My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Liane on our wedding day this past summer, and recommend her very highly to any couple looking for any planning or day of assistance!
Our start with Liane was a little untraditional in that we had a change of plans from another coordinator/planner who could no longer make our event, and she sent us to Liane - about a month prior to the wedding. While we were momentarily stressed about this change, we quickly realized we had no reason to worry.
Liane jumped in and did not miss and single beat, she immediately was well familiarized with our vision, plans, preferences, challenges, etc. She worked quickly, efficiently and accurately to get up to speed with us and go above and beyond to make our wedding day impossibly smooth!
The day of our wedding, I cannot say a single thing went wrong and I firmly believe a lot if not all of that is thanks to Liane and her team. As the bride I didn’t notice or see anything off plan or out of place, our guests were very well taken care of, as were the groom and I. I told her my 2 non negotiables were getting married and getting a slice of cake, and she made sure both happened without any issues! She even calmly but firmly ushered the groom away from the bar and back to me, and got his drink out for him.
If you want somebody who will be there right along side your vision and wedding dreams - who can clearly thrive even with minimal direction and time - Liane is the one for you. Your wedding day, you and your partner, friends, family, and vendors will all be cared for and on the same page.
Obviously I hope this is my one and only marriage, but if I ever did it again I’d choose Liane again - and recommend her up and down to anybody and everybody looking for these services.Liane McCombs Wedding & Event Planning's reply:

I can't say enough about Liane and her team!! We selected the partial planning package and I felt at ease after the first phone call. Liane was full of ideas and all her recommendations were spot on for our wedding vision.
Day of the wedding was just the best. I knew Liane had our vision and the ceremony and reception venue was just gorgeous! She completely nailed it. It was even more beautiful than I imagined. She thought of details I hadn't considered. Liane and her team handled everything with grace and elegance. I thoroughly enjoyed the day thanks to them. I so appreciate their professionalism and attention to details. -

My Husband and I hired Liane McCombs for her "Partial Planning" package for a May wedding 2022.
While we were disappointed with many things that happened through the year of planning (such as her trying to convince us not to have a rehearsal, because it didn't fit into her schedule). It all came to a head when she cancelled the day before the wedding. She sent an email at 10am (which I didn't see until 6PM because I was running around doing things for the wedding) explaining that she had the flu and would not be able to make it. She said she would send some attendants to get things done the next day. When I asked her for their contact info because I would like to speak with them to have some peace of mind, she said she would not share that information until the next morning after she had met with them to "go over our file." It was completely unprofessional to send this information in an email. She should have gotten on the phone and relayed this information to me. I decided not to respond beyond that, as I was in the midst of trying to plan what we were going to do if the "attendants" didn't show up. At this point I had no faith that Liane would do the right thing.
I will say that the coordinator, Jaimie-Lee, that she assigned to our case did a good job with what she had to work with. If I had to go back in time, I would have just hired Jaimie from the start.
Our experience was backed up by one of our vendors when I explained the situation to them. They said that they would have never recommended that we use Liane if we had asked.Liane McCombs Wedding & Event Planning's reply:
While we always work diligently and thoughtfully to please each and every client, sometimes we are simply unable to do so, no matter our best attempts. Our business consists of a qualified team with assistants who we have been professionally trained and who are always ready when I am personally unable to attend, to execute the client's file details on the wedding day. In this specific case, which was originally thought of as the flu, ended up being Covid. For over fifteen years, we have always provided the finest professional wedding coordination in the Tahoe region, and we made every attempt to satisfy this client's needs as well.

Liane and her staff were exceptional! We got married at Valhalla in South Lake Tahoe and hiring our wedding planner was one of the first venders we hired. She was referred to us by our contact at Valhalla and started working with her last February. We live in LA, so Tahoe was a destination wedding for us. Liane, helped with referrals and suggestions to help our planning much smoother. We got married September 23, 2021, so the Caldor fire was a factor. She reached out to me once Tahoe got evacuated and suggest we do a "plan B" just in case. She found us an alternative venue in Reno and contacted all my vendors and everyone was on board if we needed to move it. Thankfully we didn't and everything worked out the way to was originally planned. Liane is first-class. My 10 year old daughter passed out during our ceremony and Liane ran right up to her sat with her, got her some cheese. We wanted someone to help day of. Liane did this beautifully. She was professional, attentive, assertive, and sweet all rolled into one. She knows her stuff which was helpful because our only vision was something low key, but elegant. She was able to help us coordinate vendors and set up the ceremony so that it went off without a single hiccup.
She made our tables gorgeous. She soothed a scared kiddo. She provided a steady arm down old stairs.
We wanted to focus on the day and our loved ones, without thinking about the details and Liane made that happen. From the moment she walked in the door she took charge but never felt intrusive or pushy. It was lovely working with her.Liane McCombs Wedding & Event Planning's reply:

Liane helped us plan our wedding from 12/2018 through the day of our wedding 9/7/2019. After contacting multiple planners, Liane was by far the most responsive and professional planner we spoke to. We got married in Lake Tahoe and Liane was was very knowledgeable about the area and all the vendors. She listened to our needs and made great recommendations based on that. She was very active with us the first couple of months, then we went a bit silent once we had confirmed most vendors, then a couple months before the wedding, it was back to active calls and emails. The day of the wedding, Liane and her team did a very professional job at making sure everything went according to plan.
Liane offers a few different service packages and we went with the full/get everything package, because we didn't want to miss anything. However, knowing what I know now we probably would have been fine with less expensive option. Regardless, Liane did an amazing job and our wedding was beautiful. She was extremely responsive and never failed to answer an email or phone call (almost instantly!). Her team made sure our wedding day went smoothly and that everything was beautiful. I hired Liane's company's services for my 8/24/19 wedding at Squaw Valley Resort in Tahoe. In preparation for my wedding, Liane was professional, calm, organized and collected. Prior to the wedding we had phone calls to talk through my plan, and she always had great questions and anticipated some things I hadn't even thought of. Her team member, Denise, was my day of coordinator and did a wonderful job. It was as if Denise was a little wedding fairy running around and doing everything I had requested on my list and according to the timeline - the day was flawless and so wonderful. I couldn't be more appreciative of their services and so happy that I hired someone to help execute my wedding day! Hiring a coordinator was a really great choice, even for someone like me who considers herself a very organized bride but couldn't possibly have managed day-of without this service.
