Dream Dress

I heard it so many times; “ the first place you visit for a wedding dress will be the one. “ We were determined to only look when we went to L’Fay. They had all the dramatic, different and gorgeous dresses, perfect first place to visit.
Well we never left, with the expert help of our new friend Melissa we found the one, The dream, the grown up princess dress,
They made the whole experience seamless, even through Covid, they received our dress in time from designer #millanova. Then the work began, with our expert tailor Randy. Look he’s a genius with scissors, the glamour girl guru. He was just the right amount of bossy and trust me ! We did and the dress was custom fitted to perfection ! He knew all the tricks and tips even for how to walk and take photos. The magic bustle buttons, held up though, photos, dancing and getting lifted on a chair. Jackie looked like a fairy princess, there wasn’t one guest who didn’t comment on the beauty of the dress! Thank you L’Fay for making this a magical experience from start to finish!

the most beautiful berta dress

I had the most incredible experience at L'Fay Bridal. Searching for a wedding dress was not what I had imagined - it was extremely overwhelming and stressful. I went to around 15 stores before going to L'Fay. When I got there, I saw a Berta dress that took my breath away. After trying it on, I knew that this was my dress. Valerie had helped me from the first day - she was really helpful and sweet and knew exactly what I wanted. She was always quick to answer my calls and emails with all of the questions that I had! After I ordered the gown, it took 8-9 months for it to be delivered back to L'Fay. I worked with Amy for my alterations who was a pleasure to work with. She was amazing at her job and never rushed through my appointments. I had around 5 alterations. When I tried on my gown for the last time at my final fitting, it was absolutely perfect - it was a fairytale dress. I am obsessed with my dress!!

My fairy Godmother

Last year August I came into this bridal shop and found my fairy God mother! As coming from another bridal shop I was very discouraged because the dresses I tried one was just not me. We were greeted by this bubbly consultant with amazing tattoos. We tried one 2 dresses and I just wasnt feeling it. Melissa said " you know I know what you want" she came with this dress and as soon as it came out the bag I knew it was it. I had to take it and i really didnt care the cost. She has been so dedicated to my big day its unbelievable. Once again God did what he does best and blessed me yet again. It was a very bitter sweet day saying good bye to Melissa but I will always remember her for her kindness and initiative.

L'Fay Bridal in Manhattan is a breath of fresh air in the craziness that is the New York gown-shopping experience. The boutique is intimate, quiet, and low-stress, offering a very personalized selection process. I was overwhelmed by most bridal boutiques, but Juliana immediately put me at ease and had me look through the (beautiful, curated, and manageable!) selection of dresses to help figure out my style (both for her and myself!). She was so helpful as I chose my dress (did I want lace and form-fitting or a tulle ballgown?!) and I never felt the slightest bit rushed, pressured, or overwhelmed. Amy was also a dream during the alterations process, always making me feel like the best, most beautiful and confident version of myself.

Thank you for making my whole wedding dress process so wonderful. From my first visit trying on dresses to my last alteration, the L'Fay experience was amazingly laid back, personal, and non-stressful. I miss coming in to visit now that I'm married!

My experience at L'Fay was nothing short of perfection. I wanted a truly unique dress, and the selection here was perfectly curated and gorgeous beyond belief. Being a relatively small boutique, you aren't being shuffled around with a million other brides and your dress is seen by the same seamstress every time. The dress that I purchased was completely sheer, which as a relatively conservative bride was daunting, but Amy in alterations was a dream to work with, lining the dress and creating a dramatic neckline that wow'd.

Ivy was so helpful and the fact that they had a good range of sizes to try on made the experience that much easier and pleasing. I love my Cymbeline dress and would never go any where else. Simply the best!

I went along with a friend who is also engaged for her bridal appointment. We had a wonderful time, the staff were great, as were the selection of dresses! I had no clue finding a dress was such a daunting task, but after visiting almost 20 bridal salons ( I know crazy haha)- L'Fay really stood out. They have a beautiful dress selection, the staff is wonderful, and they even special ordered my dress which wasn't carried within their salon.

Abi was my consultant and was beyond amazing. She was super supportive, accommodating, and went above and beyond (even answering emails!!). Dress shopping at times was a bit stressful and she managed to always be so calming and understanding, Val was the same. Amy the seamstress is very talented and meticulous. I also purchased my birdcage there, which was beautifully made.

I was completely unaware and/or prepared for dress shopping and they made my experience positively memorable. Overall an awesome experience, and I am beyond happy with my dress. Thank you L'Fay!!

