Wonderful Experience!

I first met Kay when I was a bridesmaid at a friends wedding. She was so accommodating and we had so much fun with her, I knew I wanted her when I had my big day! During our engagement pictures she made us feel so comfortable and truly captured "us" in all of our pictures. My husband to be HATES taking pictures and he was so impressed how efficient she was!! I truly cannot thank her enough and I cannot wait to see our pictures on our big day :)

All-Around Excellent Photographer--Experienced, Professional, Creative, Fun!!!

Kay took some of my favorite portraits ever almost 10 years ago, so I’m so glad I could count on her when it came time for some of the most important photos ever—our wedding photos!

After the wedding is over, the photographs that capture your memories (and moments you may have missed) will be at the top of your most cherished wedding possessions. Choosing a professional, experienced photographer with a sparkling personality helps to capture the best of each moment, and Kay Meyer certainly fits that description! She is amazing at capturing intimate moments and highlights. She also has a fun and creative personality that only helps to enhance the outcome, and our guests even remarked on what a great job she did.

At the end of our wedding, there were not just a few favorites to choose from, but there were so many great photos that we could hardly narrow down favorites from our favorites! Not only did she produce an abundance of excellent photos, but she also had them ready for us in less than a month—not an easy feat during the peak of wedding season!

Today we had our engagement photos taken with Kay and it got my fiancé and me so excited for our actual wedding day. Kay made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera, she listened to what we envisioned for our pictures and went above and beyond to achieve our vision. We even climbed onto a SHRIMP BOAT for some fantastic photos. After we were done my fiancé and I couldn’t stop talking about how much fun we had, how anxious we are to see our pictures and how EXCITED we are for our wedding day. Kay did an amazing job and I can truly say she gained us as clients for life and will continue to be our photographer for exciting life moments beyond just our wedding.

Kay volunteered her time to take photographs of a fashion show that involved models that were breast cancer survivors. The pictures were phenomenal and really captured the love and support of that particular event. She wasn't afraid to find the angles at which were flattering to everyone and she only had a short amount of time to find what worked best. GREAT JOB!!

When I think back on my experience, here is what comes to mind about Kay:
1) Organized: Before our wedding we had a meeting to go over our logistics. We went through the timeline together, while she took notes about our wedding (placing, timing, the who's-who, etc). She knew all the right questions to ask. We had a large and complicated wedding party, but on the big day, she knew everyone's names, and was able to make sure we got every picture we wanted. There is a lot to worry about on the wedding day, and it was such a relief to know that Kay had everything under control on her end.
2) Hard worker: In our meetings leading up to the wedding and on the wedding day, Kay was diligent. When we were doing our photos in the park, Kay actually laid down on the ground in her dress and heels to get the right shots! I was so impressed by her determination to take the best pictures, even if it meant getting dirty!
3) Personable: We also all really enjoyed Kay as a person. Emotions run high during wedding planning, and having someone as kind, compassionate, and funny as Kay was refreshing. She made it clear that she cared about our story, and making sure we got exactly what we wanted on our wedding day.
4) Professional: We were initially unsure about hiring a professional wedding photographer, but after hearing horror stories of people who didn't, we decided we wanted to have the best. And Kay is the best. She was always on time to meetings, she always responded to emails promptly, and she even referred us to our DJ.
5) Gifted: We just got the pictures back this weekend. And I have to say, they are absolutely breathtaking. Going through the album was like reliving our wedding all over again, and Kay captured it all-- from me getting dressed to our exit at the end of the night. Each picture was perfect. I am so very grateful we were lucky enough to get to have Kay for our wedding. I cannot recommend her highly enough! Thank you for everything Kay!

Kay took photos of my family and I for Christmas. We were all impressed with her patience getting us all posed and focused on the camera; especially, considering we had two small dogs in the mix in addition to a small child. I would highly recommend Kay! She was so incredible! I met with her a few days before the wedding to go over everything, and it was so clear that she knows exactly what she's doing and she can navigate any potential wedding issue. On the day of the wedding she was there right on time and she was so calm and organized, it helped me stay calm! She got all of the shots I wanted and more. When it came time to get pictures of the whole family together she was efficient and kind; it didn't take long at all! Aside from her wonderful personality and calming presence, she takes gorgeous pictures. They really capture the love and happiness of the day! She also really makes you feel special, and pays careful attention to you. Again, I would highly recommend her.

Kay Meyer is absolutely amazing. Our first experience with Kay was when she shot our engagement photos. We live out of town, and she was so flexible in working with us to get our photos done when we came home to visit. Obviously, they turned out better than I could have imagined.

For our wedding, Kay was so helpful in coordinating the appropriate timeline for photos prior to the ceremony, after the ceremony, and at the reception site. Kay has a way of making you feel so comfortable, that she gets the shots of you looking natural and not forced. I LOVE candid shots, and she was able to capture those moments that were real and organic.

