What a spectacular venue! We could not have asked for a better location for our wedding. We toured 2 other spots and the moment we walked into the reception barn at Layz S Ranch we knew it was the spot for us. The ability to use the venue from Friday – Sunday was an amazing perk. It allowed us to comfortably set up for the wedding day as well as host our rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, and welcome party all in the same location. The Sclaters were incredibly helpful, responsive, and kind throughout the entire process leading up to and during the wedding. We were lucky that we had a sunny and 70 degree day in November but even if the weather hadn’t cooperated with us the interior of the venue is a wonderful option. We also loved and utilized the unique spacing of the venue. We were able to have dinner and dancing in the reception barn and then have tables, the photo booth, and a fire going in the ceremony barn for guests who wanted a more relaxed space. We highly highly recommend using Layz S Ranch (if you can even get on their schedule!) Their hospitality and location made our wedding dream a reality! -

Recently had my wedding at Layz S Ranch and it was truly a dream come true. Even with rainy weather, the venue was the perfect backdrop. The owners were phenomenal and easy to work with. Some of my favorite parts - 1) everything you need is in the same location, meaning guests do not have to walk far to get from ceremony to cocktail hour to recpeiton. 2) lots of great spots for formal pictures. 3) the entire location is a canvas to design any element you want for your wedding. -

The Slater’s were the only venue owner that told is that they would love it if we chose to get married on their property. They are good-hearted and down to earth people. I am so glad we chose them as our location. They made it so easy, responded quickly, and were incredibly thorough and organized. We could not asked for more perfect people to work with! Thank you for allowing us to borrow your space and look back on it for a lifetime. You both are living my dream! -

Absolutely AMAZING!!!
Pam and Greg are absolutely amazing!!! They helped us every step of the way, with questions, comments, and help with set up!! I highly recommend booking through them!! The venue is absolutely gorgeous that comes with and even better view!!!! I can’t recommend this place and the owners enough!!!!!! -

My husband and I got married at Layz S Ranch in April of this year and absolutely adored the venue!! The whole venue was breathtaking and filled with so many cute areas for photos indoors and outdoors. Pam and Greg were so wonderful to work with and truly made the entire planning process so smooth and easy!! All of our guests have told us how much they loved the venue, and our photographer and videographer were able to get so many cool shots on the property! The bride room was the perfect place to get ready in, and I especially loved that they also had a designated groom’s room for the guys to get ready in. All the main areas (outdoor ceremony location, cocktail hour area, reception space) are so close together which made everything so convenient for the guests. The indoor reception space was one of my favorite spots as it felt so beautiful and dreamy in there! Plus, the farm tables, benches, and chairs provided were so cute!! We felt such a peace on the property when we toured as well as on our wedding day!! A beyond beautiful venue, affordable price, and all weekend access for set up and clean up made this venue such a dream! I cannot recommend it enough!! Great place to be at and wonderful people to work with!
This place is drop dead gorgeous! Very stunning views and a beautiful quite place to be. The owners are very down to earth and very professional! They saved our butts by luck and we are so fortunate for them to such a positive place to be. A lot of the of things are provided for you and don’t need much decorations on a count of the place is truly set up and ready for a country themed wedding. The suits to get ready in are absolutely perfect and definitely secluded for the bride. -

It didn’t take us long to figure out that Layz S Ranch was the perfect spot for our wedding. Pam and Greg were very welcoming and flexible. Throughout the whole process they were very responsive to our questions and provided helpful tips. I would highly highly recommend them as they were a critical part in making our day so special! -

We were so lucky to find Layz S and snag one of there last weekends of the summer season. It is a stunning venue with equally beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces to use, and the price is such a steal! The owners were wonderful to work with, accommodating my multiple pre-wedding visits, answering all of my many questions and even helping with the wedding set-up and takedown. The views made for wonderful pictures, and the multiple barns allowed for designated spaces for the ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, etc. that flowed from one to the next effortlessly. We're so glad to have had our wedding there and would highly recommend Layz S Ranch! Go visit, you'll be so glad you did! -

