Delicious wedding cupcakes!
Jessica was absolutely incredible to work with! She helped me create two flavors of cupcakes for my wedding which blew our guests away by how delicious and beautiful they were. She even accommodated my special request to use our family apple butter in the center of one flavor which was very special. Day of, she delivered everything safely and on time, even creating a stunning display. I didn’t have to worry about a thing, which was a huge relief! I will use her for every cake need in the future! -

This was a delicious and beautiful cake for a very reasonable price! The tasting process was fairly easy—for a reasonable fee, we were able to meet up at a central location to pick up cupcakes with the flavor combinations we requested (the cake and icing were true to the final product). She did a great job with the decorations—we did a light blue hydrangea theme on a three-tier cake to feed approx. 100 guests. We choose the pink champagne (their signature), chocolate espresso (we requested a stronger coffee flavor, which they were able to accommodate, haha), and coconut almond. This was a great cake for about a quarter of the cost that some other vendors we looked at were proposing to charge us. -

I went to high school with Jessy and I'm not being biased when I say she is great! I had seen many cakes over the years that she has done and I knew when my time came I'd want to hire her for my cake. I also like to support local and small businesses, especially ones founded and run by families and women! I really like the simple naked look. The flavors were delicious and she will customize and design to your desire! -

Amy Sent on 06/20/2013She was wonderful to work with! The cake turned out beautifully and was absolutely delicious! I got so many compliments on our carrot cake! Even the kids at our reception who "hate carrot cake" ate several slices because it was so delicious! I highly recommend her cakes! -

Erica Sent on 06/10/2013We found Lemon Tulip Cakes through the Washingtonian Bride and Groom deals and steals last fall. We took a chance because we really just had a cake to keep my MIL happy. I am so incredibly glad that we did -- the cake and cupcakes were amazing! They looked great and tasted even better. When we were concerned about keeping our color scheme (yellow) but wanted raspberry flavoring, Jessica suggested that we have raspberry jam filling rather than raspberry frosting. We had friends ask us just last night who our baker was - the cupcakes were that good. I would highly recommend Lemon Tulip Cakes to anyone - the cake was moist, the frosting the perfect balance (not too sweet) and it looked great! -

She went above and beyond by delivering the cake to our venue all the way out by Baltimore and she listened to everything that I asked for and made it happen. She had great in put and added a beautiful flower to the cake that matched our colors. It was moist, delicious and was enough for everyone to enjoy. I've heard nothing but rave reviews from my guests as well!!! As a baker and a very picky person, I was impressed.
It was EXACTLY what we wanted for our wedding. Thank you for adding to our perfect day!
I just wish I had taken more home with me. We LOVED it. -

Megan Sent on 06/04/2011We were very pleased with Jessica's work. The cake was just as delicious at the event as it was in the tasting-- incredibly moist...our guests raved about it. The design was a little different than I was expecting, but it was beautiful, (and actually probably went a little better with the overall wedding decor than what I had envisioned). Possibly because of the heat and the long travel time, the cake had a very slight leaning tower of pisa effect, but it was something only a bride would see-- we got many complements on how beautiful it was. Jessica is very flexible, and was able to easily accommodate the colors and design we wanted. She was extraordinarily easy and pleasant to work with....and her prices just can't be beat. -

Jessica was extremely receptive to our tastes and aesthetic, and made a stunning 3-tier buttercream cake for our wedding! Everyone was raving. Her rates are extremely affordable, and I could not recommend her more highly! -

Kate Sent on 06/29/2010No doubt, the cake that Jessica made for me was both lovely and very tasty (guests raved!) I wanted modern cakes with different heights on one plane and that was exactly what I got - lovely!
However, I requested and paid for 3 different flavors (red velvet, lemon, and vanilla latte/Starbucks cake) and got only red velvet. This was pretty disappointing to discover as the cake was being served. I happily raced back to the kitchen to taste the other flavors before they went out the door to the guests only to learn that it was all red velvet. I had been raving about the cakes for the past two months to guests and was really pushing the fact that I had a few choices of flavor.
I complained to Jessica and she refunded me the cost of the three flavors ($20) which frankly just wasn't the response I was looking for. I don't appreciate that low level of customer service. It was an important day and reimbursing money that I was owed anyway didn't quite cut the cake (pun intended). After a bit more back and forth, she refunded me my tasting fee which I sincerely only wanted out of principle and in the spirit of good customer service.
Again, I'll reiterate that the cake she did provide was very tasty, attractive, and fresh.... but I am more disappointed with her response to the situation. I think a vendor's true test is how they deal with the challenging situations, not the easy ones.
