  Covid Wedding Superstar

  Tom was our caterer through the Union Mills Homestead and I cannot emphasize enough how amazing he and his wife were through the whole process! Getting married is hard, getting married during the covid pandemic ... well let's just say we were both stressed and nearly bald from pulling our hair out. If it wasn't for Tom, we would not have gotten married this year. He made sure every detail was in place and that we were taken care of on our wedding day. He handled rentals, made recommendations on colors and walked us through every detail. He even helped with details I never considered like the timelines and fans. He allowed us to use his wine barrels which are an expensive add on at any other venue. He fed us snacks during the million pictures we took during cocktail hour, had our dinner plates ready during the reception and even sent to go boxes with us to eat later on. We actually got to enjoy our meal around 1 am thanks to the hard work of Tom and his team. The food is great! Get the crab dip, believe me when I say you don't want to miss out on it! If you're like us and wanted a stress free wedding that won't break the bank... then do yourself a favor and hire this company.

  Vegetarian, Vegan, Gluten Free & Meat Eater Friendly!

  Kountry Kafe & Catering was a great caterer to work with. Tom was extremely flexible and made the whole process extremely straight forward and as stress-free as any wedding planning can be. The biggest factor for my wife and I when looking into caterers was making sure we found someone who was able to do vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free food in addition to the meat option. We have many friends who are vegan and gluten free and Tom worked with my wife and I to find an option that would work to satisfy both the vegans and gluten free guests. All of the food was absolutely delicious! Tom and Kountry Kafe and Catering were a joy to work with, and I would highly recommend them!

  Kountry Cafe offers buffet style catering for weddings and other occasions. Luckily, if you choose the Union Mills Homestead for your venue, you will have the pleasure of working with Tom. Everything was absolutely amazing from the moment we chose Kountry Cafe through the reception.

  Tom and the entire staff at Kountry Kitchen were absolutely AMAZING! Tom runs the show, and was very easy to work with! He's super laid back, which definitely helped put us at ease during the planning process. Their pricing was affordable, and the food was delicious! Your menu options are basically endless! Packages include serving staff and bartenders. As a well as bar space (you do need to provide the alcohol), tables/chairs, and linen rentals. Tom has made connections with local vendors which helped in the planning, and many offered discounts too! The entire process, from planning to day of, was flawless. We had a hurricane scare the weekend of our wedding (that thankfully changed course), but Tom was always prepared for plan B. We can't give enough praise and thanks to Tom and his staff, they were wonderful!!!

  This caterer works with the venue Union Mills Homestead. They are their exclusive caterer for the venue. Tom is the owner and runs the whole catering business. He is also the guy who has the information about the availability of the venue for weddings or other events. You also get the rentals through them which is by far the cheapest i have seen comparing it to other rental companies. I can only say nice things about Tom. He is very flexible with all the requests we have made though last minute. Very easy to talk with this guy. The food is also delicious and a LOT! If you have kids at your wedding, he doesn't charge for them. He also takes care of your wedding vendors making sure that they also eat like any other people who works that day. He will not charge for the vendor foods for 3-4 vendors but anything exceeding that he will but not very big amount. This catering company will not disappoint!

  We love the catering services provided by kountry kitchen cafe! They truely know that this is your big day and are willing to do whatever makes the bride happy! They have many menu options and also provide linens, tables, chairs, bartender, etc. we can't wait to taste the delicious meal we chose!

  Oh my gosh... Where to start!? The food was fantastic, fresh, delicious, and beautiful. The service was top notch and fitting of a fine dining restaurant. Tom, the co-owner and site manager, is one of the most helpful and kindest people imaginable.
  
  Our guests loved the food, bar none. The chicken fettuccine was tender and we'll seasoned, the beef tenderloin was perfectly cooked medium to medium rare and better flavor and more tender than many restaurant steaks I've had. The spinach salad with strawberries was so crisp and fresh, and the dressing is home made and light. Everything but the noodles was gluten free, not intentionally but because it was all homemade by Tom and his staff. We also had a whole roast pig brought in, and Tom served it with his delicious home made bbq sauce.
  
  We brought in our own GF rolls and crackers, which they were happy to serve for our guests with Celiac, keeping them in separate baskets.
  
  The servers very kindly offered to fix plates for our mobility-limited guests, and brought the groom and I plates as well, and made sure we got to eat immediately, and kept our glasses filled.
  
  In addition to the food, Tom also provided site coordination, ensuring we kept on schedule, taking with the DJ and vendors to make sure we stayed on schedule and got everyone seated and eating quickly, and just generally making everything run smooth. During the planning process, he was instrumental in advising me on table settings and helping arrange the alcohol, a handicap accessible portable toilet, and can arrange cake, flowers, and so, if you need it.
  
  I'm so grateful to Tom and his staff for making our dream a reality. Highly, highly recommended if you need catering in the Frederick-Westminster Maryland area, and if you are marrying at union mills barn, have no fear.... We booked sight unseen, and food untasted based on the reviews, And we don't have a single regret. Tom will work with you to fit your budget.

  I had my wedding at the beautifully rustic Union Mills Homestead in Westminster, MD. When I chose the venue, I found that they had an exclusive partnership with Kountry Kafe and that the owner (Tom Schuman) would be my go-to contact for everything regarding food, rentals, and schedules. Tom is exceptional; he is an honest and helpful coordinator with an approachable personality. My meetings with him always eased any worries or doubts I might have had during my planning process and he always had wonderful suggestions and was willing to work with me on everything. He even agreed to let me make monthly payments leading up to the event which REALLY helped as I had a tight budget and needed as much flexibility as possible. The food was really good (from what I heard, anyhow! LOL) I personally didn't eat much just because I was so hyped up! Tom also recommended a very good liquor store (Silver Run) who delivered directly to the venue and kept everything stocked the whole night...for a great price too because they offer a discount to Kountry Kafe's clients. Also, when my guest count changed about 5 different times in the 2 weeks leading up to the big day, Tom was understanding and accommodated the additional rentals and plates we needed. We ended up having about 120 guests. Brides - if you get married at the Homestead, you'll have no choice but to be wowed by his (and his whole staff's) service; but I would highly recommend him for any event at any venue! And P.S. get the tent! It was a HUGE asset to my wedding and allowed guests more room to move around and mingle. We had the bar set up out there with a few cocktail tables and it was perfect.

Since they are the exclusive caterer they know the venue better than anyone, as they do weddings there weekly. Tom was wonderful to work with and provided so much good insight to the venue, décor, logistics -- much more than just the food! The food was wonderful and the service they provided was top notch!
