stop!!!

We had Josh DJ our wedding and he took all of our requests and concerns into account. He has a great fun personality and kept the dance floor packed all night! He was quick when he was given a request from a guest. Our guests were having so much fun they didn’t want to leave the dance floor when the night ended....literally! Our wedding coordinator and the bartenders were on the dance floor at one point too! We decided to upgrade our package to include more fun lights and we are so glad we did because it really added to the party atmosphere. If you are looking for a DJ that will have your guests packed on the door floor than Josh is your guy! I would highly recommend him. Thank you Josh for all of your help! You helped make our wedding so memorable.

Josh was great to work with. He follows through with what he says he is going to do. He was responsive to calls/texts, and emails. We rented karaoke equipment for a bday party. Kept the party going!

Light Up the Sound is a quality, excellent- value DJ service. Josh was our DJ, and from the start he was very accommodating to our requests for the wedding and gave us excellent ideas for dances. He also did really well at keeping the party going. I am a huge Backstreet Boys fan and he set the microphone out on the dance floor for multiple songs for an all party karaoke session. All of my friends and I singing "I Want It That Way" on the dance floor will be a memory I have for the rest of my life! He made the reception so much fun.

Josh was a great communicator. The venue looked great with the uplighting and I enjoyed working with him leading up to the wedding. He had very competitive prices. My husband, however, felt that his performance on the day of was a bit lacking, he did not keep the day moving and rolling the way he would have preferred. Overall he did a vey good job.

Fun, engaging DJ but never responded to emails

Light Up the Sound was highly recommended to us by a friend. Josh played a huge part in making our wedding a fun time. He did a great job at getting guests onto the dance floor and keeping them there. We didn't make a specific playlist, but we were more than happy with Josh's song selection. We feel that we got a great value for our money.

Our only quibble with Josh was that he never responded to any of the numerous emails we sent him, even when we asked a specific question or sent a follow-up email. However, Josh was responsive over text message.

This is definitely a minimal frills DJ that will do the job at an affordable price. I had a hard time communicating with him via email as the responses were typically grammatically incorrect, short responses even though I had sent questions about details for the day. On the phone, he seemed to have everything under control and was accommodating to our requests. I wasn't very impressed when he stumbled on announcing our wedding party names but he did a good job keeping the events moving, playing fun/appropriate music, and MCing the games we had.
