Wedding Planner
Hiring Katie Ryan was the best decision we made in planning our daughter's wedding. From the very first moment I spoke with her on the phone, I knew we were in good hands! Katie's warm and professional manner made the planning process seamless. Her unbelieveable attention to detail and creativity were impeccable. She created the wedding we wanted and made it look so easy! Her vendors were excellent, and she had a great relationship with them; you could easily see that they liked her and would do anything for her!
When you work with Katie, you fall in love with her as our family did-we could not have imagined planning the wedding without her or recommending her more.

My now husband and I live in Boston and were looking for help with planning our May 2025 wedding at Rosecliff in Newport. We knew we needed a "day of" coordinator and asked our venue for recommendations, which is how we initially found Katie Ryan Events.
When we spoke with Katie, we knew immediately it would be a great fit. She was warm, approachable, and easy to connect with, all while maintaining a high level of professionalism. When we learned about her virtual planning package, it was a no-brainer. Choosing to work with her was one of the best decisions we made—it truly helped make our day both seamless and special.
The list of ways Katie helped us can go on forever, but it’d be a disservice not to share how much value we got from working with her. She was incredibly detailed, organized, creative, and had endless bits of insightful knowledge and advice to share. She understood our budget & vision, and was able to help us navigate the planning process to have the best day. I am not a creative person, but Katie was able to help my thoughts become a reality, and also had many fantastic ideas/suggestions of her own that we happily incorporated into our day. From her list of recommended vendors and wonderful insights to know what vendors would be the best fit for us, to helping my dad and husband secretly plan a fireworks show, there was nothing she couldn’t help with & no end to the lengths she was willing to go for us.
Looking back, I don’t know how we could have gotten through the wedding weekend without her and her team. They were there every step of the way. I cannot say enough how much we valued working with Katie. There were so many things both day of and throughout that we never would have even thought about. We will miss working with her and will continue to follow along as she makes other couples’ wedding visions come to life!

Katie came highly recommended by several of our friends, all of whom said she was the best in the business, and they were absolutely right. From our very first conversation, we instantly clicked, sharing a long list of mutual connections, but we also had an honest discussion about our budget concerns. Anyone planning a wedding, especially in Newport, RI, knows how quickly costs can add up. Despite knowing we weren’t sure we could afford the full year planning package, Katie generously spent HOURS on the phone with us, guiding us through the complexities of planning a Newport wedding in just nine months. She offered invaluable advice on venues, vendors, and pricing—all before we even hired her. That alone should speak volumes about her kindness and dedication to her clients.
As time went on, we realized we couldn’t imagine our wedding day without Katie. We decided to move forward with her DOC package, and it was the best decision we made. Katie caught several errors made by our event coordinator, fine-tuned the day’s timeline, and facilitated smooth communication with all of our vendors.
Like most weddings, there were a few hiccups on the day, but Katie handled them flawlessly behind the scenes. Her expertise, professionalism, and calm demeanor were everything a bride could hope for. The idea of planning a private home wedding from 400 miles away was stress-inducing to say the least. Thankfully, we found Katie in our search for a wedding planner. Our reference calls told us Katie had an exception ability to interpret a vision and make it a reality... I couldn't describe it better myself. Top and bottom: our wedding was perfect and it was because Katie was at the helm. Her passion and expertise were evident from our first interaction. She navigated the Rhode Island wedding scene like the pro she is, securing top-tier vendors and helping us cut through the BS to make the decisions that really drove the day.
Katie's warmth and humor made the planning process enjoyable, even amidst stressful decisions. She was always responsive, offering solutions and calming our anxieties. We had the most amazing experience with Katie. Trusting her through every step of the process to execute the wedding of our dreams was the best decision we ever made. We worked with Katie for over a year leading up to our wedding day. She was honest, transparent, and a delight to work with as she answered all of our questions to help keep us at ease through the planning process. Katie was incredibly creative and straightforward in helping us create the design we wanted at our family’s home, and helped us figure out how we wanted to incorporate our whole family in the ceremony and events. She took all the stress out of the planning process. Katie always made sure she prioritized our vision, opinions, and thoughts. We worked extremely well together by trusting Katie to make the small and large decisions through the whole process to execute our vision. The vendors that she introduced us to were absolutely amazing and helped to perfectly create our dream day. Katie was also very communicative with members of our family so that everyone was on the same page.
On the day of our wedding, Katie was so thoughtful in making sure our event ran smoothly for us and for all of our guests. Katie also planned a gorgeous welcome party where she connected us with tasty food truck vendors and worked with the venue to create the atmosphere we were going for. BEST day of our lives!
Hiring Katie was the best and most important decision we made in our wedding planning process. We got married on July 15, 2023 and we read all of Katie's reviews before reaching out and I can honestly say that all the amazing things written about her hold true. In the 1.5 years of planning our wedding, Katie was attentive to our every phone call, text, and email. No detail was missed, no question was left unanswered, and our vision was executed to perfection. Some might say my mom and I could be a bit overbearing at times during the planning process (lol), but Katie's patience and grace helped us to stay calm and enjoy the process because she had everything under control for us.
It has been over a month and we are still swooning over how perfect everything was! Her patience, guidance, approachable demeanor, wonderful taste, incredible talents, and knowledge of Newport and the industry are just some of the things that make her the best in the business. Without fail, every vendor meeting started with "Oh, you're working with Katie?! You are in good hands and your day is going to be so smooth and perfect!” - that truly meant everything to us and instilled us with confidence and gratitude for Katie. Katie will treat you like you are her only client even though I knew she had several summer weddings coming up. She truly gives 110% to her clients and we cannot recommend her enough!! We will never be able to express the gratitude we feel for her and her incredible team!
On the wedding day itself, everything was FLAWLESS! Not once did we stop to talk with a vendor, answer a question, or worry about any of the hundreds of jobs or small crises that inevitably happen on wedding days - Katie handled everything! We were able to focus on each other, our guests, our beautiful venue, and we can honestly say we had the best day of our entire lives. -