I cannot say enough about how great Layz S Ranch was in making our wedding absolutely perfect.
For starters- the venue is absolutely stunning. We toured and booked their services in February of 2020 before the multiple renovations (patio with a breezeway to go between the smaller and larger pavilions, bridal suite remodeling, and building a groom's cottage) were underway/complete and we fell in love with it even before all of those wonderful things were added.
The ceremony site is amazing- an elegant arbor overlooking rolling hills with a quaint barn in the background with a spacious patio and firepit. The smaller pavilion is immediately next to the ceremony site and can be used as a cocktail hour space or a backup ceremony site for bad weather which is so convenient- our guests loved how close the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception events were because they didn't have to travel but still got to enjoy three different experiences for each event. The large pavilion is so beautiful inside and out with its classic barn structure with a modern flare- beautiful wood panels and the classic, barn red metal roof invite guests in and then the amazing amount of natural light and beautiful chandeliers and fireplace make them feel cozy from the day and all through the night. The bridal suite is perfect for preparing for your big day with natural lighting for hair and makeup and getting ready photos and plenty of cozy space for all of your bridal party and family members. The groom's cottage provides the perfect "man cave" for the guys to relax away the jitters. The entire property is perfect photo ready- our photographer and videographers loved the scenery so much that our quick golden hour photo session turned into an hour and a half photoshoot before we knew it. The rolling hills with the rustic fencing and the adorable pond with the wooden bridge provide so many different photo opportunities.
Pam and Greg are amazing to work with- great communication and so helpful from beginning to end. Planning a wedding in a pandemic with constantly changing restrictions was stressful, but Pam was quick to respond to any questions and offer suggestions for anything she could. Greg helped with setup of the venue the day before during rehearsal and also during the wedding the next day and we couldn't have run such a smooth event without his help.
Our guests and other vendors couldn't stop raving about how beautiful the venue is and the overall romantic feeling of the entire property made for the perfect wedding day.
With tables, chairs, benches, and the use of the refrigerators, bar, wagon, and buffet included in the contract there is one less vendor to worry about hiring and the venue by itself is so gorgeous that it takes minimal decorating to create your perfect vision.
This venue is perfect for anyone that is looking for the most glamorous, magazine worthy venue with the least stressful setup and coordination possible. It truly is the best of both worlds for the most perfect wedding you could ever imagine.
Thank you a million times over for everything! You guys went so far above and beyond what I ever imagined a venue could ever provide. -

A day filled with love, happiness, and beauty.
Elliott and I and only toured 1 other venue before knowing that Layz S Ranch was the one for us. It was simply a slice of heaven we had no idea existed until we stumbled upon it from Facebook. It was an October evening just before the sun was going down and the owners had graciously let us come by for a tour.
From the start, they were so welcoming and answered all of my million questions happily. I was amazed by all they had to offer from the 2 barns, beautiful ceremony patio, bridal suite, full service bathrooms, and we were surprised that Greg and Pam, the owners, had built a Groomsmen shack during the pandemic!
Pam was amazing with all communication with my wedding coordinator and I. Greg and family was also wonderful with setting up the furniture for us.
The venue itself is so beautifully laid out and well kept. The days to follow the wedding everyone had complimented that it was THE most beautiful wedding and venue they had ever been to. They said everything was decorated so beautifully and the venue was sensational.
Thank you Pam and Greg for allowing us to have the best day of our lives here!! -

My husband and I knew Layz S was the perfect venue for us as soon as we toured two years ago. The ceremony patio, rustic barn and reception barn are the perfect combination of rustic, natural and elegant. Greg and Pam, the owners, are very helpful, responsive, and a joy to work with! They truly want to work with you to make sure your day is exactly what you want. The venue has so many perks that many venues in the area do not - tables and chairs and so many other items that you won’t have to rent, affordable price for a stunning place, and all weekend access to the venue. The new bridal and groom suites are amazing and very beautifully decorated. There are so many spots for photos on the property as well! We can’t recommend Layz S enough! -

We had our wedding on September 5th, 2020 at LayZ S Ranch and they went above and beyond our expectations! The venue itself was gorgeous and the beautiful landscape enhanced our pictures. The space had enough room for us to have our ceremony and reception there, and we loved the new Bridal and grooms suites we got ready in! We would highly recommend this venue to any brides and grooms looking for a place to tie the knot! -

Absolutely Amazing!
This venue is an absolute treat! The perfect mix of rustic and elegant! My husband and I were so impressed with the way everything turned out. From the beginning of the day when we went to separate bride and groom suites to get ready, to the entrance of the isle, to the alter and the event barns that are sectioned perfectly apart. This space is the perfect place to have a wedding/reception! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! -

My husband and I booked our wedding here shortly after getting engaged over two years ago. We had to postpone our plans for April 25th due to covid restrictions, and the venue was very flexible in allowing us to move to a new date. We used the outdoor patio for our ceremony, had the cocktail reception in the rustic barn, and served dinner in the more modern barn. There are lots of areas that can accommodate guest lists of varying sizes. The bridal suite and grooms suite were nice places to enjoy a quiet moment and cool off. There are so many beautiful spots around the venue for photographs and the landscaping is really stunning. It was a great price for a beautiful venue, especially compared with other Charlottesville area venues. -

My husband and I had a beautiful wedding on August 28th, 2021. We ultimately decided on this venue because of the full weekend rental. We had all day Friday to set up the wedding and also had a big pre-wedding rehearsal party the night before the wedding! Both barns are beautiful and allow you to make the space your own. You can dress it up or down to your liking. Pam is very responsive to all questions and Greg was wonderful helping us with set up.
Our wedding day was HOT - 92 degrees! Unfortunately with this kind of heat the AC in the barn did not work. Greg did the best he could and helped us set up fans. Nevertheless our wedding was beautiful and we had an amazing day.
Great Bridesmaid and groomsmen areas on site. I would highly recommend this venue as a price conscious; full value venue! -
