Colleen was the BEST wedding coordinator to work with!!! She was so sweet, professional and was always fast to respond to me!! She was the absolute best & nicest to work with!! Colleen is the best!
We initially chose Lani Kai because of the price compared to the other beach venues in the area. It is a very affordable venue and the pictures looked beautiful. We were planning on staying at an Airbnb in Cape Coral and having the dinner/reception at a nearby restaurant so all we needed was the ceremony venue and Lani Kai was the perfect pick. We did not expect to get our very own wedding planner through Colleen however! She was beyond helpful and very responsive, doing whatever it took to make sure our wedding was perfect. She kept us updated during the hurricane season and renovations and because of her our wedding was literally perfect. We live in Iowa so you can imagine the stress involved with trying to plan a wedding 1400 miles away. If you are looking for a beach wedding venue for a great price and with a professional venue manager Lani Kai is the place! -

Colleen was amazing through the whole process. Since there was no rooms or restaurants ready becasue of Ian, we had to get a permit to have a tent on the beach. We went through a lot of hopps to get it approved and once we did it all came together to be a perfect day. The whole Lani Kai family and crew made our day truly beautiful. We are forever grateful for the love we were shown. Would recommend Colleen and crew for any wedding or party. They make it exactly what you want. -

Colleen and Diane were very helpful throughout the entire process. I lost my mom 2 months before the wedding and I felt totally lost, Colleen made sure I didn't miss a beat and stepped in to make sure I was not forgetting anything. They provided me with an excellent vendor list and I would highly recommend getting your cake from Publix as it was absolutely delicious. The photographer Chris Kovaz took some amazing photos and DJ Keith was super sweet and very accommodating to my guest song requests. We went with the Hawaiian food option and the food did not disappoint! Our guests raved about the food, very delicious. For us and all of our guests this was a destination wedding and we booked site unseen, we took the chance and it paid off. Overall it was very affordable, our guest loved the atmosphere, the view and the food. We're happy with how everything turned out. Thank you Colleen & Diane for all your help and for making our day a memorable one. -

Amazing Experience
We met Colleen when we stayed at the Lani Kai and it was such a blessing. She made us so comfortable and excited to plan our wedding with her. She made the planning process so smooth and the wedding went off without a hitch! She took some amazing photos and the decor was absolutely beautiful. I would recommend having Colleen and her mom plan your wedding because you won’t find anyone better. She feels like family!

The Wedding We Wanted
When we went about planning our destination wedding we knew we wanted it simple, casual and hassle free. Colleen helped with every part of it. All the way from Minnesota we let Colleen know what we wanted and she made it a great experience. We highly recommend Lani Kai Resort for any wedding. -

I don’t know if I can truly put into words how amazing our wedding was. Colleen is by far the most amazing wedding planner you could ever have! She is with you through every step she makes it completely stress free, I was able to enjoy the whole process and the entire day. I highly recommend having your beach wedding and ceremony at Lani Kai and having your guests able to stay right there and not having to worry about driving from one place to another! The staff through the whole location was amazing. Now let me tell you about the food! We had the Hawaiian luau buffet and all of my guests raved on how the taste was so delicious! It was by far the best wedding food. Again if you are looking for a tropical wedding look no further than here at Lani Kai Island Resort -

The Lani Kai wedding coordinators and staff were absolutely amazing. Colleen and her mother Diane were so sweet, helpful, understanding, and very professional. Any questions I had were responded too right away. They went above and beyond. They were very helpful I’m from Ohio and they pointed me in the direction for my cake and dj and any other questions I had. The staff was so sweet they listened to the vision I had for the reception and moved tables to fit my needs without any hesitation. The food was absolutely delicious, everyone raved about the Hawaiian style buffet. Definitely was everything I wanted and visioned for our wedding. Thank you Lani Kai staff xoxoxo you will not be disappointed future brides !!!! -

If you want all the pieces of your wedding celebration to fall beautifully together, go to the Lani Kai and ask for Wedding and Event Coordinator Colleen Otto. Colleen will communicate with you throughout the process and think of all the things you’ve forgotten or didn’t even know you needed. Our reception in the Sabal Palm room had an ocean view with a beautiful sunset, a private patio, delicious food, and a lovely built-in bar with a friendly bartender! My family wanted a picture-perfect reception for my niece’s wedding, and we got it at the Lani Kai for an affordable price. The smile on my niece’s face said it all. Hats off to Colleen colleagues!

