Right from the start I knew I made the right choice. She was always very professional but made you feel like she was an old friend at the same time. Her pictures are absolutely gorgeous, well done, and creative. She managed to capture some really great moments. Alyssa was also very flexible when we had to change to a micro wedding for this year and had to switch some time around. I hope to stay in contact with her since she is just that amazing of a person. -

We couldn’t be happier with our decision to work with Alyssa from Life Like Ruby! She shared a gallery from a wedding she did at our venue during our first meeting, which was the reason we wanted to work with her. Her attention to detail is unmatched—she captured every meaningful moment, including the intricate shots of my jewelry. She was also extremely prepared when there was rain in the forecast, she pulled out clear umbrellas!
What truly sets Alyssa apart is her ability to catch spontaneous, heartfelt moments. She was always in the right place at the right time, whether it was a quiet laugh between us during the ceremony or the joyful chaos of our cousin's kids on the dance floor. Every photo feels like a genuine memory frozen in time and the pictures speak for themselves.
Alyssa is not only incredibly talented but also kind, responsive, and thoughtful throughout the entire process. We hired Alyssa to capture our August wedding and she and Erin absolutely knocked it out of the park. Being a creative couple coming from Brooklyn, NY, our hopes and expectations were super high and we had a few out of the box requests. Not only was Alyssa willing to try out some new ideas, but she captured moments that we didn't plan that turned out to be some of our favorites. Alyssa did our engagement shoot as well as our wedding photos - I could not recommend her enough. My husband and I lean more on the camera-shy side - but she made us both very comfortable and let me tell you, the pictures turned out amazing!! During planning she helped with ensuring we had the proper permit for our shooting location and I used her timeline to send to other vendors. Amazing experience from beginning to end!! -

Photos so beautiful I cried
It's hard to put into words what a gem Alyssa is. She was by far one of the best elements of my wedding vendor team. Her communication was excellent, and her planning was superb. Whenever we emailed her, she responded promptly, which was incredibly reassuring for an anxious bride. When we first met her, she explained the process to my husband and me, detailing how the day would unfold. She also encouraged us to have an engagement session, already included in our package, so we could get comfortable with the camera and get to know her better. This turned out to be the best idea. On our wedding day, seeing Alyssa again felt like meeting a trusted friend.
One aspect we love about Lifelikeruby is how they ensure the day doesn't feel consumed by photography. While there are some planned portraits, Alyssa's candid skills are truly unmatched.
THE PHOTOS SHE TAKES ARE TRULY AMAZING. Yes, that was in all caps on purpose. Alyssa has an innate talent for capturing the emotions of her subjects. This was one of the reasons we chose her, and seeing her work of us was phenomenal. She helped keep us on schedule, and her calm, collected energy was exactly what we needed on a busy day. She was so fun to work with, and our bridesmaids and groomsmen enjoyed the portrait sessions with her and her team, laughing the entire way through. The quickness with which she delivered our engagement photos and sneak peeks after the wedding was impressive.
Alyssa is the best, and I would recommend her anytime. I'm already thinking about future life events we can have Alyssa capture because she is truly that good. -

For two introverts, Alyssa made us feel at ease and the photography process easy. We met with Alyssa on two separate days; two days prior to the wedding date, to get photos of the bride and groom, and then again on the day of the wedding. From the get go, Alyssa was easy to work with. She took time to listen to how we envisioned our day, and the shots that were important to us. She was very easy to talk to, communicated well, and was on time for both days of the photo shoots. I want to add that for the day of the wedding, Alyssa had a second shooter to help her out so nothing was missed. Ben, the second shooter was just as professional, and easy to get along with. We recently got a preview of a portion of the photographs, and we could not be more pleased with the final product. For two people who really do not like being the center of attention, Alyssa and Ben put us at ease. We would definitely recommend Alyssa to a friend or another family member, because she made the whole process a breeze. Thank you Alyssa! We look forward to seeing the final pictures! -

