Phenomenal Artist and Person
Lauren is a phenomenal artist, and her talent, dedication, and hard work shines through her photos! She's dynamic, energetic, never "in the way", but ALWAYS snapping a photo of every precious moment. Lauren was the first vendor we hired, and we based our wedding date on her availability - best decision we made through the whole planning process!! We had a strict budget for our wedding, and have no regrets about cutting budget in other areas in order to have Lauren with us. 1000% worth it. On the wedding day, we had a tight timeline and I felt nervous about not having her recommended amount of time for each type of photo session (ie couples photos and time between ceremony and reception), but thankfully we still got a ton of great quality, beautiful photos. My advice is to definitely use Lauren's suggestions if she says you need more time, a lighting assistant, etc. An immense thank you again to Lauren, Sean, and the lighting assistant. Much love to you all- we hope you keep rising with your work and successes!! -

Writing a review for Lauren is probably the least thing I could do to thank her for the work she did on my wedding day. To say that she was absolutely incredible is an understatement. Words can't really describe how incredibly happy I was with her and everything that she did for us. My emotions while looking through all of the pictures can tell you exactly how I felt. I laughed, I cried, I rolled my eyes in laughter, I smiled at every single one, and most of all I felt such an immense amount of love. The wedding day is a whirl wind and you try to do as much as you can to soak it all in, but seeing my pictures helped me relive it all again and see moments that I wasn't able to see. She was able to capture shots of people who are near and dear to us, and her pictures conveyed the personality of us as a couple as well as our family and friends. We wanted a wedding photographer who had a photo journalistic style, and Lauren encompasses that and so much more. She is immensely talented. I already cherish every single picture so much! They are all perfect even with the imperfections from others point of view. They convey life, love, and everything in between. They make you laugh and smile and those things are some of the most important feelings you can feel in the world. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Lauren! -

Vibrant Memories
Lauren just sent me the photos from our wedding day and I am overwhelmed and overjoyed. The photos are full of life and color. Looking through them allows me to relive every moment of my wedding. In addition, Lauren captured all of those beautiful and funny moments I wasn't present for. It was so special to see our family and friends celebrating together, and I can't wait to share these photos with them. Her online gallery also makes it simple to share and download all of the photographs at high resolution.
I'm so happy and grateful that Lauren photographed our wedding - she preserved the beautiful moments from our big day for us to remember on the little days. -

Lauren and her team were the easiest and hands down the best decision we made for our wedding planning. Without question. She is an explosive talent, looking at our photos, they are so beautiful, so carefully crafted - each one a piece of art - I honestly feel like honored to be in them lol!
She seamlessly transformed our wedding into something out of a Channel Paris catalogue, all while capturing so many insightful, impactful creative moments anyone else would have missed!
I still have tears in my eyes looking at the photos, and I imagine I will continue to every time I do! The moments of family that she captured are so profoundly moving I can not even begin to thank her enough, such cherished memories will be preserved thanks to her!
Not only the photos move me, Laurn and her team went above and beyond their roles as photographers! They made everyone feel comfortable even those who were camera shy. Being a mother herself, Lauren was SO attentive to my 4 year old. She captured priceless moments, and moved in stride when tantrums interrupted the schedule.
She was incredibly accommodating to the flow of the day, and the energy of everyone she was photographing. Regardless of the heat, the mud, and the bugs her professionalism and positive energy was contagious!
At one point Lauren and team were even handing out my ceremony programs. (When a family member forgot) Not to mention the endless times both of them were on the ground, literally cleaning my train with rags over and over again! Only to have me cut it off in the end.
I honestly don't think I have ever been treated as kindly, even though I was the bride, their efforts of kindness and thoughtfulness to my needs not just as a bride extended throughout the entire booking process, day of, and beyond!
She is SO worth it, and then some. I would recommend her to the smallest or largest wedding! A bride has to worry about 1000 and ten things, but choosing Lauren will be without a doubt will be a breeze! -

Title says it - Lauren and her team were one of the best things about our day. She has such an amazing style and thinks of shots that are so different. We've gotten a preview of her work and we are left speechless. She captures the emotion and love of the day in such amazing detail. Aside from the actual product of the day, Lauren is kind and FUNNY and really puts you at ease. Cannot recommend enough!! -