Every photo Kay took was perfection. If you're looking for a professional, organized, personable, FUN and talented photographer, then Kay is your girl.

Kay is absolutely amazing! I love her! She is so organized and she makes you feel so comfortable and confident for your big day. Not only is her photography absolutely amazing but she is so easy to work with. She really takes the time to listen and get to know your likes and dislikes. I was worried that it would be hard to gather everyone for pictures and to direct everyone for different pictures but Kay works wonders! I didn't have to worry about it at all. I honestly didn't worry about pictures all night because I knew Kay was there and she had it more than covered. She is also very good at blending in and making sure she doesn't get in anyones way. Kay Meyer is Simply the Best there is!
Her work speaks for itself. I knew when I booked Kay that I could trust her to get the quality shots. She is very timely, very responsive, and she brings a sense of structure where she goes. She brings fun and laughter to a very anxious bride and she is wonderful at organizing the mass chaos of family, after the wedding. I really think you get what you pay for with photography. If your pictures are not very important to you then this is the wrong photographer for you because her work is really worth her cost. We only had Kay for 5 hours of our Pre, Ceremony, and Reception. In that time her and her assistant captured over 500 images. She was able to organize my very crazy family and everyone loved her. I am so happy with the quality of the pictures we received and I am going to cherish them for the rest of my life! Thank you Kay!!

Here's the thing about Kay that makes her the perfect wedding photographer: She's on top of it. From our first meeting with her, she was as professional as they come and her flexibility was beyond great. We opted out of traditional bridal portraits and engagement shoot in favor of having her at more events. She shot our engagement party 8 months before the wedding and then our rehearsal dinner and the wedding day. It was great to have time to get comfortable with her.

She's also incredibly responsive. When our images from the engagement party were first burned on a CD, somehow the computer missed a few. Within an hour of notifying her, she uploaded the rest of the images to a website for us to download. She made it all easy.

Her demeanor around our large, loud family was absolutely perfect. She has no problems telling people where to go, how to stand, and what to do without being abrasive or rude.

On top of all of that, the images she created are beautiful. They are truly treasures we will keep forever.

Kay was absolutely wonderful to work with! She is truly gifted at what she does. Before and after our big day, she never hesitated to answer any of our questions or concerns. What really sold us on Kay, other than her obvious, amazing talent, is that she is so experienced. Our wedding day ran so smoothly, and a huge part of that was due to her. She does a phenomenal job of organizing each picture quickly & efficiently, and also catching some superb candid shots. I never once felt stressed about timing or getting a certain picture or pose because I knew Kay was taking care of it. After our wedding, we received our disc of pictures promptly, and she has been great with helping us order prints and designing our wedding book. I don't know of anyone else who could've captured our wedding day as perfectly as she did. I'm absolutely positive Kay will be taking pictures of our family for many years to come.

Kay is amazing and patient and captured our wedding perfectly , she is incredibly talented and love her photography style. Your wedding is not complete without her ! None of your guests need nor should have cameras as she captures the best shots and lots of them.

I am so glad I choose Kay Myers as my photographer. I know when I look back at these pictures years from now with my grandchildren I will remember every moment she captured. Each picture speaks 1000 words.

Kay is absolutely wonderful! She photographed my wedding at Carillon Beach, Florida, in February 2012. The pictures were beautiful and I have had numerous people tell me that the photos are some of the most beautiful wedding pictures that they have ever seen. Kay made my husband and I feel at ease, she went above and beyond what I have ever seen from a wedding photographer (I have been a bridesmaid in too many weddings to count), and she had our photos edited and uploaded for us to view a week and a half after our wedding! It is very difficult to chose a photographer, especially for special events like a wedding, but you can be confident you will have gorgeous wedding pictures that you will cherish for the rest of your life if you choose Kay Meyer Photography to document your wedding.

Kay Meyer did a phenomenal job photographing my daughter's wedding. Her willingness to take all of the requested shots, as well as her creativity in coming up with some really special ones, has given us reminders of a very special day that we will be able to re-live for a lifetime. I don't know how anyone could do a better job.

Thank you .....Thank you .....Thank you .... Kay is fabulous, we could not have hoped for more perfect photographer for our daughters wedding. She was so easy to work with from beginning to end. She captured the exact feel of the day that Laurel and Adam wanted for their wedding. We can't stop looking at the pictures. They immediately transport us back to the day and all joy we felt, from wedding prep through the newlyweds departure. Kay has a great personality which makes it sooo easy to work with. SHe is very quick and takes such pride in her work. Even the groom and groomsmen commented on how smooth their session went. Most of all she aims to please. Would use her again and would highly recommend her for any wedding.