Alyssa has been fantastic to work with - she had helpful advice and was reassuring and positive during the planning process and throughout our wedding day. We live overseas and Alyssa was able to accommodate our 12-hour time difference by meeting with us on Zoom. On our wedding day, Alyssa and her second shooter, Caity, helped us achieve lots of fun, spontaneous shots on the boardwalk and accommodated our requests for family and friend group shots during the reception. Alyssa has a great eye and encouraged us to have fun and be ourselves throughout the day. She also shared our sneak peek just a few days after the wedding! The pictures are beautiful so far and the relaxed, playful atmosphere she helped create comes through in every photo. I would highly recommend hiring Alyssa! -

Alyssa was truly the greatest wedding photographer we could have ever imagined. She went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable - she even made the trek from PA to NYC to do our engagement photos! One thing that was important to us was to not feel like our wedding photographer was in our faces during the big day and she was like a ninja! We love her photography style and couldn't be happier with the photos we received. Would highly highly recommend her to anyone looking for incredibly high quality photos that will last a lifetime. Working with Alyssa was one of the best parts of the wedding planning and wedding day experience for us. She is personable and friendly and an incredible artist with a gifted eye. She made us feel completely at ease and was flexible and open to our ideas. She came to our home at sunrise to take photos of us on our deck where we got engaged for our engagement shoot. Her photographs capture the sweetest, silliest, and most heart felt moments and she made us look great to boot! During the planning process she was so organized and efficient and laid out a day-of schedule that helped keep us organized and helped us to understand what to expect. The day of our wedding during our outdoor ceremony it poured rain. We were initially sad about the weather, but Alyssa worked with it and the photos turned out dreamier than we could have hoped for. We are actually glad it rained and can’t picture it any other way now! If you’re looking for a photographer for your special occasion or a special moment, you would be crazy not to work with Alyssa. You will not be disappointed. We and our entire family are still gushing over the photos she took from the wedding and can’t stop looking at the ones we have so far (and we are only talking about the preview!) -

I cannot say enough good things about Alyssa. Not only were the pictures absolutely stunning and everything we hoped for, she was so incredibly kind, responsive and great to have around on the wedding day. As someone who is not comfortable in front of a camera, she made me feel at ease and truly felt like one of the girls that day. Dream Wedding Photographer!
Working with Alyssa was a dream - and we can't recommend her enough!!! From our first interaction, to our engagement session/photos, to our wedding day, Alyssa was there every step of the way. She's so approachable, insanely sweet and down to earth, professional, talented, organized, and and overall pleasure to be around. I felt like she understood what was most important to us and really had our back. She captured our day in the way we always wanted and played such an integral part in actually helping us to enjoy the day (seriously did not want her to leave!!). Our album is absolutely stunning and we just can't get enough.. in both albums we received, it has been impossible to pick a favorite. (The best problem to have and one I personally have never had before! Which speaks volumes.) Her eye and editing style are second to none and we just feel so lucky to have had her as our photographer on our most important day. -

Alyssa was so amazing to work with! Her photos speak for themselves but she is also a wonderful person! She was so responsive and was flexible to our needs. She took the time to address any concerns we had and was so patient as we made decisions.
Her photos are so beautiful, our preview gallery made me tear up multiple times. She totally understood our vision for the day and my husband and I are so happy to have beautiful photos of not just us but also of our parents. We are so excited to get our full gallery back.
She was also so wonderful to have with us on such a big day. She felt like a friend, so friendly and enjoyable to be around. She was flexible and happy to run outside with us for a late picture we wanted to take with the moon.
Basically Alyssa is wonderful! Some of our friends who are getting married next year have already asked for her info. Can’t recommend her enough! -