Wedding dress shopping can be stressful, but at L'Fay Bridal, my experience was easy and comfortable. I had the pleasure of working with Abby. Abby and the L'Fay team were friendly, professional and accommodating, starting when I first came in looking for dresses, to putting the final touches on my wedding gown. Given that my husband and I had a destination wedding, my gown also needed to be shipped. The L'Fay team helped ensure that my dress and veil were packaged with care and sent out on time. I LOVE L'Fay Bridal! I purchased a gorgeous Berta gown for my wedding on my second visit to L'fay. The purchase came with some stipulations. Can we make a major alteration to the dress? Here's what I mean. I loved everything about the dress, BUT the plunging neckline since I am busty. The plunging neckline was going to be a deal breaker until Val spoke with Amy the seamstress and discussed that they could close it for me. Once I was assured of that, I was ready to sign on the dotted line.

A few months later when my dress came in I was EXTREMELY nervous that the closure of the dress wouldn't look or work out as planned. But AMY has magic fingers and was so patient with me and made sure she knew exactly where and how to close it while maintaining the original look and scalloped style of the dress. So then once we discussed the alterations all that I had left to do was wait a week and pray Amy nailed the alteration. Well well well, let me tell you how GORGEOUS AND UNREAL she did it. Like the dress didnt even look like it came any other way! She added lace from other parts of my dress (couldn't even tell) to close the top and it looked like it came that Way! The dress looked even better now that I wasn't too busty and the lace at the top closure blended so naturally I couldn't even see where the original seam was.

As for all of the other consultants, Abby, George, Julianna and Val, they were soooooo sweet patient and wonderful! Val was with me from day 1 and I love her disposition. So calm and patient.

Thank you thank you thank you for everything you all did!!! A special thanks to AMY- the BEST SEAMSTRESS in the world!!!

I have nothing but great things to say about L'fay bridal! I went to other bridal salons and felt overwhelmed and rushed. At L'fay they made me feel extremely comfortable and never rushed. They have a great selection to choose from. If you go to the NYC location ask for Val (she's the best). I'm actually said that my wedding is over because I can't visit a L'fay or Val anymore!

I cannot thank all of the ladies at L'Fay enough for the amazing experience. I started my process by sending Renata some of the dresses I had in mind. I always was particularly fond of a specific Berta dress, which is how I found L'Fay in the first place. Renata contacted me to let me know they were having a trunk sale and that this specific dress would be available for me to try on. She told me she had a feeling this was my dress. Long story short, I only tried that dress on and it was in fact my dress. Val was amazing throughout the fitting process. My family couldn't come with me for the fittings but she always gave her honest opinion and we were always laughing and having fun.

Amy the seamstress is basically a miracle worker. My dress was a size 8 because it was from the trunk show. I'm a size 00. She basically had to remake the entire dress that included a plunging neckline and beadwork. I don't know how, but she did it and it was flawless.

I cannot tell you how many people complimented my dress. It was truly one of a kind and really stood out above the traditional wedding dress. People told me they couldn't have picked a more unique and perfect dress for me.

I'm going to miss all of these ladies and working with them. Enjoy your process, take it all in and best of luck! Go with L'Fay, you won't be disappointed.

If you love Berta Bridal gowns, L'Fay in midtown is the place to go. I admired this designer for years, and never knew these gowns were available to try on in NYC. L'Fay was a heavenly showroom of glistening Berta gowns, individual appointments, and a terrific staff (Kaitlin!!!!) Dresses are pricey, but breathtaking and the structure of them is quality upon quality. You will feel superhuman.

L'Fay was the first stop for what was supposed to be a long weekend of wedding dress shopping. It ended up being my last, and for all the right reasons. I ended up buying the first dress I tried on, but tired on 5 or so more after the first one. I knew it was the first one. My consultant was so friendly and helpful and made me feel like I was the only person in the world getting married. My sister, friend and I had so much fun during the process. I decided on a beautiful Berta gown that was just simply amazing. When it came in, Amy handled all of the alterations. I wasn't quite sure on length or how the dress should fit, but she guided me effortlessly through the process to make sure when I left there I looked the absolute best in my dress. The boutique is cozy itself and hosts some of the most beautiful dresses I have ever seen in my life. Although Berta is expensive it was worth every penny and I am very pleased with my experience at L'Fay.

I purchased my beautiful Berta gown from L'Fay bridal in NYC and had it altered in the NJ store. I was/still am completely obsessed with my gown along with the amazing service I received from the entire L'Fay staff. From start to finish L'Fay always scheduled my fittings into my busy life. As most brides tend to loose weight prior to the wedding, I went for multiple fittings until my gown was absolutely perfect. L'Fay carries beautiful gowns, my guests are still raving about my Berta gown.

You will not find a better bridal boutique in NYC! The people at Cymbeline are incredibly nice and patient - when you go in, you feel like everyone is there just for you. They have unique European designer dresses and I was able to get mine for 1/3 its normal price (because it was a sample dress). I just had my first fitting and I am in love with my dress! Would definitely recommend this boutique to anyone looking for that special experience.