The most exception and genuine wedding planner!
I had the absolute pleasure of working with the exceptional Katie of Katie Ryan Events for my recent wedding weekend in Newport, Rhode Island. From start to finish, Katie was flexible, responsive, and professional but also incredibly creative with great attention to detail that made our wedding weekend truly unforgettable. On top of that, Katie is friendly, personable, and approachable and her expertise and obvious passion for planning is unmatched. She continually made us feel confident and excited about our wedding weekend!
Katie took the time to understand our preferences (and personalities) and curated this into a vision that reflected both of us perfectly. She then executed this vision to create a wedding weekend beyond what I could have ever imagined. She kept us on track in the planning process with organized timelines and seamlessly connected us and coordinated with all of our vendors. It was very evident that she is well-respected among her network in the industry. She handled the inevitable unforeseen challenges that come with planning a wedding with composure and always had several solutions to every problem that arose along the way. I had no stress knowing that Katie was there to take care of everything!
For our rehearsal dinner and welcome party, she coordinated a walkthrough with the venue and florist and quickly formulated a vision that complemented the space and brought it to life involving a diverse array of potted botanicals and orchids with glowing candles. The outcome was even better than can possibly be described. For our wedding ceremony and reception we had only a vague idea of including summery citrus hues. From there, Katie developed a complete vision from elegant table settings of green fern tablecloths with colorful florals, dangling rattans with hanging florals, and bold pattern dancefloor to smaller details of name cards consisting of real clementines with a printed leaf name tags and color coordinated day of stationary items. Everything was expertly executed and truly breathtaking. When I entered the wedding tent for the first time, I was completely speechless.
Besides her creativity in planning, she seamlessly coordinated our wedding day such that everything ran smoothly. Thanks to her tireless efforts, I was able to enjoy every minute of the wedding weekend with not even the least bit of concern. I even had several members of the wedding party specifically comment on how Katie struck the perfect balance of being assertive/clear while still being incredibly warm and friendly.
Overall, Katie was beyond exceptional. Her passion, creativity, and organization are unmatched. But what truly sets her apart from others is her genuine care for her clients. She goes above and beyond to ensure you are confident and comfortable throughout the process. The perfection of the weekend she planned for us is ineffable and we will be forever grateful! -

The Dream Team
Everyone says that something will go wrong on your wedding day and not to sweat it...nothing will go wrong when you work with Katie and Sarah. We could not have had a more perfect day and didn't have to worry about a single thing. It was amazing how stress free we were considering it was our wedding day - and it was all thanks to them. Katie and Sarah covered every detail plus a whole lot more that we would have never even thought of. We worked primarily with Katie through the design process and the way she made our vision come to life was amazing. The local knowledge, experience and long-term relationships with vendors Katie and Sarah have was invaluable. There is no chance at all we could have pulled off anything even close to the wedding we had without them. And on top of all of that, they're great people! I could not recommend LRE enough. -

Best Decision you will make!
Leila Ryan Events is the best decision you will make when planning your wedding. We hosted our wedding at my parents home, where we had to "build" a venue that had 1000 moving pieces and dozens of vendors. Katie at Leila Ryan thought through and planned every single detail in addition to a Plan B, Plan C and Plan D. From organizing town permits, generators, electricians (not your typical wedding "vendors") to recommending incredible florists, decor rentals, and photographers, Katie and team turned our home into a 5 star wedding venue and gave me, my husband, and our families one of the best day of our lives. Our planning took place during peak covid, and Katie laughed and cried with us as we planned a "new" wedding every time the restrictions changed. Katie was creative with her solutions, like securing every decor and rental piece amongst supply issues even if it meant working with 5x the amount of vendors. No matter what was happening in the world, Katie made it clear she was going to move mountains for our wedding. She advocated on state panels to support the events business and pushed for not only Leila Ryan, but all the local vendors to survive the pandemic. Katie and Sarah are true experts and logistical geniuses, as a type A, NYC Bride, I found tremendous comfort in their opinions and advice throughout the planning process.
When we it came to the week of the wedding, Katie and Sarah were at our house every single day from sun up to sun down taking care of every detail and managing each vendor. At one point, we found Katie in our hydrangea plants trimming branches to make sure it looked perfect. Katie and Sarah allowed me, my husband, and family to enjoy the moment and bask in the excitement of what was to come.
My parents keep saying they felt like a guest at their own home, meaning they didn't have to do a thing the week or weekend of the wedding.
The day of the wedding Katie & Sarah bring fun, calming energy. They handled any bump with ease (like sewing my dress when my bustle broke mid dance floor, or finding a replacement for a key vendor the week of wedding). There are many reasons I want to relive this weekend, but one of the main ones is to work with Leila Ryan Events again.
Leila Ryan Events is the best decision you can make when planning your wedding. They go above and beyond and exceeded this perfectionist Bride's expectations. -

