We hired Leiters' for our wedding on 5/31/24, and from the beginning, they were very responsive and flexible with our needs. We worked with Bree for the entire duration of the planning process, from the initial quote to the very end with finalized contract. She is a key reason why we loved working with Leiters' so much. She worked with us providing options to adhere to our budget while still ensuring that we would be happy with the end result of our choices. Bree is very detailed and made us feel like a priority, despite having many other couples she was working with. We are also extremely grateful for Teri Leiter being so accommodating as my husband is in the military and the unknown of a last minute deployment is always a possibility, which can make planning a wedding very difficult in regard to cancellation/refund contract terms. The Leiters' head chef was wonderful to propose an alternate entrée option as to stay in line with our budget- which the guests all LOVED. The service staff at the wedding did a great job attending to the buffet and cleanup throughout the wedding. We could not be happier choosing Leiters' for our wedding, and Bree makes a stressful planning process much easier. -

Teri the owner of Leiters was absolutely amazing. She worked with us every step of the way for our wedding. She got back to us in a timely manner and whatever we wanted she made possible.
We got the chicken breast and seafood Newberg entree options for our wedding. That was probably the best wedding food I've ever had and we had so many guests compliment the food. The Leiters crew also is something to compliment they worked efficiently, and they were super sweet.
Leiters went above and beyond for our wedding and made the wedding planning experience so much more tolerable. I would highly recommend Leiters for your catering needs. -

Our family has used Leiter's on many occasions. Most recently on June 17th for my Grandson's wedding. Karen did a fantastic job making sure everything went smoothly. The staff was awesome and very accommodating. So much going on that day that I cannot remember their names, but thank you so much for a fantastic job. The food was also awesome. Still enjoying leftovers. Thanks again.

Teri and her team were amazing to work with! We needed a caterer within 6 months of our wedding and Teri was able to accommodate us quickly and to create a brunch menu for our wedding dinner. All of the guests loved the food, we got so many compliments that it was delicious! The process was clear, simple, and very detailed. -

Thank you to the whole Leiters' team for being a part of our wedding day. From Autumn's masterful logistics planning and Mary and her team, they were spectacular!
As soon as I saw Autumn's detailed proposal (which included detailed logistics), I knew I was in good hands with Leiters. Day of, Mary and her team smoothly took care of the change over of the room from wedding to reception. Mary was so sweet and personally took GREAT care of my dear husband and me, as well as made sure my Grandma had everything she needed without having to leave her table. It felt like she was part of the family.
We also got compliments on our brunch food - specifically the potatoes and the crumb cake! -

Delicious!
From the very beginning, Leiter's Catering went above and beyond to ensure that our wedding day meal was perfect. They invited us to a tasting where we were able to get a feel for what we wanted, and their team worked with us to make sure every single detail was covered, from the chair type to the linens to the silverware, to the number of staff needed, to little details like lighting candles for us and folding our dinner napkins to include our menu cards - not to mention preparing a delicious meal for 100 guests! They were always quick to respond and take care of any request that I had, and they were patient when we needed to make a lot of last minute changes. We are so pleased with how our wedding reception turned out and our guests are still commenting on how delicious our meal was! Thank you again to Leiters for making our day so special! -

Teri and her team were so excellent to work with for our 130-person wedding. When our venue’s chef quit 2 months before the wedding, we were stressing for sure. Luckily, Leiters was available to handle both our cocktail hour AND the plated meal on short notice! They were incredibly professional from start to finish, and were willing to go out of their way to make sure everything was perfect for our big day. They even loaned us greenery and vintage old books for our decorations! We were so let down by our venue’s chef and were truly stressing the food situation, which is always what people remember at a wedding. But Leiters pulled it off and then some! On the day of, the head chef was there with her team and they worked quickly and efficiently to make sure everything was perfect. We had some major issues with the florist and decorations which caused quite a bit of stress and tears, but the head chef (I believe her name was Karen?) helped to make everyone feel calm and that everything would work out, which it did. And let me tell you how everyone raved about the food! The halibut was so fresh, and the homemade BBQ sauce with the rotisserie chicken was heavenly. Cocktail hour was incredible (I wish I could have had more!) – they even made sure the wedding party had a separate table of food so we wouldn’t miss out during photos. Even the presentation was top notch – each plated meal had a beautiful edible flower with it. I would recommend Leiters to anyone! They helped me feel so at ease after the stress of losing our venue chef so close to the wedding. Thanks to Leiters for helping us having the wedding of our dreams! -

Emily Sent on 06/17/2014The food and selection of rental items provided by Leiter's Fine Catering is excellent. We received numerous compliments in regards to how wonderful the food was, and truly appreciated the quality of service provided. Our wedding ceremony and reception was held at a private residence in the mountains of Pennsylvania, and Leiter’s did a wonderful job acclimating to a non-traditional venue. The staff at Lieter’s was very helpful in setting up of my centerpieces, and dessert table, as we served pie instead of cake. Two days before my wedding, two gentlemen delivered and set up the tents, tables, and chairs needed for the ceremony and reception during a torrential downpour. I anticipated that they would leave and return the following day due to the torrential downpour, but they pushed on to complete their tasks.
My only complaint was due to false information provided by a former consultant, who was soon let go after drawing up the proposed contract. This consultant was let go due to providing false information to clients, however, we were not informed of this reason until problems arose. The initial consultant informed my husband and I that tent sides were automatically included for all tent rentals. We later found out days before our wedding that this was not the case. By this time, it was too late to include tent sides. My wedding day was very windy and slightly chilly so naturally, I was very disappointed we did not have tent sides to block the wind, and potentially decrease the chill. Additionally, the initial consultant informed us that Leiter’s always provided ice and coolers for beverages. On the day of the wedding, there was confusion as to who was providing these items, but the staff at Leiter’s did a fantastic job at rectifying this problem before the reception. -