Kay was absolutely fantastic. There are no words to express how happy we are with the wedding photos. One of the (many) pieces of advice that I was given when planning my wedding was to spend money on photography - it is the one thing you can look back on years from now to remember your special day. I am so, so happy that I took their advice and booked Kay for the unlimited package (which includes engagement pictures, rehearsal dinner, and unlimited coverage on the day of the wedding). We have the whole special weekend recorded in such a beautiful way and I love showing off the pictures to everyone. We get nothing but complements from friends, family, other photographers...

As a photographer, Kay is not only talented in the finished product but in her poise and attentiveness while taking pictures. I felt completely at ease and beautiful while Kay was there; she was so funny and fit right in with my crazy bridal party! We had a lot of fun taking pictures and she made me feel calm and excited about the day. She and her assistant knew exactly what to do and captured everything I could have asked for. I am not big on posed photos - as I mentioned before the day in her comprehensive survey - and wanted mostly "in the moment" pics. Kay listened to what I wanted and took fantastic shots of us and our guests.

I live in NYC (I am from Tallahassee), and planning a wedding from afar could have been difficult. Kay was always very responsive via email and accommodating when we only had very limited time in town on one of our whirlwind planning weekends before the wedding. Her turnaround time on getting the pictures to us was VERY fast, and I can't wait to get the beautiful album she has designed for us.

Overall, I highly recommend Kay as a wedding photographer for your special day. She is worth every penny, and more! THANK YOU, Kay, for capturing our wedding in a way no one else could!

As the mother of the bride, it was important to me that the photographer was available to answer my questions promptly, and capture my daughter's special day from beginning to end. Kay was that person. She was so great to work with. She was fun and quickly put everyone in the wedding party at ease. The photos are absolutely gorgeus! Where do I start? Kay's photos perfectly captured the moments of our special day. I cant believe how awesome some of the shots she got, and without me even knowing. Even the posed pictures I typically find boring have a certain flare to them. She is professional, creative, and a blast to work with. She was very attentive before our big day, and completely unabtrusive without missing a beat the day of our wedding. She made us feel as though we were the only ones in the world that day! I am absolutely thrilled that we have these gorgeous memories caught by her right here in our home!

Fabulous! The photos that Kay took of our engagement and wedding are great. She was so patient and her laid back personality put me at ease. She blended in so well and I liked that I barely saw her. Kay was able to capture every emotion I felt that day and you can really feel that emotion in each picture. Even the "must take" posed pictures were very stylish and fun. I will definitely use Kay again and will recommend her to everyone.

Kay Meyer is more than a photographer, she loves her profession and is very talented. From our first meeting, then onto the engagement shoot, wedding dress photos and the whole wedding event, Kay was extremely personable and professional. She spent time with us discussing our needs to make sure she was able to capture everything we dreamed of. Kay made our day stress free with her personality and abilities. She is calm and in control, and most importantly, captured the moments with an artistic eye!
We have continued to use her since then, and would encourage anyone to contact Kay for their photography needs!

The pictures turned out absolutely gorgeous!!!!!! It was great to see so many great moments captured that would have gone unnoticed or forgotten otherwise! Kay did a GREAT job! :) All of our family agreed she was very fun and easy to work with. I have only so far seen the photos online, but I cannot wait to get the prints!

Kay is a great photographer to work with - she is also fun! She takes charge of the session / wedding and gets the shots done. She is keenly aware of the weather and sunrise / sunset and works diligently to use the natural light for beautiful photos. She did both the engagement, rehearsal, and wedding. She was great with the bridal party and guests! Can't wait to see ALL of the final photos!

Kay did a great job capturing our wedding. She was very easy to work with and made us feel relaxed. Our photos are gorgeous. She even helped me make a last minute guest book from our engagement photos when the one I tried to make didn't work out!

Kay did an AMAZING job photographing our wedding and I would recommend her to anyone looking for a photographer!! I have had multiple compliments from various people on our photographer--how friendly she was, how much fun she was to work with, and just how great the pictures turned out. Some look like magazine ads! We truly enjoyed having her there to capture our special day and the pictures speak for themselves! We are SO happy we chose Kay as our photographer!! :)

Overall i was disappointed with how my wedding photos turned out. Kay was very pleasant and nice but the photos looked sloppy :( I still get upset when I look at them. The photos of me with my bridesmaid, family and grooms family are not centered and not straight..... There are no photos of my mom and I which i specifically told her I wanted. Unfortunately I would not recommend her.

