Perfect Location, Beautiful Property, THE KINDEST/SWEETEST OWNER! -- #COVID19Wedding

We cannot say enough great things about La Cour Venue. First, the property was breathtakingly beautiful. It had everything we wanted: an outdoor ceremony area that leads to a wide wooden arch surrounded by trees, a courtyard that astonishes you with brick walls and string lights, and a dining hall with a high ceiling, more brick walls, and dark wooden farm tables. Their wedding package strikes the right balance between all-inclusive and DIY. We loved that we didn't have to rent tables and chairs but at the same time have the flexibility to hire our own caterers and bring our own cake. We also loved that you have the option of having your ceremony and/or reception either indoor or outdoor.

Perhaps even more deserving of praises than the venue itself was its owner, Amy Teague. From the moment we had our first meeting to the lockdown announcement due to COVID-19 and finally our wedding day, Amy was professional and accommodating. She is one of the sweetest and kindest people I have ever met. From the beginning, you get the sense that she thoroughly understands the “business” aspect of weddings, but more importantly, you can tell that her heart is in bringing dream weddings to life. She genuinely cares about all her brides and does what she can to lessen the load for them. When the pandemic hit, Amy responded to all my messages promptly and even helped me and my now-husband process everything as realistically as possible. She even suggested that we reserved an “emergency date” – with NO extra fees – should the wedding ban not be lifted by our date, which was May 29th. The day before Governor Abbott lifted the ban, I, my sister, my day-of coordinator, and Amy met at the venue for final planning and to develop a contingency plan. We talked about cutting down our guest list, establishing social distancing guidelines for attendees, and other issues that may come up in case the governor did lift the restrictions. When the governor allowed weddings the following day, we were practically ready to go.

While we hired our own photographer, we ended up hiring two of La Cour’s preferred vendors: Blue Mesa Grill and HD Liquid Catering. We did not hire a DJ, since our wedding was small, and we really wanted to create a more DIY and intimate feel. Though not required, I highly recommend choosing some of La Cour’s preferred vendors for easier and “almost” stress-free planning: (1) they will have already worked at the venue and thus will be familiar with its policies; (2) La Cour will already have their insurance on file; and (3) you can guarantee they have great reviews and will do an excellent job at your wedding. Because these vendors had great relationships with La Cour, wedding planning during the pandemic became a lot more bearable. We truly felt blessed in the process.

La Cour is best suited for smaller and more intimate weddings. The indoor reception hall fits 130 people, while the outdoor ceremony field fits 150. Our original party had 80 people, so it was perfect for our needs. In the end, we had about 35-40 people in the property. La Cour had a security officer and a venue manager for us on the day of the event; this was included in the package. Location was also a plus: far enough from all the city noise (it is surrounded by farms) yet less than a 10-minute drive from downtown McKinney, hotels, and restaurants.

If this is the kind of wedding you have envisioned, then please consider La Cour Venue. Visit the property; you will not regret it!

Gorgeous Venue!

I’m just now getting time to write this review. We had our wedding a few months back in autumn of 2021 and we loved having our wedding at La Cour. The space is so beautiful and unique. We had a brunch wedding and had both our ceremony and reception outdoors. The combination of being in the countryside with the trees swaying back and forth, the birds chirping, the musicians singing, and the wonderful vendors who provided a full espresso bar and brunch buffet really set the relaxing vibe that we really wanted for our wedding. Everyone was so nice and tried really hard to make everything feel seamless. Amy’s husband was there on the day of and helped our coordinator with setting up. And Amy was so great with adjusting our rental time to be earlier in the day to make our vision happen. Another great thing is that the venue has a lot of rentals included that are of no additional cost, including the tables and chairs. I also really enjoyed their list of recommended vendors, especially our espresso bar! People loved going there when they first arrived to order a latte or cappuccino. Another thing to mention is that Amy was so great with responding back to you within 24 hours or less. I can’t say that with all vendors I’ve contacted, and I’m sure if you’ve already started wedding planning you would know what I mean, but I never had to worry about La Cour because they were always very responsive.