After initially being referred to Cybelline by 2 clients of mine that had gotten their dresses there, I was very excited. It is a very personal boutique with all price points. Margaret & Renee and the seamstress Amy were all delightful. MY DRESS WAS STUNNING! It was everything I had ever hoped for. I shopped for dresses at 7 other NYC bridal shops, and I had 2 at Cybelline that I loved the most out of all. Their personal service was the best and usually I had the whole boutique to myself for fittings!

My search for THE wedding dress was long and often frustrating. I didn’t have a clear idea of what I wanted, yet I was extremely picky. My very last stop was a Berta trunk show at L’Fay. The moment I stepped into THE dress, I knew I’d found it. It had the perfect balance of everything I wanted - unique, dramatic and sexy but at the same time effortlessly elegant and timeless, with a touch of fairy-tale.
Throughout the process of trying on, buying, altering and picking up, all the ladies I interacted with at L’Fay were wonderful. They made my experience easy, authentic and personal. I absolutely loved my experience at Cymbeline L'Fay Bridal! I got my dress shortly after getting engaged last year. I was able to make an appointment at Cymbeline on fairly short notice (within a few days). Prior to this appointment, I had been to a sample sale at Kleinfeld's which was an experience, but did not leave me wanting to come back for an actual appointment. I didn't feel like the staff were very friendly to be honest and was told my budget was too low for 'couture' and that I should spend less on flowers to increase my dress budget. My budget was $2500. I didn't know what to expect at Cymbeline and thought maybe all New York bridal shops would have the same attitude and snootiness, but I was wrong. Upon arrival, Ivy was extremely helpful and so friendly. I told her my budget and she had already picked a few dresses out and tactfully put some of the higher end pieces back, without making me feel bad in any way about it. My best friend, sister and 4-year-old niece came to my appointment. Some bridal shops online said "no children" allowed, so I was worried how Cymbeline L'Fay would be, they were so friendly and even gave my niece (who was my flower girl) a beautiful barrette to wear the day of the wedding (for free, before I had even committed to a gown!). We had champagne, tried on a few dresses and I ended up falling in love with the first dress I tried on. Ivy was so great to work with and when I came back 9 months later for my fittings, Amy, my seamstress there was so wonderful. My dress came out perfect. My experience at Cymbeline L'Fay was so wonderful and I would highly recommend this bridal shop!!

I loved my wedding dress and I love this boutique! To walk in, the studio is so serene and quiet. The layout is fantastic and the ladies don't rush you or harass you at all. The tailor does impeccable work and has an incredible eye. After my final fitting, I essentially felt like I had a couture dress. She really listened to me and took an ball gown dress and made it an a-line. Amazing talent!

I just found and ordered my dress this past Saturday. They had the exact dress I was looking for and the sample I tried on just fit me thank god. I fell in love with the dress and didn't care anymore to try on other dresses. I guess that's how you know it's the one. Renee was the one who helped me and she was great! Everyone there was so nice and made me feel beautiful. The dress was quoted in a previous email exchange prior to my visit but then I found out it was more expensive but Renee kept her word and gave me the quote which I found great in their aspect of customer service. The shop is small but it doesn't matter if you find the one dress and I love how much more personal their service is. I can't wait till my dress arrives and I get to wear it again.

My experience here was perfection. When my friend made an appointment here for me, I was certain that there was no way I would find a dress that fit my low budget. When I walked in, I told them my absolute max budget, and what kind of dress I wanted. The FIRST dress they pulled is the one I got, and within budget! They tailored it perfectly, and I couldn't have been more happy.

Equally importantly, they were not pushy with their additional products at the store. When I told them that I didn't care for any of their sashes, they told me that I may have better luck at a different bridal store or a fabric shop. You have to appreciate their honesty :)

I purchased my gown from Cymbeline L'Fay in January. With my mum and sisters overseas, I was a bit scared of the process so two friends helped me out. After visiting some of the bigger salons, from the moment I walked into Cymbeline I knew it was different - small, attentive, and on a Saturday afternoon, we had the place to ourselves! Renata helped me during my first appointment and she let us go crazy, letting us pick them ourselves to try on. One of my friends picked a dress off a mannequin, which when I tried on, made me feel like a stunning, beautiful bride - it was THE dress!There were no tears, I just felt beautiful and it was so easy to imagine myself doing my first dance in that dress!

Renata was extremely patient. She knew before I did that I would come back, and happily waited while I called my mum and also understood when I said I needed to sleep on it. The next day I called them back to make an appointment, they fit me right in for Monday and this time I went alone - Ivy the manager helped me out as Renata was on leave, and she let me try a few other styles to reinforce that the dress I picked was indeed the dress for me. She stayed late to help me process my order and was super flexible about some modifications I wanted to make the dress truly mine. The alterations lady happened to be there and she was also super flexible when I discussed what I wanted done. All for a VERY reasonable price!