I am sad to say the one and only regret I have from my wedding experience is hiring Kay Meyer as our photographer. I seriously doubt there is enough room allotted for this review to explain every reason why I regret my decision, but please feel free to email me if you have questions. Following the wedding experience I wrote this letter to Kay:
Kay,
For the past few weeks I have been vague in my opinions in an attempt to maintain a good relationship with you until the end of our business agreement. My intention at this time is not to upset you, but I believe it is important to let you know how I feel about your performance as the photographer at my wedding.
When I hired you as a professional photographer I believed I was paying for a professional that would take charge of getting the requested photos, use your expertise to take special photos that were not requested, and provide professional, finished photos for my use after the event.
After viewing the proofs I feel this is not what I received. After a full day of multiple photo opportunities I do not have one picture of me and my husband with my entire family or with his, not one picture with my brothers or brother-in-law, and not one picture with my extended family or his. This fact brought my mom to tears as she had made a point to tell you how important those pictures were and even offered to give you a list, to which you replied, “ I don’t need a list, don’t worry about it, that’s my job.” In addition to this, I must say I was extremely surprised and upset to hear the final pictures I was to receive would be unedited. In my opinion, an unedited photo is not a professional photo. After reviewing the contract once again I see editing was not included, but none the less it made me wonder what I had paid $3600 for and also makes me question why I am unable to receive the color copies of the photos if my contract state I will receive all unedited proofs on a CD. My mom is beyond upset about the fact you have apparently deleted the color copies of my photos as she does not like black and white. I like the black and white, but why would you take it upon yourself to deny us the option?
To your credit, many of the pictures are great and will be absolutely beautiful once they are edited, and I loved that you were able to be there without being obtrusive. Unfortunately, we cannot recreate the missing family photos but I would appreciate it more than you know if you would take the time to re-upload the pictures that are in black and white so we have the option of having them in color, specifically the black and white pictures I have saved as my favorites on the website. As for the free 5X7 pictures I would like pictures 187 and 435 both in color, and picture 433 in black and white for the 8X10. I hope you are doing well, and truly wish I did not feel this email was necessary. Please let me know if there is anything you can do.

In addition to the issues I mentioned in the letter, I was also upset with the fact that she didn’t take time to position anyone in the pictures she did take, so all the pictures I have with the wedding party look like a quick snap shot taken by a friend rather than a professional planned picture. I also feel it is important to let you know that nowhere in the packet information I received from Kay does it specifically state the pictures would be unedited, it was disclosed in the contract.
Kay was very apologetic in her reply and found some of the color photos (though many she had already deleted) which I was told would be put on a CD. Kay told me she would call me the following week when everything was ready but I never heard from her. After calling multiple times I finally got an emailed response saying everything was ready for pick up, but when I went to pick everything up (June 17th) the only thing ready was the printed proofs. I was then told she wouldn’t have the additional CD and prints ready for ANOTHER 10 days, with her reason being she “has other clients she has to get orders to on time.“ I’m assuming her comment meant she no longer considered me a client, as she obviously wasn’t worried about getting my order to me on time.
11 days later I still had not heard from her so, again, I emailed her to get an update. She responded that everything would be ready on July 1st (at this point it was 46 days past my wedding). I went to pick up the order and she had printed the wrong pictures. I emailed her, again, on the 1st and did not receive a reply until the 5th stating she had based her photo numbers on the printed proofs (which I did not receive until 7 days after I had placed the order for the prints). She responded to my next email today on July 7th saying she would reprint the photos and email me when they are ready but didn’t tell me when that will be.

Your wedding photographer is by far the most important decision you have to make while planning your wedding. Please consider my experience before hiring Kay Meyer as your photographer.

Update: Kay did finally give me the revised pictures two weeks later. And in regards to Kays comment below - My apology was for having to go upstairs during the wedding while pictures were being taken because I was so hot. And, I was no longer upset when I wrote the review. I waited nearly two months to ensure my review would be less emotional and based entirely on fact, though I admit it is hard to do given the nature of the situation. I too wish her the best.

Brides beware!!!!

I hired Kay a while ago for my wedding. My fiancé and I have to postpone due to unexpected circumstances. When I originally told Kay she told me I would lose my deposit, which I already knew. She told me that she would do a refund for the other amount that I paid her or we could put it to another date. At the time I told her I would wait to decide. Now it's been 2 weeks since I've tried to communicate with her about a refund and no response. She is completely MIA! I've tried emails, phone calls, and messages on Facebook. NOTHING!

After writing reviews about this and also a Facebook post I finally got a response. She told me that it was her policy that if you cancel your wedding with her you forfit all the money you paid her. No where in her contract does it say anything like that, nor did I ever sign anything agreeing to that. This woman is a lied, cheat, and probably spent all the money I paid her and that’s the reason why she won’t pay back what is owed. She is a extremely unprofessional and does a poor job managing her own company! This woman uses her own personal problems as excesses on why she doesn’t respond or get back within a timely manor.

Worst photographer I have ever come across!!! I have never been so taken advantage of!