The Dream Came True
My daughter and I had a definite vision for what we wanted her wedding to be and Katie and Sarah helped us achieve it. Being a home wedding there could have been so many challenges to overcome but from our first planning meeting with Katie to the day of the wedding Katie asked us to trust her that all we envisioned would come to fruition. She and Sarah truly delivered. Not only did every detail meet or exceed our expectations but aside from helping my daughter have the exact experience that she had hoped for, on a personal note, it was clear that Katie and Sarah both truly cared about us and it wasn't only about collecting a fee. We will forever look back and have the most amazing memories of a truly perfect wedding. It was beautiful and fun! No mother could ask for more for her daughter. I will forever be grateful that Leila Ryan was able to put together a dream team of vendors for us and that they oversaw every detail to make it truly the most wonderful event. -

Greatest Team & Experience with Leila Ryan Events - 7/24/21
You don’t need to look any further. Katie and Sarah of Leila Ryan Events are the ones you want for your wedding planners. I am the mother of the bride, now with two weddings under my belt, and these ladies are the best in what they do. From the first meeting we had in November, 2019, I knew our daughter Mackenzie and future son in law Ryan connected very well with both ladies. Katie had a wonderful understanding of the wedding day vision Mackenzie and Ryan wanted. Katie was our lead planner and was a godsend, especially dealing with the Covid nightmare we have all experienced the last two years. Katie was extremely detail oriented and reviewed all of our contracts. She provided us with great vendor contacts for bands, florists, officiants, videographers, bakeries, printing, lights, transportation, decorations, furniture, etc. They know these vendors and have a great working relationship with them. They always provided different options in the type of vendors you would choose with different pricing structures. Early April 2020 we realized a large wedding was not going to happen in August 22, 2020. Katie discussed options and provided her professional advice and we all fully agreed to push the wedding out to July 24, 2021. We followed her lead and Katie contacted all the vendors and was able to rebook all the vendors within 48 hours after our decision to change dates. If I didn’t have Katie as our wedding planner, I would have been in a terrible predicament.
All I can say if wedding planning was an Olympic event this summer Katie and Sarah would both have received 2 gold medals. 10 for organization and meticulous attention to every detail. 10 for flawless execution of the wedding. 10 for communication and dealing with vendors and contracts. 10 for creativity and making this wedding day so magical.
I consider Katie more of a friend than just our wedding planner. I highly recommend Katie and Sarah. You will have a wonderful experience working with these ladies creating your perfect wedding day. -

I cannot rave enough about Leila Ryan Events for so many reasons. From the start Katie, who was our main planner, impressed us with her organization, attention to every detail, creativity and passion. We also loved how friendly and personable she is, making my husband & I laugh and immediately feel like we could go to her with any questions or concerns. During what was a heavy year, she kept us uplifted and optimistic while also having informed of what was happening in Rhode Island when it came to Covid restrictions - we currently live in NYC. I was very fortunate to not be as concerned as many other brides because she truly had a solution for everything!
Katie went above and beyond and exceeded my wildest dreams of how beautiful and fun our wedding could be! For every component of the big day, she would settle for no less than perfection. This was shown from her problem solving for all the unexpected turns of Covid to arming us with amazing venders to the creative ideas she made a reality. I felt like I was her only client because of the time she had put into us and how responsive she was.
I cannot thank her enough for guiding us through the postponement of our wedding to nearly a year later than originally planned and preparing us with plans A, B, and C during any drawbacks that occurred - as everyone knows, given the roller coaster of Covid, there had been many. There is no way a wedding half as amazing as what we had would have happened without her.
Throughout the wedding weekend, family, friends, and our bridal party who had the opportunity to meet or interact with Katie could not say enough good things about her. Sarah who jumped in for the full weekend was also amazing! They were the dream team. Every part of the day exceeded my expectations with Katie taking an idea of what I was hoping for and making it magnified. My mom and I both, along with my husband, dad, and in-laws cannot thank her and Sarah enough! We are still reliving all the events and have received so many compliments from our guests.
Also, I cannot forget to mention a huge highlight of the Mac Donald’s late-night snacks Katie put together that was a crowd favorite. The memories of our guests in formal attire in the most beautiful yurt downing a Big Mac will be unforgettable. -