I'm very excited about the gown and I'm looking forward to when it comes in. The designs are beautiful, the staff are absolutely wonderful and I highly recommend them. A colleague of mine is also getting married, so I told her to go to Cymbeline - she was bowled over with the designs, price and service so she also just purchased her dress from Cymbeline. All I can say is a big thank you to the staff for turning what I thought would be a scary process into a wonderful experience!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about my shopping experience at Cymbeline. It was my first time shopping for a dress and though I was nervous I came prepared with photos of the styles I was looking for. Ivy seemed to immediately understand my personality and style and found a handful of gorgeous choices. She did not rush me or make me feel pressured and made it an amazing experience . I fell in love with dress #2 (Ivy's selection, I might add) but was not ready to make a decision before going to my next scheduled appointment at Kleinfeld. 2 hours later I was running back to Cymbeline and their amazing customer service and stunning selection. Ivy was even able to get the dress of my dreams in my budget.

Cymbeline can't be beat.

I LOVE CYMBELINE. In my quest for the perfect wedding dress I must have gone to oh, I don't know, about 10 stores in 3 cities and tried on about 70 dresses. Yes, I was that indecisive monster of a bride. Don't judge.

Enter, Cymbeline. I slipped on a dress and fell in L-O-V-E with the top. It was stylish, it was sexy, it made me look like a waif... oooh girl, I could go on forever. The top was, and is, the shit. The bottom of the dress however was NOT my style. At all. In fact, it sort of killed the entire dress for me. Bummed out, I tried on another dress with a skirt I loved... it was fun and airy and free... and, shock me shock me, it came with a lace top I hated. Instead of feeling sexy and skinny, I felt lumpy and vanilla up top. UGH!! What was a bride to do?! Well if you watch Say Yes to the Dress (and if you're a girl in a relationship or newly engaged, you definitely do) you know the answer.

Frankendress. Take the top of one dress and stick it on the bottom of the other! Voila! Easy right? Randy does it all the timmmme on Say Yes...

Turns out, in reality, not so easy. Cymbeline the design house has a strict no-pattern change policy. It seemed that dream Frankendress was going to slip out of my hands... but then, a miracle! Ivy and Renee in the store talked it over and said they could order the fun skirt dress and extra fabric for the top of the fun top dress -and then their seamstress, Amy, could MAKE Frankendress there for me AND they could stay within my dress budget (a budget that the consultants at Kleinfeld's always seem to struggle with - read: not baller).

Scary? You betcha. Did I do it? Hell yes.

So... how did it work out you might ask? Well, after only 3x fittings it turned out PERFECTLY. My dress is SICK; it fit like a glove, and I felt like a Stylish-Sexy-Waifish-Airy-Fun-Free bride. Every NYC bride should go to Cymbeline to look for their dress. Even if you don't find it there, the experience you will get during your search is worth the trip.

At first, I was hesitant to follow the instructions of making an appointment on line thinking my info will just get lost in the shuffle, but Renee personally emailed me right away with available appt times - hardly any wait time. The quality of service was also very impeccable. Whatever your budget is, they treat you like you're the only bride. The dresses were all beautiful as if they were hand-picked. Not only good customer service, I was very impressed with Renee's expertise and taste, she helped me finalize my choice - surprisingly, ended up choosing a dress completely opposite my taste. She helped me pick a dress, not only beautiful, but perfect for my body/look. The price was also unbeatable! Overall outstanding experience!

My experience at Cymbelline was amazing!!!!! I went to many stores in New York before going to Cymbelline and the best experience ever was at this store. The personel is amazing, specially Renee. All the staff are so sweet and careful for the brides. I really recommend to go to Cymbelline because you will find the perfect dress for you!!!!!

Best bridal salon experience!!! Go there if you want to be treated like a real person and not just a commission check. Everyone who works there is incredible! They don't rush you and get upset if you want to try on more than three dresses. Absolutely no sales pressure! I love this salon! A must visit! They do alterations in house and it couldn't be easier.

WOW! Walking in there, they knew what would look good on me more than I did. I didn't even want to try on the dress they suggested and once I put it on, I didn't want to take it off. The whole experience there has been such a pleasure! Everyone is so kind and know what they're doing from Renata, Ivy and Amy (the seamstress).

Not only was my dress AMAZING, but they altered it perfectly, which is hard to do with lace, and I never had any doubt that it would be done in time, even with less than a month between my last fitting and my wedding day! And a hurricane!