The BEST wedding location

I could not recommend La Cour Venue enough. Last minute, we decided to book a venue for our "small" Covid wedding. As more people were vaccinated, our guest count grew, and La Cour was always there to accommodate our many last minute changes.
The venue itself is such a beautiful, charming, and picturesque area to have a wedding. All of the areas provided unique photo ops for our many events!
Amy and the rest of her team are so incredibly professional, caring, and responsive! It was exciting for us to host our wedding with La Cour Venue and see the staff just as happy for us. We cannot thank them enough for all the accommodations and good wishes!

The Best Venue!

La Cour is a dream venue that I can’t recommend enough to anyone that will listen! This was the one and only venue we toured and immediately fell in love with this amazing and unique venue. There are a hundred different things that I loved about La Cour, but I’ll spare you the essay and only highlight the big ones. First and most important - the actual venue! The space is so well thought out - there are three different ceremony locations and lots of mingling space for your guests. We chose the Courtyard for our ceremony after falling in love with the modern and romantic feel of the area. So many of our guests told us how incredible the venue was and how much they loved it. Several straight up said it was the best venue in Dallas that they had been to (which I definitely agree with)! There’s also a variety of different gorgeous locations to take wedding pictures at which is something our photographer raved about. The handmade chairs, tables, and other decor items are absolutely stunning and are so very perfect for the venue. An added bonus - you don’t need linens for the tables! There is also an extensive list of additional items available to use that will not only add the perfect touches to your wedding, but will save you a ton of money as well! Amy and her team are the absolute best and were so easy to work with. With all the changes we had to make due to the pandemic they made everything seamless and were insanely accommodating. We also hired several of the recommended vendors, which made wedding planning wonderfully stress free (outside of COVID). We didn’t have the wedding we originally planned due to the pandemic, but it was the best day we could have ever imagined due in large part to Amy and La Cour!

BEST way to celebrate my son's graduation!

I know this isn't a review of a wedding, but the venue is absolutely exceptional, so please consider La Cour for any type of event you're looking for!
We celebrated my son's graduation party with our closest friends and extended family at La Cour, and simply couldn't have had a better time. Amy was absolutely wonderful to work with! During our planning meeting, Amy offered several setup suggestions for seating for our special kind of event, so of course the one she recommended worked out great. When we arrived, the tables, lights and atmosphere truly exceeded our expectations! Amy took it upon herself to add several ourdoor games for the younger kids to play together, for no additional charge. It was this kind unexpected touch of class and graciousness you get when working with Amy that really blew us away. We also chose to utilize one of her suggested vendors for an easy fajita meal, and the quality, service and taste were exceptional. Amy and her staff were on site throughout the party, her attention to detail were second to none. She made every possible effort to be sure that nothing would impact my son's celebration in any way. I just cannot say enough good things about Amy and La Cour. Every part of the layout of the building and grounds have been thought through so carefully that she is able to ensure that events of all kinds, and their guests, are comfortable and accomodated flawlessly. One thing I really appreciated is that she asked us what kinds of tables and chairs we'd like to use, for no additional charge. I have already booked my second son's graduation party for 2022, and cannot wait to refer my friends and family to use her venue! Your event will be absolutely amazing if you use La Cour!!

Perfect setting

La Cour is the perfect place for smaller weddings. There are so many unique areas to take advantage of and make the place your own. We wanted a place with a cozy, outdoor atmosphere rather than a city feel, but didn't want to have to drive 1-2 hours to find it. Someone told us about La Cour and we couldn't have been happier! You feel like you're out in the country, but in fact you're only 10-15 minutes away from every kind of hotel and restaurant you can think of. And yet, such a peaceful atmosphere there! Amy, the owner, is the sweetest 'lil thing! She made everything easy and stress free (as much as you can make a wedding stress free!). We had the perfect match, outdoor wedding, indoor reception. And we had so many of our guests comment on how they loved the venue. Highly, highly recommend!

