My husband and I had our wedding in the beginning of December. It was small, with only 30 guests in attendance, but it was gorgeous and I would not have done it any other way! Since our guest count was so small, we knew that we wanted to make things special with great food, and quite frankly Lawry's did not dissapoint. I had never eaten at Lawry's before but my husband and both our familes had. To say that the food was amazing really does not even give it justice. The tasting was such a fun experience. The appetizers that we chose from were unbelievable, we still cannot get that tuna tar tar in a wonton out of our heads! The tuscan chicken and soy honey glazed salmon were also delicious! Since our wedding was in December, we were very fortunate to not have to do much decorating of the main dining room. During the holidays, the restaurant is decorated in Christmas lights, pointsettias, and a gorgeous tree is displayed. So all we did to make our reception a bit more special was just to add red roses and tulips to each table. But honestly, Lawry's was so lenient with the decor, I could have used anything to make the tables more special. Including open candles.
The level of service that you get when you book an event with Lawry's is so great. Ellen was so amazing to work with. She was alway accessible, even on her off days she managed to still reply back to our questions and her responses were always accomodating. She is the ideal coordinator to work with. She has a level of professionalism and calmness that is so needed when planning a wedding. Her assistant and the servers were also a pleasure to work with. Everyone was so friendly and happy to work with us.
I highly recommend having your reception at Lawry's. You will be in good hands and rest assured that your guests will LOVE the food! We really had no limitations when it came to our requests and it was so easy for our outside vendors to access the restaurant the day of the wedding. Never in our minds did we feel that we were not taken care of or that something was going to go wrong. With Ellen's expertise all your bases are covered so that all you need to do is enjoy the day.
Also, if I may recommed, if you want to splurge, the Lawry's monogrammed seasoning favors are great! All our guests still tell us how much they love our wedding favors.

I just had my wedding here yesterday at Lawry's and it couldn't be more perfect! Ellen, the restaurant coordinator, is such a pleasure to work with. We contacted Ellen, the event coordinator, in July. We met with her went over all of the details as far as options for both food and drink, as well as all the other information that is necessary when throwing a big event. Ellen is a true pro - very responsive and helpful. She did everything she could to accommodate us through every step of the planning process.
At the end of August, we went for a private tasting. We choose 8 appetizers and several entree choices to narrow down our menu. They were nice enough to allow my mother-in-law to come along. The samples were plentiful and we were able to choose 4 appetizers and a chicken, fish and vegetarian entree choice.
Lawry's does not provide wedding cakes, and because of this, they do not charge a cake cutting fee. In addition, they served ice cream and berries with the cake, which was a great touch.
We were able to decorate the venue to our liking. I loved having this flexibility. I gave my vision to the coordinator who executed it perfectly.
Lawry's also has the option of valet parking when holding an event of this nature. It was a nice touch for our guests.
Our ceremony started at approximately, 10:30am, followed by a cocktail hour with appetizers. We were not with our guests during this time, but we heard the appetizers were plentiful. After this, we launched into a lunch service, with the famous salad and sourdough bread. followed by the entrees. The food was all very delicious, as you would expect from Lawry's.
The event ended at 3pm, and the staff quickly began getting the space ready for dinner service which starts at 4pm. The time went so quickly!
I can't recommend this place enough for a venue to hold a wedding. It is elegant, spacious and very reasonably priced!

Lawry's has always been one of our favorite restaurants, so making the decision to get married there was an easy one... especially after reading all of the glowing reviews. The events manager, Ellen, and her assistant, Elisabeth, were helpful with the entire wedding planning process, quickly responded to all of our emails and gave great suggestions. They were also very accommodating with all of our requests... we asked to use their easel, their projector screen and their wireless mixer for the ceremony in the Oak room.Sent on 11/08/2013
Everything went like a charm on the big day. So many of our guests raved about the exceptional service the Lawry's staff provided and how delicious the food was. We had two types of hors d'hoeurves (Chicken Yakitori and Grilled Shrimp skewers) served during the time between the end of the ceremony and the start of reception. For the main courses, we offered the Prime Rib, Grilled Chicken with Orange Tarragon sauce and the Grilled Salmon with soy honey sauce.
The overall cost of our wedding was very reasonable. It was an additional $350 for the ceremony setup, but it's all worth it, because this made our wedding a one-stop shop, which is exactly what we wanted for our guests. The less driving they have to do, the more time they have to enjoy their day with us.
Overall, an A++ to Ellen and the Lawry's staff. Our wedding may be over, but we will surely be heading back there for dinner!