My experience at Cymbeline really was a dream come true. From the moment my mom and I walked in the door, Renee was very professional, energetic and courteous to us. I generally told her what I was looking for, though I really had no idea as this was the first proper dress appointment I had. The showroom is absolutely beautiful and I believe has something for any bride's tastes. I thought that I was initially into a lace dress but after trying on about 3, I realized it wasn't at all what I wanted. Renee was very patient with me and eager to find a better fit - as soon as she sensed I wasn't feeling a dress she would zip off and return with something better. She even let me do a bit of browsing myself to get an idea. After trying on about 12 dresses, Renee brought my IT dress and I was blown away (it was a sample and it fit like a glove - a total steal). I was so excited! Additionally, she has great presence with moms/guests - my mom wanted something over the top while I preferred simple and classic and she brought out the perfect accessories to accentuate the dress, satisfying both me and my mom. A few weeks later I had the typical bridal nerves and had to see my dress again - I came one day during lunch and had the showroom to myself. Ivy treated me just as well as if I were a new customer and catered to my every wish - she tried on several veils, earrings, etc. and got my excited about my dress all over again! I highly recommend Cymbeline to any bride looking for a beautiful fabric, elegant style, and best of all - unpretentious service.

It was the best kind of wedding dress experience. The women at Cymbeline are so involved and helpful, from the managers to the sales associates and the seamstress is the best! I couldn't have asked for better, it was above my expectations. Cymbeline was the first place i went and i didn't want anything else after seeing their gowns. I can't wait to send some pictures so they can see the way it all came together!

Cymbeline's is a small boutique, selling only her own gowns. If you like her gowns on line, you will not be disappointed when you go there. The showroom manager, Ivy, is wonderful to work with and the seamstress, Amy, is excellent. I was totally satisfied with every aspect of the gown and service

I got the Daylice dress from Cymbeline, and it was ahhhhhhhmazing!!!! I was so in love with my dress, and they also did incredible alterations for me, changing out the back lace up of the dress to make it more feminine. Ivy is fantastic, and it was a wonderful experience. I got SO many compliments on my dress on my wedding day!

Everything about finding and buying my dress at Cymbeline was a pleasure: wide array of styles; helpful sales staff; reasonable prices; meticulous alterations and a relaxed, intimate and friendly atmosphere. They did not try to upsell me and they were able to help me find a dress that was both flattering and unique and within my budget. If you aren't into a big bridal emporium like Kleinfeld, Cymbeline is a great choice for you.

I was very pleased with the service and product selection I received at L'Fay Bridal. Renee was very helpful in assisting me in making my selection. I had ~3 visits before making my decision and they were very patient with me. I loved the personalized boutique experience. My dress was perfect. I cannot recall the taylor's name but she was amazing and I looked beautiful on my wedding day. I would highly recommend taking a look here at minimum. I was very happy with my selection. One word...FLAWLESS! I went to their location in Manhattan and it was the best experience I've EVER had! Prior to going to their store I of course went to 2 or 3 others (one well known) and they were AWFUL!!! Especially the "had to go to" store which was very disappointing and made me feel like I was just a number. L'Fay bridal was amazing to say the least and each and every one of their girls who worked there were very sweet, attentive, never rushed me or placed pressure on me to purchase a dress and most importantly they were honest. Not once did they try to direct me to anything over my budget, push for a dress style I didn't like, chatted with me about things other wedding stuff (so it felt personable) and listened to what I had envisioned my dress to look like. Amazingly, they carried Berta bridal dresses which was my dream wedding dress designer and was so thrilled they had her collection. The staff kept me informed with everything from purchasing the dress to accessories (veil, sashes for my maid of honor) and when my dress was ready. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. This is one place you can not pass up on!

Back in May 2013, I went up to New York City to say yes to the dress (literally). After being let down by the rude service and unaccomodating treatment I was basically kicked out of Kleinfelds as both the consultant and her manager expressed that my dress simply did not exist at Kleinfelds. Arriving to L'fay as my 2nd NYC wedding dress appointment, a new atmosphere presented itself. The friendly disposition of Renee and having the privacy of the entire boutique to my mom and myself was everything I could wish for. We went through the collections and Renee pulled a few dresses for me to try on. I didnt think the dress was apart of the ones she pulled but I maintained an open mind frame. It was a miracle I began to have fun because every dress I tried on, we could customize it. Being an trendsetter and sharing a love of fashion, this was a dream come true to select my dream dress. I picked out 2 dresses that I equally loved and because of the unending accomodation and pleasant assistance of Ren, my wedding dress is a blend of the 2 I had picked out customed to what I wanted and not me trying to convince myself I need to fall in love with an existing dress. Then she pulled out the most magnificent veil - no exaggeration - that I have ever seen and wore it with the dress. Tears immediately came to my mom and I - this was it - SAYING YES TO THE DRESS and POP the champagne. An unbelievable moment that will be captured as one my top favorite times of my entire life. The price was equally as impressive too - I feel like I would have to spend 10 times that amount at Kleinfelds. Already evidenced in our bridal scrapbook, I will sincerely treasure the quality of the service I received from L'fay. I just found out this past week (Sept 2013) that my dress is in for my first fitting and I am so anxious to see (and try on) my wedding gown this weekend.

