The most magical week of our lives
We used KNE’s full service package for our international destination wedding in Florence and cannot recommend the team highly enough!! We loved working with them and I’m sad that our journey has come to an end...
THE BEGINNING: We had reached out to KNE for help planning our wedding with a vision of a giant vacation with our closest friends and family that happened to have a wedding in the middle of it. We didn’t have a location, menu, colors, or theme picked out. We just wanted to spend as much time with our guests as possible. Planning a wedding with a 12 hour time change, currency exchange, language barrier, and demanding jobs was an impossible task and we needed A LOT of help.
PLANNING: Niara and the KNE team became our greatest support team during the most trying time. While I’ve heard wedding planning can be very stressful… Niara and team made it the one thing we could get excited about every month! They really got to know us and presented carefully curated options for us to choose from - making planning so easy and stress free. On top of that, Niara helped us navigate family emergencies the month of, dress alteration fumbles, and complex decisions with grace and ease.
VENDORS: It truly felt like KNE was on OUR side not the wedding industry’s. We never felt pressured to buy things we didn’t need, upgrade packages, or choose certain vendors. In fact we came in well under budget without compromising the vision! We are so incredibly grateful for the team we had. Our guests are still talking about how delicious the food was, how incredibly talented the DJ and string duo were, and how beautiful the florals and venue were. We are so grateful for the wonderful teams she found who were a part of our big day.
PRE-WEDDING EVENTS: KNE’s travel planner, Bethany, helped us organize a joint bachelorette/ bachelor party in Florence before the wedding. She also worked with us to find the best deals for our pre-wedding honeymoon. We had the best time and created so many memories that will last a lifetime.
THE WEDDING: Our wedding was the absolute greatest week of our lives. Niara and Ivy kept us fed, hydrated, relaxed, and on schedule. We didn’t have a worry in the world on our wedding day and I slept like a baby the night before. Our vision came true and so much more! Everything was perfect and we were able to enjoy quality time with our friends and not worry about logistics. The ceremony was filled with butterflies and singing birds. I’m happy we have photos to prove it was more than just a dream!
Thank you so much to Niara and everyone at KNE for spending the last year and a half with us planning our wedding. To any couples out there reading this and wondering if you should reach out to Kay… DO IT!! You won’t regret it! Your wedding will be amazing and you’ll have so much fun planning it! -

