My husband and I had the absolute best experience with Laura and Rachel! We are not big picture takers, and they made us feel so comfortable and excited for every shot! They are also extremely efficient. I was shocked by how many amazing photos they got! They also took the time to get to know us and our families. Incredible!

Laura and Rachel helped me make my proposal so special, and I cannot speak more highly of the work they do! I reached out to Laura and Rachel several months before I was planning to propose, only having chosen a date.

From there, they walked me step by step through every piece of the process including picking a location, selecting flower arrangements, selecting a restaurant, finding and scheduling transportation, picking a hotel, and more! Not only that, but they took care of everything on the big day! They decorated every venue impeccably- and they made everything look so easy!

Additionally, the photos were nothing short of perfect. My fiancé and I couldn't be happier with the results. Laura and Rachel helped us make this day one we will both remember forever, and I could never thank them enough for that!

Best Decision of our Wedding!!!

Where do we begin?! Laura and Rachel not only saved our wedding day, but made it truly the most magical experience for us. We had booked Laura and Rachel about a year and a half out before our scheduled wedding date. When an impending hurricane was headed to Charleston for our wedding day, we made a spur of the moment decision to get married the day prior to our schedule date. Laura and Rachel, with only hours notice, made themselves available for our impromptu ceremony and captured the most beautiful photos we ever could have asked for. They calmed us and made us feel so special. We had so much fun with them and can’t thank them enough for their flexibility. We will cherish our photos forever. Laura and Rachel were a dream to work with’

My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Laura and Rachel. The package we chose gave us both engagement and wedding pictures. We had never done a professional photo shoot, so we were a bit nervous, but Laura and Rachel walked us through every shot. Our pictures came out beautifully, so natural and professional looking. Also, to top that off, they were so much fun! We received both our engagement and wedding photos within a few weeks of taking them. They always made sure to send some sneak peeks the first week or so. They were awesome with communication and I can’t say it enough, they were just a dream to work with.

Excellent experience with Laura & Rachel

Working with Laura and Rachel was an amazing experience for my wife and me. They had specific knowledge of the venues that we were holding our church ceremony and reception at, which played a huge role in getting the right light for our pictures. We live in New York, Laura and Rachel are based in Charleston, and we had the wedding in California. Understanding that they knew exactly how to shoot our church and reception gave us so much reassurance that the day will run smoothly in their hands. Nothing felt forced or awkward when it came to taking photos and the final proof confirms it when we look over our pictures. They are confident, professional, and lead the charge when it came to family portraits. Giving them our shot list, which they suggested we do, helped tremendously ahead of time, as it was less items to worry about during your wedding day. They took care of everything and stuck to the script, even suggesting some more in that we didn’t even think of. We would love to work with them again and fully recommend them to any couple planning their wedding. They’re also very funny and had us laughing all day, an additional perk to working with them.

Amazing!! Can't recommend them enough!

We absolutely loved working with Laura and Rachel! From the beginning all the way to receiving our wedding photos they have been so welcoming and upbeat. The best mother daughter duo!!!

Laura and Rachel are the absolute best!!! They make you feel comfortable almost instantly and we love all of our photos from engagement to the wedding! We hired them after our brother and sister in law used them for their wedding and they did not disappoint either time!!! Best wedding photographer!

Laura and Rachel were a joy to work with! I cannot say enough great things about them. From the start of finding Laura and Rachel, they took the time to get to know us and understand our vision for our wedding. Once we hired Laura and Rachel, we were struggling to find some of our other vendors and they recommended a variety of vendors we ended up moving forward with.

Nolan and myself aren't the most comfortable in front of the camera and they went out of their way to put us at ease. We had the most amazing engagement session in Big Sur and then for our wedding in Carmel, Laura and Rachel went above and beyond.

At our wedding, Laura and Rachel showed up on time and kept us calm throughout the day. They fixed boutineers when they weren't sitting properly and even bustled my dress before I entered the cocktail hour. We felt so lucky to work with such amazing photographers. Even after our wedding we weren't expecting to get photos for some time and within 4 days we got sneak peaks, which were to die for!

All I can say is we consider Laura and Rachel more than photographers, we now consider them friends. Anyone would be crazy to not hire them!

Dynamic Mother/Daughter Duo

There is not enough words that I can say about Laura & Rachel. But I'll start with this, they are AMAZING! L&R are the sweetest, most creative team I have ever come across. We hired them for our engagement shoot, which we were very nervous to be in front a lens. Their professionalism, kindness, sweet smiles and laughs made us feel so comfortable and confident which translated to amazing photos. Then we hired them for our wedding photos, and oh my god - they showed up! I had a destination wedding and these two showed up days earlier to scout the area for the best views. The entire photo process they guided me and my husband through feeling and looking our best, but amongst all they made sure we had a ton of fun during the process. I loved the entire process from start to finish with these two. I would do it over and over again, because these two sure know how to capture every bit of love. L&R have officially become part of our family! we can't wait for them to capture our future.