If you're looking for a morning wedding venue, like I was, this is perfect! The rates are very reasonable (keeping in mind it's a pricey restaurant to begin with) however the food is completely worth it.Sent on 11/10/2013
We got to pick our 3 other entrees: chicken piccata, sea bass with mango chutney, and mushroom ravioli. There's also an awesome kid's menu with prime rib (!!!), mac and cheese, chicken strips, and spaghetti & meatballs.
The restaurant does have it's own desserts - many of which are very delicious - however no cakes or cupcakes, so thankfully there's no fee for bringing in your own. There is a corkage fee however for every bottle of Lawry's alcohol you buy, they will waive one fee for you.
One of the biggest things for us was parking. In Los Angeles, it's pretty much a nightmare and the prices (valet, plus number of cars, times duration...) adds up very, very quickly. Lawry's has it's own private parking lot with somewhere around 200 parking spots. Valet is an optional addition.
The venue itself has a very distinct feel. The Oak Room - old English gentleman's club feel to it; Wine Room - Tuscan feel to it; main room has huge portraits of what I think may be English royalty, but overall is simply and elegantly decorated. There is a large mural of a garden in the main room, and while we were concerned about it to begin with, I'm glad we didn't cover it up. On that note - Lawry's is super flexible about decorating and there are no restrictions on the number of candles you can have (what?! kinda cool, someone could really use that to their advantage!).
Other helpful things:
- linens are included and they have a fair selection of colors
- large space with multiple rooms
- you can have the entire restaurant to yourself
- great wash room space (seriously, it's nice in there)
- flexible menu

Amazing service!!! We had our reception at Lawry's and it was so perfect. Ellen and Elisabeth are amazing and never failed to answer any of my questions. They made the planning such a breeze and I never had to worry about a thing. It was also such an exceptional value! Most venues charge a room fee, a parking fee, etc. Lawry's was able to fit my budget and everything was top quality. My parents came from out of state and they were so pleased with my choice. Serving good food at our wedding was one of the most important priorities that was decided years before the actual engagement. We learned about weddings at Lawry"s... The actual pricing for their in restaurant wedding packages were better than most (if not all) especially since you know your getting good food. We starting working with Ellen Fremaux, who was just a pleasure to work with. She was super informative during the decision process. Since Lawry's only does daytime weddings/events, Ellen recommended dimming the lights and adding candles to create the evening atmosphere. We used floral centerpieces, lots of candles and we also added up lights to create true wedding elegance.
The customer service was great! The food was fantastic! The compliments from our Guests... "BEST wedding food ever!" PRICELESS!

We worked with Ellen Fermaux and she was awesome. The food was delicious (as always) and it was just an all around great experience. The restaurant itself is so ornately decorated that we only did centerpieces. Working with Ellen and Lawry's was a breeze because everything is very well organized. What I also loved was that we only had to pay for the number of people who attended. This is very rare for a reception venue. The little touches were great- the spinning salad, ice cream and berries with the cake, and curtains for the entrances. They provide all the linens and if you choose to use different chairs, you can rent it all through them. Lawry's does not charge extra for cake cutting and they also provide the cake cutting supplies. There is a dance floor (they clear out the center tables) and you also have a ceremony option ($300). Most people think that Lawry's would be extremely expensive, but their prices were definitely reasonable and the service was great!