We had the good fortune of working with KNE for our wedding in Positano & we cannot say enough good things about them & our experience.
My husband & I met with several planners, but KNE stood out from the others for several reasons. Kay utilized our call to ask us a series of questions & to provide us with a realistic budget range based on our needs. She was extremely transparent about what KNE offers & was able to provide examples based on previous weddings they've done in Positano. Out of all the planners we met with, Kay & Niara made us feel the most at ease, excited, & understood.
We began the planning process in February 2024 with Niara & Bea as our main contacts, & our wedding was in October 2024. Though our wedding was small (25 guests), this was still a relatively short planning period. We never felt like we were compromising on anything nor did we feel rushed, stressed, or pressured with our decisions. Niara knew the owners of our first choice venue, Villa Oliviero, & was able to help us secure the villa in our desired date range. From there, everything fell into place beautifully. Niara and Bea connected us with vendors that fit exactly what we were looking for. Additionally, our vendors were all people we genuinely enjoyed getting to meet & work with. KNE's network of connections in Positano was a huge asset during the planning process & wedding itself. We did not visit Positano before our big day, so knowing we had someone advocating for us & who had a good feel for the area was invaluable. KNE uses Aisle Planner, & it made coordination & communication easy. We were always on the same page & up to date, & we knew exactly what we needed to do and when. As someone with a type A personality, I greatly appreciated this. There were no surprises about anything.
The KNE team created our website & also initiated contact with our guests to help answer questions. Whether it was about finding a place to stay, travel from the airport to our venue, or anything else, Niara was there to help. She also let our guests know that they could reach out to her during the wedding itself, which allowed us to truly enjoy the experience rather than answering tons of texts about logistics.
When we arrived at our venue, Niara and Casey came to check in with us & to review our schedule. Over the three days that our events took place, Niara & Casey ensured everything happened seamlessly for both us & our guests. We knew exactly where we needed to be without feeling like we were scrambling from one activity to the next. We felt taken care of the whole time, & so did our guests!
In terms of the wedding itself, we are still blown away by how it turned out. Bea worked so hard bringing our vision to life, & it was even better than we could have anticipated. The details were incredible & truly reflected who we are. I will never forget the moment I saw our dinner table for the first time. Several people have told us that they've never seen prettier flowers and decor at a wedding.
For our wedding favors, Niara contacted a friend with a shop in town, & they created hand-painted glass jars with lemons, our name, wedding date, and the location. Niara & Casey purchased tons of Italian candy and our guests were able to fill the jars at our reception. This is just one example of how the team helped add personal touches to our wedding.
We recognize that planning a wedding can be an extremely stressful process & can create high-pressure scenarios. I can honestly say I enjoyed the process & did not lose a night of sIeep worrying. We trusted KNE completely. Our monthly then weekly meetings were something I looked forward to. Niara and Bea always showed up smiling, positive, & got us excited about everything ahead. Their enthusiasm was infectious, & I know our wedding would not have been the magical fairytale it was without their efforts. The whole team poured so much into our event. If they were tired or stressed, they never let it show.
In sum, we loved every moment of working with KNE & already miss them. We wish we could do it all again! We never could have anticipated how incredible our wedding would be & we owe it all to KNE! -

From start to finish, working with Niara and the KNE Team was an absolute dream! We did not know the first thing about planning a wedding in the US, so when we decided on an Italian wedding, hiring a planner was a must. KNE was the first planner we reached out to, and we never looked back!! Their attention to detail and genuine passion for making our special day unique to us was evident every step of the way.
Planning Process:
Niara and Bea guided us through the entire planning process, offering creative ideas while also respecting our vision. Starting with budget planning, setting expectations, and understanding our ideal weekend when sourcing through hundreds of Villas throughout Italy. They were incredibly organized, providing us with timelines, checklists, and communication threads that kept us on track throughout the entire process.
They utilize a website call Aisle Planner and it was exactly what we needed for our type-A personality, it became our holy grail for over a year.
Vendor Coordination:
They already have an impressive network of vendors, but what we loved is that they didn’t limit our options to those that they already had a relationship with. They spent the time sourcing vendors that fit our vision, budget, and overall esthetic. They encouraged this because it not only made it “N+J’s Wedding” it just expanded their network even further. Each set of recommendations was perfect (typically received 3-4 options). From our floral arrangements, the villa catering team, live trio, DJ, HMU, weekend stationary, and rentals, everything was PERFECT. Niara and Bea handled all the communication, making it stress-free for us.
“Day-of” Coordination:
We had more of “entire weekend” Coordination. We had 3 days of events at the Villa and Niara and Annie were onsite ALL 3 DAYS ensuring everything was set-up and organized for all 3 events. And guess what, all 3 days, everything went seamlessly (and if it didn’t we didn’t know something went awry)!! Niara and KNE Team managed the timeline perfectly, ensuring that every detail was in place. We were able to relax, be present, and socialize with guests that had flown across the world to be there with us on our special day. We were truly able to enjoy the “moment” of a weekend, knowing we were in expert hands.
Personal Touches:
What sets KNE apart was their ability to personalize our wedding. As I mentioned above, they specialize in personalizing your weddings. Think about all the weddings you have been to in your life so far, don’t they all seem to kind of blend together? We promise you, if you have an idea that is a non-negotiable, they will find a way to do it. They incorporated unique elements that truly reflected our personalities, from custom signage to meaningful rituals. They also went shopping for our in room guest goodies!! Niara and Annie went into town and purchased a local salty and sweet snack for the rooms and hand delivered them to each door during the welcome party.
Last but not least, and something that really shows they go the extra mile…After the wedding day and during the reception while you and guests are dancing the night away, Niara and Annie gathered and organized all our things and personally brought them back to our room. So when we got back to the room after the best day of our lives, we had all our toiletries and getting-ready items!! This was just the cherry on top of everything else they accomplished during the weekend.
Overall Experience:
Our wedding was perfect to us, and that would not have been possible without the KNE Team. We couldn't have asked for a better experience! If you're looking for someone who is professional, creative, and truly cares about your vision, look no further than KNE. Thank you Kay, Niara, Bea, and Annie for making our Tuscan wedding weekend extraordinary! May we all remember the 21st night of September.