Laura and Rachel absolutely blew us away in every single way!

Laura and Rachel absolutely blew us away in every single way. From the very beginning, the two of them made us feel more like their family than simply clients who were paying them for a service. It took us less than 24 hours after our first meeting with them to know they were who we wanted on our wedding day, and I am SO glad we did. They made us feel totally comfortable in front of the camera and more than that, they made it FUN. We felt special and joyful and so full of love the entire time we worked with them. They made our day flow flawlessly, keeping us on track while still letting us ENJOY the day. They just went above and beyond in every way - whether it be getting down on their knees to help me switch into my reception shoes or running around cocktail hour to find the friend who was in charge of bustling my dress, they did so much more than just take our photos. But those photos… let me tell you, when I first saw our sneak previews, I full on cried. And the full gallery, OH MAN. I don’t know how they managed to perfectly capture every emotion we felt that day while still making us look amazing (my husband and I were definitely ugly crying for a good portion of our first look couples portraits!), but I can’t even put into words what it felt like to look at those photos for the first time. Simply put - we’re obsessed with these two. Laura and Rachel have our business for LIFE. I’m already trying to plan a ten year vow renewal just so we can share the day with them again! (Kidding, but not really ;) ). Take it from me - hiring these two will be the easiest and best decision you will make during your wedding planning process. We love you, Laura and Rachel!!!

Engagement Photos

Laura and Rachel are an amazing duo! I am not from the Charleston area and had little familiarity with the town. I knew that I wanted to propose in Charleston, and that was about it. Laura and Rachel made amazing recommendations for proposal locations and helped create a perfect plan for the big moment. They provided very specific details which helped alleviate any stress I was feeling. After the proposal they made my fiancé and I feel very comfortable during the hour long picture session. We also received the pictures way ahead ahead of schedule, which was not expected! The site is easy to use as well which is nice. Overall an amazing experience and I would 100% recommend working with this mother daughter duo.

Perfect, professional, charming, delightful

With all the energy necessary for planning a wedding, it is extremely special to find people who truly understand your heart and inspirations. I found Laura and Rachel on a preferred list of photographers and like most brides immediately looked at their Instagram. Quickly falling in love with their story as a mother and daughter duo, it was safe to say that I did not need to look any further. My experience from the start has been the most professional, heart-warming, and fun that I could ever ask for. They have amazing talent and truly have made me feel like I am the most beautiful bride there is. Laura and Rachel went above and beyond for our wedding day! It was so perfect and they made it exactly how I imagined. We did an elopement wedding in Charleston, South Carolina. Couldn’t have asked for a better photographer

side from the absolutely stunning photos Laura and Rachel shot, the thing that stood out the most to me was the professionalism and strong communication through the whole wedding planning process. They were prompt and thorough with their emails/phone calls. For me, this was huge as I was planning a wedding basically solo and remotely and needed all the help I could get.

This mother-daughter duo is a two for one deal plus all the other amazing add on bonuses they offer such as an engagement session, wedding day timeline, solid communication, vendor referrals, and even provided a few props for pictures. Another thing that sets them apart from other vendors is that they research the venue before the event. I found out during our first look that Laura and Rachel had traveled to the venue a week prior to the wedding and scoped out places to do the first look and other spots around Wild Dunes. This was never mentioned before the wedding nor had I even imagined they would do this- it is just the type of business they run. They were beyond prepared for my event which helped me enjoy my wedding stress free.

I am beyond happy with the photos and everything else they provided along the way. I knew from the first video chat they’d be a perfect fit. Oh, and I got my photos back within a week!

Amazing Engagement Session

There are not enough words to describe how wonderful Laura and Rachel are but I will try my best.

From working with Ian on the surprise engagement to the actual photo shoot they were a dream come true. As two people who do not like to have their pictures taken they made me and Ian feel extremely comfortable and like we were having a photo shoot with old friends.

The pictures they took were so beautiful I can not stop staring at them.

Laura and Rachel are top notch and professional!

We hired Laura and Rachel to be our wedding photographers and we were just blown away! Their wedding package included an engagement session as well, so we had the pleasure of working with them twice. One of my favorite distinctions with Laura and Rachel is that they come as a duo, no questions asked. My husband and I aren't used to being in front of a camera and they literally walked us through everything to make us (somehow) look like naturals! One was able to help direct while the other shot pictures, and other times they were able to get both close and long shots. They are so professional and engaging, and were almost like my second wedding planners- they helped me craft the day-of timeline around the photos to make sure they had time to get everything we wanted in for the day. Having them with us on the wedding day helped it go so smoothly, and the pictures are more than we could have ever asked for! 5 stars aren't enough.

