The best in the business!

Laura’s Couture was recommended to me by my wedding planner and I’m so glad I chose them! My dress needed a lot of alterations (tightening the straps, reducing the cup sizes, letting out the hips, hemming, and adding a bustle) and it was beaded from top to bottom. Everything was executed to perfection! They were so professional and helpful at each fitting. They even went above and beyond to help my sister (and matron of honor) whose dress was so poorly hemmed by a different tailor. It was a week before my wedding and they fixed the hem within hours! Truly a remarkable team!

She is magic!

Attention to detail with your wedding dress!

Laura’s couture did amazing work on my wedding dress. The front of my dress needed extra length and no one would know of the addition. They matched the lace so beautifully. They spent time teaching my MOH the bustle. On my wedding day, my dress fit to a T.

Restored my family heirloom dress!

Wearing my family dress (both my mother's and my grandmother's, an original Alfred Angelo from the 1950s) was my lifelong dream, but when my mom and I un-boxed it shortly after my engagement, I almost lost hope upon realizing how much work it needed.
I took it to a few different places in Houston, getting responses like "I can take the entire thing apart and try to make a new dress" and "I could do it for three times your budget," before I found Laura Couture and Alterations. The first time I took my dress in, Karime helped me believe for the first time that it was both possible, and affordable.
Not only did she restore it -- including delicate lace and a horsehair-supported peplum -- she altered it in a way keeping with my personality and vision: taking off the sleeves, cutting down the neckline to be something more comfortable and flattering, and adding boning and cups for support. Karime's alterations made my dress feel like *mine,* and it was so beautiful (and functional) for my big day! I am so, so grateful to Laura Couture and Alterations and so impressed by their work.

Laura’s Couture and Alterations was absolutely AMAZING to work with! Her team transformed my sample Galia Lahav Gown from Ivory Bridal Atelier into an unforgettable sight. I picked a Galia Lahav dress, “Odette” but wanted the “Ms. Elle” gown by the same designer. However, due to my budget I could not. I took my Odette gown to their alteration boutique and they transformed my dress into the most beautiful wedding dress I had ever seen and I couldn’t tell the difference between the Ms. Elle and the oroginal Odette I had purchased. In my first photo, it shows a model wearing Ms. Elle, then what my original dress looked like (Odette) and finally with the added lace and newly placed straps and even new sheer where there was a hole, my dress as a finished product followed by other photos of me in it

Laura’s Couture & Alterations saved my wedding dress! I wish I had gone with them from the start, but I live in San Antonio and had travelled to Houston to buy my dress from BHLDN. I figured I would get it tailored in San Antonio to save myself the trip to Houston. In spite of good reviews on Yelp (including for wedding dresses), my seamstress in San Antonio couldn’t figure out how to bustle my tulle dress (she even suggested cutting off the train!) and also managed to screw a few things up with the dress. Two weeks before my wedding I got my dress back from her and called BHLDN very worried to see if they had any recommendations. They referred me to Laura’s Couture & Alterations, and they were able to squeeze me in about 10 days before the wedding! It was so worth the trip, and they finished everything in such a short time frame. They even managed to fix the mistakes my previous seamstress made and beautifully bustled the dress. They saved my dress, and I would highly recommend them!

THESE GUYS ARE ABSOLUTE MIRACLE WORKERS. I lost 50 lbs before my wedding, and my size 12/14 dress had to be taken in 8 inches!! I was so afraid that I was going to have to end up purchasing a new dress. But nope! This place did such an absolutely wonderful job altering the gown. It is absolutely stunning and I could not have asked for anything more. If you are looking for the best place to get your gown altered, a place that you can truly trust, take it to Laura's Couture!

Laura's Couture & Alterations did a fabulous job altering my wedding dress. They are clearly extremely knowledgeable regarding wedding dress alterations. They were confident in the work that needed to be done to the dress and were able to convince me to do all of the right things when I was a little unsure (ex: how tight to make the strapless dress, how long to make the dress so I could walk but it still skimmed the ground). The dress worked out perfectly. I was super comfortable and was able to dance all night. I got so many compliments on the dress and it was in big part because Laura's did such a great job making sure it fit me perfectly. They were really expensive, but worth every penny.