KNE will bring your vision to life!
Kay Northrup Events is nothing short of amazing. We initially reached out to Kay to do an initial "Power Planning" session 2 years ago. We went from having no idea how to start planning, to us feeling comfortable and excited about the planning process with the confidence of what to do next!
Through the course of our conversations, our vision evolved from a destination wedding in the Mediterranean to a music-festival themed wedding. Since KNE specializes in untraditional weddings, Kay was so excited about the concept and directed us to their Production Manager, Niara, who has helped plan and execute music festivals!
Niara became our go-to for the next year, alongside KNE's Designer Bea, the three of us met monthly to talk through logistics and make decisions. They kept us on track when our ideas ran away with us, but encouraged our creativity and energy and helped bring this concept to life. Through their contacts they found the most perfect location for our wedding, that allowed us the flexibility to make a music festival event and wedding happen. With their help, we had an amazing stage for multiple acts, a grilled cheese food truck, custom made wristbands that acted as everyone's seating chart. Day of - they coordinated with our vendors to ensure delivery went smoothly, steamed dresses, dropped off breakfasts, helped us get dressed. Everyone had such a great time and had nothing but nice things to say about the vendors, the location, the theme and how everything turned out.
Niara and Bea, and their team day-of, went above and beyond to make our day special! They're a full-service team, and they love what they do and it shows. Anyone considering a planner should hire them - full stop.

Words cannot describe how thankful we are to have had Kay and the KNE team planning our wedding and there with us on our wedding day. The most important thing for us in a planner was that they be someone we could connect with, trust, and be able to magically put together our vision (within our budget). Kay was that and then some. She truly went above and beyond. We had a Persian wedding in Positano, Italy and I cannot stress enough how difficult it is to source anything in Positano, let alone specific items for our Persian ceremony, but Kay, Bea, and Niara somehow made it happen. Even impressing the Persians in attendance which is a hard feat. The villa they found was truly from a dream and all our vendors were amazing.
We were nervous about not having a planner IN Italy or the cost of having a wedding planner at all, but it was truly the best money we spent on the wedding AND having someone in the US that we could trust and understood the mixing of cultures was so so beneficial for us.
We didn't really have in mind what we wanted the vision of our wedding to be and I so appreciated the values exercise and design questionnaires to help us think about what we actually want for our wedding. Whenever we were feeling outside pressure to do something for the wedding, we could always look to those as our north star.
The bittersweet of it all is having such a magical week of wedding events with Kay & Niara by our side and then having to say goodbye to them after almost 2 years of continuous planning. Kay was so incredible the week of the wedding, we had family coordination, building tables, sourcing items for the ceremony, turning our timeline on its head, cancelled HMU trials, missed flights, and i'm sure many many things I didn't even know about because Kay handled all of them with grace and confidence and I knew 100% whatever came up there would be 7 back up plans ready to go.
Overall, 10 out of 10 would 1000000% recommend and I will be hoping Kay is available for a vow renewal in 5 years...
We also did a power planning session with Kay before starting our wedding planning journey with her and this is my review for that:
My Fiancé and I booked a power planning session with Kay a month or so after getting engaged and wow let me tell you how incredibly helpful that was. She helped us define our priorities and vision for the wedding and gave us a realistic budget line by line based on that vision. The budget breakdown for us was truly the most impactful part of the session. She definitely opened our eyes to considerations and questions we 100% never would have thought of especially since we are doing a destination wedding in Italy. We feel a lot more comfortable with the wedding planning process and know what steps to take moving forward. I could not recommend doing a power planning session with Kay enough!!! -