Engagement photography

Laura and Rachel were so great! They are wonderful people, very personable and friendly. I was so nervous about the whole engagement as I was coming out of state to propose. I did not know the landscape or much about Charleston, South Carolina so I had no idea where to pop the question. Laura and Rachel worked first hand with Jena of “Propose Charleston” planning firm, to work out a custom proposal tailored to me and my now fiancé’s relationship. It could not had been more perfect! It was a perfect proposal, a perfect location, perfect photography, just a perfect day! Laura and Rachel were really professional but also fun and energetic. They made us feel like we were models and all the shots they took came out amazing! They even let us incorporate our own ideas for different angels and poses. I say all that to say I am more than grateful!! 10/10 would recommend them to anyone!!

Flawless, Beautiful Images from two creative photographers

Laura and Rachel are a true joy to work with. From the moment we met them, we felt that we had known them for years. They made taking the photos easy and effortless, and we had a blast creating these new memories along with exploring Charleston along the way. They really take the time to understand the look and feel that you are going for, and gave excellent direction to ensure they captured images we would love. Their eye for detail is impeccable, and the creative element they add to their photos is flawless -- overall they are extremely talented!! The photos we got back were beautifully edited, and returned to us much quicker than expected, we couldn't be happier with them. In addition to the photos they were so kind, personable, quick to respond to any request, and made our outing so much fun. The absolute best!

I used Laura & Rachel Photography for my maternity sessions and was seriously BLOWN away. The photos ended up beautiful (so much so that my dress designer shared one of the finished images on their own page). They allowed my husband and daughter to join in on some photos as well so we got some great family shots as a bonus.
One of my favorite things about the mother/daughter duo is that they prefer to explore new locations for their shoots so your photos will be original and unique to you! They do an incredible job with lighting, making you feel super comfortable, and had a super quick turnaround time on the final product.
Highly, highly recommend! They are the best!

Amazing Experience

I have followed Laura and Rachel for a while and I've dreamed of having my photos taken by these two for as long as I can remember! Amazing dream wedding photographers

I cannot put into words how amazing Laura and Rachel are!!!!! From the moment we sat down with them to chat about our wedding they were so kind, professional, answered all of my annoying questions and from that moment on they have never let us down and they have taken some AMAZING PICTURES OF US!! They were so understanding and professional and SO EASY to work with especially when it came to scheduling our engagement session in the midst of COVID shut downs and then when it came time to reschedule our wedding. They are super responsive and always get back to us in a timely manner. They sent us an amazing bridal guide that helped with planning! They were able to send us our entire gallery of engagement pictures literally a week later. The day of our postponed wedding we did a shoot with them in the morning to remember the day and they had all 158 pictures to us that SAME day by 3 pm to show our friends and family at our backyard wedding. Another amazing thing is that they send you your entire gallery filled with hundreds of images that you can download and do whatever you want with!!!!! My husband and I went through almost a dozen photographers before finding Laura and Rachel and I am so thankful that we did because these pictures turned out better than I could have ever imagined honestly and we will treasure them forever!!!! Neither myself nor my fiance had ever been photographed professionally, so when we did a quick shoot after I proposed, Laura and Rachel's energy and personalities put us both right at ease and really made our magical moment even better. And on top of all that, the photos came out absolutely stunning. They truly are professionals who know what they are doing and were a delight to work with. Would highly recommend them!!!

We loved them, the experience and the results!

My fiancé hired Laura and Rachel to capture our proposal in Charleston, South Carolina and I’m so happy he chose them. Due to a hurricane the previous weekend, my fiancé was unable to meet this mother-daughter pair prior to the day-of, but it made no difference because their sweet, vivacious personalities made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera. After he asked and I said YES, Laura and Rachel talked us through different poses during our engagement photo shoot. My head was still in the clouds and full of excitement and happiness, so I greatly appreciated the direction! A few hours later when they sent us the photos, we were still celebrating with our family and friends and were surprised at how many photos they sent! I love so many of the photos they took that I still have trouble choosing my absolute favorite. They were truly able to capture how we felt in the moment and I could not thank them enough! Amazing Photography team!!

Laura and Rachel Photography are not only amazing photographers that will go out of their way to make sure you feel comfortable and confident during your photo shoot but they also treat you like family.
My husband and I decided to elope while on vacation in Charleston and after finding Laura and Rachel they were a vital part in making this day happen and be magical. Since I wasn’t from Charleston they went out of their way to help me find the perfect venue for our ceremony and photo session Also they had a list of officiants so I had no trouble finding someone last minute. Honestly I couldn’t have done it without these ladies.
On our wedding day they were promptly on time and ready to shoot since we were on a tight 4-6 timeframe they wasted no time making sure we had ample time shooting in each location. My husband and I had never had a photo shoot before and we were both worried the photos might show our apprehension and nerves but once the cameras came out they both had us laughing and gave excellent directions on how to get great natural photos. Once the day was over it was no less than a week before we had our photos back and I can’t believe how amazing they look. The photo editing was perfection and I am so happy that I can look back on our last minute decision to elope with happy memories and beautiful photos to show our family and friends.