Renee was absolutely wonderful - she listened, understood right away what I wanted, and found me the perfect gown for less than half what my runner-up dress would have cost. Alterations were also less expensive than elsewhere, and were done quickly and with no fuss. All-around, a great experience.

A lot of the Cymbelline stock is on the expensive side, but I told Renata my budget and she didn't let me pull dresses that were more than 2 or 3 hundred over it, and had suggestions of alternate, similar, dresses when I expressed interest in a more pricey gown. I believe that much of the stock is in the $2000 - $5000, making them more spendy than cheap - but you get your money's worth in gorgeous materials. If you can hit a sale here then you'll hit the jackpot.

The dresses are all really really beautiful fabrics (real silk organza and chiffon, english net instead of scratchy tulle, italian silk taffeta and Alcenon lace) and even the ballgowns are light and airy instead of super heavy. No, You probably won't find a gown with a skirt reminiscent of the civil war, but the dresses are couture, bohemian, vintage, chic, and modern all at once.

Renata pulled like 10 gowns for me, which was fantastic. Renata pulled things within my budget and allowed me to try on many different styles just to see how they'd look on.

One gown she pulled was obviously a $4000 gown, but it was a new sample that had been marked down to $1000 because they had ordered too many samples. This ended up being the gown I chose.

During the whole time I didn't feel pressured or rushed at all, Renata was encouraging and helpful, and got their tailor to come discuss what would need to be done to the dress to make it fit.

The only thing that could have made the experience better would have been if they'd offered water - I didn't realize how thirsty I'd gotten until she was running my credit card for the deposit.

The entire time I was their the staff treated me with respect, and Renata focused on me and my needs continuously and really listened when I told her what was working and what wasn't.

This was a great experience and I recommend it to any bride in NYC or travelling to NYC. You'll need a real budget, but these are gowns worth the money.

Thank you L'Fay Bridal for the perfect dress! I had so many compliments on my Berta dress and the best one was a friend of a friend who saw my dress on facebook and she wanted to copy the style. My reply to her was "you can't copy a Berta dress, you'll just have to get the original. It's Berta."

It was a wonderful shopping experience and Renee and Amy were both very professional and providing a reliable and responsive service. Amy is an awesome seamstress and I truly appreciate her art and her patience to get my dress in such a perfect condition. Renee had made this process for me stressfree and very enjoyable.

I never knew what my "dream" dress was...but I certainly found it. I have to say I ended up really enjoying my wedding dress shopping experience. I kept my search to smaller boutiques, who really took care of me. Cymbeline/L'Fay was the last store I went to - which came recommended by a friend's sister - at this point, I had more of an idea of what I actually wanted. The staff recommended I try on the last dress I tried on - and it turns out that was the one! My mom started crying and I just knew it was it. I didn't believe everyone that that's how it happens - but it really was that cliche. Renee helped me through every step of the way. We ended up making some pretty big changes to the dress and they definitely got the job done. There was a little bit of a language barrier with their seamstress and I had to tell her a couple times to fix things, but in the end, it all got done - the dress looked stunning - and I couldn't have dreamed of a better dress. I truly believe the whole wedding dress experience is unique for every single bride out there and not every place is a good fit for everyone. But I really enjoyed my experience with Cymbeline/L'Fay and would recommend them to all brides out there!

I was beyond pleased with my dress and the service from this salon. The dresses they have in the store are well kept, organized and clean. Everyone who works there is laid back, soft spoken, yet professional. They are not pushy like some other salons I've experienced. From start to finish I had a wonderful experience working with Ivy and Amy (seamstress) at Cymbeline in NYC. I went on a whim after I got an email that the store was having a trunk show and reading great reviews about working with Ivy. The intimate boutique erased any fears I had of shopping for a gown in a huge store. After trying on a few gowns that were nice but not for me, Amy brought out a lace dress she was working on. It wasn't much at first but my gut told me to trust Ivy and Amy so I walked out of the store after purchasing a concept of a dress. Over the next year and a half they listened to me and finished the dress so that it was even better than I could've imagined. I was head over heels in love with my dress and I would never have had the wonderful experience or result without the crew at Cymbeline. I still get compliments on my dress! Everyone I've encountered at Cymbeline has been lovely and I couldn't speak more highly of my wedding dress experience and how special they made it for me. Thank you!

I arrived to Cymbeline after visiting a number of places including Pronovias where I had an absolutely disappointing experience. From the minute I stepped into Cymbeline & L'Fay on 5th Ave and 19th St I felt welcomed and that their only goal is to help me find the perfect dress for me. Renee, my consultant, was extremely professional and responsive. She truly listened to me and helped me narrow down the options to a few dresses that were closest to what I was looking for. When there was a part of a dress that I didn't like, they right away agreed to alter it to something that I want. Just for comparison, when I asked for a very minor addition to the straps of a dress at Pronovias, I received the answer that it is absolutely impossible. Renee gave me her honest opinion and helped me into and out of dresses until I found THE ONE. Thanks to Renee's professionalism and patience an otherwise very stressful processes became very positive and pleasant! I can't wait to wear my dress and that's exactly the feeling I was hoping for after making such an important purchase.

