    Easy and accommodating, great food

The Kellogg center and their staff were accommodating and professional ! We met with the chef and his recommendations on food were amazing! The appetizers and layout was out of this world’ the food was hot and tasted amazing and that is hard to do with 290 guests! Rhonda was the sweetest and so
Helpful when planning our event! Loved working with all of them!

Stop looking - this is it!

You will regret it if they're booked on the day you want! We got married at the MSU Alumni Chapel with reception at the Kellogg Center. We wanted a smaller intimate wedding with higher end food, drink, and service. And we got it! We almost increased our guest list to be larger just because we also loved the larger newly remodeled banquet room options! We were shocked to find out they were an all-inclusive venue and I'd never do it any other way! What a weight off my shoulders. Everything from set up and linens to food and open bar service was included. They even set up our additional personal decorations, which stunned me! I think I was the most stress-free bride the day of my wedding because I had ZERO set up to do. We had the most perfect day, much thanks to the Kellogg Center staff, particularly the wedding coordinator, Taylor. She made sure everything was exactly how we imagined and was above and beyond kind and accommodating. With the amount of personal attention we received, you'd have thought we were the only couple getting married that year! We were even more pleased the day of the wedding as everything went like clockwork. The service staff was impressive and really elevated our dinner experience. We still have people talking about how amazing the meal was! Having the venue also be a hotel with attached garage was very convenient for guests and gave us peace of mind in case of rain on our wedding day. We would choose them again and again if we had to.

My husband and I only looked at one place to hold our reception and we knew the Kellogg Center was it. Pam and her assistant Lindsey always went above and beyond to assure our special day went according to plan. Not only was the food amazing, but the staff was always friendly and there to help lend a hand.

I LOVED our reception. Pam was very easy to work with and very professional. We got many complements about how good our food was. I appreciated how little work that I had to do and my family had to do to get the reception ready. The Kellogg staff did a great job getting everything set up to the plan that was given to them.

I am an event planner in Michigan and the Kellogg Center hosted a wedding that I planned this past weekend. Their coordinators, event managers, and staff did an amazing job! They went above and beyond my expectations. It was a great venue that I highly recommend!

My husband and I used the Kellogg Center as our hotel and reception venue. Pam and Rebecca were wonderful to work with from the beginning. They are organized, follow up quickly, and are willing to work with any requests! Be sure to book rooms in advance as they fill quickly. The State Room had an amazing brunch for my immediate family in a private room the morning after our reception. The ballroom was gorgeous with new lighting, and conveniently located near restrooms for guests. Staff was efficient, friendly, and professional. We are given a person to oversee our reception who answered to any of our needs. The food was fabulous! My guests were raving about the bacon mac n cheese and the filet mignon for days afterward! I would highly recommend MSU's Kellogg Center to any bride and groom!

They did an outstanding job. Completely flexible and professional. A little on the pricier side but was worth every penny. Amazing food also! There wedding planning professionals knew what they were doing and understood and transferred our dreams and wishes into what came out on our special day.

The Kellogg Center staff is tremendous. We had my reception at the Kellogg Center in Big Ten A, a brunch in Red Cedar B, and we had our guest room block at the hotel. The reception went just as planned (despite a very minor power outage on one wall causing us to be without the DJ's music for about 5-10 minutes), and all of the details were exactly as discussed in our pre-event meetings. The wedding coordinator, Pam, and her intern, Rachel, were phenomenal and willing to offer their help and guidance at any time. We had wonderful service from the banquet team and bartenders, and the Banquet Manager tended to me, the groom and our families all night--he was amazing. The food was delicious, and several friends asked us if they could have doggie bags to take home more food because they loved it so much. I would have had my reception there again in a heartbeat. The brunch the next day was also delicious and our guests raved about the variety of food on the buffet. We were so glad we chose to have the brunch at the Kellogg Center for our out of town guests since it was convenient and the food was perfect. Our guests room block was managed well and the front desk staff did a great job distributing welcome bags as guests checked in. They even gave the groom a room to sleep in the night before the wedding when he kept getting woken up by a snoring groomsman. The Kellogg Center team is a group of true professionals and we are so glad we chose to work with them.

Everyone at Kellogg goes out of their way to make your wedding special and to see that everything runs smoothly. As the mother of the bride, I just had to leave everything in their capable hands and they did an outstanding job. They always have time to help you and to answer all your questions. The food and service was excellent as well.

We loved the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center for our wedding! Everything was perfect. Our ceremony was scheduled to be on the East Patio, but it rained and we had a rain back up plan in the auditorium. The reception was held in the Lincoln Room and we had a cocktail meal with hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar. The food was fantastic. They made sure the head table had water if needed, and the staff was great! I would recommend them to anyone!

We had our reception in the Lincoln Room. Pam and her staff were always so kind, helpful, and had great suggestions as we navigated through our planning. The Kellogg Center is a little expensive but absolutely worth it. We were satisfied 100% with the banquet staff, the food, our suite and room block. We also had our rehearsal dinner in the State Room. I have incredible memories of our wedding and am so glad we chose Kellogg Center. They truly do make every effort to pull off the perfect event.