Amazing wedding day!

I loved this venue when first saw it online and it’s even more amazing in person. Cost is super reasonable and Amy and her staff are amazing! So easy going and loved working with them... anything I had a question about they were so quick to help out!

Beautiful place and amazing people

Amy was a delight to work with, and her venue was perfect for the ceremony and reception we wanted. During the planning process, she was very responsive to our questions, and took the time to ensure we understood all of our options. Many of our guests commented on how beautiful the venue was and she made sure that each of our vendors knew exactly where to be to keep things smooth throughout the day! Amy was great at keeping everything low stress for everyone and even went above and beyond by adding things to the space for our guests' enjoyment.

La Cour Venue in McKinney is simply put.... perfect! This venue has EVERYTHING you need and 90% is included in the venue fee (which is awesome, since the little things REALLY add up). They have so many items for you to rent from them also, so you can make your day look like you want it to. We looked at 4 other venues, but quickly knew this was our venue when we arrived! The owner Amy is a gem of an individual who pours her heart and soul into this place....and you can tell! From start to finish she was GREAT to work with and I could not have been more ecstatic about choosing La Cour! We had several guests tell us this was the best wedding they'd ever been to and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Choose La Cour Venue, you will have ZERO regrets!!

PERFECT Wedding venue for my Husband and I. The Owner, Amy, was very accomodating and professional during the enitre planning process and all the way to the day of the wedding! Such a relaxed and inviting environment. The red brick venue is so beautiful that you wont need very many decorations! Thank you La Cour for helping us make our wedding day so perfect!

Amy Teague has been a jewel to work with. She put a lot of thought into individualizing our event needs and we will be forever grateful! Although her location is secluded, you will not regret choosing this venue. The drive is worth it. The venue is absolutely gorgeous.

The owner's of this property are GREAT to work with and the property is absolutely BEAUTIFUL. All of my questions were answered timely, and they were willing to work with me. Ms. Amy was so helpful and even had some good referrals for me for other vendors that have worked at her venue before. LaCour is an excellent venue for anyone seekiing a venue for 150 guests or less. Venue has options for indoor or outdoor seating and ceremony, Venue is very private located in rolling farmland just outside city limits if McKinney TX. Our wedding was at 5pm and the venue provided an excellent backdrop for sunset wedding photos as well as a beautiful, romantic courtyard for dancing and gorgeous photos after dinner. However, the best thing about this venue is the owner-Amy Teague. She was always professional, flexible, and went way beyond the extra mile to help us set up and orchestrate a perfect wedding event! You will not find a more helpful, kind, and knowledgeable venue owner!

This place is a hidden gem in the DFW area!! I have been to so many weddings the past few years and had never seen or heard of La Cour and I do not know why because this place is beautiful. The owner has created something so lovely with a mix of both indoor and outdoor space to host people.

Recently, my parents hosted a local reception with a little over a hundred people for my husband and I , and every guest that came could not believe how amazing this venue was when they arrived. My mother and I had the best time hosting here because the place with very little decoration needed spoke for itself.

The owner, Amy, is what added to our experience in a way that we were so grateful for. She was responsive, super kind, and honest about every aspect of her venue. She was willing to share ideas, vendors, and even decor when asked! Her and her husband were there every step of the way. I could not recommend this place enough and will continue to share it with friends and those who are seeking a place to host weddings, parties, or any other type of celebration. Love, love, love La Cour Venue.

This Venue was spectacular! Not only did it exceed my expectations but the owners quality of service was superb. Amy's on hands service and great suggestions made us feel at ease while planning our special event. But she doesn't stop there... The day of the event she was there helping and assisting us with setting up! The build and design of La Cour is truly magnificent. Our guest could not quit commenting on how beautiful this place is!