If you are thinking of hiring Alyssa as your photographer, DO IT! She made us feel so comfortable from our first phone conference. We had an engagement shoot with her first and she was so flexible with finding a date that worked for us and our pictures came out AMAZING! Booking Alyssa as our wedding photographer was the easiest and best decision I made during the whole wedding planning process. I’m the type of person who needs to evaluate every option, but she was so easy to talk to during our initial call that I decided to book her right after. I was really anxious leading up to our engagement shoot because my partner and I are not photo people, but Alyssa made us feel so comfortable and told us how to pose while making it still feel and look natural. She made sure we hit all the locations I wanted to go to and our engagement photos came out so much better than we could have imagined. We received so many compliments, and I was confident that our wedding photos would be just as great. During the weeks leading up to the wedding, I was stressed about the timeline and indecisive on where to shoot. Alyssa listened to all of my concerns and assured me that she would worry about all of it so I wouldn’t have to. She even visited my venue and came up with 2 routes of nearby photo locations for me to pick from. Throughout this whole process, Alyssa has been super responsive to all my of questions and her excitement over our big day made me even more excited! You can tell she has a creative eye, is passionate about her photography and enjoys being with her couples. Shooting with Alyssa feels like taking photos with a close friend. Alyssa is THE BEST. Truly, truly incredible, and she was absolutely integral in making our overall wedding experience fantastic, both in the moment and in her radiant, spectacular photography. As one of the couples whose wedding plans were endlessly postponed due to the pandemic and were somewhat stressed out about if we'd made the right decision on the date/venue/everything (since we were already legally married last year but with less than 10 people attending), we were so lucky that Alyssa was the first non-wedding party member that either of us encountered on our day. Her vibrancy and kindness instantly relieved any and all stress for us both because her energy reminded us of what this day was intended to be - a celebration - and we couldn't be happier. Not only is her photography better than we EVER could have hoped for - ever - but she's incredibly intuitive of people's comfortability, whether they love being photographed or hate being photographed, without having to ask, and she is accommodating in a way that no one really notices because she's really good at it! And wow, I almost cannot describe how great her photography is without using excessive profanity - it's perfect. She has such a keen eye and knows how to find the right location within fifteen feet of where you're standing and the exact angle that will make for the timeless, immaculate pictures you will cherish forever. Trust me - Alyssa provides miraculously beautiful photography and is thoughtful beyond belief!!! -

Alyssa was friendly, sweat, caring, warm, creative, and easy to work with. From the first time I talked to Alyssa, I was sure that she was the one I would like to work with. She always responded to my emails and text messages fast. She showed her interests in learning about us and our love story, and this made the photos full of our characters. She helped me pick the color palettes for the fall wedding (I used it for my bouquet and the dresses code for my guests), and helped me find some good spots near the courthouse for the first look and the after ceremony photos. On the day, she even went earlier to find the best photo spots for us.
Because of the pandemic, I only got to have a small courthouse wedding with some close friends. Although I only hired Alyssa for two hours, I was surprised for the amount and quality of photos that she provided me. The photos are so beautiful! I can't thank her enough! I highly recommend her to everyone! -

Absolutely Perfect!
Working with Alyssa was an absolutely perfect experience from start to finish. She was SO responsive to all of my emails and calls and understood exactly what I wanted. She was punctual, flexible, funny, efficient, and so genuinely warm on the day of my wedding. Best wedding photographer!
Alyssa is incredible. She is not only a pleasure to work with but she has such an artistic eye. My wedding photos came out better than I could have imagined. She was able to capture the most candid, intimate moments without me even realizing it. She knows how to make everyone feel comfortable and natural in front of the camera. Amazing! I love Alyssa so much.
Alyssa was amazing! When I first saw her albums from past weddings, I knew I had to have her as my wedding photographer! She had the exact look to her photos that I was going for. She was extremely easy to contact throughout the whole process leading up to my wedding. The day of the wedding was great! She was there on time and immediately started taking pictures of our venue and a couple candids. She had a few ideas for couple’s portraits, and they all came out great. When I got my photo album back, I cried. All of the pictures came back amazing! We also tried a sparkler picture that Alyssa hadn’t done before, and it worked so well. It is one of my favorite pictures we have. She isn’t afraid to try things she hasn’t done before. Thank you sooooooo much for making my wedding unforgettable -