I got engaged at the start of COVID and reached out to LRE among other planners for availability. I got the typical "not available" email response from everyone other than Katie, who even though she was not available on my date, spent over an hour on the phone talking me through the big items, important to-dos, and minimizing my overall stress level. That was the start of our love affair and as fate would have it, the stars aligned and Katie was able to be my full-time planner! That level of care and generosity with Katie's time and expertise was incredibly unique and exactly what to expect when working with Katie and LRE.
Our wedding was a destination wedding in Rhode Island, all planning took place during COVID, and I (the bride) am a bit of a control freak. Combined, that could have resulted in a lot of stress and challenges around wedding planning, but everything was seamless, easy, and fun thanks to LRE.
One very obvious example was when Katie coordinated a busy weekend in Rhode Island with our tasting and meetings with our design and décor vendors and our florist. I truly CANNOT imagine having managed a weekend like that without Katie. Aside from not having to schedule any of those meetings (and dates for that weekend changed multiple times due to COVID issues) there were SO many specific details. From linens to flatware, runners, and which goblets to use for water, among many other items and options, it could have been overwhelming. I am so grateful that Katie was there, knew exactly what would look good and what I liked, showed me the best bang for the budget, and then knew exactly what quantity to order for different table sizes, etc. I didn’t have to worry about any of that stuff and instead got to enjoy every moment of that weekend while getting even more excited for the big day!
Throughout planning Katie was always available and our expert source. She had a thoughtful answer for everything and knew how to placate any concerns (and COVID created a lot of concerns). Between myself, my parents, and my then-fiancé, there were a lot of opinions and perspectives and Katie was always able to help us come to a common ground that we were all really excited about. Katie helped us get our dream team of vendors and then managed all of those relationships, contracts, timing of payments, etc.
When the big day finally came around every moment was flawless! Katie and Sarah were true professionals who kept everything running smoothly and went above and beyond. Katie actually watched our dog the night of our rehearsal dinner and was able to enlist the help of a trustworthy friend the day of the wedding to ensure our dog could be a part of the big day! Sarah had to iron all the men’s suits by hand when the steamer broke. Those are two minor examples, but they show just how much Katie and Sarah care about giving their brides the best wedding experience possible.
I loved every moment of my wedding weekend and I truly cannot imagine anything better. LRE gave me the wedding of my dreams! Everyone was blown away – my husband, my parents, my in-laws, all guests – and we have heard from everyone how our wedding was the best wedding they have ever been to. And also – this dream wedding happened within budget – which further speaks to LRE’s expertise in knowing what matters and where to allocate funds.
Me, my husband and my parents all agree that Katie and LRE were the best investment and money very well-spent to ensure our dream wedding. Thank you so much Katie and Sarah for creating such a magical wedding! I cannot recommend them enough – you will not be disappointed! -

The KEY to a Perfect Wedding
Leila Ryan Events was the key to a perfect wedding. We could not have had such a seamless event without them, especially during 2020. We ran into our fair share of bumps but they never seemed too drastic with LRE on my side. Katie was a very helpful mind and hand leading up to our wedding. Day of, Katie and Sarah went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. I had gone back and forth on if I wanted a planner outside of my wedding venue (they gave us a coordinator but I wouldn’t consider it a personal planner). Adding a planner to my vendor team was the best decision I ever made. My entire family agreed with me after they saw what Leila Ryan Events did for my husband and I October 2020. Long story short, if there are any issues along the way, you will hear the issue and solution in the same sentence when working with Leila Ryan Events.
To begin, I spoke to numerous wedding planners on my search for the right fit. I wanted someone/team who I felt connected to and not just a business transaction. Katie and I connected instantly and she was the person I knew would be amazing for our wedding. We first spoke in July 2019 - covid was not a worry or concern. We had to wait for 2020 to come in order to sign a contract and I was crossing my fingers we would be able to work together. I had signed contracts with most of my vendors prior to July 2019 so we both believed full planner was not the best fit for me and a month of would be most helpful.
Fall of 2019- I got word that the Jazz festival was on the same weekend of our wedding. My wedding venue salesperson told me ‘whatever you do don’t get married during the jazz festival’ then the jazz festival changed their dates and everything fell on our same weekend. In a panic I called Katie to see what I should do. Not only did Katie give me a sense of calm but she helped get a plan together, assured me I did not need to change my entire wedding date and all, and made together we made a plan on how to move forward. (This was before we were able to sign a contract)
As 2020 came around, I was able to officially hire LRE. As 2020 took a turn for the worse and no one in the wedding industry/brides knew what was going on, I felt as comfortable as one could in this situation having Katie and Sarah on my team. Katie and I talked weekly coming up with a best case scenario plan for our wedding. We decided to change our 250 person guest list to a 35 person event held somewhere in Newport on our original date. We would then host a celebration in 2021 with our full guest list. But we wanted to get married in 2020. We made plans for this smaller event then evidently had to make the decision to move our event to October. Third time was a charm. We planned to host an intimate weekend with our closest family, having a ceremony and cocktail hour at our venue then moving into downtown for a private dinner with our family. Leading up to all these changes, Sarah and Katie helped me make decisions on the fly and moved with every punch we were thrown. New information was given on rules and regulations regularly and Katie always kept me in the loop. I was living in Florida and she made sure keep me up to date on what the governor was saying about the wedding industry guidelines.
As our wedding weekend approached, Katie and I met to go over all information. She took over all communications with vendors and i was feeling confident and comfortable leading up to my wedding. I felt I was able to finish up the small details I needed to and not worry about contacting any vendors or answering last minute questions. One day before we were set to travel to Newport from CT, I got a call from Katie. My musician had tested positive for COVID and was unable to come to our event. Luckily, my musician called Katie and before I even knew of the news, Katie had a new musician lined up and ready to be booked with my OK. This was something that if my musician called me personally, I would have had a panic and probably had a CD recording playing music down the isle. I never would have been able to book a musician so quickly two days before the wedding.
Since we were not from Newport, we decided to get our marriage license the weekend of our wedding. Because of COVID, the office was closed when we arrived and we were met with an unpleasant person on the other line of the office. I immediately called Katie, she made some phone calls and was met with tasks that were out of all our control. She went beyond to get us a marriage license but the person was not having it. We all talked and made a plan that was best for us. This was another unfortunate event that would have put a damper on our weekend but because of LRE, we had an hour of panic and then relaxed immediately and now our family laughs about it.
Onto our wedding day! As I was having brunch with the girls and my husband was golfing, Sarah and Katie were running around making sure all was set up and in order. They took all the dresses of girls getting ready with me and the guys outfits to our venue to get them steamed and set for our arrival. My father in law was very impressed he had his shirt steamed for him. When Katie hadn’t heard from our cake baker and her shop was closed, she gave me a call and told me what was going on but once again had a plan before she spoke to me. She had a new order in at another bakery and just needed my choice in flavors. We hung up and I laughed to my mom that something else had gone wrong but not to worry because Katie & Sarah had it covered. It was a big joke among our guests when we arrived to dinner and my original cake was sitting decorated in our flowers. LRE made it happen. At the end of the night I stood with Katie in the corner to chat and looked out at the most perfect scene of our closest family and friends all in one beautifully decorated room together. The entire weekend my whole family was so relaxed and able to enjoy every moment. There was no ‘oh no did we forget —-‘ because I knew Katie and Sarah had it covered. There were multiple times leading up to the weekend where my mom would ask me a question and I would say ‘LRE takes care of that’.