La Cour was the absolute PERFECT place for our wedding reception. Amy was wonderful to work with - professional, friendly, completely organized. She took care of every detail - and for stressed out brides, that is an absolute must!! The venue is incredible... minutes away from McKinney, but tucked away in a setting that makes you feel like you've been transported to a private getaway.

I would absolutely recommend any bride getting married at La Cour! The venue is stunning and Amy is the most helpful owner ever! Everything was perfect thanks to her help and we enjoyed everything about this venue!

We had our wedding at La Cour in March and it was absolutely perfect! Amy is so crafty and super talented (she's handmade most of the furniture and decor on site). She was a joy to work with and made everything run super smooth. The venue itself is gorgeous. It's pretty much a blank slate but it is so tastefully done that there isn't much you need to do in terms of decor. The outdoor spaces were amazing for pictures!!! I wish I could relive the whole day again!

I can't say enough about the BEAUTIFUL La Cour Venue, and the owner Amy. As soon as we drove up to the gate of La Cour we knew it was our venue...adding Amy to the mix only solidified that we were 100% right in our choice. Up to the wedding date, Amy was responsive, easy to work with, direct, and let us know exactly what to expect from the venue as well as for the day of our wedding. We had several of our guests compliment the overall atmosphere of La Cour Venue, and I can't say enough about the photos I have seen so far with La Cour adding such a fantastic backdrop to add to our special day. Amy and her husband Chad made sure that everything was taken care of for the venue, and stayed with us to the end to help up finish out the day. I would highly recommend La Cour venue for your ceremony and reception!

The key to any event is the venue and La Cour is the perfect venue for any occasion. Our wedding was absolutely amazing and we were able to utilize every area within the venue which facilitated a great flow to our wedding. Many of our guests commented on how beautiful and unique the venue was and they LOVED that you were able to access the bar both inside and outside of the venue thanks to a unique window hatch. I've said a lot about the physical space of La Cour, but what truly makes this place amazing is Amy and her husband! They were both so helpful and a joy to work with!

This venue was BEAUTIFUL! We wanted an intimate wedding in a beautiful setting, and we got that and more! The owner, Amy, was a pleasure to work with and very accommodating from the first meeting until we left the night of our wedding. Our ceremony was outside, and it was so beautiful that we didn't need to add ANY décor or flowers....and I'm a florist! That says a lot!! If I had to do it all over again, we would go right back there! Thank you Amy for being a major part of our BIG DAY!

We couldn't be happier using La Cour and Amy as our wedding venue! Amy was extremely helpful throughout the wedding planning process. She was always quick to respond and always accommodating. With all of the stress of wedding planning, Amy was always reassuring, and come wedding day, beyond helpful in every aspect. All of our guests kept saying how beautiful the venue was and we loved how many options the venue provided. We would highly recommend La Cour and are so happy we used them as our venue for our wedding. We couldn't have asked for any better!

My advice is to book this vendor fast and often!!! We had our wedding at LA Cour in Mckinney TX and it was the best day of our lives. Amy and her staff went over and above to provide excellent customer service to us. She is the most kindhearted and amazing person you could ever meet. The entire venue is absolutely gorgeous. I could not believe the amount of detail that went into every decor piece and element found at the venue. You will not find a venue more stunning than LA Cour! If you are looking for an venue for a wedding or any other event call Amy and book La Cour Venue!!!!! You will not be disappointed....I promise!! I'm so glad we had our wedding at La Cour!

Not only is the venue just gorgeous but the owners are something else! They go above and beyond for the couples. The flow of the venue is something you can't find every where and the lighting adds the final touch. Thanks for making my day even more special!

Amy is great to work with, and we could not have asked for a better venue. We loved utilizing the variety of spaces for indoor and outdoor seating, band and dance floor, and lawn games outside. The space and location are beautiful. I would recommend La Cour to anyone!

