We had a small pop-up wedding and wanted to be married outdoors. We were concerned about weather and photography permits at local parks. When we came across the Lichterman Nature Center we knew this was a place! Because out wedding was so small, we only paid the admission fee for ourselves and our four guests. However, I was amazed at what was offered for the typical $500 wedding fee--you have an indoor/outdoor space for your rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception. THIS IS SUCH A STEAL FOR SUCH A GORGEOUS LANDSCAPE! -

Lisa Sent on 07/30/2018Patti Walsh and her team were simply amazing. From the moment I met Patti, I knew I wanted to partner with her for my reception. The venue has multiple options for indoor and outdoor settings and can accommodate ceremony and reception. Patti did a wonderful job of walking my sister and I around the facility offering suggestions on the use of space and guest size allowances. She also walked us through photos from previous weddings to help create a vision of possibilities. I shared my vision with her and chose the pavilion for my outdoor reception Friday, October 13, 2017. Patti had an answer for every question, she was friendly, and she worked above and beyond my expectations. When things did not go quite as planned with my set up crew the day of, Patti went over to the pavilion to see how she could assist. She even stayed that evening just to see me and give me a hug of congratulations! I adored working with her and actually feel like I gained someone in my life who could become a dear friend.

Katie Sent on 03/19/2012Outstanding venue! Bobbie Baker is wonderful and so helpful when planning your event! We had a wedding reception at the nature center and everyone loved the ambiance of the nature displays along with the really lovely architecture of the building itself. We were able to have guests walk the grounds during the reception which made for a truly unique experience. We would absolutely recommend the nature center for your next event! -

Very flexible with vendors, Patti Walsh is just the sweetest woman in the world (would not stop fawning over me in my wedding dress...I just love her), and they allowed me and my parents to come and take measurements, move stuff around, etc. whenever we needed it! The pricing for a June wedding, outdoors, with most of the grounds at your disposal is unheard of, so we snatched it up as quickly as possible.
I will say that the only downside to Lichterman is that you cannot start to set up until 2 pm on the day of the wedding, and all things that aren’t getting picked up by a vendor have to be out by midnight. It wasn’t too much of a task for my wedding, because I had an amazing crew, but just something to be conscious of!

Anna Sent on 07/21/2018It’s is one of the most affordable venues in Memphis. Patti is so great to work with and she is always willing to answer your questions. My only advice with this venue is to be sure you have everything ready to be put up day-of and taken down that night. May need a wedding planner for that job. I did it with family and I wish I had sprung for that extra service.