They are superstars in their industry, know Newport like the back of their hand and are two amazing women to work with. After our wedding, every person (almost all 35 attendees made a comment at how extraordinary my planner team was). COVID or not, if I were to do it all over again, LRE would be the first vendor booked and locked in. -

The LRE team was the MVP of our wedding day. The week leading up to the wedding and on our day we didn’t have to think about coordinating little day of details because I completely trusted Katie to take care of everything (she did). All throughout the day, I must have said 100x “who would be doing this if Katie and Sarah weren’t here?” I truly mean that. They are not just behind the scenes, they do EVERYTHING and make sure your day is exactly what you want. No request is to large or small, and most of the time it’s already been done before you even have time to stress about it, They steamed all of our dresses and the men’s tuxedos, cleaned my dress multiple times and bustled my dress for me because that was a nightmare. Even at the moments I felt like an overwhelmed bridezilla, Katie and Sarah never made me feel that way and reminded me that this is my day. When other vendors weren’t meeting the LRE standard of service, they stepped in and handled it. I could go on and on. I can’t recommend Leila Ryan enough!!! I have two sisters (my MOHs) who are currently unmarried but I think they’ve already made deposits for their future weddings...! -

Our best decision ever was hiring Leila Ryan Events for our daughter's wedding!! My daughter and I met with another wedding planner and almost hired her on the spot but we thought it would be rude to not keep our second appointment with LRE. Well thank god we kept it. We instantly fell in love with Katie and Sarah and hired them as our wedding planners. From that first meeting, we knew we were in the best hands and felt such relief. Katie was our primary planner and we started working with her at the one year mark. She was more than amazing and thought of everything. She called, emailed and texted both my daughter and I and never missed a beat. She arranged and was present at every vendor meeting and helped us with every decision we needed to make. We had previously booked many of our vendors prior to meeting her, but Katie helped us with finding our officiant, harpist, invitation designers, hair and make up designers, transportation, and our after party location. All of which were truly amazing. In the weeks prior to the wedding, Katie encouraged us to bring our drop off items to her during our last vendor meetings. We gave her tons of loose items and she organized it all. She made up our amenity baskets, and even picked up more baskets so they would all match. She steamed all the bridesmaids robes in advance. Had breakfast and lunch ordered for the morning of. She just thought of everything. We arrived to Newport on Wednesday for our Friday wedding. Katie and Sarah came to our rental house for one last meeting. They had every detail organized down to the minute. They kept us calm and relaxed because they had everything under control. My husband was so amazed by their organization. He had been a skeptic about needing a wedding planner but "they had him at hello". On Thursday, we did nails and hair which Katie had booked for us while they ran around with all our drop off items. We didn't need to do any of that. Katie and Sarah ran an amazing rehearsal and everyone commented of how organized they were. The day of the wedding, Katie and Sarah were incredible. They are truly Angels. As the girls came in they steamed and hung their dresses. Fed everyone breakfast, made space for hair and make up. Katie even ran back to my house because I forgot the champagne. She kept everyone calm. She helped dress everyone and tie bows and buckle shoes. Sarah went with the guys and got them ready. Every detail was thought of. Sarah immediately handled it and no one really knew anything had happened. The wedding was absolutely perfect. It was a dream come true and we owe it all to Katie and Sarah. And when it's over, they miraculously have all your drop off items returned to you in perfect condition and completely organized. It was the best money I ever spent. They know their business and make you feel like family. We are so sad it's over and miss them already. You should 100 percent hire LRE. You won't be disappointed!!! -