I can't stop looking at our photos - book her now!
I can't speak highly enough of Alyssa and how perfectly she captured our day! She's a true professional but also has a lighthearted personality that makes you and your guests feel at ease - because who needs more stress on their wedding day? We started with shots of just us in the hotel room and at a street festival nearby, and that time with her was honestly one of funnest parts of the day. We then met up with family and friends for group shots and she was an expert at coordinating everyone, capturing both candid moments and more posed shots. This was on Front Street in Fishtown in front of a bunch of murals, and she literally stopped traffic so she should get the full mural in the shots. She was also great at knowing what we wanted the day of without us really having to communicate it - she kind of just operated in the background so we were able to really enjoy ourselves and really relax, which definitely shows in the photos. Meeting with her beforehand to talk about style, shots we wanted, etc. was really helpful. And then the pictures themselves - like I said, I can't stop looking at them! They're exactly what I had in mind and are the perfect mix of candid and posed. The turnaround was really quick and the site she uses to deliver them was super easy to use and share with family and friends. I can't recommend her enough! -

Alyssa (Life Like Ruby's) was recommended through a friend that had her engagement photos and later on wedding photos done by Life Like Ruby's and I was absolutely in love with the look and feel of the photos. From the moment I had reached out, she remained in touch throughout the process, talking to us like a friend rather than a business transaction. Before and during the wedding, she was just as warm and friendly in person, while remaining professional and not at all intrusive. She has a great eye with finding areas to shoot in (we were limited with our venue), but she was also open to suggestions and creative poses as well. What we really loved was that we didn't feel like we had to keep stopping during the wedding to pose for pictures, unless we specifically wanted a certain picture (besides the portraits we shot before the ceremony). My wedding party loved her as well, and I highly recommend her for any wedding or event! -

Absolutely amazing wedding photographer!
My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Alyssa for our wedding. From the start Alyssa was so friendly with explaining her vision and she has been very responsive to all our questions and requests. Definitely hit the jackpot
If you are looking for someone to capture the love between you and your fiancee, book with Alyssa! From the moment we spoke she was so warm hearted and easy to talk to while still being extremely professional. She provided some ideas for possible shoot locations when we told her we were unfamiliar with the city. She was also super accomodating when our original shoot day was rainy. My fiancee and I are thrilled with our pictures from our engagement shoot. Her a la carte booking style is a welcome change from the standard "package" sessions, and we can't wait to have her shoot our big day as well. Your search for a photographer should end here 😊. I did not know Alyssa before she took my engagement photos, I had only looked at her online portfolio. Turns out, she's even BETTER than the photos she posts online (and those are great!). Hit her up. You'll end up feeling like you didn't pay her enough. I was SO HAPPY with my engagement photos and so was my family, that we had her take our family photos on the Rocky steps and I had her take my wedding photos. I CANNOT BELIEVE I stumbled upon her. What a find! -

You can just tell that Alyssa is inherently creative and talented with a beautiful eye for stunning, unique images. Our engagement shoot and wedding day were lively and memorable; Alyssa provided us with photos that really stand out and perfectly capture the magic of both days. She took the time to understand us as a couple and the specific “look” we wanted for our Save the Dates. On our wedding day we gave her free rein and she did not disappoint! Thanks for everything, Alyssa! We only plan on getting married once, but we hope to book you again for another special event!
UPDATE: We just recently had Alyssa shoot photos for our holiday card and it was impossible to choose which one we liked best! We were even able to include our beloved 75 pound dog and Alyssa did great engaging with him and getting him to cooperate. We're so happy to be repeat clients! -