I am still in love with how my wedding, at Lawry's Prime Rib, turned out. I do not think I could find a better place to have it in. We did our ceremony in the Oak Room and it was so beautiful that I am still getting compliments on it. Ellen Fremaux was so helpful and was always there if I needed anything answered. Deciding to make Lawry’s our reception venue was 100% the right choice! Ellen Fremaux, the event coordinator, and Melissa Navarro, our day of coordinator, were wonderful to work with! They answer all my questions and concerns, and worked with us on running the reception smoothly. We couldn’t have asked for better coordinators that day. WONDERFUL, great to work with pre-wedding, during-wedding, and even afterward! Melissa (our Catering Manager) is wonderful - along with managing the catering staff and timeline - she takes on kind of a "coordinator" role as well and makes sure that everything is running smoothly even beyond the food/beverages. Lawry's was a wonderful, wonderful place to have a wedding. First of all, the decor is a kind of English country home look, which worked perfectly for our Steampunk-Victorian themed wedding. We couldn't have asked for a lovelier setting. And let me say this: absolutely delicious food and amazing, personalized service for a very affordable price. Lawry's was the only place we found that didn't immediately double the price of everything just because you're having a wedding instead of a corporate meeting. Ellen Fremaux is the catering manager for Lawry's, and she was a dream to work with, warm, responsive, smart, pragmatic, professional and she truly cared about how making our dream wedding come true. Ellen was just terrific to work with, as was Melissa Navarro, who also works with Lawry, and for an incredibly reasonable fee, was our Day of Coordinator. Melissa was always there to answer a question, and she handled everything down to every tiny detail. Everyone at Lawry's was totally laid back, and open to any kind of alterations and changes that we proposed. Open candles on the mantle? Sure! Pudding instead of ice cream? Sure! They were full of great suggestions, and had a wealth of experience that we mined to help us make our wedding the best it could be. And the food! Lawry's is also one of the few places we saw here in Los Angeles that didn't balk at the idea of serving more than one choice of entree to the guests. We had prime rib, chicken, fish, a vegetarian, and a vegan entree, which is apparently unheard of on LA unless you want to take out a second mortgage. When our first venue fell through we immediately thought of Lawry's for our wedding venue because we have enjoyed so many delicious and perfectly served meals there over the last few years. Right from the moment I e-mailed Ellen, their event manager I felt cared for and absolutely catered to for all our needs. The entire staff truly enjoys what they do, and it shows in the service. Our wedding went off perfectly and the guests were stunned by the decor and the food. I would hire them for any future event in perfect trust. The only thing I did not give 5 stars to is the fact the hours for weddings are fairly rigid. If you use the whole venue then the wedding needs to end by 3:30 pm, and early weddings don't work for everyone, but it did for us. The only criticism we have is that we were switched from working with the Marketing/Sales Director to the Sales Assistant in the last few weeks leading up to the wedding, which lead to some missed/changed details about our originally requested set-up, which were not discovered until the day of the event. These details were small enough to make very little difference in the overall quality of the event.

We only had about 70-80 guests so the dining room was the perfect size for us. The ceremony room was however on the smaller side, making the aisle walk a little too short. But the beautiful room compensate for it. Everything went smoothly with an exception of the salad serving. We had prepared a long slideshow and planned to have guests enjoy the salad while watching, only to find out that we couldn't do that. Wish we had known this earlier.
Our guests raved about the food. I especially loved the hors d'oeuvres. (Too bad they don't serve them at the restaurant). Overall, price is reasonable. Free parking underground and they don't charge cake cutting fee! You get to use the whole building since morning until about 3:30PM with no extra charge. Thank you Lawry's for making our wedding wonderful!

We knew immediately after meeting with Ellen and looking around that this was the perfect place for our wedding. We wanted a small and fairly simple wedding, but still something elegant that felt like "us", and Lawry's absolutely fit the bill, especially since we wanted to focus so much on the food! We had a morning wedding that was over around 3 p.m., and never planned on having a big party-like reception, so it was important to us that we fed our guests well. We were able to provide four different food options, and every one of them was praised by our guests. The setting and decor made it so easy to make things look nice. As my husband kept reassuring me, "Even if everything falls apart, it will all still look good", haha. They offered four different packages, which was crucial to our budget-wedding, and a list of vendors to help point us in the right direction for other aspects of our planning. Quality of Service: Some of my guests did not have the proper table settings. i.e. drank a sip of champagne out of a wine glass. Some did not get salad. We didn't get bread til after our salad. My sister did not get her food until almost everyone was done.Sent on 07/29/2009

Value for Cost: No charge for cake cutting, no extra cost aside from the food, drinks and 20% gratuity, unless you want to use another room set up for the ceremony. We paid $300 for set up fee. Not bad.
Flexibility: They're flexible.
