    Choose Leilani!

    We recently used Danielle and her team for our wedding on 12/8 in Playa Del Carmen. We met with her in April to discuss logistics, and from that moment, we knew we were in great hands. She walked us through how everything would work with her and her team and what to expect and then gave us all the information we needed to fill out when we met again, six weeks out from the wedding.

    Her timeline was PERFECT. Everything was mapped out to the minute, and it was incredibly comforting to know that this was the timeline that Leilani and all the vendors would follow. She is very experienced, so we completely trusted her and did not regret it. We couldn’t see the venue, vendor items, food, etc, in person before our wedding, but Leilani ensured it would go seamlessly regardless. She was available through text, email, phone, Zoom, etc, whenever we had any questions.

    She came to Mexico (for 24 hours!) to support us on our big day and efficiently handled each vendor. We never felt stressed or rushed because we knew Danielle had everything in order. She kept everyone aware of what was going on and what was happening next. It would’ve been a different and stressful day without her presence.

    All of this is to say if you’re considering working with Leilani, DO IT. She will guide you through your wedding every step of the way with ease, professionalism, directness, kindness, and joy. We are so thankful we worked with her.

    Elevated my experience

    I wasn’t sure if I needed an organizer to help with throwing my 50th birthday party, but I’m so glad I took advantage of Leilani’s services. From the first meeting, my planner, Alexis, took so many burdens off my hands. Her organizational skills let me focus on the parts of the celebration that interested me and outsource the parts that didn’t. Alexis created a look book for the event, sourced vendors who were a good match for what I wanted, and handled all scheduling. I especially loved that she took on the duty of letting people know if they didn’t get the job, saving me that awkward phone call. In the end, my party was far more elegant than I could have imagined on my own, and I was free to simply enjoy the day and be present. I highly recommend Leilani!

    So thankful for the Leilani Wedding team!

    We loved our planner, Crysta, she was thoughtful, thorough, and focused on our vision. The wedding day is filled with challenges and our planner that day, Danielle, made sure things went as planned as possible while also making us feel calm and excited. We loved working with Leilani Weddings and we highly recommend their services! I wish I would have used more of their services, they have so many!

    Great experience interning with LW!

    Last year I was in between jobs and was looking to stay involved in the event industry. I was so lucky and grateful to find Leilani Weddings’ Internship program and intern for them from December 2021 – February of 2022. The entire application process was smooth and straightforward which was much appreciated. Danielle and Sara were very organized and fair in dividing up work among all the interns. They provided guidance and help when needed and it was great being a part of a collaborative team. I assisted in social media campaigns and contributed to their blog as well. There was also room to grow and take on other tasks toward the end of the program. Unfortunately, I did have to leave the internship early due to a new job, but I wish I could have stayed through the duration of the program. Working with Danielle, Sara, and the rest of the Leilani team was an enjoyable experience, and I would recommend an internship with Leilani Weddings to anyone looking to get into event/wedding planning.

    We couldn't have done it without Kim and the Leilani Squad

    We had a vision for our wedding, and wanted something we felt would be meaningful and represent us and our lives, but also were on a very tight budget. With our venues in mind (our local public park for the ceremony, a patio at our HOA’s community center for the reception, and an after party at our home) and only 6 months until our selected wedding date, we went to Leilani Social to ask if they could help us make it happen.

    Kim was assigned as our coordinator, and took the challenge in stride. Another team member worked with us and Kim as a designer, and soon they helped us develop a cohesive vision and start thinking about the logistics, securing vendors, and making the many dozens of small but critical decisions to make our wedding day feel like us.

    Kim met with us many times leading up to the wedding date, coordinated all of the vendor communications by email, and always made time to address our questions and concerns--no detail was too small. She helped coach us through selecting rentals and the minute-by-minute plan for the day, and when we needed to pivot last minute to doing DIY flowers to save money, she supported us through that, too! This review would end up the length of a novel if I tried to cover everything, but just to give a couple examples: Kim helped us design custom drink menus for our reception, found alternatives for glassware and decor when we found out we couldn’t have glass or open flame at our venue, and made sure we got a refund from our rental company for the few small items that were missing (which we of course, never even knew about because the Leilani Squad just handled it!). The day before the wedding, Kim met with us and our bridal party to run an efficient and helpful rehearsal, exuding competence and kindness while making sure everyone was ready for the next day.

    On the wedding day, four amazing Leilani Social team members were present to make it all happen. My day as bride started with a sound bath hosted by one of Leilani’s wellness vendors (the wonderful Stephanie with Soul Sounds Alchemy) for myself and my bridesmaids. To be completely honest, I was a bit skeptical at first (especially since it meant we’d have to start our day earlier) but it ended up being so lovely and grounding (thank you, Danielle and Stephanie!). My “lady-in-waiting,” Lulu, was amazing, and she spent the whole morning with us, keeping us on track time-wise and helping with all of the little things that came up, like steaming the skirt of my dress.