After researching a legit place to have my wedding gown altered and customize, noticed after reading the reviews from Laura's Couture, this would be THE PLACE! I did not want to get my dress altered/customized at the bridal salon where I purchased my gown, because their style seemed a bit odd, along with other cons I which to not discuss.

I made an appt with Laura's Couture Alterations and immediately when I put my gown on they treated my like a queen. Their style, note-taking, snapping photos, and just being sure they are being as precise as possible was incredible. They saw my vision and much more and a month or so when I went back for my fitting with the customizations completed - I was blown out of this world, and cried. YES, it was tears of joy!!! They knew exactly how to make my wedding gown fit perfectly on my body and etc. Laura's Couture is absolutely incredible.

I know you're someone who is searching for the place to have your wedding gown done at, and on a budget. Please know that this place is worth every penny. I was on a tight budget myself, but ladies this is the most important dress you'll ever wear and want to have someone do it that is trustworthy and actually know what they're doing. You have to get your alterations done here, even if it's over your budget. It is seriously worth every penny you spend.

I will definitely be doing back for just about everything now!

The staff at Laura's Couture is a joy to work with. They listened to our requirements for my daughter's wedding gown alterations and my mother of the bride dress and made all the adjustments we requested. Then, when we decided to add a cathedral veil TWO DAYS before my daughter's bridal portraits, they made it (and made it beautifully!). You get great service and quality for your alterations from Laura's Couture, and I highly recommend them.

Laura's Couture and Alterations was excellent! I just needed to get a bustle added to my dress, and Karime did an amazing job! I was nervous because I loved the train of my dress, and I didn't like most pictures I had seen of dress bustles, but she took one look at my dress and immediately designed a unique bustle that was gorgeous! It held perfectly for the whole reception and looked amazing. They were quick and easy and so friendly to work with too. I would highly recommend them!!

This place does a beautiful job on wedding gown alterations. They work quickly and professional. Not only did they alter my dress, but they also added full length sleeves to a strapless gown. I highly recommend them.

I wore a green dress for my wedding. Because I waited until the last minute (I know!) I purchased the dress only about six weeks before the wedding. I went to Laura's Couture and Alterations to have significant alterations to rebuild the bodice of the dress. They ensured my dress fit perfectly and worked with me for almost two hours to ensure that a specific seam lay correctly.

LAURA'S COUTURE & ALTERATIONS did an AMAZING job on my alterations for both my wedding dress and my reception dress, which happened to be my grandmother's 57 year old dress. My grandmother's dress was made out of linen and there was no give. I had to drop 2 dress sizes to fit into it. I did drop the weight but I found 10 pounds the week before my wedding. I thought I would not be able to wear my grandmother's dress to the reception and bought a backup dress. But, LAURA'S COUTURE & ALTERATIONS was able to work their magic and let out a few seams. I looked like princess walking down the aisle with my Daddy and queen dancing the night away with my Husband in my grandmother's dress at the reception. I can't thank them enough! They will definitely be getting more business from me and my friends, since I was the first one getting married out of six of my bridesmaids.

Laura's Couture & Alterations were amazing. I purchased my very expensive designer wedding dress from Kleinfeld which had a lot of sequins and beading and was very delicate and intricate. I thought it would be impossible to alter it (as it was SOOOOO detailed), and make the alterations in time, as my wedding was a month away. But she did it :) Laura got me in for my initial appointment as soon as my dress came in. Everyone at the shop was so friendly and knowledgeable, it was a great experience.

When she finished my dress it was amazing! I have no idea how she did it! It looked exactly the same and fit like a glove. She is very talented.

I would recommend that anyone and everyone go to her, she pays very close attention to detail and takes excellent care of your dress while in her shop.

Although the price was a little up there, It was completely worth it!! Next to the fortune I payed for my dress this was nothing.

Laura also made me a veil with Swarovski crystals which was beautiful; she is very very talented and has a great eye and hands.

Wonderful! Would highly recommend!!! I really wanted pockets put into my dress and she said no problem and it only cost $50! She had to take it in twice and hem ALOT. My dress turned out stunning! Would highly recommend!