Amazing designs and I was lucky enough to find mine during a sample sale. Everyone I dealt with was amazing, and their seamstress is like a machine. Had some troubles with the sash I paid for though (in stock, not in stock, waiting for me then no longer available). In the end I got something that worked better so it was't a problem but the back and forth was unprofessional in my book. Still love them though:)

If you're a New York bride looking for a wedding dress, you can't miss Cymbeline! The sales staff was helpful, and we had so much fun shopping for my gown! I had been to about 10 stores prior to going to Cymbeline, and every dress I tried on before made me feel like the dress was wearing me. But at Cymbeline, I found three wonderful contenders. The dress I settled on was on sample sale, and it fit like a glove. It was $1700, slightly over my budget, but worth it! I actually didn't even need it altered-- I know, unheard of!-- so I didn't have any experience with the seamstress. But, the best part: as much as I loved my dress, my husband loved it more. I will never forget his face as I walked down the aisle! I had been planning on donating my gown to a charity shop after our wedding, but he actually took it himself without my knowing and had it preserved, saying, "Honey, there's no way you're giving THAT dress away!"

I bought a sample gown from Cymbeline Paris. I actually thought I had found my dress at another shop but still had an appointment at Cymbeline and decided to go. Thank goodness I did because Ivy, the saleswoman, picked out a dress that fit me like a glove. I barely went into describing what I was looking for and Ivy pulled a dress she wanted me to at least try. Needless to say, it was my gown. I was eager to find a dress with off-the-shoulder sleeves, something soft, but it was too hard to find. Cymbeline has a seamstress that was able to mock up what I was looking for and we were able to add them to the dress. Cymbeline was super flexible and Ivy did a great job at listening to what I was looking for and not being pushy (what a relief when gown shopping).

Best salon, and Renata (Rene) is great! I found my perfect dress there with matching veil...I cannot say how many comments I got about my dress and look for the day. Look for sales/ floor samples to cut the cost. Otherwise, be prepared to pay an average of 3-5 g's for a dress.

Cymbeline has a beautiful line of dresses. It was hard to settle on one dress but in the end your body tells you which one is the best for you. In the course of this hard decision, it was genuine support that I received from the team at Cymbeline, particularly Renata. The dress came on time, and I did not experience any significant delays in its tailoring. But, pls note that my dress needed minimum effort in that regard. Overall, I was absolutely confident of my dress and it was a very nice feeling. Thank you, Cymbeline!

After an exhaustive search I finally found my dress at L'Fay. They had a gorgeous selection, most of which you can see online. The store itself was small, quiet and the person who helped me was so fantastic. She was patient, gave great feedback (which was great because I was searching on my own that day), and she helped take pictures of different dresses on me. The price range is okay, but it's pretty high end compared to some of the bigger warehouses in the city.

My dress came in right down to the wire, I only had a couple of weeks before the wedding to do all the fittings. You pay a pricey flat fee for alterations but they promise a quick turn around. The seamstress I worked with was quick and strong of opinion. I had to go back and forth a bit to get the fit promised me at the initial try-on months before. She ultimately made the right adjustments. All together I came back for three fittings and took the dress with me on the last one. I wish they provided a nicer garment bag given the loads of money you spend on their dresses.On my wedding day my bridesmaids found a good number of loose strings that I think should have been removed or fixed prior but we were able to trim them all. All in all my dress ended up beautiful and fit like a glove.

I purchased my dress at the NY Cymbeline Paris store. The service here is great! I was extremely happy with the seamstress. She does wonders! and she created an amazing bustle for my dress! She can really do anything and gets it right the first time. I think her name was Amy. Ivy was the salesperson that helped me and she was great too. She didn't push me to buy the most expensive dress. She really just wants you, the customer to be happy with your purchase. I even bought a bracelet there that they altered for me. I spent a little more $$ on the dress than I wanted but I was so happy with the way it turned out!

I came across L'Fay Bridal because they were one of the few boutiques in NYC to carry the designer I was looking for. The intimate setting is great for those that don't want to be surrounded by a hundred people while trying on dresses. The service was good and whenever I needed to come back to try on accessories they accommodated my tight schedule.

L'Fay was so helpful in helping pick out my dress! I went to a ton of wedding dress locations and L'Fay was definitely the best!

I absolutely loved my dress and they staff was extremly freindly. The veil i ordered was ripped, and i had to settle on one slightly off color which was only noticable to me, but still alittle upsetting. I had also ordered some of there accessories that i was promised would be in before my wedding and they never were, another little disappointment.