Amazing Wedding Services
We had an amazing time traveling down to Florida for our wedding. Colleen and her mom helped make the day as amazing as possible and exactly how we wanted it to be. We didn’t have to do much as they gave us a list of vendors for anything we could possibly need and all we’re amazing as well. Pictures don’t do it justice for how amazing our day was. They set up and tore down, created the center pieces and even decorated the arc to match the colors we chose. -

Imperfectly Perfect!!!
We had our wedding at the Lani Kai. Let me tell you... Colleen and Diane are the absolute best!!! From start to finish they were so very attentive to all of our wants and needs and tried their very best to accommodate everything we suggested.
Although some things were out of their control (weather😭)They still made every attempt to try to wait it out til the very end hoping that the rain would take a break. Sadly, it did not and we were forced to have our ceremony inside. They still made everything so special and beautiful. They even decorated an alternate arch that me and my soon to be husband could stand under. For that I will always be grateful and appreciative to these two beautiful women!! Everyone needs a Colleen and Diane to help coordinate their wedding!!! -

Very nice and responded pretty quick. They sent their prices for wedding. Their packages were confusing. It seemed like every part of the wedding and reception was a price, they didn’t have a package deal. -

AWESOME FOOD, try the Soy Ginger Tilapia. The Chef is really nice and helpful.
It's not a resort, but it's a nice 80's esque hotel.
Great prices.
They're good about refunds.
Cons:
I read every review; the recurring thing was the fact that they can't keep a wedding planner. Against my better judgment I decided to proceed anyway. One of the biggest regrets I could have made as a long distance bride. 69 days before my wedding, the planner quit without a word. Not only did she quit and not say anything; the hotel neglected to inform me. I only realized she no longer worked there when she failed to return any of my emails; I had to contact them via Facebook because no one ever returned my fiance's phone calls.
Finally, I got in contact with Derek, a supervisor from the hotel. He assured me, he would be taking care of everything from here on out and that my day would go over without a hitch. As soon as we got off the phone, I shot him an email of things I was working on with the previous event planner as we discussed. I never received a confirmation of receipt, I followed up that email with an additional email asking for confirmation and still nothing. I called several times and each time there was a different excuse as to why Derek could not be reached. Either he wasn't there, he was busy, he was on the phone, and everything else.
Now T- 59 days, not being able to contact someone who is supposed to be planning the biggest day of your life is beyond frustrating. I again contacted the hotel via Facebook which seemed to be the only way I could get a response and I was promised I would have answers by the next morning. By noon the next day I was no better off than the previous day. At that point I cancelled everything I just wanted my money back. Of course when I asked for a refund, Derek responds to my email saying my emails went to his SPAM. Yea sure Derek.
Long story short, they suck at communication. Brides, you don't need this type of stress. -

ZERO STARS!!! This place was terrible! I had my wedding here and the wedding planner wouldn’t respond to my emails or calls until I arrived 2 days before my wedding. The hotel room sucked the ac didn’t work because the batteries were out our balcony door is broken all the knobs on the dressers are broke and hardly any water comes out of the shower. Lastly they charged my card numerous times during my trip and couldn’t explain why. They were supposed to provide limousine service for us but didn’t because it was in the shop but still charged us for it! They charged one person in my group $700 on there care accidentally. I would never stay here again or suggest it for anyone else. If you come to the bar here use cash only cause they don’t know how to use there credit card machines. -

We booked our wedding with them almost a year in advance and when we did the event planners were great. They answered my emails and calls quickly and had great prices. I secured the venue in December and my wedding was the following October. The event planners left in July and I was not informed. I only found out because I emailed them in late August with a few questions and didn't hear back so I called a few days later and was told they were both on family leave and no one knew when they'd be back so their assistant was filling in. She seemed nice but didn't know any details of my wedding or how the payment process worked and the people "helping" her made it worse. Than about 4 weeks before my wedding they called with a "problem" they lied and said they had just found out about boat races that were being held on the beach the same day as my wedding and could I move my wedding to a different day? This was a destination wedding for me and all of my guests were from out of town so 4 weeks was not enough to reschedule everything. My sister looked up the boat races and found that they had actually been scheduled since March and the Lani Kai blatantly lied about when it was scheduled and when they found out. It was a terrible experience. They actually said to me "I could have the wedding but they couldn't guarantee that people wouldn't be running through it." We had to cancel with them and basically replan the entire wedding in less than 4 weeks.
They were terrible. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
But they're house DJ still did our wedding and he was AMAZING! DJ G RIDE he has his owns business so look him up if you need a DJ.