Blessed hands! Amazing work and very sweet lady. My wedding dress was a tulle over satin, completely beaded dress with crystals and they did a great job. She adjusted the bodice to perfection and hem it. Even though there was a lot to hem she managed to sew in all the beading and lace and no one can say that dress was worked on! She also managed to pick up the train in a very elegant manner. One thing is all alterations have to be done with time. I did mine 6 months before the wedding. She is quite busy and she does everything on time for everyone, therefore the earlier the better. Thank you so much Lauras' Couture

I purchased my dress in Canada but my wedding was in Houston. I was nervous about going to a seamstress in a different country and one not known by the bridal salon where I bought my dress.
I phoned several Houston bridal salons and asked for recommendations on where to go. After visiting 3 different seamstresses and receiving quotes, Laura's was on-par with the other three locations for price. What differentiated them is their kindness. Since I moved to Houston without any family and my bridal party all in different cities, my appointments were just me - so I needed to feel like they cared and would give me honest advice - which they did.

Carmine was very sweet, and knew exactly what I needed to get done. Once I explained what I wanted, her expert hands just started pining away. She had to reconstruct the arm holes, add in boning to support the dress better, and take in parts of the dress to create the silhouette I wanted - so a fair amount of work. My dress was beaded and with lace, so a lot of intricate details too!

The dress fit like a glove on my wedding.

The wedding store I ordered my couture wedding dress from recommended a size based on my measurements, but when it arrived, it was almost 4 sizes too small and, because it was couture, I had signed a no returns agreement! There wasn't enough time to lose enough weight to make up the difference, but the experts at Laura's Couture & Alterations saved the day.. They literally took apart every single seam in my dress and resewed it giving me the extra inches I needed to be able to be comfortable on my wedding day. They also raised the hem to match my shoe height, created 3 layers of beautiful bustles in back and made me some cap sleeves out of my extra tulle that I could snap off after the church ceremony. The bustles were color coded yet invisible, making my dress easy to adjust and beautiful. The prices at Laura's are expensive. Very expensive, for me it was like buying a 2nd wedding gown, but it was 100% worth every penny. As an added bonus, the staff was wonderful to work with. I wish they did other tailoring too because I would send them my entire wardrobe.

I was so happy with their services and can't recommend them enough! Such warm people who make your dress alteration experience fun and stress free. My dress was altered in several ways and I was worried about the end result but it turned out to be outstanding. They are definitely on the higher side $$ so prepare to spend on the alterations =)

I absolutely loved my experience with Laura's Couture & Alterations! I was late getting my dress altered and was working late hours at the time, and they were flexible with my schedule and finished my dress quickly. My dress was a sample, and Karime made it look better than new. I got so many compliments on the dress and the bustle.

They were very friendly and kind. I loved Karime; she listened to my questions and needs attentively and explained everything so well. My dress has a lace bodice with many crystals. I asked for them to add cap sleeves and to raise the height of the bust line as well as taking it in at the hips. It was Perfect. It's like the dress was originally made that way. I'm so glad I came to them. Excellent. :-)

Ms. Karime is an angel. She took my nightmare of a dress from Alfred Angelo (Willibrook) and completely transformed it! It was amazing. It IS amazing! She sculpted it to fit my body perfectly. She is a bit pricey but worth every Penny. She cares about your dress as much as you do.

This place was fabulous. I was really desperate after having another place really mess up my bustle and alterations not once but twice. So I was desperate by the time I came here and needed my alterations done in less than a month. They were timely, professional, and got it perfect the first time. She also made some wonderful suggestions on some other tiny fixes that made the fit so much better and was something that the other place said they couldn't do. I was so happy with the alterations and the best thing is that the price was actually less expensive than the previous place I had went to and their attention to detail was so much better. I would highly recommend them for any wedding gown alterations.

I purchased a Lazaro Tara Keeley gown for my wedding day. On 2 different occasions, I saw brides wearing the gown and each time, I did not like it. I showed the seamtress at the store where I purchased the gown photos of how I did not want the dress to fit. After leaving them, something was NOT right with the dress. Carime immediately saw the problem and addressed it. She makes the dress appear that it is painted on you. She contours the garment to fit the curves if your body in a way that no one else can.