The best pictures!
My husband and I recently got married in November. Lauren and Miguel were nothing short of AMAZING. They were extremely helpful and professional and such stress relievers the day of. Leah Sent on 07/09/2018Lauren Brimhall Photography is simply extraordinary. If you are looking for photojournalistic style wedding photography, stop looking at other photographers' websites and hire LBP immediately! (Seriously, she is in high demand and books up quickly).
Lauren's photography matches her personality: both are quirky, fun, sharp, and, best of all, honest. Lauren takes her craft very seriously, and her passion for her work shines through each one of her photographs. Lauren and Sean's enthusiasm, confidence, and positivity are infectious, which I now realize are great attributes for wedding photographers to have. Lauren and Sean's all-around good vibes allowed us to feel comfortable being our true and most vulnerable selves on the big day. What's more, Lauren and Sean will do almost anything to get the shot! We even had a bear (yes! a live bear!) make an appearance at our camp wedding, and Lauren and Sean actually went TOWARD the bear to get a shot of it. During our engagement shoot, Lauren climbed and wrapped herself around a pole to get the perfect shot of us. In short, thanks to all Lauren and Sean's hard work, we now have the images that truly capture the feelings that we and our guests experienced on our big day. But you don't need me to explain how good LBP photography is; you can check out the website and see for yourself! Lauren has an incredible portfolio filled with tons of award-winning photographs.
Beyond her sheer talent, Lauren's behind-the-scenes work is outstanding and truly enhances the value of her service. Lauren is incredibly responsive and helpful. I honestly don't know when she sleeps. We had quite a few email exchanges leading up to the engagement shoot and the wedding, and she was able to respond usually within the same day with very detailed, thoughtful answers to our questions. She has tons of great ideas for shots, but also supports your ideas for shots as well. In short, Lauren let us feel heard and seen. We are honored to be LBP clients. -
Stefania Sent on 12/19/2017I truly can’t say enough about Lauren and her team. My husband and I got married at a summer camp, and we were looking for a photographer whose personality grooved with ours. She is truly talented, so much so that I haven’t been able to pick which photos I want in my album because I LOVE THEM ALL!!!! Instead, we decided we would have a 3-volume wedding album of our wedding weekend – Friday Night, Saturday Day and Saturday Reception/After Party, because every picture is a frame-worthy.
I would say that 90% of our pictures were candid, but that is what we wanted. We wanted pictures of actual moments, rather than posed/formal pictures. Lauren and her team were so easy and fun to work with, and her pictures really helped capture the memories and “feel” of the weekend. I didn’t even know they were there half the time, which is why our pictures are completely natural. We’ve already recommended her around 6 times to newly engaged couples. When my husband and I have kids and are ready for a family photo session, we will undoubtedly hire her.
Here is a picture from our wedding, which, I must say, is a killer shot. And yes, I decided to go zip lining after the ceremony instead of taking formal photos. Carpe Diem!

She went above and beyond to get amazing photos of every stage of the wedding day. She even stepped into a pond and spent the evening with wet socks just to get a beautiful shot of my wife and I. She captured not just the events of the day, but the spirit of the entire event that we tried so hard to establish. Simply put, go with Lauren. You will not be disappointed. -

Seriously we looked at so many wedding photographers and Lauren's photos are completely unique - each shot is full of life and energy and distinctly captures the feel of a moment. She sent through our edited photos only 3 weeks after the wedding and looking through them was like reliving the most wonderful day of our lives. We will cherish these shots forever.
Aside from the BRILLIANT creative work that Lauren and her team do, they are all so professional and fun to work with. Lauren arrived early the day of the wedding and started shooting right away even though we had only contracted her for 8 hours (by the way, GET MORE! I believe after we signed our contract they increased their minimum service time, for good reason. 8 hours sounds long but it really flies by, and we were on the dance floor for about 2 hours after the photographers left. Our only regret is that we didn't get even more photos!). Jim and Angel were complete pros as well - my husband and his party had a blast shooting with Angel. And listening to Jim and Lauren discuss the lighting setup was like listening to eccentric scientists trying to get just the right chemical reaction. It really is an art and a science with these guys.
If you want wedding photos that really feel like YOU and not anyone else, go with LBP! -

I am so grateful to have heard about Lauren through my brother and sister-in-law who hired her for their wedding. When their wedding day arrived, I watched in awe as Lauren and her team captured my brother's wedding with this incredible energy. They worked harder than any photographer I have ever seen. The lengths I saw Lauren go to that night to capture what was happening was absolutely incredible. At one point I believe she was on Sean's shoulders just to get a better angle for a shot. LBP do not simply take pictures, they truly have the instinct and creativity to capture beautiful moments regardless of what commotion surrounds them. It was so evident they are also just so dedicated to the work they do and being able to provide their customers with top notch quality work.
When it came time for my wedding, I looked through some photographers' portfolios and I really felt that the quality simply did not compare to those of LBP. After exhausting my options within my area, I looked back through LBP's portfolio and decided they were the absolute best and it was worth a try seeing if they would be able to photograph my wedding. I was nervous about the distance, as my wedding was in a different state than my brothers, but Lauren was so gracious and let us know that she would be able to make the trip for our wedding. Lauren was both professional, kind, communicative and helpful through the entire planning process. The COVID-19 pandemic threw us into a whirlwind in terms of planning, but we were lucky enough that our wedding was post vaccine and things were beginning to open up. After reaching back out to Lauren to confirm everything and to let her know that we were moving forward as planned, she confirmed that everything was set and ready for the big day.
On the day of the wedding, Lauren and her team did such an amazing job, and I really appreciated that they asked us if there were any additional shots we wanted. They also shared some ideas for shots they had for us, but never pressured us when we decided we rather enjoy the moment and keep dancing. I remember during the Egyptian Zaffa, I made eye contact with Lauren who was right in the middle. I'm pretty sure she almost got hit with an instrument. She gave me a look like "that was close!" Nothing stopped her and she was fearless. For the majority of the reception, you wouldn't even notice LBP were there. They were everywhere they needed to be and yet somehow blended in.
We finally received all of our photos within the timeframe promised by LBP and I couldn't be happier. The quality of the photos, the thought and care that went into each shot, the creativity and lighting - everything is perfect. I'm beyond thrilled and honored to have had LBP capture my big day, and hope to have the opportunity to work with her again in the near future for another event. I really feel that LBP's work compares to no other, and you won't easily find another photographer who works as hard for literally every single shot. I can't say enough good things and can't recommend LBP enough! Thank you again, so much appreciation and love to the LBP team! -