Phenomenal Engagement Session

Laura and Rachel are simply amazing! They recently photographed my surprise engagement on the beach in California. Those two have great acting skills too! My fiancé planned it out perfectly with them and they captured the moments better than I could have ever imagined. They truly care about taking incredible photos for you to have memories for the rest of your life. I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone and hope to have them do our wedding too! Dynamic Duo!

Where do I even begin? Laura and Rachel are two of the most kind, dedicated, and talented people I've ever met. Our paths crossed by chance at a bridal runway show and it didn't take longer than a few seconds to see how genuinely passionate they were about their profession in photography or serving their couples.

Since then, we've developed an incredible friendship and my husband and I couldn't be more thankful for them. They've captured a couples portrait session (2016), graduation portraits (2017), my *surprise!* proposal (2017), our engagement (2018), and finally ... our WEDDING (2019)! Every shoot we have had with Laura and Rachel has been incredibly enjoyable and FUN! My husband does not normally enjoy having his pictures taken, but he jumps at every opportunity to be in front of Laura and Rachel's cameras ... simply because they make the experience so wonderful and easy-going.

As if the experience itself isn't reason enough to pick them ... their images are unbeatable! Seeing how detail-oriented they are in person makes complete sense when you have the images in hand. They take every bit of lighting, plants, people, and location in to consideration.

My husband and I truly cherish every photograph they have taken for us, but our wedding was (hands-down) the most incredible of them all. Everyone tells you that your wedding day will fly by, and they're 100% right. I felt like I missed out on some of the details of the day ... until I got our photos back from L & R. Looking through our wedding gallery allowed us to relive each and every moment of the best day of our lives. They captured every ounce of emotion, laughter, tears, smiles... We can't express in words how much it means to have these memories so beautifully preserved for the rest of our lives.

There's absolutely no one else we would trust to capture such significant moments in our life together. Laura and Rachel, thank you for being wonderful people, photographers, and friends. We love you!

Amazing, Talented Photographers!

Working with Laura and Rachel was a true joy! They are incredibly genuine, passionate and amazing at what they do (not to mention, they are so talented at photography)! Photographers play an intimate role in your big day, they are around you at the most precious/monumental moments and Laura and Rachel are the perfect photographers to help make your wedding day extra magical. They make you feel comfortable in front of the camera, capture your love, make you feel valued and celebrate the excitement of your special day with you as if they were your longtime friends.

I was constantly so impressed with their professionalism, organization, helpfulness and responsiveness. They always made me feel like I could reach out to them with a question or run something by them without being a bug. Their responses were always quick, detail oriented and helpful. Because they are so organized and on top of it, I knew photos were something I did not have to worry about leading up to the big day!
Our engagement photos and wedding photos have received so many compliments by family and friends! Every time I look through the photos, I find a new favorite because their photos are so beautiful. I was so impressed with receiving our edited photos back in an exceptionally timely manner (this was also during the time Rachel had a baby and that didn’t stop them from providing extraordinary service).

Let me just start off by sating if you want a genuine, good hearted and fan-flippin-tastic look no further. Laura and Rachel are literally the best mother daughter dynamic duo when if comes to photography, we were referred by another photographer we knew and honestly couldnt be more greatful. My husband and i are picky on what kind of style and effect we wanted for our wedding and engagement photos. My husband and I are OBSESSED with Laura and Rachel. I was so nervous about picking the best photographers for our engagement and wedding and did a ton of research beforehand. When we found Laura and Rachel, their ability to capture scenery, sunsets and light is what drew us in. After our initial call with them, we knew they were the ones!

From our engagement photos 8+ months prior to our wedding, to the wedding day itself, they made us feel so calm and comfortable the entire time. Taking photos can be awkward and not one bit of working with them was awkward at all! They are also just so kind, so sweet and so professional, and you can tell they genuinely care about all their clients. Not to mention our photos turned out INSANE. We still have guests/friends/family raving about our photographers and how "dreamy" our photos turned out!

Laura and Rachel are amazing, the way they captured the engagement is just beautiful and they were so great to work with. My fiancé was in total shock, and you did a great job "shopping" to enhance the surprise. She started crying when she saw the pictures, and we are so very grateful for you.

If you have previously thought this isn’t an expense worth incurring, think again, because I don’t think you will ever have the opportunity to capture raw emotion during such a significant life event ever again.

And you should pick Laura and Rachel to do it for you! They were so helpful in planning, and brought some added touches like our calligraphy champagne bottle and beautiful place settings.

I could not have asked for a better team than Laura and Rachel to photograph my proposal. They were incredibly helpful in the setup of the proposal- I proposed while my fiancée and I were on vacation, so I was not very familiar with the area. I reached out to them before the vacation and they helped with finding the best location overlooking the ocean, setting up the area with a picnic, figuring out the timing of the day. Everything that would otherwise make the plan difficult, they made super easy. They even went the extra mile and had ice cream sundaes waiting for us on the beach after the proposal, somehow keeping it from melting while they waited for us, because they knew that it was my fiancée’s favorite dessert. You can’t get much better treatment than that. And aside from all that help with the planning and setup, they also took incredible pictures. They not only captured the moment of the proposal, but they also captured dozens of awesome shots of us on the beach afterward. They turned out so great that we don’t need an engagement photo shoot, because we have all the pictures we need with the added bonus that they happened right after the moment of the proposal. I cannot recommend Laura and Rachel highly enough.