My engagement was very short (just over 2 months) and Laura's Couture and Alterations were so amazing! I bought my dress at the most fabulous shop called Marry Go Round Bridal and they referred me to Laura's. They were amazing, flexible, fast, and the quality of service was unbelievable beautiful! I highly recommend them! My husband and I had the PERFECT day! Laura's made that happen.

Karime was amazing! I purchased a very delicate, couture dress that had to be taken in several sizes and have the neckline altered. Karime was able to make small snips and pin the neckline and dress so I had a good idea of what it would look like (while still being reversible if I didn't like it) before she did the alterations. She listened carefully to what I wanted and made great suggestions to make the dress more flattering. Karime designs and makes dresses so I trusted her to basically remake my already expensive dress. The result was even better than I expected! She was great to work with and did little extra things for me. Reasonable pricing. I will definitely go back to Karime if I ever need any evening wear made or clothing altered. Couldn't be happier with my choice to work with Karime!

Laura is amazing! I found a applique that I wanted place on my dress and she did a perfect job getting that on. When I went to my final fitting my dress fit like a glove. She is shear perfection.

My wedding dress turned out PERFECT!! Karime is AMAZING! Being 5'2", I had to shorten my dress, which had many layers. Also, I wanted my strapless top altered to a sweetheart neckline. I couldn't believe how amazing my dress looked! Karime is a very talented lady. The price of the alterations were more than reasonable, especially for all the work that had to be done. She and Fabio (the office manager) were so warm, cool, and collected. Don't go anywhere else to get your wedding dress altered. This is your wedding dress, so you need to go to the BEST. You will be happy that you were able to wear your dream dress on your wedding day. I sure did. Thank you, Karime and Fabio, for making our wedding day so special. And to allow me to feel like the beautiful bride I was hoping for!!

Fabulous place to go!! I had to make a last minute appointment because Alfred Angelo quoted me $270 for alterations on my $425 dress. They were able to get me in and get my dress altered in time! The quality of work was amazing. I had forgotten my wedding shoes for the alterations and the tailor was able to estimate for me perfectly! I also didnt feel like they were trying to rob me blind. I asked about taking my dress in more, and the tailor made suggestions not to. She said and I quote "It wont make a big difference so save yourself $70" I thought that was awesome

I received dozens of comments about how beautiful my dress was, and specifically about how well it FIT. The bodice was absolutely perfect for my body, so much so that people actually commented on it. That is how good a job Laura's did. Not only that, but I was stuck in rush hour traffic on the way to the shop, and they actually kept the shop open for a half hour past closing for me to do my final fitting. They also custom-made my veil and it was PERFECT--a beautiful cathedral-length masterpiece. I absolutely recommend them and would send my sisters, friends, daughters, anyone there for bridal alterations. I'm so glad I found this shop.

My wedding dress was perfect except for the length. since my dress was half mermaid style and had lots of rousing at the bottom I was a little worried about how it was going to be able to be altered without ruining the design. Laura's Couture Alterations did a stupendous job. you couldn't even tell they altered it after it was done. she did nothing to the bottom instead she took the time to completely detach the bottom of the skirt from the dress where the rousing started and alter it from there to avoid ruining the design. I also had a belt added to my dress and she took the time to take the pearl buttons going down the back out and sew the belt in and then re sew the buttons back on over the belt to make it look like the belt came on the dress already. the dress was flawless and they did an amazing job!

Karime was great! I bought a sample that was 2 sizes too big for me, and she made it fit like a glove. She even fixed my neckline and beading of the dress. She was very nice, flexible, and she delivered when she sid she would. I think the prices are on the higher end, but it's worth for quality work!!

They took the time to listen to my needs and were very patient with me. My dress is a high end dress and I was scared to take it to just any alteration company in fear that they might mess it up. I had a great experience with Fabio and Karime. I didn't need to get a lot of alterations done but I was very happy with how Karime was able to do exactly what was needed to make my dress fit perfectly! Everything was done in timely fashion and they were always in contact with me to confirm appointments. After my bridal shoot my dress had a couple of noticeable stains on it and I was afraid it wouldn't come off, but Fabio and his staff did a wonderful job and my dress was perfect for my wedding day! They didn't even charge me for the extra cleaning! I highly recommend them!

