    First Rate All Around

I have been hosting writing retreats at the Kemble Inn for the past 6 years and have never been disappointed. Not only is every room in the inn spectacular, but the staff is top notch and very responsive and accommodating. From the moment you walk through the doors, the beauty and serenity of the inn envelopes you. It's like walking into a dream world. I always ask my retreat attendees to rate their experience and they have unanimously given the highest marks for the Kemble Inn. I look forward to returning again and again.

Elegant and timeless Berkshire's wedding venue

What first attracted us to Kemble was the view of the incredible Inn, but what made us choose it was Kemble's willingness to work with us to make our vision a reality. We had seen so many beautiful venues offering a luxury cookie cutter experience, but at Kemble we were free to create the event that we wanted. We rented out the entire mansion for our wedding party to stay in for the whole weekend, had the ceremony out back on the porch, and the party on the back lawn in a tent. I wanted an elegant and timeless feel, but with the beautiful natural surroundings of the mountains. My husband wanted a weekend long party with all of our friends. At Kemble we got everything we wanted.

In addition, all the people we worked with were helpful, accommodating, and knowledgeable. Scott, the proprietor of the Inn, answered all of our questions quickly, and the staff there to run our weekend were phenomenal.

The level of amenities and attention to detail in the Inn are unmatched. Expect to have all your guests pampered for their entire stay. Each room is unique, so you have varied backdrop for your photos. The town of Lenox is 1 block away and provides many more lovely inns for the rest of your guests to stay in as well as restaurants and hair salons so you do not have to go far.

My fiance and I looked at the Inn to host our wedding. The inn is cool and chic! It has beautiful picture window in the back room that looks out over the huge yard! Ultimately, we decided to go with a different venue based on the number of guests we had. Jessica, the coordinator, is very quick to respond! She was extremely sweet and accommodating. I wish I could have worked with Jessica more!

    Gorgeous Inn, Incredible staff

I cannot speak highly enough about my experience with the Kemble Inn. When we were touring the Berkshires looking for a venue I knew that I wanted a place that didn't require me to bring every piece into in order to create my dream wedding. The Kemble Inn was our last stop and my jaw dropped when I walked through the front door. First of all, the curb appeal of the Inn is amazing. I could immediately imagine my guests walking from the ceremony venue and being wowed as they came around the corner and saw the grand home. Walking inside took my breath away. It is basically my fantasy home- The furnishings are so meticulously designed and so lovingly arranged. Not a single pillow looked out of place but somehow it's not the least bit stuffy. The clincher for me was the winding staircase and teal wall and dramatic crystal chandelier. I immediately knew this was where I was going to get married and I just hoped that the management would match the aesthetic perfection. I was not disappointed. Scott, the owner, and Ron the chef are two of the most professional, detail and quality oriented people I have ever worked with. My husband is a big cook so we knew that the food being good was a major priority. Not having to work with a separate caterer alone was worth it-- but then we tried the food and it was incredible? I really couldn't believe it. Three years later and people still talk to me about the crab-cakes! (And mosts of our guests were either Alaskan or Rhode Islanders so they have very exacting seafood standards!) We had about 150 people at the wedding and were nervous that it would be too small for a sit down reception- Scott and Ron gave us the brilliant idea to have it all be passed plates and a carving station. SO MANY people commented to us that that was their favorite aspect- Not having to be stuck at a table made it feel more like a party and people were able to hang outside by the fire pit, on the veranda, or explore the main floors. The guest rooms are gorgeous, I had a soaking tub in mine and my mom had a steam shower in hers. They were a gorgeous backdrop for the "getting ready" photos. Finally, the staff was unreal- Our guests that stayed at the Inn were so taken care of and the reception guests said that there were never lines at the bar and everyone went above and beyond to make them feel welcome. The staff was not big, but during the weekend it felt like there were three times as many people working because everyone was so responsive and on top of every job and request. I just felt like I didn't have to worry about anything the entire weekend. When the toasts started, there was Scott with a bottle of champagne and glasses, when the band arrived the whole staff got them set up on the staircase (another amazing idea from Kemble--made it feel like a concert), and the decor of the Inn was exactly what I would have designed-but I didn't have to lift a finger or buy too many flowers! The art, the furniture, and the colors are the perfect mix of hip and historic. I wanted the day to be memorable, colorful, sophisticated, and low key. Kemble delivered on all of these.

We booked the Kemble Inn for our rehearsal dinner, wedding ceremony, reception, and guest hotel for our small family wedding of 25 people. It was the customized experience of a lifetime. The entire team at the Kemble allowed our friends and family to call their lovely inn our home away from home. The setting was picturesque, the service was all about making our wedding unique, special, and "ours", and the guests still continue to rave about the food. Your wedding day is a blur of memories and while I can't recall a lot about that day, I will always remember the compliments we received from the guests about the venue, the food, and the overall wedding experience. We wanted a destination wedding that brought our two families and friends together as one and we got just that thanks to the new friends and family at the Kemble who were equally as much a part of our great day as the rest of our guess.

The Kemble Inn was a stunning backdrop for our Spring wedding of approximately 90 guests - the grounds were well-kept, the food was phenomenal and the wait staff made sure all of our guests were taken care of during the reception. The reason I would not recommend this venue is that there is no middle management to plan and coordinate events. When we signed our contract to secure the venue, we were led to believe there was a specific person that took care of events, as well as an inn manager who would both be able to guide us through the planning process and be there on the day-of the wedding to make sure everything goes smoothly. Unfortunately, the events person was fired (without a replacement) shortly after we signed the contract, and the inn manager was never mentioned again (we later found out she was on maternity leave, again no replacement). Due to those factors, the Kemble Inn owner attempted to fill all of those roles, though it was quite obvious that he was not used to doing so - I had to point out mistakes in almost every written proposal/contract/things he completely forgot about. Worst of all, the only time he made an appearance all wedding weekend was after the reception ended when the wedding party was all in the bridal suite winding down and the owner banged on the door telling us to go to bed and called the police on us - we had rented out the entire inn, the police told us there were no outside noise complaints and we were doing nothing wrong... But apparently the owner was just annoyed. Extremely innapropriate. Because of all of our amazing other vendors, including the most incredible wedding planner (that we had to hire because of the Kemble's incompetency that I mentioned earlier), the wedding turned out exactly as we'd hoped, but it was certainly no thanks to the venue or venue ownership.

    Kemble Inn's reply:

    Hi Katie,
I'm sorry to hear that you had a negative experience. I have joined the team at Kemble Inn, focusing on weddings and events. I wanted to address your concerns and let you know that we now have a person on staff to assist with on-site event coordination as well as my administrative support throughout the planning process.
    Best,
    Grace