Words cannot begin to express our gratitude for the Kay Northrup Events team.
From my initial call with Kay I knew not only had I found my wedding planner but a life long friend. Kay, Niara, and Bea are truly the dream team of wedding planners.
Their personalities, clear communication style, expert vision, and flawless execution made our wedding day a dream come true. Their expertise allowed us to focus on actually enjoying the wedding planning process while they took care of the rest.
Every single vendor they aligned me with matched our budget, our vision, and personality too.
Kay, is a wedding magician, every single call I left knowing there was nothing to worry about and that we were right on track. To top it off her "do what brings you joy" attitude allowed me to think for myself and not about others opinions. Niara, made sure every piece of the puzzle was perfectly aligned (and handled the rowdy groomsmen with ease) and Bea brought my "Almost Heaven" esthetic to life in ways I could only had dreamed.
We left our wedding with not one single regret and it's all because of their hard work. In all honesty if you want your dream wedding book this team, they are truly magical. -

Best Wedding Planning Professionals On The Planet
Kay and the KNE team are without a doubt the best wedding planning professionals on the planet. My husband and I were so overwhelmed by wedding planning, and hiring Kay was the best decision we ever made.
We couldn’t verbalize and didn’t know exactly what we wanted in a wedding, but through discussion with Kay and with her talent, she created our dream experience. It’s like Kay reached right into our hearts to create exactly what we wanted. Guests continue to tell us that our wedding reflected us/who we are in all the right ways.
Kaleigh is professional, highly organized, communicative, kind, enthusiastic, and exceptionally talented. Our wedding weekend was truly perfect, and it is 100% due to KNE’s effort and expertise. Our wedding party and family were so grateful for her, especially on the day of. KNE allowed everyone to relax and be truly present, because they took care of every. single. thing. & then some!!
The wedding planning process was easy, successful, and as stressless as possible because we had Kay and the KNE team. I loved our experience with Kay so much that I bought two of my best friends her power planning sessions. Everyone should have a Kay!!

How can I even put into words how absolutely incredible Kay and her team are?!
My wife and I booked a power planning session with Kay in December 2020, shortly after getting engaged. From just that two hour meeting, we learned more about our budget, priorities, and expectations than we had from years of dreaming of our wedding. Kay was so confident and generous in her knowledge, we clicked immediately and as soon as the call ended, we looked and each other and said: "We HAVE to hire her to plan our wedding."
We booked the Consult package with Kay, which provided us with exactly the amount of help we needed. She provided us with monthly meetings, endless email advice, vendor recommendations, and took over all communication and confirmations the month of our wedding.
Planning our wedding alongside Kay are memories we will cherish always. She is as kind and easy to work alongside as she is professional and precise. Her attention to detail and dedication to our wedding vision remained steadfast throughout the 15 months of planning. She answered every question, solved every problem, and anticipated every need with what seemed like effortless ease.
As for the wedding day, her and her team were invaluable assets. My wife and I did not have to worry about a SINGLE detail all day, because we knew KNE had it all covered. She wore about a million hats that day, from designer to therapist to organizer to dress steamer to I'm sure a million other things we weren't privy to because keeping our energy light and happy was her biggest priority.
I could go on forever. My biggest message that I hope is taken away from this review is that wedding planners are not only for the "rich and famous" as the media likes to make it seem. Wedding planners, specifically KNE is an unbelievable investment in your time, happiness, mental load, and more. Hiring KNE was the smartest decision we made and at least twice a week we found ourselves saying, "God, what would we do without Kay?!"