We cannot recommend Laura and Rachel enough! In our opinion, booking a wedding photographer can be one of the most difficult and important parts of planning a wedding. From our initial meeting with Laura and Rachel, they immediately put us at ease with their calm demeanor. We also knew right away that these ladies were true professionals and that they would make the entire experience FUN! Their bubbly personalities are infectious, and they were a constant reminder that wedding planning doesn't have to be stressful…it should be an enjoyable and exciting experience! I loved seeing their names pop up in my inbox because I knew it contained a sweet and personable message. Regarding our engagement photos, they happily accommodated my request for multiple outfit changes and photo locations. It was our first time having professional photos taken and they made us feel comfortable, gave us great direction, and made the day effortless! In the months leading up to our wedding day, we worked together on the day-of timeline, and they made certain everything was perfect and dialed in for the big day! On our wedding day, they were our source of calm amongst the chaos! They arrived early to where I was getting ready with my bridesmaids, and took all the shots that were so important to me - the details photos, popping champagne with my girls, first look with my father, my mother zipping up my dress, etc! They went above and beyond throughout the entire day to make sure we were happy, fed (they even served us our hors d’oeuvres during the cocktail reception!), and that they got all the shots we had wanted to capture! Their style is what wedding dreams are made of! Their photos are overflowing with beautiful natural light, relaxed and not forced poses, and most importantly they so beautifully capture the love between the couple. Throughout the entire process, Laura and Rachel made us feel more like life-long friends instead of clients and that kind of business model goes a long way!

My wife, Janice and I recently were married on August 2017 in Pebble Beach, California. Our photographers for the wedding, as well as for our engagement photos, were Laura Hernandez and her daughter, Rachel Bench. Laura and Rachel are genuine, kind, friendly and caring individuals. Laura and Rachel took the time to get to know us, to understand our story, our journey of how we got to be where we were at the time – engaged and about to be married. We appreciated that about them. We were not treated as mere clients, but made to feel like a part of their family. We did engagement photos in Carmel Valley, CA and Pebble Beach, CA. The sessions were so fun. Both Laura and Rachel made us feel at ease in front of the camera. They work together in military precision capturing all the angles, shades, colors, depth, contrasts, emotions and nuances that make for superior pictures. And that is what we received in the final product, professional, superior and not to mention beautiful, pictures. On the actual day of the wedding, Laura and Rachel were phenomena and outstanding in every sense of the word. They worked in total coordination with our wedding planner and the venue planner. Starting this review was really difficult for me because I wanted to make sure I accurately emphasized how LUCKY we felt to have found Laura and Rachel. I had initially reached out to them with a super generic, not very personable 'email' generated by weddingwire.com. Laura replied with such excitement and gratitude for us having reached out to them. We quickly set up a Skype meeting and as soon as we hung up, I turned to my husband and said "Okay, I'm done searching; Laura and Rachel are adorable and perfect", and my opinion has only grown greater!

Laura and Rachel were with us every step of the way; they go far above and beyond their photographer 'duties'! We often reached out to them with questions and for suggestions and they were always excited and eager to help throughout the process. When we finally met for our engagement photos, it felt like we had already known each other for far longer than a few months and email exchanges!

The day of the wedding, they were AMAZING! They carried cough drops and waters for my sick husband and myself, helped make sure we ate, had drinks for our toast, my dress was cleaned, and perfectly managed my unique family dynamics. The list of things they did to help make the day easier is endless.

I could go on forever, but my bottom line message to couples looking their wedding photographer is LOOK NO FURTHER.

As a MOB, I just want to share my experience with Laura and Rachel, wedding photographers extraordinaire! All you need to do is to look at their website to see the exquisite pictures they take and how good they are at capturing the love, excitement and emotion of the moment. They are so very experienced at making everyone feel comfortable in front of the camera. They pay attention to the smallest details about how people are placed, how they stand and how they hold their bouquets, but they don’t make you feel like you’re posing. They get the little kids to smile and snap their pictures at just the right time. They frame the pictures to take advantage of the surroundings and have an artistic eye and know what will make an exquisite photograph. A good example is how they handled the gale force winds that we had on the day of the wedding. They had the groom with his back to the wind and the bride facing into the wind and it blew her chapel length veil beautifully behind her and the photo was breathtaking! They really paid attention to the photos that were important to the bride and groom and made sure they included all those people and events. They were such a joy to work with and we are so delighted with the pictures. I have so many favorites that I want them all! Looking at the pictures brought back all the joyful emotions of the day and it was so beautifully captured in their photographs. Once you meet them and share your vision about what you want and see the work they have done, you will want to have them memorialize your wedding day. I can highly recommend them without any reservations! You will not be disappointed!

