We first experienced Kate's Travel as guests traveling for a destination wedding and had an awesome experience. Fast forward 6 years, and we found ourselves looking at the possibility of a doing a destination wedding. We spoke with Kate's Travel in addition to a few other Twin Cities-based travel agents. The difference and approach from Kate was crystal clear. For us, customer service was going to be extremely important as 1.) we didn't have a deep desire to really be in the weeds with wedding planning, 2.) we knew we'd have a larger group (60+), 3.) the group would be traveling from all across the US, and 4.) there would most likely still be a shadow of COVID during our wedding and travels.
After outlining our wishlist for the wedding and asking for some guidance, Kate provided a detailed list of resort options across the different locations that we were considering. Kate listened to our pricing guidelines and helped us weigh other important factors that are in her realm of expertise (i.e. flight costs and accessibility, resort event staff, etc.). This ultimately led us to the Hyatt Ziva - Puerto Vallarta.
Kate spoke very highly of Valentina and her team at the Hyatt Ziva. We were provided a warm-intro to the Hyatt team as well as a timeline of due dates over the course of the year and "best practices" associated with invites, lead time, payment flexibility for guests, and more. There was never a doubt that Valentina's team wouldn't take care of us and we knew we had Kate's Travel behind us anytime we needed.
Kate made herself available to us whenever we needed her and made a us a wedding website with all of the travel details and options for guests to easily access to understand exactly how to book their trip with Kate's contact information for support. The planning process was so turnkey, we only had a few phone calls over a 12 month period.
The wedding week was a total success. Valentina and the Hyatt Ziva - PV staff had all event details buttoned up - often overdelivering. From the resort side of things, the Hyatt Ziva was truly unbelievable. From the beautiful private beach, to awesome dining experiences, to the resort staff, we wouldn't have changed one thing about our decision and were grateful that Kate helped us choose this spot. Every single guest had a fantastic trip!
What we didn't find out until everyone was together at the resort was that Kate's Travel had NUMEROUS conversations with our guests. Kate answered questions, managed room requests and adjustments, trip changes and much more. WE HAD NO IDEA that Kate was managing all of this on the back-end. While we were working on wedding details, Kate covered everything guest-related. We are incredibly thankful for this as we were able to focus on the wedding and how we wanted to make it unique to us. It wasn't until we traveled to the wedding that we heard from guests-- over and over-- how much they truly appreciated working with Kate, up until the last minute with flight changes and more. We felt zero stress from destination wedding coordination because Kate has us and our guests completely covered!!
It should seem pretty clear that we would 100% RECOMMEND Kate's Travel to anyone looking to plan a destination wedding or a group vacation. Her service is impeccable and truly separates Kate's Travel from other agencies. -

If you are looking to book a travel agent for your destination wedding I HIGHLY recommend Kate! We had a destination wedding in the Dominican Republic with 82 guests and she was extremely attentive and accommodating throughout the whole process. We started planning our wedding with Kate a year and a half before we got married, she helped us pick the resort and communicated with us regularly throughout the process. Our guests were extremely pleased with how helpful she was with the room booking process and was there to troubleshoot any problems. I would recommend using Kate to anyone and everyone booking a destination wedding!! -

From start to finish, the team at Kate's Travel was professional, attentive, and knowledgeable. They made the entire process of booking travel for our guests completely seamless and stress-free. Whenever we had a question or needed assistance, the team at Kate's Travel was quick to respond and always provided me with clear, helpful information.
We were particularly impressed with their attention to detail and willingness to go above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for our big day. They worked closely with us to ensure that all of our guests arrived on time and that everyone had a comfortable, enjoyable stay in Cancun.

My husband and I didn't stress one bit about getting everything planned in order to attend our friend's destination wedding. Kate's emails and information were so detailed and everything worked out perfectly! I would recommend Kate to anyone. My husband and I were so busy with work and school that we didn't have a lot of time to put into planning this trip. And we didn't have to because Kate took care of everything. We are so grateful for her and we had a wonderful experience!! -

A+ destination wedding planning experience!
We had such a great experience with Kate! When we first contacted her we were open to a destination wedding in multiple locations and had no idea where to begin. She took the time to fully understand what we wanted out of our big day, what we wanted for our guests, what our priorities were, pricing range, etc. and then sent us multiple recommendations in different countries and cities. She helped us narrow our selection down to what would work best for us and walked us through each and every step of getting our wedding finalized with the resort. Kate is extremely communicative, thorough and responsive, which is great during a time that can be super stressful. Once everything was confirmed with the resort, she handled setting up transportation to and from the resort for us and all guests and also sent travel documents, packing lists, travel tips and reminders. We heard from many of our guests that they enjoyed working with Kate and were thoroughly impressed with her helpfulness all around! We couldn't recommend Kate more - she helped make our destination wedding planning process as stress-free as possible! -