Hands down the best thing we ever did was book the full year package with leila ryan events. The first time meeting with katie and sarah there was an instant connection, they were so easy to talk to and were genuinely so excited to hear about our wedding plans. I knew I loved them from the very start...and we booked them very short after ( THANK GOD!) Katie and Sarah are are truly the best in the business, (which every vendor we booked with often expressed when they would find out they were our planners.) LRE works so hard to make your wedding the best day of your life—Katie and sarah did that and MUCH more for us. There is simply not enough praise in the world that I could give them. I worked directly with katie and she became family by the end. She knew what I wanted sometimes more than myself and made everything come together so perfectly. If my mom or fiancé would ever ask me about a wedding decision, I would always say to them “IDK I need to talk to katie- she will know the answer”, which of course she always did. I could email or text katie whenever and she would always be so quick to answer ‘kand she made every decision and meeting SO MUCH FUN and also productive. Everyone in my bridal party expressed very openly how amazing both katie and sarah were. Most of my wedding party has been in multiple weddings and said how much of a better, stress free day this was compared to to the other weddings they have been in, this was all thanks to them. Katie and Sarah had every minute of the ‘day of’ down to a science and nothing was ever stressful. Katie handles every little detail, came to every vendor meeting, talked me off a ledge and calmed me down whenever I was feeling overwhelmed and made sure my wedding day was COMPLETELY stress free. During the first look the train of my wedding dress got a big mud print on it because the grass had been wet and someone stepped on my dress. This is something that would normally stress me out and upset me, especially on my wedding! Katie looked at me and said its already handled, dont worry about it. I trusted katie with everything and was not worried for a second after she said that, and I knew it would be handled. We finished our first look and by the time we got to the venue katie had called someone to meet at the venue to start getting the stain out. The saint who helped get the stain removed was renee, who helps out katie and sarah out. Renee completely got the mud off before I walked down the aisle and you could NOT even tell that anything had ever happened, the dress looked completely perfect. I could go on and on for days about how much I love both katie and sarah and how above and beyond they go in every situation. They both hold such a special place in my heart and I am so sad that this is all over because I miss talking with them everyday! I truly feel like I have gained life long friends in them both after this process! Leila Ryan Events are hands down the best wedding planners of all time! You wont find anyone more hard working, caring, and knowledgeable about all things weddings. BEST OF THE BEST! We love Leila Ryan Events!!!!

Katie and Sarah made our wedding day completely stress free. There were many moving parts and they ensured that no one in the wedding party had to worry about a single thing and could truly just enjoy the day.
When we first spoke with them we knew we wanted to work with them due to their fun and easy going nature. Even though we had much of the wedding already planned we booked a custom package for day of coordination as well as additional support in the months leading up to the wedding. They were quick to answer any questions and offered great suggestions for ways to make our wedding unique and fun. When the day finally arrived they were on top of making sure everyone's clothing was steamed, accessories in place and timeline was maintained. They were both extremely attentive the entire day and night. We are so appreciative and would highly recommend! -