Finding the perfect Berta dress was a great experience. My consultant was very helpful. Unfortunately when it came to alterations our seamstress was very hard to work with. She argued with me and my aunt every step of the way and even wanted me to get higher shoes so she wouldn't have to make the dress shorter. When I took the dress out of the bag the day of the wedding I found that the inside of my dress was dirty but it was too late to do anything about it. Then about 2 hours in to using the bustle on my dress it breaks. I would recommend purchasing a dress here but take it somewhere else for alterations. It was a waste of money and an unpleasant experience to have the dress fit me the way it should.

Horrible experience

I never write poor reviews, but my experience at L’Fay needs to be heard. I don’t want another bride to go through what I did. I bought a sample Berta from L’Fay 9 months before my wedding. I had tried the dress on at another bridal shop, fell in love with it and a month later the pandemic happened. I waited a good 5 months before dress shopping again. I went to L’Fay and found the original dress that I loved on sale due to it being a sample. It was a few sizes too big and a little damaged. I was told by the saleswoman, Melissa that Randy their seamstress could repair, restore and make sure that the dress fit me like a glove. I went ahead and trusted them and bought the dress. Fast forward to a few months later it was time for the first fitting. I found out Melissa was no longer working at L’Fay. The second I put the dress on, I became weary and expressed my apprehension and said, “are you sure we can get this dress to look like it did when I tried the original one (one that fit) on.” Randy reassured me that it 100% would amazing and not to worry. Second fitting, dress was altered and still not looking right, so I expressed my concern again. Randy tells me to give him time that the dress needs work and it’s not finished. Third fitting, which was 4.5 weeks before my wedding. I try the dress on and it’s totally different. He changed the entire back of the dress, which is why I loved it. I express my concern once again and Randy tells me to not worry. Side note: why would he not tell me he had to compromise the style and back of the dress in order to get it to fit right? I went home and looked at the videos and photos that I took in the dress that day. I sent it to a few friends and my parents. Everyone was in shock and told me that the dress looks awful and even with repairs it’s lost it’s beauty. It just didn’t fall right, it wasn’t proportionate to my body. It NEVER should’ve been sold to me. I’m petite and was drowning in this dress. Keep in mind, Melissa the saleswoman who sold me the dress is no longer there. I called L’Fay and said I need to come in again, I’m really concerned and need to show Randy all of the issues that I had with the dress. I brought my good friend and had my parents on FaceTime to make sure everyone was on the same page. It was beyond obvious that Randy and the saleswoman Rene who were working that night were annoyed by me. Not only were they annoyed, Randy made some unprofessional and triggering comments about my physical appearance. He asked me numerous times, “Do you think you’re a model?” “You don’t look like that, you’re not a model.” “You’re not a model, that dress will never look like that on you like it does on the model.” I was so disgusted by his rebuttal, he couldn’t own up to the fact that maybe the dress just didn’t fit me, maybe it wasn’t his fault and had nothing to do with his work. I explained this to him. I remained extremely calm, patient and levelheaded, but was panicking inside my wedding was in 4 weeks. L’Fay took zero responsibility and in fact kept telling me that I just didn’t love the dress anymore and changed my mind. That was so far from the truth, as I asked if they had the same dress in a smaller size. I was so appalled by these series of events and how I was treated and spoken to. How dare they make a comment about my physical appearance and question me. The next day, my parents and I spoke to the manager, Valerie who was not so kind or helpful at first. I asked her what we do next what thr alternative is. They offered me pretty much nothing. They said there were a few older dresses that they could sell. I had slim pickings and hated all of them. In the end, after numerous days not so pleasant phone calls with regional and corporate managers, Valerie was able to refund me for my dress. The refund was great, but having to find a new dress 3 weeks before your wedding is a nightmare. They also took all of the joy out of what was supposed to be a happy memorable time in my life. In addition, I became insecure and upset about how I looked in every dress after hearing those comments Randy made. I really wouldn’t recommend going to L’Fay. I think every bride deserves happiness and a stress free memorable experience. I would be extremely skeptical before I bought a dress from here. I would make sure the dress fits you well and needs minimal alterations. Be confident that you know the job can be done right!

DO NOT SHOP here! Unless you want them to order the wrong size, sell you an overpriced dress with MULTIPLE holes in it, boss you around during your fitting and leave you in tears a week before your wedding! This was the most horrible experience I have ever had! They forced me to wear a dress to my wedding that I hated, because they made an error and said they could change something that in reality they could not. They saw how upset I was and did not even offer any compensation at all, they charged me in full for their seamstress services, who proceeded to continue to ruin the dress. Dont have her do your alterations, she is terrible and has a horrible attitude, rude and bossy. I had to take my dress to another seamstress to have her save the dress two days before my wedding. It was my biggest mistake to EVER set foot in this store!
