  A dream brought to life

  Working with Kate was so easy and she understood my vision completely. I didn’t have many inspo pics, more a description of what I wanted my wedding to feel like and Kate really brought that feeling to life. Mine and my bridal party bouquets were beautiful and when I walked into our reception room I cried at how perfect and romantic the room looked. Kate was really easy to work with and was honest about where and what should I use my budget on. My wedding day was a dream brought to life and that’s a huge part of the wonderful work Kate and her team did!

  Kate & her team are the best!

  Kate was a pleasure to work with - from our initial conversation all the way to wedding day she was professional, sweet, and extremely talented. She listened to my vision and fine-tuned it using her professional judgement, which I appreciated. When I saw the reception room on wedding day I was brought to tears at how beautiful everything came together - it was one-of-a-kind and so overwhelmingly personal. I am so happy we used Katydid and would recommend her to everyone!

  This is the note that I sent to Kate right after my daughter's wedding:
  Dear Kate and Leslie,
  How can I even begin to thank you? The wedding was beyond anything that we could ever have hoped for. It has been an absolute pleasure working with you both. It all began when everyone saw those beautiful bouquets at the church and then the guests collectively gasped when the entered the ballroom at the club! Your talent, creativity, warmth ( lots of support!) was everything to me. How lucky we were to find you! I will send pictures soon… it is a wedding we will all remember with flooded streets the days before the event, but I had a team behind me to ensure that all would be fine! Kate and her team are incredibly talented and seeing the final product on the day of our wedding took our breath away! Kate can see the vision and execute flawlessly!   Best Wedding Planner EVER!

  Kate Duffy was our wedding planner for our daughter’s wedding on June 4, 2021. The wedding was for 200+ guests under the largest tent that Sperry makes on and adjacent to our property on the Jersey shore. There were many vendors involved unlike a wedding at a wedding venue or club where the venue provides everything but the music, the couple and the guests. Kate was excellent at organizing and managing this from start to finish. Her financial estimates matched the final cost perfectly. She had excellent relationships with many vendors giving us many options. With Kate’s help we ended up with an outstanding group of vendors which included one of the top chefs in New Jersey, a spectacular band from New York as well as lighting vendors, the tent company, the lighting and decoration vendor, the furniture and china vendor, transportation. We even had to hire a landscaper to level the property, relocate some 12 foot hedges and provide beautiful floral plantings. The flowers were provided by Kate’s floral company who are excellent in their own right.. They put together a magical wonderland inside the tents. Yes tents, we required one for the cocktail location and one for the reception with covered walkways linking them. To a sense of the scale of this, the caterer brought over 60 people from chef to waiter.What made all this particularly challenging was the fact that the Covid pandemic caused the rescheduling of the wedding three times. That required that Kate get the vendors to roll over their commitment to three different dates. This required close professional relationships and acute management skill. There were many moving parts in this whole project with multiple areas of possible debacles of which there were none. The wedding day itself went off smoothly as Kate had a professional event coordinators on site making sure things kept moving. Kate Duffy is a highly skilled professional with impeccable taste and strong relationships in the area. It was an unforgettable day thanks to Kate Duffy and her amazing assistant Leslie.

  My favorite vendor!

  Kate was the most incredible person to work with. We unfortunately had to postpone our June 2020 wedding due to covid but still had a small ceremony on our original date, followed by a big reception in 2021. Kate did the florals for both days and we couldn’t have been happier with the outcome. She is incredibly talented, unique and creative. She truly brings your vision to life.   Wonderful with every detail!

  Katydid was not only my daughters Florist, she was also out full planner. The attention to every detail was incredible . Our wedding planning was so easy , as Kate handled it all.

  Kate of Katydid was amazing! She completely got my vision and made it happen so beautifully. She’s an incredibly nice woman, and cares about every last detail of your event. I received so many compliments about our flowers! We got married at the Spring Lake Bath & Tennis Club, and she knew the venue inside and out, which was a huge plus as well. She thought of things that wouldn’t have even crossed my mind. For example, she knew how many chavari chairs the venue had, and knew that with my guest count I would end up having a mix of different types of chairs unless I inquired about renting extra. I SO appreciated her attention to detail and having a cohesive look for everything! I trusted her eye so much, I even emailed her when I was trying to pick out a menu for the table!

  Kate and Leslie beyond exceeded all my dreams of what my wedding flowers and decor would look like. I was not very good with putting into words exactly what I wanted, but it was like they just knew. The transformation of my venue ballroom and chapel were absolutely incredible and I can’t thank and recommend them enough!

Not only did Kate COMPLETELY nail my vision, she far exceeded anything I could have ever come up with in my mind. She took all my floral fantasies and made them reality. If you want your floral design at your wedding to be a showstopper, you will hire Kate. From here on out, I will never work with another florist!

  Wow! Beautiful flowers

  Kate was absolutely phenomenal! It was such a pleasure to work with her. From the day my mom and I walked into her shop we could feel she was going to be the right choice.   Katydid flowers did a beautiful job for our wedding at Bonnet Island Estate! From the moment I met Kate she saw my vision and it was truly brought to life on my big day! From the ceremony flowers, to the ballroom, to the personal flowers, everything was exactly what I asked for. She even made a special request happen when she found my beer loving husband hops for his boutineers! I remember being so excited when we got that email! True detail! What was also awesome is that Kate knew the venue so well and was able to suggest ideas to me that otherwise I wouldn’t have thought of. Lastly, she was able to help me fit her work into my budget and made suggestions as to where I could cut back if I needed to. Katydid did a wonderful job!
