My wedding isn’t until June 1, 2019, but I’ve already had my trial makeup and I LOVED it! Lauren works with you to get the exact look you’re trying to achieve to make you feel beautiful on your big day! I can’t wait to walk down the isle and see my fiance’s reaction! -

She is so easy to communicate with and responds quickly with questions! I had the the ideal, sun-kissed tan!! Thank you!!

Julie Sent on 06/11/2015Lauren is amazing...but amazing does not even put things into words about Lauren and her team. I was referred to her by a friend for my wedding makeup. I was so excited to meet her for my trial and get things started. I had heard she was the best around and I was so eager to get in and meet with her! The moment I met her for my trial, I knew she was great!! She made me feel so comfortable and made me feel right at home!! She was very sweet and answered all of my questions that I had! She went above and beyond for me! I have also done a spray tan trial for my wedding with her. I was nervous because I have never done a spray tan but with Lauren, it was a breeze! She welcomed me and two of my friends in with open arms and we felt so comfortable doing our spray tans with her! I had just went to her for my spray tan for my wedding in a couple of days and I couldn't be more excited! She took such good care of me and I know her and her team will do the same this weekend for my wedding makeup! I recommend Lauren and her team to anyone who is getting married and anyone who wants their makeup done and a great tan! She is literally the best around!!!!! -

She was extremely accommodating and really listened to what I had wanted my makeup to look like for my wedding day. She was very professional and did an amazing job . I was a little disappointed with my makeup trial when I arrived and Lauren Bennett (the owner) was using a lot of profanity and complaining about tough bridesmaids she had earlier that morning. I understand stressful situations and wanting to decompress, but I thought it was very inappropriate to have that conversation in front of a prospective client. I ultimately chose Lauren T. as my makeup artist because she did not contribute to that conversation and acted very professional towards me, as well as doing a great job doing my makeup. -