Amy and Chad have the most beautiful wedding venue in North Texas. They are professional, knowledgeable, and more than willing to accommodate your requests. We had about 90 people at our daughters wedding and everyone of them commented positively on the space. It was perfect and they are perfect hosts. Amy and LaCour offers everything you would need for a wedding venue. The property is emaculately maintained and the layout is perfect for ceremony and reception. It has everything you need. I cannot speak highly enough of Amy and how supportive and accommodating she is. I will recommend LaCour to anyone who needs a venue for any event.

Our daughter's wedding was in the Spring and we were thrilled with LaCour Venue in McKinney. Not only was the venue itself so lovely and intimate, but the owners, Amy and Chad were beyond accommodating and kind. They went above and beyond to make sure we always had any question answered, meeting vendors on site, ideas and flexibility to what we envisioned...just everything. At one point I even shared that I was stressed about something or another (completely unrelated to the venue!) and Amy's immediate response was "What can I do?". That sums up their attitude and approach to wanting to help make your day exactly right.
I cannot recommend La Cour highly enough. They were such a key component to making our daughter's wedding day so beautiful, special and enjoyable. Thank you Amy and Chad!

Get married here! Amy and her family were incredible to work with and the space is amazing. My husband and I could not have selected a better place. Amy was incredibly accommodating, allowing us to visit several times as they made (awesome) updates to the venue or I needed help planning the space. She also provided recommendations for vendors (we chose 2 of them). I was really nervous committing to a venue, not knowing what the end product would be, but I couldn't have designed a better venue if I tried :) Practically everyone at our wedding asked about the venue and I will recommend La Cour every time!

La Cour is a beautiful venue, with wonderful owners! They are so accommodating and helpful and want to make sure that you have a great experience/wedding day as possible. It was supposed to pour down rain on my day, and Amy (the owner) spent her time working with my mom to come up with back up plans and how to set up everything. We could not have asked for better people to work with, they made everything so easy and they are a GREAT price!! I would get married all over again just to have my wedding at La Cour again and to work with Amy!

Amy was absolutely great to work with and this venue was absolutely stunning. Everything was in perfect condition, the view was amazing, and the drive out there for the guests was short, scenic, and elegant. This was a truly amazing experience that was perfect for our wedding of about 100-120 people (I am not sure of the final headcount). I will absolutely recommend this venue to everyone I know. - We also got a bonus when a hot-air balloon flew over in the background - made for awesome pictures. Could not have been a better experience and better overall value

La Cour provided a lovely setting for my daughter's wedding and reception. La Cour has such a nostalgic appeal with its spacious courtyard, beautifully decorated bridal room, and the reception hall that flows into the balcony framed by nature's beauty. The feel of this unique venue is New Orleans' French Quarter situated in a picturesque countryside.
Amy, the owner, is very friendly, helpful, and professional. I loved how she listened to our decorating ideas and worked diligently to enhance them.
I loved this venue and would highly recommend La Cour.

La Cour is beautiful and was the perfect venue for my wedding. Both the inside of the venue and the outside terrace and aisle are just stunning and great for guests to mingle as well as dance! It provides such a great atmosphere allowing us to have an intimate celebration of our marriage with all of our family and friends. The owners are fantastic and so helpful, able to provide great advice and insight. I highly recommend La Cour to anyone, as it is a beautiful location with awesome owners.

The venue was absolutely wonderful in every way. Evening dinner for 70 in the courtyard underneath the lights was magical. It was a pleasure to work with Amy. She was accommodating to not only us, but to our vendors as well. Everything was exactly as she said it would be and there were no surprises. All of the guests were impressed with the beautiful venue as well. La Cour made our wedding day a beautiful memory.

Amy, who owns and operates La Cour Venue, made it possible for our wedding to take place. She was very professional, courtesy and easy to work with. Amy and Chad are amazing to work with. We had to tent the courtyard due to rain, they worked with us to ensure our guests were taken care of and everything went as scheduled. The venue and grounds are beautiful. We received so many comments from our guests on how beautiful everything was.