Lauren has a lovely portfolio and seems like a highly skilled photographer. However, I would not recommend her for any events that are "non-standard" or too complicated. She is limited in her ability to cover longer events and she will expect you to compromise on things to accommodate her schedule. In addition, after receiving a 66% deposit and performing no photography, she refused to refund any portion of our deposit once schedules were legally forced to change due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
She is not someone I would recommend photographing such an important day of your life.
Detailed timeline:
After reviewing Lauren's portfolio, we reached out to her about 15 months before our wedding (initial contact in Feb 2019). We thought (and still think) her work is great and was looking forward to having her photograph our Indian wedding. Since it is an Indian wedding, the events take place over a series of days. We provided her the high level details and signed a contract with her. The plan was:
- 3 hours for Day 1
- 3 hours for Day 2
- 14 consecutive hours for Day 3 (since we would be breaking up the day with the wedding in the morning, followed by a break, and the reception in the evening)
We decided not to move forward with engagement photos from her since she would not travel to NYC or Boston, as it was too far from her home in New Jersey. At this point, things were good and we planned on discussing the details closer to the date.
In the meantime, she collected her initial deposit of 33%, as well as an additional deposit of 33% in Sept 2019.
Fast forward to Feb 2020 (3 months before our wedding), when things started to deteriorate. We worked with our day-of coordinator to put together the timeline of our wedding which we promptly shared with Lauren. The final day of the wedding started at 7 am and ended at 12 am (17 hours) - with a 3.5 hour break between the morning and the evening. We were aware that the contract only covered 14 continuous hours but reached out to Lauren to see if could extend coverage (willing to pay) given the included break.
Lauren responded by asking us if it was possible to shrink down or compress the timeline in some way. We understand why she asked, but we were not willing to change our wedding to accommodate her schedule and responded with several options, one of which included hiring a second photographer who could stay a bit later. Lauren replied saying she did not recommend hiring a second photographer because their work would not match her's (to quote " I would personally REALLY prefer to be there to cover the bulk of the full wedding story."). She also pushed us to try and change the event timeline or condense the wedding yet again. When we pushed back on organizing our wedding around her schedule, she then gave us a call, saying she is typically not comfortable shooting for more than 14 hours due to medical limitations and she did not want that to be an issue during the wedding. She agreed to add 2 more hours to the coverage (paid) with the understanding that she may have trouble. We agreed, since we wanted to follow her recommendation of covering the bulk of the full wedding story.
Then comes COVID-19. At the beginning of March we realized that we may not be able to have our wedding at the end of April. After finally making that decision in mid-March, we emailed Lauren letting her know that we would need to postpone our wedding to keep our loved ones safe. Our venue had only one weekend left as many of events had already been re-booked at this point due to all the changes stemming from COVID-19.
She responded letting us know that she was not available that weekend, but was available in November if we wanted to move our wedding. This was confusing because as we stated, the venue was unavailable. She also told us that people in the event industry are feeling the worst of it - a bit of a weird comment since literally everyone in the world was starting to be negatively affected, but we understand she was thinking about herself and how she personally was going to get through this.
She then suggested that she could do partial wedding coverage, hiring a separate photographer and move hours around. This was concerning because it was not in line with her previous recommendations and required her working extended hours which she is uncomfortable with.
She then asked us again to adjust our wedding event timeline, telling us we were going to have to make compromises to accommodate her availability.
As time progressed, there was an executive order put in place prohibiting large gatherings. At this point it was no longer optional and we were actually unable to have our wedding per our contract. Neither of us could legally hold up our end of the deal. When we brought this to her attention, she replied by sending us a cancellation form for the contract and informing us that our entire deposit was non-refundable (66% of the contract). She proceeded to loop in her business associate Sean Brimhall, who started threatening us, telling us that it was our choice to cancel our wedding (as if I had any control of this disease and the executive order placed by our state government), and refused to negotiate at all. Ultimately, Lauren has refused to refund any portion of our deposit, has performed no photography for us, and continues to claim that because we moved the date, it is our fault.
It is unfortunate things ended up this way. I think Lauren has great talent. However, she has no sense of customer service and cannot handle complicated situations or intricate wedding events. In addition, she is comfortable forcing legal action for us to recover our sizable deposit - a deposit for which no work was performed and for an event that was legally unable to take place.
You might want to consider an alternative photographer to hire for your wedding.