Where do I even begin with Laura and Rachel?! I think for us living miles away in Seattle looking for an engagement photo session, it was love at first Skype with this mother-daughter photog team. Laura and Rachel are true professionals! As a bride who was planning my wedding from across the country, I found Laura and Rachel via Instagram. I loved their style of portraits, the way they shot details and I felt their enthusiasm and passion through their photos. When I met them in person for engagement pictures I felt that they were long time friends!! They are extremely familiar with the Monterey area which helped a ton as I had a hard time choosing a spot for our engagement session. Laura is extremely responsive via email/text/phone, which is SO helpful for a bride who is planning. Neither of them showed a sweat and were extremely flexible with both the engagement session AND our wedding. They provide great ideas regarding outfits, details, and timeline for both the engagement session and the wedding day. If you do not have a coordinator they have a great timeline that I’m sure has helped many brides. They brought their enthusiasm to our wedding day and I was BEYOND anxious to receive our photos. Of course, they delivered! My only suggestion for any bride is to be very specific with who you would like to get pictures with throughout the day, IE if you would like candid or specific pictures with guests during the reception let them know. They will get it all and do a great job of reminding you (while not being in the way!!), but if you don’t specify then they wont know what is important to you. The pictures will forever tell our story and even two months after our wedding I still look through them each day! Our pictures are stunning and we are beyond happy!! I cant recommend Laura and Rachel enough!!!!!

Laura and Rachel were the best wedding photographers we could have asked for. From day one they were responsive, professional and helpful. From engagement photos to the big day, they made the experience completely comfortable and really helped us feel less awkward in front of the camera. They helped us create the ideal timeline for our wedding and ensured that we got all the images we dreamed up and then some. I really feel like they have become friends and went above and beyond to ensure that we had a great experience - and AMAZING photos to look back on. They are simply the best.

The pictures were perfect! From the bottom of our hearts we cannot thank them enough for everything. Between giving me a timeline to work with, answering all my questions, our engagement picture shoot and how much ease they navigated every picture on the day of our wedding, we were so lucky to find them! Picking a photographer is such a big task of wedding planning and from the moment we met them we knew that working with them would work with such ease. The day goes by so quick and I am so happy that we had Laura and Rachel to capture every moment for us. Laura and Rachel were outstanding to work with. They are both so incredibly sweet and kind with the perfect amount of professionalism and organization to make the day go off without a hitch. They both were able to capture this beautiful day for us without making us feel like we were missing out on our own wedding! They were both calm and efficient. They have a great sense of what will make a great photo in the most perfect lighting. We live out of state and were not able to make an engagement session work so they were flexible in letting us do a "day after" shoot on the beach! It was the most perfect conclusion to an already epic wedding weekend. They have given a couple sneak previews and they already look amazing! I can't wait to get the whole collection. They really did capture the beauty of the day and I couldn't thank them enough for making the day a great success! I would recommend them to anyone for who they are and also the great addition they are to their craft and industry. Thank you so much Laura and Rachel - you were amazing!

My husband and I were fortunate enough to get our wedding photos taken by Laura and her LOVELY daughter, Rachel on 10/30.
We had an elopement so Laura and Rachel were our witnesses!
They were both joys to be around and work with.
Laura was very instructive and they were both so professional and friendly!
My (now) husband and I are both exTREmely uncomfortable being in front of the camera, but Laura really made it easy and fun. Rachel also have a very artistic eye.
Even though I only saw 1 of our photos on Instagram, it was lovely.
I can't wait to see the rest.
Thanks Laura and Rachel for giving us a wonderful experience =D

Where do I even begin with Laura and Rachel? Their photos truly speak for themselves. I am beyond thrilled that my now husband hired them to capture his surprise proposal. Little did we know at the time that we would be so in love with their work that we would go on to hire them to do our engagement photos and shoot our wedding! And become friends along the way : ) They not only have incredible photography skills, but they truly care about their clients. Having a nack for making you feel comfortable in front of the camera really comes through in their finished product. They did so much for my husband and I beyond just taking our photos. We were touched by their generosity and kind nature. Laura and Rachel even helped to bustle my dress after the bustle broke and kept my flats for me to change into after I needed to change out of my heels. Wedding experts!

All of our photos came out beautifully! We even used some of the proposal and engagement photos to create our guestbook for the wedding. When we came back from our honeymoon my husband and I were a little blue about the whole thing being over but were pleasantly surprised with an email from Laura with our wedding photos. They turned out beautifully! Her and Rachel went beyond our expectations...again! I don't know how we are going to choose our favorites. These photos will be so special to have for years to come. You will not be disappointed if you choose Laura Hernandez Photography for your special day!