Erin Sent on 10/08/2012After meeting with several different caterers we chose Leiter's because of the expected value, flexibility and staff. Over the months leading up to the event, I found the staff was difficult to get ahold of at times and didn't always follow through. On the day of my wedding there were several issues...
1. We selected crab cakes as an entree. Each guest was supposed to be served 2 crab cakes... Everyone received one very small crab cake. I will say however; my father spoke with Leiter's and we were refunded partially for this mistake.
2. None of the candles were lit prior to my guests entering the tent for the reception. My cousin ended up going around and lighting many of them himself.
3. The staff seemed to be running behind the entire evening. When guests were arriving, the cocktail tables were still being set-up. I even noticed during cocktail hour that some tables were set-up without tablecloths. There were guests that were not served their meals until 9:30!!! When the dance floor had already opened. This was unexcusable.
4. My husband and I did our cake cutting.. About 10 minutes after I noticed guests had not gotten any cake yet. I had to approach the staff and ask them to serve the cake.
5. We paid extra to have a sash strung across the head table. It was never set-up...
Unfortunately, I cannot in good conscious recommend Leiter's to any other bride. The staff are nice but they do not have the expertise needed for catering weddings. -

I write this after I've had several weeks to reflect and digest the events of my wedding night, as I wanted to be able to remove any emotion out in order to leave a true, valid review.
Leiter's was recommended to me by the owners of the venue where our wedding was held. I will begin by saying that those same owners have informed me that Leiter's will never work at their venue again based on the unprofessional chain of events that happened at my wedding.
Leiter's was helpful at the beginning of my wedding planning venture...and then everything went downhill. The original person I was in contact with during my planning ended up leaving the company, so the owner took over my account.
The original floor plan and mock-up that I was given to create a seating chart TWO whole years prior to my event was completely made up and impossible at the actual venue. I was not told this until the literal week before my wedding. My coordinator had to recreate a floor plan, and I had to recreate my seating chart (for 200 guests) and reprint signs (costing more $$).
My engagement was long, so a lot can change over 2 years. I do recognize the help and flexibility as things were changing over the course of my planning, but as we got closer to the wedding date, things truly went awry. Email responses were short and sassy, and any time my mother or I reached out, it seemed as if we were inconveniencing them.
The goal for our meal was to provide a variety of stations of our favorite foods: burgers, tacos, pizza, french fry bar. The vision was clearly explained and promised, and then not executed. Although weather was an issue and prevented our stations from being clearly separated, Leiter's did not fulfill their promise. Pizzas were ORDERED AND DELIVERED from a place in Maryland - our wedding was in Northern Virginia. (I could have easily done this myself for 1/900th of the price.) French fries were cold and quickly ran out. Burgers tasted bland and previously frozen. My guests stood in massive lines when that was what we obviously wanted to avoid with stations. There was not nearly enough staff to help guide guests.
We purchased 50 bottles of champagne to ensure each guest had a glass of champagne for toasts. Each glass (including us, the bride and the groom) was filled 1/4 of the way. At the end of the night, we had about 20 bottles of champagne left, meaning there was more than enough to give guests full glasses.
There was a point in the night (my wedding night) that a bartender stopped me to tell me that my wedding coordinator was being "nasty." I apologized to him, but also found it wildly inappropriate that he was telling this to me - the bride- on my wedding night, about something I had zero control over. I later learned that my coordinator was "being nasty" because the bartenders were leaving the bars unattended, with guests waiting for drinks, to help themselves to plates of food. She told them they cannot do this, as it is a state law in Virginia to leave a stock bar unattended. We DID include plates for all Leiter's workers in our contract, so it is not an issue they were getting food. The issue was the timing of when they did so, and leaving the bar unattended.
A positive point about Leiter's is that they are a one-stop-shop. They made it easy and convenient to rent all of our tables, chairs, and linens; it creates one less vendor you have to deal with. I'm unsure if this is common among catering companies, but it was a nice convenience that Leiter's offered. Our reception space was decorated beautifully, just as we envisioned, although I'm not certain I can credit Leiter's for that, or some of our other vendors. Carla, who works with Leiter's, was an absolute joy the day of and truly the only helpful person I met through the company. It is so unfortunate that her praise and hard work will get lost in the mess of everything else.
When I brought all of this to the attention of the owner of Leiters' the week after our wedding, we basically got a "sorry you feel that way. We've been in business for 40 years, it must be your fault" type of response.
For roughly $18,000, I was (still am) extremely disappointed and frankly disgusted by the performance and lack of empathy. I wish I could go back in time, do more research, and find a new caterer.
