We worked with DJ Zach for our October '25 wedding and we are SO glad that we did. From the planning process all the way through to our big day, Zach was easy and fun to work with! We loved his collaborative approach - he truly listened to the vibe we were trying to create and executed on it perfectly. He even helped us incorporate a drag queen and her set into our reception. Our friends and family danced the whole night and finished with a "one more song chant" at the end. If you're looking for a DJ that just "gets it", work with Zach! -

We had DJ Zach Kerns at our wedding and he was absolutely INCREDIBLE! The dance floor was packed all night and we got tons of compliments on him!!!
I am a bit of a self proclaimed ‘music snob’ and I had a LOT on my ‘do not play’ list and a LOT of silly details about how I wanted music to be played lol!!! My list of music requests was obnoxiously long and could probably have filled up like 5 whole weddings 🙊
Zach was literally so kind, understanding, patient with me and took all of my insane requests into consideration - and was able to navigate my excel sheet of like 18384746627281 songs with ease!!! I couldn’t have imagined the night going any better than it did. He did a perfect job. -

We couldn’t have asked for a better DJ for our wedding. From the very beginning, Zach made the planning process easy, listening carefully to our requests and reading the vibe we wanted for the night. On the day itself, he absolutely nailed it — the music flowed perfectly from the ceremony through to the last song, and he kept the energy high without ever feeling forced.
The dance floor was packed the entire night, which was exactly what we hoped for. Zach balanced our must-plays with great picks of his own, and the way he adapted to the crowd was spot on. We also really appreciated how professional and organized he was throughout — it let us relax and just enjoy the night knowing everything was in great hands.
So many of our guests told us how much they loved the music and the atmosphere Zach created. Thank you, Zach, for helping to make our wedding unforgettable! We’d recommend you in a heartbeat to anyone looking for a DJ who truly knows how to elevate a celebration.

We hired Zach back in April to DJ for our 10th year anniversary party. We bought out a restaurant so we had the celebration split between a cocktail hour, dinner and then dancing after dinner
Zach asked us for a list of songs/playlist for our songs, and we gave him 2 sets: One for cocktail hour/dinner and one for the dancing section.
The vibes were amazing during the cocktail hour and dinner. My parents personally loved some of their very own favorites playing as we were all chatting and having dinner.
Once the dinner service ended, music transitioned into Disco/Salsa/Merengue and it was great to see our friends jumping from their chairs and into the dance floor.
We’ve heard nothing but great compliments from friends and family on the music and vibes through the night and the great pickup during the happy hour!
We’ll be forever thankful for your help in making the night a memorable one for us and our loved ones. -

Zach of Kernsy Events was fantastic to work with. It’s hard to find a DJ that understands your vibe, can guide the evening, and also not be overbearing. Zach was flexible, organized, and super helpful. He assisted with multiple choreographed dance numbers, a song that I sang, and even had Turkish songs ready to play for my husband and his family. I couldn’t recommend him more highly! -

We had the absolute best experience with Zach for our wedding DJ! He brought just the right level of energy, keeping the vibe lively and fun throughout the entire event. One of the highlights for us was when he called out my nephew, who was dancing solo on the floor—such a sweet gesture that made him feel like a star!
His timing was impeccable; he knew exactly when to play iconic songs like Horses and Johnny Farnham that had everyone singing along. He mixed in some great bangers, too, which kept the dance floor packed all night. Beyond his musical talent, he was so kind and respectful to everyone, making the entire night feel that much more special.

DJ Kernsy was a joy to work with before and during the wedding. He is an excellent communicator and made us feel extremely comfortable throughout the process. On the day of our wedding, DJ Kernsy needed little to no guidance, he is the type of person to take initiative to ensure things go smoothly. Now on to the actual dancing portion of the wedding, DJ Kernsy absolutely killed it. Our guests kept raving about him! He has an incredible ability to read the crowd and get people excited.
We did not have a wedding planner and DJ Kernsy truly made it easy. Even the other vendors on-site were telling us how much they liked him. He is someone you can TRUST and he'll go above and beyond for you. -

I had the pleasure of working with Zach last fall for a wedding. The music was exclusively EDM for the dance floor, and it was the best party ever. Guest of all age ranges were up and dancing until the end of the night. He had seamless transitions and great song versions. His professionalism, experience, and understanding of music really shines. The entire experience was awesome, I only wish I had the playlist to bump in the car on my drive home. Choose DJ Kernsy for all your Brooklyn or Manhattan wedding dj needs, highly recommend! -

We had a pretty non traditional wedding, laid back, funky, moody disco vibes. I sent Zach a Spotify playlist to give him an idea of the vibes. He was responsive to all of our emails, showed up with plenty of time the day of, took care of his own setup, and we had an absolute blast with his set.
I danced the whole night, only sitting down to eat, and my guests had so much fun.
Not only did he knock it out of the park with the music I suggested, he branched out into other genres (with my permission) and really made it a night to remember. He also helped me pick a song for our processional, as I didn’t want a traditional wedding march.
He was professional, punctual, and he did an amazing job. -

I hired Zach for my brother’s 120 person wedding about 3 hours outside of New York City. He was amazing from start to finish! He set up an easy process for choosing what type of music we wanted to hear, and even helped the bride with her walk down the aisle song. He arrived perfectly on time to set up all the sound including the microphones for the ceremony, and helped us find a solution for using two different rooms for the ceremony and party.
The music was perfect from start to finish, he took our suggestions and built on them in a fun way to keep young, old and in between dancing. To quote the bride: “I don’t think I sat down for more than two minutes!” In a very stressful process of planning the wedding, Zach made the sound and music the easiest part. Highest recommendation! -