I have SO many good things to say that I don't even know where to begin. Simply put, hiring LRE (Leila Ryan Events) is hands down the single best decision I made for my entire wedding experience (beside's marrying my hubby!)!! I am still in complete awe of my entire wedding and none of it would have been possible without Katie and Sarah! They are my wedding fairy godmothers and they literally made all our wedding dreams come true!!! It was the best day of our entire lives!! A real-life fairytale!
I went with the “Day-Of Coordination” package, which actually begins 6 weeks prior to the wedding date. I was very cost-conscious, and I’m also a type-A control freak and (naively) thought I could handle all the wedding-planning tasks by myself (lol wrong). My initial goal when I contacted LRE was to have someone there on my wedding day to do all the final behind-the-scenes stuff, so that my wedding party and I could just relax and enjoy my wedding day as if we were all guests. Well LRE certainly did that, and much more!
Katie was my primary contact on a day to day basis, but Sarah was still seamlessly filled in on every detail at all times. They were the perfect mix of professionalism and fun, and I had so much confidence in them from the very first time we spoke on the phone, and it increased exponentially as time went on. It was like I was planning with one of my girlfriends who I really loved talking to, not just someone I hired.
Katie went so far above and beyond the scope of my “Day-Of” package to help me during planning. For nearly a year, she was such a huge comfort and truly calming force when I was stressed beyond belief, which happened often. Any little question or worry I had, she was always one email away, and she responded so quickly and I literally felt so much better every single time I spoke to her. It got to a point where I’d be freaking out over my flowers or candles or whatever detail, and my fiancé would be like, “Can you please just call Katie already, she will make it all better”. And she did. Every. Single. Time.
She kept me sane and kept the wedding planning process happy and exciting for me, rather than stressful and confusing! When I ran into roadblocks, she was able to direct me to amazing vendors who actually fit into my budget. She suggested so many useful tips along the way to save us money without sacrificing the quality of our wedding.
For example, I was really upset because I had consultations with 3 different floral designers I’d found, and each one was pricing me WAY above my budget (like double to triple). I was going to have to rethink my entire floral decor because we just couldn’t afford the quotes we were getting, and I was sooo sad about it. I mentioned it to Katie, and she immediately connected me with one of her floral contacts, who understood my aesthetic perfectly and actually came in under my budget! I am still shocked and so grateful because flowers were such a huge part of my wedding vision and with Katie’s connections I was able to have the flowers I’ve always dreamt of! Another example: I live very far away, and I had all this stuff for my wedding I was so worried about packing when we flew out for our wedding weekend. Katie actually let me mail so many items to her ahead of time, which was a huge relief! When I was frustrated trying to find a band that fit my style, Katie actually saw a band live that we were considering and gave me a recap the next day, which lead to us hiring them and loving their performance at our wedding! When I had a million favor boxes to assemble 2 days before my wedding, Katie and Sarah assembled them for me so I wouldn’t have to worry about one more detail. Whenever I was juggling too many tasks and starting to fall behind, she consistently swept in and helped me get everything back on track. Weeks before my wedding, Katie was already regularly speaking to all of my vendors and had them all in coordination to make our day perfect and my life so much less stressful. I could go on for 20 pages all the incredibly helpful things she did for me!!
On the weekend of our wedding, Katie and Sarah were both there the whole time for us. Starting from 2 days before our wedding, they became the ringleaders of our entire wedding, which I never would have been able to do on my own because I was so nervous. They gave so much guidance at our rehearsal to our entire wedding party, and handed out schedules so everyone would know when, where, and what they needed. They were in the forefront when we needed them, on the sidelines when necessary like Super Bowl coaches during game-time, and somehow they were physically everywhere at the exact same time making sure every single little thing was executed perfectly and on time. When unexpected things inevitably popped up, threatening to mess up our day, they were able to steer everything back on course without anyone ever knowing the difference.
They thought of things that never would have crossed my mind, and magically made things appear before we even realized we needed them. Sarah magically produced a new bowtie for my dad when the one he brought wasn’t working out. Katie pulled foundation out of thin air when my husband got an ugly scratch on his forehead before photos. Full glasses of water and champagne were somehow always within an arms reach. My lipgloss never even had a chance to fade because Katie was always handing me a touchup. They were there to bustle my dress, reattach my veil when someone knocked it out, steam my father’s wrinkly tux, take deep breaths with me when I was so nervous I was shaking. 3 hours before my ceremony they were helping me put last-minute photos in frames that I’d bought that same morning. The good, the bad, the unexpected, and the ugly - they were there helping us through it all like it was no big deal. And always with genuine smiles on their face and an assertive, yet calming demeanor.
My dad was a huge skeptic at first, complaining that he didn’t know why I needed to pay a wedding planner…. And now that he’s experienced it first hand, he has completely changed his mind and sees how necessary it truly was! Our wedding day ended with my dad singing the praises of Katie and Sarah, going on and on about how working with them was the best decision and how he is in complete awe of how amazing and truly invaluable they were to us. They are seriously THE BEST!!
LRE didn’t just “work” for me. They really truly cared about my wedding, me and my husband, and my family. It was so clearly important to them that we were happy and that our day was perfect for us. Katie truly put herself in my shoes during my entire wedding planning process and that has continued, as I’ve still spoken to her multiple times since my wedding day. They are both so incredibly genuine, sweet, smart, funny, and insanely good at what they do. They think 20 steps ahead at all times and will bend over backwards to make sure everything happens seamlessly and perfectly. I’ve honestly never had more confidence in someone I’ve worked with. My only regret is that I didn’t get a bigger package and work with them even earlier on more aspects of my wedding planning experience.
Katie and Sarah - I cannot thank you enough for everything you've done for us. We wouldn't have been able to pull this wedding off without you!!! It truly was the absolute best day of our lives! We are both still on cloud 9 and I think we're going to stay there for a really long time. No words can describe how grateful I am to have found you. You are our wedding angels! I literally don't think I would have made it through without you, and there's absolutely no way our wedding would have been successfully executed without you there helping us along! You are truly invaluable to us. You helped us execute our wedding day flawlessly. My husband Marco and I just got married on December 8th and I am literally speechless for how amazing Katie and Sarah were from day 1. Marco and I had a unique vision for our wedding and without hesitation they took on the challenge and exceeded our expectations through and through. They pulled out all the stops and made sure our wedding went off without a hitch..and it truly did. All night long people were telling us how amazing this event and experience was...they pulled together a dream team for us. We connected with Leila Ryan Events 18 months ago and I can truly say it was the best decision by family and I ever made. They are worth WAY more than what they charge, but as the saying goes, they are worth every penny and then some. Every question before I could ask it, was answered, every hesitation, thought my family and I had, Katie and Sarah were available and there to talk us through it. Their patience is incredible and believe me, it was tested. They were amazing to my family, Marcos family, our guests (day of)...I am literally bowing down to this amazing team and the team of professionals they put together for us. Without their advisement and professionalism, contacts, resources, our day just never would have been the same. I have butterflies thinking back...you guys are amazing and need to hear it!! I woke up on Saturday morning without a worry, a thought, a hesitation for how the day would unfold. I could cry right now just thinking back. Not only because it was my wedding day but how special I always felt when I was in their presence. I HIGHLY recommend working with Leila Ryan Events, there is no way you will be disappointed. Katie and Sarah were such a wonderful asset to us throughout the entire wedding-planning process. We hired Leila Ryan Events as our day-of coordinator team early on during our planning, and it was the best decision we could have made! Katie and Sarah went above and beyond all of our expectations. They helped us when we were struggling with big decisions (going so far as to attend our details meeting with us!), never pushed us into something that wasn’t in our vision or our budget, and made sure we felt as calm as possible going into the big day.
The morning of our wedding, they were there bright and early at both of our pre-wedding locations, ensuring that we were on schedule and that everything went according to plan. If there were any issues during the wedding, we were blissfully unaware. I felt so at ease on our wedding day—I knew Leila Ryan Events had everything under control and understood my vision for how I wanted the day to go.
Both Katie and Sarah are simultaneously the epitome of professional and ultra-approachable. They were my go-to girlfriends I could call/text/email at any time with wedding concerns or questions. They made the daunting task of planning a wedding truly enjoyable. We already miss them!