I got married on June 6, 2025. It is important to note that Lauren uses her own line of makeup designed for sensitive skin. She applies airbrush makeup with a brush, not the airbrush machine. I am writing this lengthy review so other brides can avoid some of the mistakes I made for my wedding if you choose to use Beauty by Bennett as your hair/makeup company.
It was easy to contact and get in touch with Lauren. I booked with her originally because she was a bit cheaper than other vendors in our area and I liked the idea of makeup designed for sensitive skin (I am combination skin and acne-prone). I paid my $100 deposit In February of 2024. I went for the VIP bridal package and chose to have Lauren B (the owner) do my makeup.
I reached out to her March of 2024 to schedule my hair and makeup trial. I was using the trial for my engagement photo shoot with our photographer on May 2, 2024. Lauren quickly told me she was available to do makeup and would reach out to check availability for her hair stylist. I texted Lauren again in April to confirm hair/makeup services for the engagement shoot and she said she would reach out to the hair stylist and we were good to go. A few days before May 2nd, Lauren called and said she forgot to contact the hair stylist, so I would not have my hair trial that day but I would still get my makeup done.
I am someone that rarely wears makeup, so I wanted my makeup to look like me. The day of my first trial, I told Lauren I wanted a natural makeup look. My trial was at 1:30PM. We did airbrush makeup. She went really heavy on the eyeliner and the lashes she used were very thick. The makeup was a bit powdery and did not really seem to blend into my skin. She assured me that it takes some time for makeup to blend in to my skin. She said she did not do a full wedding makeup look due to engagement photos needing to be more natural. She assured me for the wedding, the makeup would be more full coverage. While doing the trial, she told me I had dry patches under my eyes and recommended I start doing monthly facials to help alleviate that, as makeup is only going to look as good as the skin it goes on. She did not use setting spray, as she said it would cause the airbrush makeup to run. It was warm that day, and my makeup started wearing off around 5:30PM.
In September I requested another trial so I could see hair and makeup together. At this point, I had been getting monthly facials from Hand and Stone. My skin was a bit more hydrated. I brought my sister along. I had my second trial in January 2025. My hair stylist, Amanda, did a great job! I showed her reference photos and she gave me a look very similar and I loved it! We had addressed timelines for the day of the wedding and her and Lauren told me it was important that the bride does not go last. When it came to makeup, Lauren used a primer on me that ended up causing my makeup to separate and look cakey, patchy, and powdery. I voiced my concerns while at her studio, but she said the makeup needed time to blend in with the natural oils of my skin and to go to brunch and give her updates towards the end of the night. She kind of wrote me off. During this trial, I noticed she complained a lot and did tend to have a negative demeanor. I sent photos of the makeup and how dissatisfied I was. She arranged to have me come back for another free trial a week later to see if we could fix the foundation issues. We decided to do more cream-products for foundation on one side of my face and keep the other more airbrush to see if that helped it look less powdery. It did look better, but at the end of the night it was still looking cakey and settling into any of my imperfections and accentuating any fine lines. I told Lauren I still was not loving the makeup and I would speak to my esthetician about the issues. I did, and they said my skin was not the problem. It may just be the products she was using were not right for my skin. Lauren said I could bring my own makeup products and she could professionally apply them. However, I did not want to spend hundreds of dollars on quality makeup for just my wedding day.
After 3 trials, I started getting anxious that my makeup would not make me feel bridal, provide proper coverage, or last for the duration of the day, and I decided to try out to other companies. They immediately provided me with makeup that lasted longer and was more what I was looking for. I called Lauren and cancelled my makeup services with her company, but still decided to use her for hair. She did offer to have her other makeup artist apply makeup for another free trial to see if I liked her application better. At this point, I was just ready to move on to someone that gave me the look I wanted right away. She gave me Amanda's phone number so I would contact her with any questions for the morning of regarding hair.
It took a while for me to get the invoice for hair services from Amanda and Lauren (due to it being sent to an incorrect email address) but we settled on 7 girls getting ready, plus me, for a total of 8 services. I did soon add a mother of the groom, for a total of 9 services for hair. Amanda had told me a start time of 7AM to be done by 11:30 AM, but we bumped it up to 6:30 for some extra time.
What is really important to note about Lauren is the contract you sign is on a piece of paper. I never got a copy sent to me, either paper or digital, until I requested it. All changes made are scribbled onto the paper, so it is hard to see what updates are added and to keep track of when we changed things.
For the morning of my wedding, 1 hair stylist was sent. Lauren had told me in person she would send 2 stylists, but it was my fault for not making sure that was written in the contract. Amanda did a wonderful job with our hair! She was constantly working and everyone looked beautiful! She was very sweet and calming and easy to work with! My only complaint is that she had me go last for hair services. There was a miscommunication between the makeup artists and Amanda as far as if hair/makeup would be done first for me and at what point in the morning I should have been serviced. I will say, Amanda did check in with the makeup artist at 10:30 to say we should begin my makeup so I am ready by 11:30. The makeup company I used did take a little longer than Amanda was used to for finishing makeup, so Amanda did not start my hair until 11:30 AM. My ceremony was at 1:30 and I did not finish hair until 12:15 PM. I did not feel like I was prioritized to be done by the timeline established. As the bride, you lose track of time, and I thought hair/makeup would at least have had me done by that established timeline so I could have ample time for getting ready photos. It led to me rushing to get dressed and in my dress, so I did not get the chance to take the photos I really wanted that morning before we left the hotel to get to the ceremony.
I did voice my concerns to Lauren after the wedding. She thought I had 7 people getting hair done. She said she wished she would have checked in with Amanda sooner to go over the details, because she would have sent 2 stylists if she knew 9 were getting done. She said Amanda also knew that the bride should never go last. She then told me I should voice concerns to Amanda, as she is the one I received services from. Overall, my hair and the hair of my girls looked amazing and we did make it to the ceremony on time.
However, Lauren seems a bit disorganized. If working with her, please make sure you get a copy of your contract early with the correct information on it. Double check your timelines and establish a schedule for you and your girls. Make sure hair/makeup is on the same page as far as prioritizing the bride's time of being completed. I understand I chose to have a different makeup company, so naturally they do not work the same way as Lauren's, but I hoped they would have chatted quickly in the morning to make sure we were on the same page as far as the timeline to make sure I was ready to go with ample time for photos before the ceremony. -

I was completely blind sided when this lady asked me to pay for my makeup upfront and would not leave me alone about it. Then she had the audacity to keep messaging me about my bridesmaids paying in full before the wedding month before the wedding! Saying its her livly hood and how she pays for stuff so she can get supplies and I HAVE NEVER heard of paying upfront like that and not the day of the wedding RIDICULOUS. I'd never ever recommend her to anyone I wish I never got involved with her.