Zach was the absolute perfect DJ for our wedding. We (and our friends) like house music/new disco, but also cared about having music everyone knew (across generations) so everyone would be up and dancing. Zach totally understood us, and the progression throughout the night was perfect. We got aligned on vibes for different parts of the night (guest arrival, cocktail hour, dinner/speeches, start of party vs mid party vs end of party). He asked really good specific questions to make sure everything was exactly what we wanted (ie do you want this version vs this version; stopping this song at 48 seconds makes more sense that 52 seconds for an intro, etc.). He never made us feel stressed- he perfectly hits the balance of detail oriented and chill. We gave him a lot of base to work with (ie must hear these songs, this is the general vibe for this part of the night, here are a bunch of songs we'd like during cocktail hour but not a full hour worth) and then trusted his judgement to flesh everything out. He absolutely knocked it out of the park. All of our must plays were played, all of our "do not plays" were not played. Our parents were out and dancing all night, which is a tough feat to accomplish when playing music to also keep a younger crowd happy/engaged. There are a few songs that are special to our friend group, and singing/dancing to those at our wedding will forever be core memories. He made it SUCH a memorable party for us and our guests. It's clear that Zach is an experienced professional- it rained toward the end of cocktail hour and some of his equipment got wet. He needed to do a lot of pivoting in the moment, and guests were never aware of it. He kept the vibes going. Something people kept saying to us was, "I've never seen a bride and groom have this much fun at their own wedding." This had a ton to do with Zach, and we are so thankful we picked him to be there on our special day. 11/10; can't recommend him enough. -

We had a bit of a non traditional wedding and Zack executed it flawlessly and with no judgement. We wanted a hyped up party and he really delivered. He was actually being a DJ and not just pressing play on a playlist. He was responding live to the vibes. 10 out of 10. -

I can't recommend Zach enough! From start to finish, Zach was thoughtful, communicative, and patient with our many requests and questions. Zach walked us through the entire process of what choosing music looked like, through to the small details on the day of. I have to emphasize the communicativeness of Zach--he was beyond my favorite vendor to chat with because he was incredibly responsive and thorough in his explanations of whatever question I directed to him. It was clear from the beginning that he was excited to celebrate our big day and when the day finally arrived, the dance floor was packed all night which was exactly what we wanted! We had a few last minute weather changes with our ceremony and again, Zach transitioned his setup seamlessly from what was supposed to be a partial outdoor wedding, to an indoor ceremony and reception. His calmness despite the temporary mayhem added to a completely stressless and lovely event. I can't recommend Zach enough! -

We hired Zach to be the Dj at our wedding and I am beyond glad that we did. Our wedding was pushed back twice and he was accommodating, professional, and very responsive. On the day of, he arrived on time and did the most amazing job. He took care of the music for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. For the ceremony we gave him a list of songs we wanted to have played and he looped and timed them all perfectly. During cocktail hour I could hear the music from a distance while we took photos and I said out loud at least 3 times "I love this song." All of the music during the reception was perfect and once the dance floor was opened up to all it was a constant dance party until the end of the night. There was not a single song that had people wanting to take a break. He read the crowd perfectly and it was the absolute best. -

I highly recommend Zach! Our wedding was originally set for Nov 2020 and we had to move in a few times. Any time I had to update Zach with a new date, he responded so quickly.
We even had to deal with a last minute venue change 2 months before the big day. The venue change meant Zach had to bring more equipment and he was incredibly kind and responsive and was able to accommodate for all the last minute changes.
During the wedding, Zach killed it! Everyone was dancing the night away! -

Zach was exactly the DJ we were looking for. He has a chill vibe, is extremely professional, with great music compilations, and the ability to throw an amazing dance party. His range in music selection were the perfect mix of eclectic and crowd favorites, setting the mood from cocktail hour all through the last song. As one of the first weddings of the summer, our guests came excited and ready to dance. They did not leave disappointed. We've since gotten many compliments from our guests on the music being on point! Zach was a pleasure to work with! He is easy going, responsive, reasonably priced (especially for NYC), and he was open to all our suggestions / requests.
I had a very specific vision for the music played at our wedding (probably much more specific than a typical customer) & Zach was happy to work with me on the playlist & to play all our "must have" songs, including finding & playing some very rare songs in foreign languages (something that other DJs we originally contacted refused to agree to). This was very important for me.
Lastly, our guests were on the dance floor all night & everybody had a great time! -

Zach was so pleasant to work with! When our previous DJ bailed a month before the wedding we were in a panic to find someone else. Luckily Zach was available and came recommended by a friend. I truly believe everything happens for a reason because we quickly realized having Zach as our DJ really completed our wedding.
He was easy to work with, listened to our requests without hesitation and delivered an evening of tunes perfectly tailored for the different moments of the event.

With all the planning that goes into a wedding, nothing is quite as important as the music and I couldn’t be happier with Kernsy Events. My wife and I got married in Marfa, TX. Not the easiest place to get to. Zach made it a breeze. He said the travel wouldn’t be a problem and looked forward to being back in Marfa. We discussed the feel we were going for and suggested some songs and he played off that to rave reviews. Everyone was so happy and we danced for hours. Daniel Sent on 01/30/2018I saw DJ Kernsy tear it up at Goodroom in Greenpoint on a few wild nights, so when he agreed to play our wedding, I already felt lucky. Needless to say, he tore it up. Besides making my wife's and my most special day even more magical, we got a lifelong friend in the process. Zach is my favorite DJ in the world, period.