Jenna Sent on 08/20/2018I chose an unconventional venue that did not have a wedding coordinator. Initially my Type A self said I can do this!! But thank goodness I booked LRE. Despite my being a control freak, they were beyond ESSENTIAL and NECESSARY during this entire weekend,coming through in ways I didn’t know I would need. They anticipated every issue ahead of time and managed to arrange a 15 minute out door wedding ceremony and get my 100 guests under a tent with minutes to spare before the rainfall. I saw them running through the rain moving chairs, making sure the wedding party and guests had everything they absolutely needed.
Katie and Sarah, you were worth every penny and there is no way that day would have gone the way that it did without the two of you!!! Our family is still raving about what amazing jobs you did. Thank you thank you thank you!! -

Katie Ryan was everything we could have asked for. She prides herself on attention to detail and alleviating stress of the bride & groom, something she did extremely well. Katie made sure everything down to the smallest details on the day of the wedding were taken care of and allowed us to truly enjoy the moment. At times during the planning process responses were a little delayed but we understand she had other weddings at the time. Once our wedding was just about a month away she really kicked into overdrive and made sure she was on top of absolutely everything. We were hesitant in the beginning on if we needed a planner or day of event coordinator but after seeing everything come together the way it did we can say without a doubt we made the right choice in hiring Katie. She is truly the best at what she does and loves helping the bride and groom on their special day. We really really appreciate everything she did for us. Katie went above and beyond for our day. She worked behind the scenes to fix any issues that came up. My husband and I did not learn of the fires she put out until after the wedding. For example, our candles did not adhere to the safety standards that our venue required. Katie and her team jumped into action and trimmed what was probably over 100+ candles down to make sure we were compliant. This was such a big part of my tablescape vision and she made it happen. Another example of how she goes above and beyond was showing my photographer our venue before our wedding day. Our photographer had never been to our venue before and Katie gave her a tour the day before our wedding so we can just relax and enjoy our wedding weekend. Katie knows the Newport vendors extremely well and has a great reputation among them. Her recommendations on band, catering, transportation, etc were fantastic. Thank you Katie for bring our wedding vision to life. -

"I initially read so many good reviews about Leila Ryan Events. They'd won awards, and I even spoke to three different references who had nothing but good things to say. This is why I was shocked that I had such an abysmal experience with them.
When we were signing the initial contract, Katie said that the contract states that they'd only start working with brides 1 year out from their wedding date. We were signing them almost 2 years before my wedding, but she then assured me verbally (not in writing) that they usually begin working with brides before the 1 year date. Ok, great… Then the red flags started appearing.
This was still in the summer of 2020, and I knew they were very busy with all the issues COVID brought about. No problem. We took it slow. We scheduled a couple calls. One call Katie was a no-show for. Then before the other, I emailed her shortly before just to double confirm, and she emailed back saying she was at a wedding. Could we push it back over an hour? I wasn't able to do that. So we said we'd regroup later. We mostly stuck to email. My fiance and I had already booked a venue, but then we asked Katie to start getting some of the big-ticket items booked. We got a photographer, which was a great suggestion and came at a great price. So this made us feel better.
I asked her multiple times for any docs on helping me pick out my wedding vision, colors, etc. That way, I could do work behind the scenes while she worked with other, more urgent brides. She never did.
Then I said that needed to book a florist because that was the last most critical vendor for me (we’d so far booked a photographer and band). Once we got this done, I could rest easy, and we’d have plenty of time to do everything else. After much prodding, Katie provided some florists. Each time I’d pick someone I was interested in, she’d say, oh I reached out and they’re booked. I asked if they could please check with a vendor before offering them to me, and they refused. Then, I randomly received an email from Sarah, Katie’s partner, making me aware that many florists have instituted a $10K MINIMUM. I began to panic because that’s a lot more money than I was able to spend on my flowers. I asked to clarify if that meant ALL the florists had done this or perhaps only the expensive ones. After a very confusing back and forth, we set up a call to clear it all up. As soon as my fiancé and I got on the call, Katie and Sarah talked non-stop at us for 15 minutes. They detailed how COVID had hit their industry hard, lots of things were getting more expensive, we need to be realistic, and we need to remember to be “human”. Now, this really irritated me. I’d never once been rude or gotten personal with Katie or Sarah, and now they were both being condescending to us. We told them we needed to do some thinking, and we’d get back to them.
Not long after the call, we got an email from Katie and Sarah saying that they were going to PAUSE all work on our wedding until we got back to them with next steps. That was the last straw. I sent them an email saying that things were not working out, and we wanted to terminate the contract. Per the terms, they could keep the money I’d paid to them to date, and that would be that. I just wanted out.
We then received a several paragraphs-long e-mail (more like rant) from Katie saying how absolutely shocked she was, and that this had “never” happened to her before. Then she insisted that we pay her the next upcoming installment and sign a ‘termination of contract’ (not a thing according to my lawyer), which included a gag order that said we wouldn’t write any poor reviews about them. We declined both requests.
Katie then stated that she would get her lawyer involved. At this point, I was absolutely flabbergasted at the level of unprofessionalism. My lawyer reviewed our contract and informed them via written notice that, per THEIR contract, they weren’t owed any additional payments. Their contract explicitly states that dissolution of contract means they keep what they were given and that’s the end of it.
I found Leila Ryan Events to be litigious and unprofessional and would not recommend them to anyone"