Laura and Rachel very well may be two of the nicest and most genuine people I have ever met. The fact they are a mother and daughter team just makes working with them that much more amazing. They really care about their clients, and made us feel so special throughout the whole process. One of the best decisions I made was choosing Laura Hernandez Photography to capture our wedding day. I was nervous to do our engagement session but Laura and Rachel put us to ease right away. Laura and Rachel are an AMAZING mother-daughter photography team. I had the pleasure of meeting them when they photographed my sister's wedding at Corral de Tierra Country Club in April. By the end of the night, they were like part of the family! They made us feel so comfortable and are ubelievably talented. Shortly after my sister's wedding I asked Laura Herndandez Photography to be on the preferred vendors list for my work (Talbott Vineyards). Together we created the dream wedding shoot and they PERFECTLY captured our image. Choosing a photographer was one of the most difficult parts of our wedding planning as it was so important to me and something that we prioritized. After months of researching, I came upon Laura's work and I knew - their work looked like what my dream wedding would be and I was beyond thrilled when they were available for our date. They ended up being the best decision we made for our wedding!

Laura and Rachel were the most amazing photographers we could have ever hoped to have at our wedding! The best of the best in every way. From the very first time we contacted them to our entire wedding day and after, they have been the most professional, talented, warm and welcoming people you could ever work with. The entire process leading up to our wedding they were kind and accommodating, they checked in throughout the year, and were so organized and on point with the planning and preparation, we never once worried for a second. A mother and daughter team who work ridiculously well together, they made our wedding day what we always dreamed it would be. From the detail shots, to our wedding party and husband and wife portraits, they gave us the most gorgeous, romantic and joyful wedding photos and memories we could have asked for. They captured everything we wanted them to, and so many more moments and details that we weren't able to experience. In just a couple of weeks they had sent us our portraits and we couldn't believe it!

Beyond their amazing professional work, you couldn't ask for two more genuinely kind and lovely people to work with. They have a way of putting everyone at ease and everyone at our wedding mentioned how great they were.

They were not just our photographers at our wedding, they felt more like friends and guests. I feel so lucky to have had them as our wedding photographers, and will always be grateful to them for giving us such amazing photos and memories.

Laura and her daughter, Rachel, did an amazing job on our engagement photos. We are a military couple and I found her through Wedding Wire. I'm so glad that I did, our pictures came out amazing. She asked what type of background we wanted and she found a perfect place right on the cliffs near the ocean in Big Sur. The wind was crazy but she worked with us and got great pictures in between my hair blowing everywhere. We got our photos faster than expected too!!

During the shoot we both felt super comfortable with her and her daughter shooting us. She gave us so much direction and ideas for poses.

My only regret is that I didn't find them before I booked my wedding photographer for our out of state wedding. I would've loved for them to cover our wedding as well.

Highly recommended to people looking for great photos, especially outdoors!

I was so happy with our photos I also contacted them to do my bridal photo shoot before the wedding as well when my wedding photographer wasn't available the weekend I needed. Although it's more of a Southern tradition and other photographers in the area didn't even know what I was talking about Laura did. The bridal shoot was this past weekend and went so well, I can't wait to see the results. She also helped by recommending a hairstylist, makeup artist, and florist for the bridal pictures.

Lastly, I am so busy and at work can only be contacted by email and Laura worked so well with me and basically allowed me to use email for most of the communication, which was very convenient for me.

Laura was referred to me by a florist friend of mine. We emailed and spoke on the phone and only met the day of our celebration. She and Rachel were really great! You were not aware of them, but when we received the proofs they had captured everything ~ the family, friends, setting and the ambience! (if "ambience" is something you can capture in photography; they did!!)
AND... two weeks to the day we had the proofs!!
I will use them for any further events and recommend them enthusiastically to my friends!

After a long hike in Big Sur my now fiancé, Matt, took me out to a beautiful lookout point along Highway 1 on our way back to Monterey. Little did I know he had something planned besides looking at the scenery! He got down on one knee and totally surprised me with a marriage proposal (and gorgeous ring). After the "yes!" from me, he turned around and waved at the photographer, Laura, who I thought had been taking pictures of the coast the whole time. Laura was there capturing that once in a lifetime moment. Matt and I are so lucky that we are going to have those pictures years from now. It is such a special memory and I'm so happy Matt chose Laura to capture it! She did an amazing job and was genuinely happy and very excited for us. I asked Laura to capture my surprise proposal to my girlfriend on the coast of Big Sur, and she was awesome! The pictures were perfect, but what set her apart was how passionate, excited, and helpful she was. On the day before the proposal, she went to the spot where I told her I would propose, ON HER OWN TIME, to scope it out for me. She got there to find that the trail I had previously used to get there was closed for construction. She then took the time to find another spot in the same area, that was even better, and call me with the details. The moment was captured perfectly, exactly what I wanted. No way it would have worked out that way without her extra effort.