I had a wonderful experience with Laura! She took in my completely lace dress a full 4 inches and shortened it almost a half of a foot! She did an absolutely perfect job!!!! She had to put every bead back on by hand. She was so excited to share this experience with us. Her happiness/excitement/abilities made this experience perfect. Her boutique is adorable and in a very nice area! She also has a large selection of gorgeous veils available for purchase. I was SO happy with my experience. Highly recommended!!!

She is wonderful. I bought my dress from a consignment shop and it was several sizes too large. She altered it perfectly and took out several petticoat layers to make it seem like it was made for me. I would highly suggest going to Karime. She does high quality work and is very affordable. I've known other brides whose alterations cost MORE than their dress! That is just ridiculous and there is no need for that. Her bustles are obsolutely gorgeous and I can't wait for everone to see my dress. It was wonderful to work with Karime and Laura- they took good care of me and listened to my concerns and ideas about how I wanted my dress altered. Karime is one of the best Houston area tailors and made my gorgeous dress fit like a glove!

Her bustles are especially pretty and unique- I've never seen a bustle that makes the dress look even prettier like hers do!

We were so impressed that we asked her to alter my mothers dress also.

Karime Morales is a wedding dress genius. I ordered a dress from Encore Bridal (if you want a designer dress in perfect condition for a fraction of the price, this is your place) online - it was a beautiful Jenny Lee dress, but it didn't fit (I didn't expect it to). Karime altered it beautifully and created the most gorgeous bustle. I have 2 other friends getting married this year, and both opted to go with Karime at Laura's Couture and Alterations rather than having alterations done at the bridal salons where their dresses were purchsed. She will clean your dress, as well (mine had a few dirty spots after bridal portraits), and is so kind and professional. I would highly recommend having alterations done by her!

I too had read comments on wedding wire and heard all the good things other brides had to say about their alterations. So I drove all the way from the other side of town and I am so glad I did. I was very very happy with the outcome of my gown. I have a corset back gown that simply needed alterations for the length and a bussle; however she also altered a few sections in the bust area. It turned out very beautiful, I love my gown even more! She was very attentive to details and what I was comfortable with. I would recommend her to anyone.

I bought my dress at David's Bridal. I had tried on several dresses and loved the one I bought, except for one thing. It wasn't a sweetheart neckline. David's Bridal offered to "pin it" in the middle to make it "appear" sweetheart. I was nervous from the beginning to have David's Bridal do my alterations, so I took my dress to Princess Bridal in Spring, Texas. Karime with Laura's Couture & Alterations did an amazing job! It took one appointment for pinning and measurements, and at my second appointment it fit perfectly and the sweetheart neckline looked like it had been made that way from the start. My dress is PERFECT thanks to Karime. You can't trust just anyone with your dress, but brides you CAN trust this vendor!

Laura's Couture had the tough job of re-doing my dress after another seamstress altered it incorrectly. She was very patient and professional. I thought that I would have to start over and get a new dress, but she was able to save the dress. She had to re-do all of the beading and reopen the dress to make new alterations. She was wonderful to work with.

Karime was amazing! She took the time to make sure every part of my dress was perfect. My hem and bustles were very complicated and she made them to look beautiful.
My mother and I had different ideas for the dress and in the end we were extremely satisfied and all for a reasonable price. I will recommending my friends to her in the future. Thank you so much :)

All I can say is that the wedding gown I brought to her for alteration came out better than when it was not yet altered. She seemed like she had a magic wand that fixed ALL the parts of the gown that needed to be fixed. It felt so good when I tried it on and I am excited to wear it coz I know that the gown is perfectly fitted on me. Karime, more power to you! You are soooo good!

What a fabulous job. She had to replace zipper with an insert that laces up. The insert looked better than the original. Her coding on the bustle was easy to follow and the pleats cascaded beautifully.