La Cour is a beautiful venue not very far from downtown McKinney! We loved the privacy and green space that it had to offer. Amy gave us the tour and was really kind, honest, and open-very refreshing! It wasn't a sales pitch of a meeting at all. The courtyard is so pretty and would have fit our guests (about 130) pretty comfortably. There is a grassy area on the back which they are continuing to groom to allow for guests to be inside and outside. There is a great area for a bar and a space for the caterer outside the main building, which helps with saving space. The bridal room was so pretty and had easy access to the bathrooms. The main building is really pretty and has two beautiful wooden tables for use (I was in LOVE with the tables) and then standard tables which you would put linens on. Personally, I felt like simple and minimal decorations would be needed, which helps when managing the budget. This venue is new and I know they have plans to keep growing it so I would HIGHLY recommend going to take a look at it!

I rented La Cour Venue for our rehearsal dinner and wanted it to be extremely nice for all of our guests. The venue itself is gorgeous and at night all of the candle light provides such an elegant atmosphere. Amy was excellent to work with and very responsive. As the date got closer and my questions came more often, she always answered my emails quickly so I could check things off my list. I would highly recommend booking La Cour for any type of event that you may have.

The venue was absolutely gorgeous and perfect for our party of 50-70 people. The atmosphere was intimate and provided a great back drop for our themed wedding reception. Amy and Chad were very helpful during the planning phases and the value we received for the price we paid was unbeatable.

Worst Personal & Professional Experience

Brides, please do not pass this up as another "COVID-19" review. If you're reading this, I know that you are painstakingly looking for a venue to have your dream day. I strongly urge you to look elsewhere, so you don't have anywhere near the same horrible experience, as I did. I also want to point out, you should sort La Cour's reviews by date, and keep an eye on which reviews are from actual couples. I will try to keep this brief, but I won't be able fully describe the worst personal and professional experience I've ever had.

My husband and I were to have our wedding in May2020. We had paid La Cour in full and early in Mar2020, 3wk prior to the lockdown in Texas. Amy at La Cour had assured us all would be well. Fast forward one month: Texas is in confirmed lockdown until 2 days prior to our wedding. We requested a partial refund (half the deposit which is the price of booking). Amy refused and said La Cour venue was not offering refunds of any kind for whatever reason. Amy begged, that if I could not have my wedding, to just have another party - Christmas, New Years, anything. It became very apparent she did not care about our wedding at all. Lawyers finally get involved. Multiple family members are calling us in tears. My husband and I decided the best was to reschedule, so another couple could take our date (we chose a very popular wedding date for this purpose). We let Amy know this - everyone wins, La Cour keeps their money, some happy couple gets a great date, and we don't have the stress of replanning a wedding. Amy flat out refuses, saying she had to cancel "personal plans" for our date which was still 4mo out. Our wedding date approaches, COVID-19 is soaring. La Cour instills rules without amending their contract. My husband's entire family cannot attend (all out of state/country) what La Cour kept referring to as the "celebration of our marriage". Family again calling in tears. My husband and I kept requesting safety and social distancing measures for La Cour's indoor venue specifically (it's very small), as the weather had been terrible with all of the hurricanes. We had a family friend pass due to COVID-19, so we were not messing around. They would not answer. Finally, a week before our event, they stopped responding to our emails completely. They ignored us a week prior and leading up to our event. I would like to also make known La Cour was our only vendor who did not provide any sort of refund. Our other vendors offered half to full refunds. We will continue to use and recommend them.

The first time I met Amy she told me she "babys" her brides. Amidst all of this, I called her personally, in tears, telling her how miserable I was, my husband was, and family/friends were, and how I had wanted to avoid this by not rescheduling. She told me "Sometimes you have to make decisions for your business." Brides, La Cour does not "baby" you or care about you, and you deserve a venue who does on your dream day.