Laura was absolutely amazing! She was great to work with and was always very responsive and offered very good advice when I had questions regarding locations for our shoot. On the day of the wedding she was extremely professional and very helpful when we had some issues with our ceremony spot. With the help of her daughter, she moved around furniture to make our spot just right. She certainly did not have to do this but took it upon herself to assist us. Laura Hernandez and Rachel were a pleasure to work with. They are both talented photographers and my experience with them was well worth it. Laura and Rachel photographed my wedding ceremony on Carmel Beach in October 2013. It was a last minute ceremony and Laura was extremely communicable, which was such a relief as we all know weddings can be a bit chaotic. I had some last minute changes and she was very flexible and happy to accommodate. In fact, I don't believe at any point during the process (pre and during the wedding) did she say she couldn't do something. She was also on time and handles her business in a very professional manner. Though, I think her personality (along with her BEAUTIFUL photographs) is what really left a mark for me. If you are anything like me, camera shy, don't worry: She knows how to bring the best out of someone in front of the camera- then capture it!
My husband and family also really enjoyed working with Laura and Rachel. My mother even took of a photo of them because they felt like a part of our intimate ceremony. I would definitely recommend going with Laura Hernandez for a photography session. Her price is such a great value for the quality of work she produces and her professionalism.

To say Laura is talented at what she does is an understatement. She is truly amazing. We were doing a shoot for my son's first birthday - he missed his nap time that day and was a nightmare yet she still managed to capture a ton of amazing shots and was extremely patient and kind. She's very good w kids and had Mason happy in no time, you'd never know he had missed his nap! She's the only photographer I will ever use. She's simply the best and you will not be disappointed.

My husband and I decided to elope at the last minute but still wanted to capture pictures of us in our wedding gear. I loved Laura's style of photos and she was the first photographer we contacted. Laura and her daughter did a great job capturing our wedding. They were very flexible with time and meshed well with all the personalities. We were able to get all the different shots we were wanting, as well as the couples that were a part of our wedding party. Every time i looked iver and saw my kids being adorable ( like they always are;) her daughter was already capturing the moment. I cant wait to see them! All of this not to mention you get all of your pictures! This is going to be a huge savings for us and all of the family that wants prints.

Laura helped plan a very memorable engagement for me and my girlfriend. We live in Dallas, TX and were coming through Monterey on our way to Newport Beach. Laura helped me with every detail from location and time and also put together a very elegant dinner on the beach for our engagement. It was amazing and we couldn't have been happier with the evening. On top of organizing the beach dinner she and her staff photographed the entire event so that we will always be able to remember and share that moment with friends and family. We wanted a vintage style shoot and we were blown away by Laura's creativity. Not only did she know a great location to shoot our pictures, but she set up the entire scene for us! We loved our vintage table, props, and dessert! She is so sweet and friendly. We felt very comfortable with her. I highly recommend Laura future brides!

Working with Laura for our wedding was amazing! She responded quickly to my emails. She was fun and easy to work with. Her vision for things is awesome. She did our engagement and wedding photos. Laura Hernandez did any amazing job shooting my wedding ceremony and reception. There were so many fun shots and candid moments that will give me memories of my event forever. She showed so much professionalism yet remains so personable. She was always aware of things we needed or asked from her including different shots we wanted as well as the ones she had planned. Her talent shows in her photography and I definitely would use her as a photographer for any event in the future as well as recommend her to others. Her friendly manner, creative side, and sweet heart definitely make for a great experience when using Laura Hernandez as your photographer!

California + Coastal Carolinas Dream Team

Laura and Rachel were recommended to us by two of our very best friends who got married five years before us. They raved about the mother/daughter duo that they had found and had captured their wedding day perfectly. The proof was absolutely in their work but since we had decided to get married on the east coast instead of in Northern California where we live and where they are based, we didn't think this was an option for us. Just our luck, as we start planning our wedding in Fall 2018, we come to find that Laura and Rachel are moving to Charleston, SC. It was pretty much meant to be.

I'm not a natural at taking photos and often find myself extremely uncomfortable in front of the camera (said no one ever). Thankfully my husband is a ham and super photogenic and helps to balance us out. However, that wasn't even an issue for our engagement shoot or our wedding photos because Laura and Rachel made us feel comfortable and gave us specific instructions on how to take the most beautiful and natural looking photos. The proof is in their work.

We had a team of super stars for our wedding day but one of the MVPs has to go out to Laura and Rachel. We cannot thank you enough and appreciate you allowing us to relive this day through your photos whenever we want. Thank you!

Over all, I am very happy with her services. I found her customer service skills to be a little rushed but I am sure she just wanted to make sure to capture as many puctures as posible. I don't like posing for pictures, so I was hoping for a more natural "organic" feel the day of my wedding. But the puctures are amazing, we look like we can be in a magazine lol, sometime I have to take a second look to make sure it is me. Our pictures came out beautiful and we have so many if them that we don't need to see the video to relieve the whole day.

Great gals to definitely have around on your special day! They are on time, friendly and professional :) Laura Hernandez is a sweetheart and I love her style photography. I was really picky when it came to booking our photography services because of bad past experience, but after seeing the website and our first meeting with Laura, we booked them and didn't regret it!