    Kim worked tirelessly to transform our blank canvas venues into the magical settings we had envisioned together for ceremony and reception. Arriving at the spaces and seeing our vision realized was an amazing experience. But as bride and groom, our hope was to truly be in the moment and enjoy the day, and Kim, Danielle, and the rest of the Leilani Squad made that possible. They took care of everything, arranging our many DIY elements, receiving each of our many vendors, making sure our guests got from one place to another, and responding to the inevitable hiccups so that the two of us could just enjoy each other, our guests, and our beautiful celebration. As a note, Kim was the last to leave the reception site hours after we did, making sure everything was in top shape and transporting extra drinks and supplies to our nearby home for the after party. She was a champion, and went above and beyond for us.

    It was truly the best day of our lives, and truly wouldn’t have been possible without Kim and the Leilani Squad. We can’t thank you or recommend you highly enough!

    Helped our wedding dream come to life

    Danielle and her team were great to work with! She helped us customize a standard package that fit our budget and needs best. And then we had a couple of calls and a venue walk through beforehand to make sure everything was set. The group of ladies that actually helped on wedding day helped with set up, brought the wedding party the brunch we ordered, and kept us on timeline throughout the day which was super helpful since the day goes by so fast! They even took some photos and videos for us. They were all professional and I'm so glad they were there to help us through the day.

    DISASTER. Look elsewhere.

    The worst, most unprofessional wedding coordinators. Do NOT use Danielle Leilani if you want your wedding day to run smoothly. We hired them for our wedding last month and our wedding was a logistical nightmare. 6 days before the event, we were told there was a schedule change and the coordinator we had been working with for months would no longer be at our wedding. Instead, Danielle Leilani would be taking over (without any prior knowledge of our plans for the day). The minute Danielle got involved, chaos ensued.

    First she tried going behind our backs to change contracts with our vendors. She screamed at multiple vendors, demanding things that were outside of their scope. We were horrified to hear this, especially since we had such good relationships with each of the vendors we had selected for our big day.

    Danielle and her team also managed to mess up even the simplest tasks like placing the table numbers on the correct tables that were all listed on a diagram. None of the table numbers lined up with the name cards at the seats, and my husband and I had to walk around and redirect all 90 of our guests to where they should be sitting.

    During the reception, my husband and I got pulled off the dance floor by vendors on FOUR different occasions for guidance on things like where to set up and what needs to be done. The job of the day of coordinator is to quite literally coordinate these things on the wedding day so the bride and groom can enjoy their day and not worry about logistics, but this was not the case because Danielle was no where to be found. When our cinnamon roll tower “cake” was put out for dessert, her one job was to put out the plates and utensils for serving. That didn’t happen, so our guests were eating dessert with their hands and walking around with sticky fingers. Again, horrifying.

    As one last final slap in the face, Danielle and her team disregarded our entire post-wedding cleanup plan and left everything sitting outside overnight, with my wedding bouquet squished into the bottom of a cardboard box.

    Please do yourself a favor and book any other wedding coordinator/planner to avoid a disaster like this one.

    Dishonest and Completely Unreliable

    It's hard to overstate how awful this service was - here's a quick summary - we had a rehearsal on the Friday and the wedding on the Saturday.
    - 4 days before the wedding they texted at night to say they weren't turning up and we needed to figure out an alternative
    - the next morning they deleted their text and said they were figuring something out
    - later that day they said they had it sorted, not to worry
    - the Friday of the wedding weekend *without asking* they cancelled the rehearsal, moved it to Saturday, and moved all our vendors to fit this in - we found out because some of our vendors called us to ask what was going on
    - we called them and told them to undo their changes, they told us they moved it as they could not be there on Friday, only on the day of
    - the day of - 2 random people showed up (instead of 3) and we'd met none of them prior
    - they completely randomized the per-table seating we'd worked hard on and made a lot of people awkward since they were seated with people they didn't know or with ex-s
    - they did not hang our seating chart, they just put them on the ground for others to try to look at (see photo, it's the best photographic example of all of this)

    After following up I confirmed they *never* had planned to be there on the Friday before as planned, it was the first time they worked with the coordinators and they had only hired them for the day of. We should have known this was going to be the case as they had previously done the same thing on the day of the tour - they said they would be there and then, day of the walkthrough, they cancelled.

    I'm so disappointed and outraged how someone can be so blatantly dishonest, they knew we had planned this for months and spent a lot of money on the event. In the end our wonderful photographer and friends helped fill a bunch of gaps but I will never forget the negative impact these people had and how incompetence isn't enough to explain their behavior.