We held our ceremony on the East Patio and our reception in the Lincoln Room and both were beautiful. We got the Wedding Buffet package and the food was also excellent. We heard comments that it was the best wedding food that many people had ever had, and one person even said it was one of the best meals he's ever had. The only negative was that Pam was hard to get a hold of sometimes, I think she's a really busy lady.

Pam was great in helping us get ready for our renewal of vows reception in the Lincoln Room. She really made the event special and took care of everything we requested. They were more than willing to do a custom setup with items that we already had. The food was excellent and we heard nothing but great things from our guests.

We were in the Lincoln Room and worked with Pam. She was extremely helpful with all of my bazillion questions. Guests loved the food, the service staff was friendly, helpful, and knew what they were doing. We were able to arrange the room how we wanted it, and they set up our place cards and our favors for us. We were supposed to drop off the favors to Pam?s office before 4 pm on the Friday before, but my brother had them in his car and did not get there in time. We finally just decided to have my dad set them up himself, but when he got down there with the cart of Jones Soda bottles, the staff immediately offered to set them up for him. We also had a block of rooms for guests as well, which worked out well. Overall, guests liked the rooms, although the standard ones were on the small side, they were clean, and convenient. The front desk staff were very helpful. They brought us up the carts and even found a surge protector for our hair people when they came in. Parking was not an issue at all ? most of the time no one was manning the gates. One of the downsides is the flexibility. They only have two buffet packages to choose from, which change yearly, so we were expecting one menu, but got a new one when January rolled around - which was fine. The food was still delicious.

We had scouted out the Kellogg Center right after getting engaged and really liked the set up. When we met with Pam (the wedding coordinator) we were sold. It was by far the most professional, informative, and fun venue meeting I have ever been to. Pam was able to answer all of our questions as well as provide us with a ton of information - including lists of vendors that are in the area (everything from flowers, to limos, to cakes). The meeting started on time, we were given a tour of the venue, and had time to ask questions and were told we could come back or call anytime. The information provided was very helpful, there were no hidden costs, and an open bar is included (which really helps with the price). They also set you up to come in and have a "test dinner" with the food so that you know what you are getting and if you like it. They allow you to change the menu if you are not satisfied - but I promise that you will be, they have great catering.

One of the other nice things was that they take care of everything - two days before the wedding they had us drop off the favors, cake serving set, and miscellaneous stuff along with directions and they had it set up perfect for us on the day of the wedding. They also do a timeline that tells you when things will happen. The day/night of your wedding there is a coordinator in your room making sure that things happen when they are suppose to - for example, if you want to make sure you don't forget to throw the bouquet the have it timed in and let the DJ know when you want this to happen - that way you don't forget about it, and the DJ and photographer are aware of when things will happen. You are also able to add the songs that you want played for each moment (bouquet toss, first dance, enterance, etc.) and the room coordinator makes everything fall into place. I, my husband, and my parents found this to be very helpful.

When booking your venue my advice, if you are going to use Kellogg, is to try to book your summer wedding in May of the previous year - we booked in August of the previous year and it was a little bit of a struggle to get the church and reception site to coordinate.

We had to book early, and even almost didn't get the room we wanted. They are tight for space in some rooms (we know a lot of people), so you have to be flexible with numbers of guests. They were accommodating towards special needs (vegetarians, timing of reception, set-up) and the "extras" in the wedding package were great!

We held our wedding ceremony at Kellogg Hotel, it was supposed to be outside at the East Patio but there ended up being a tornado watch and massive thunderstorms so plan 'b' was the auditorium inside Kellogg. It wasn't the outdoor wedding I was hoping for but that is out of anyone's control, however it was good they had a backup plan for us and it turned out to be perfect wedding ceremony. The original person we met with when we booked Kellogg left about 3 months prior to our wedding, I was a little worried about this but it turned out fine, the girl who took over had been working there for a few years so she knew what to do.

We held our reception at the Kellogg Center and overall, everything went well. However, since this is the largest expense of a wedding, there were a few things that could have been better. Lindsay took over as the on-site coordinator a few months before the wedding and she was a little overwhelmed. There were times my emails went completely unanswered until I called. During the reception, we had a long line at the bar the entire night. Most of our guests were ordering two drinks at a time because they were tired of waiting in line. Also, they gave us a hotel block and said we could add on rooms once we filled our block. Well the hotel booked up before our deadline, which left many of our guests scrambling to find rooms in the Lansing area. There was a waitlist, but rooms would open up for booking online before they would call people on the waitlist (including my 90-year old grandma who was waiting for a room). I ended up with about 10 rooms in my name because I was compulsively checking the hotel website, and then transferred the rooms over to my guests. This took a lot of my time and wasn't something I thought I would need to worry about since this was part of the reason we booked our reception in a location with a hotel. Overall, the food was exceptional and the staff worked well with all our vendors to make sure our reception was set-up and went smoothly. Lindsay greeted our wedding party as soon as we walked in the door after our ceremony, which was great to see. Also, the food tasting is a great experience. You have to use their catering, but they invite everyone in on one day and put out every food option, buffet, bar option, etc. You get to taste anything you want before making your decision and the bar options were great.
