Amy Sent on 05/20/2026Laura Westrem Artistry: A Quality Vendor for Hair and Make-Up
I initially had some “sticker-shock” with the price, but Laura Westrem went above and beyond to ensure I was prepared on my wedding day. She went through two practice runs for the price of one, and even came to my place on a time-crunch. We ended up missing my arm make-up on the wedding day, but we had a little less time from my breakfast and parking, and it didn’t affect too many of my pictures.
In the first rehearsal, at her studio, she demonstrated a few hairstyles, and took lots of pictures for me to see the details and how the make-up appeared in photos. Laura gave me a lovely hairpiece to go with my hairstyle. She even provided some dinner for me, since I came directly from work and stayed a few hours.
The second trial run took place at my apartment (quite a drive from her location), and was on crunch time - before my wedding rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. So, she got some extra practice, and I got to be all made-up for my rehearsal. :) Also during this run-through, Laura gave me items to prepare for my wedding day: teeth-whitening strips, a spare make-up touch-up kit, a special facial mask to hydrate my skin for the night before my wedding, special dots to help clear up my skin, etc. I felt prepared for my wedding.
On my wedding day, she was at the venue early in the morning, where she prepared my hair and make-up, my flower girl’s hair (as contracted), and even my mom’s hair, which took some stress off my mom. Unexpectedly, Laura gave me a few wedding gifts as well, a lovely and thoughtful surprise.
Laura Westrem Artistry is a great vendor, focussed on quality service, and preparation of the client. I recommend this artist. -

I hired Laura for my wedding to do my hair and makeup for myself and my 3 bridesmaids and couldn’t be more thankful to have found her! She listened intently to all of my ideas and made them come to life! When we arrived on the scene of my outdoor wedding she was already set up with a warm welcome and helped me to relax. The day was going to be a scorcher at 96 degrees and I was worried about what that would do to my hair and makeup. However, Laura was prepared with all the necessary items to ensure that I would look flawless throughout the day. She has such a sweet and caring personality and I trusted her with my entire “look” for my wedding day. Best decision ! Despite the heat I had no issues with hair or makeup the entire day! I had so many complements on both and I thank Laura so much for that. She knew exactly what I needed to complete my look ( hair extensions, lashes) and to also make me look like just a more beautiful, enhanced version of myself. My hubby absolutely loved the look Laura gave me. My bridesmaids were thrilled with their hair and makeup as well . I highly recommend Laura for any hair and makeup services you need ! -

Talented and professional
Laura did a fantastic job the morning of my mom’s wedding. It was a very hot day and she did a fantastic job putting out hair into gorgeous updos that stayed all day! The makeup was also very well done and lasted all night. On top of that she was very nice and professional. I would definitely use her services again!

Laura was absolutely outstanding! After a less than good experience with another make-up and hair artist, Laura absolutely hit a homerun with my wife's hair and make-up! It was perfection. Her hair was gorgeous without looking over the top and make-up was Stellar and didn't look like she was wearing a thick layer of products. It highlighted all the best features (cheekbones, eyes, lashes, etc). The best part was how much Laura truly cared. From the first phone call to the wedding and even following up after, Laura was a true professional and so fun! -

Perfection guaranteed!!!
Laura and her staff were very professional and friendly and very helpful in recommending hair and makeup choices for those of us who have no idea what to do!!! Both of my daughters hired Laura and her staff for their weddings . All of us received the personal attention and kindness from all of the artistry staff!!! Highly recommend her services, very professional and talented at what she does!!! She makes you feel very special!!! She’s the best of the best!!!

Awesome Hair and Makeup
Laura and her team did a great job with the hair and makeup for my wedding day! She listened to what I wanted and 100% delivered on my look. It was super helpful to do the bridal trail experience so I knew exactly what I was getting on the day of the wedding (Photos from trial and wedding day included to show consistency of look). Laura and her team were flexible with scheduling and did a great job of making sure we were ready in time! -

Wedding Day
Laura and her team made my wedding day an absolute DREAM. From the very beginning they did everything to make my BIG group comfortable. I had myself, 7 bridesmaids, a flower girl, and two moms to get ready. Laura was even nice enough to do my grandmas make up and add on my aunt as well, since they saw how much fun we were having the wanted to join in. They had no problem getting us all done in time and even stuck around for a bit to make sure I didn't need any touch up's. She thought of everything and was such a joy to be around. But most of all her talent is out of this world. The make up and hair is exactly how wanted it and even better then I could have imagined. It lasted me all night even though I was crying for a ton. She sent me with some touch up makeup that I barley had to use. I wish I could do it all over again and I wouldn't change a thing :) Thank you for making me and my entire bridal crew into queens!!! -

When I first met Laura I knew I made the right choice. She made me feel welcome right away. I went to her home that has a lovely make up studio. After playing around with a few different looks, Laura helped me find the perfect look for my wedding day. She made me feel like a natural beauty and I can't wait to have Laura recreate it for me on my wedding day. She is was making me laugh the entire time and super awesome to work with. The lashes even lasted me MULTIPLE days! I got them done on a Thursday night and then wore them out for dinner at my bachelorette party on Friday then took them off on Saturday to go tubing :) I would HIGHLY recommend Laura, she was fun to work with and did an amazing / quality job. :) -

Amazing and highly recommend!
Laura and her assistant were absolutely amazing day of! Her attention to detail and catering to the looks desired by the bridesmaid, mother of the bride and me (bride) were outstanding and so very much appreciated. Laura went above and beyond what I ever expected out of a professional hair and make up artist. She is so highly skilled at her art, there are no words to describe her talent. Laura is an artist!!!
I was so happy with how my hair AND makeup turned out for our big day. She did both and did not disappoint! I am definitely one of those girls who has dreamed about being a bride my entire life and she captured the look and feel I wanted perfectly. She has an amazing personality and energy about her. She was so fun and easy to work with. I would definitely recommend her and will book her again for any other event. She has years of experience and is super professional. Laura and her team were wonderful to work with! My bridal party of 5 got ready at the Hewing hotel and Laura and her team were exceptionally organized, punctual and professional. Laura and her team were engaging, conversational and made the morning feel extra special. Beyond that, she and her team were great at listening and delivering each individual bridesmaid's hair and makeup preferences. Needless to say, I would highly recommend her services! 5 stars all around. -

Seriously amazing
Laura is seriously amazing. I was really nervous for my hair and makeup after moving my wedding from New Mexico to MN last minute, and Laura made all of that nervousness go away. She was able to capture exactly what I wanted and then some. She also did my mother and mother in law’s hair and makeup—she delivered 100% with three different looks and comfort levels. She is worth every penny. I could not recommend her more! -

Outstanding!
Laura was an absolute gem from the very beginning. She was extremely flexible with appointments. She was amazing working with me and my mother-in-law for trial runs. The day of wedding all she cared about was how I felt about my “look”. She stayed longer to take some photos and hangout. I highly recommend her and her artists. Great company!! She’s five stars all around! -

I got the trial and full wedding day airbrush and updo. I have naturally curly hair and this is the first time my hair wasnt a total disaster after having it styled. I felt beautiful all day. Laura was amazing and worked with our crazy time schedule that day. -

Jenna Sent on 06/11/2018I am SO HAPPY that I booked Laura Westrem and her team for my wedding!! I found Laura based on her amazing reviews, so it is only fitting that I leave a review of my own. Laura was phenomenal to work with throughout what was really a year long process, starting with an initial consultation in April 2017 all the way through our wedding in June 2018. My (now) husband and I took our engagement photos in September 2017, and based on Laura's suggestion, she did my hair and makeup trial earlier that day. This worked out great, as it meant that I was able to have professional hair and makeup for my engagement photos, which turned out beautifully. I worried at first that having the trial so many months before the wedding might be an issue, but I had no cause for concern as Laura had taken very detailed notes and photos and everything turned out just the way I wanted for the wedding. In the months in between, Laura exchanged countless emails with me as we ironed out the details for the wedding day and was always incredibly kind and patient. I invited 10 women to get their hair and makeup done by Laura and her team in 2 suites at our hotel (the Depot Minneapolis) the morning of the wedding, and Laura organized a crew of 6 artists to come on site and provide all of those services within the allotted window of time, which was a small miracle! I was highly impressed by each of the artists, who not only did a fabulous job on hair and makeup for the ladies, but also made everyone feel comfortable and excited about the day ahead. I also opted to have Laura stay on until after the wedding ceremony, which is one of the BEST decisions I made during my wedding planning. She came with during photos, helping to carry my dress so that it didn't drag through the rain puddles, fixing my hair between shots, reapplying lip color as needed, and then touching up my curls before and after the ceremony. She went so far above and beyond my expectations, I was blown away!! Book her immediately!!

She asked me what type of look I wanted for my wedding-- I wanted to look like a classic, beautiful bride. She definitely achieved the look I was going for. I felt so beautiful all day and evening. Since I live approximately 3 hours away from the twin cities, she fit my trial in the morning of my bachelorette party. That was wonderful of her to be so flexible and accommodating as I was not sure when else I would be able to get to the cities until our wedding week. The day of our wedding she did my hair and makeup as well as my girls hair. Another thing about Laura, she is so KIND and easy to talk to. You will be so happy if you choose to hire her for your big day. -

Bridal makeup and hair
Laura was amazing! She was very positive and collaborative. She was a perfectionist, which is what you hope for in a wedding stylist! If I could do my wedding again, I would absolutely hire Laura all over again! -

Laura did such a good job with my makeup, as well as my mom and bridesmaids! She made sure we had the look we wanted and what looked best on us! I think it was a little over priced and I didn't like that there was a fee for not getting both hair and makeup done by her. Overall, it was very beautiful and nicely done, but a little pricey for what I got.