It’s undeniable that traveling has changed because of covid. Kate was extremely helpful in ensuring we had all the paperwork and travel documents we needed to successfully and safely travel during these challenging times. Flights, airports, shuttles, and hotels were easy to navigate and book with the help of Kate!! We highly recommend using Kate to book your next adventure, wedding, party, or event because we were actually able to relax and weren’t stressed! It was a wonderful trip and we plan to contact Kate every time now! -

Wedding planning is never easy - planning a destination wedding throughout a pandemic is as challenging as it gets. When I started working with Kate in Feb. 2020 and COVID wasn't even in our vocabulary. Off the bat, she was incredibly helpful in helping my husband and I pick a resort that would check all our destination wedding boxes and answering all our questions. Almost immediately after we set a date, COVID changed the world, however, we set a date for March 2021 and felt like there was no way COVID would be a threat for us then… Fast forward to January 2021 and COVID was very much still an issue. Up until this time Kate had been incredibly helpful in sending informative emails to our group updating everyone on policy and travel guidelines and easing anyone's concerns. As we got closer to the date and guests started to cancel their trips out of fear, my husband and I made the tough choice to postpone our wedding. Kate could not have been more helpful in navigating the logistics of changing our date with the resort and getting all our guests rebooked for December 2021. While we had hoped our second attempt at our wedding would be smoother, Delta and Omicron had other plans. Between last-minute cancelations, changing testing and quarantine requirements, etc., Kate fielded all of our guests' questions and anticipated any concern we would have. Her detailed emails regarding our travel plans made traveling to a foreign country easy for everyone. Additionally, working with a resort in another country can be challenging and when I wasn't getting a response back to my wedding planning questions, Kate stepped in and within two days was reassigned to a new planner who worked with me step by step to bring my vision to life.
Although I doubt she anticipated working with my group for almost 2 years, we could not have asked for a better travel planner to help make our wedding a success. She brought so much peace of mind and made it so easy for everyone to feel comfortable and confident traveling to our wedding.
Look no further and hire Kate! -

Wonderful experience
Kate did a fabulous job of keeping track of several individuals traveling from all around to join the wedding party in Cancun. It was a very memorable trip not to mention the wedding arrangements were well managed. -

Loved Kate!
Kate was super easy to work with and helped make our destination wedding spectacular. She was available for all our 80 of our guests, allowed a payment plan for them, and helped us choose the best resort to fit our budget and vision. All transport was taken care of, and we even received a fancy SUV to take us to/from the airport. We would highly recommend Kate to any couple planning a destination wedding! On top of being organized and knowledgeable, she's also just a super nice person. -

If you are planning a wedding... stop looking and work with Kate! My wife and I had no interest in planning a wedding and Kate took all of our stress and worry away. Kate made sure everything was taken care of and brought up things we didn't even think of. At times we didn't have the best of luck talking with the hotel in Mexico and Kate stepped in and took care of everything!
We would have paid for this service and the best thing was... it was free! Call Kate today! -

We didn’t have any idea how to plan a destination wedding when we started this process. All we knew was that we wanted a small beach wedding in Mexico. Lucky we found Kate through another bride that had posted about her Mexico wedding. Kate was amazing! She helped us narrow down the kind of resort we were looking for and gave us pointers on how to pick the best location for us and our family and friends. She was with us through the entire process and made things very easy. We had a few “challenging” members of our group and Kate handled them well and kept us out of the middle. Our wedding turned out beautifully and we couldn’t have asked for anything better. We were so happy with Kate! -

Incredible trip and couldn't have gone better
I'm writing this review after just getting back from our destination wedding in Cancun and all I can say is Wow! It was perfect and went so smooth thanks to Kate and the team at Azul Cancun Riviera Resort. There is a lot that comes up when planning any wedding but a destination wedding you have even more to plan but Kate helped us every single step of the way. She also helps your guests who will have plenty of their own questions so you don't have to worry about having every answer for all of your guests. From the minute we landed everything went smooth for us and our guests. We got picked up at the airport, smooth transportation to the resort and once we got there we were greeted with a drink and coordinators for the wedding. We never touched a bag the entire way the hotel takes care of everything and you just relax, same for our guests. We had our final wedding meeting the next day and then it was having fun and catching up with friends for a few days before the wedding. The wedding itself was perfect, the sky terrace is huge and the reception was beautifully decorated, the pictures look great but I promise it is incredible in person every guest was blown away. Couldn't have gone smoother and couldn't have been better, just perfect. Book with Kate Breiter and check out Azul Beach Resort Cancun Riviera and you won't regret it, fantastic time going to be hard to ever top this trip. -

Kate was absolutely amazing throughout! As the other reviews have already pointed out, Kate is communicative throughout early planning steps and all the way to (and beyond) the wedding ceremony itself. Furthermore, she serves as support for not only the destination selection and reservation, but also planning decisions, guest coordination, and any wedding couple concerns (of which we had plenty). Her expertise of the destination areas we discussed made our final decision so much easier. Not only would I recommend her to other couples, I've already done so with some of my friends.

Amanda Sent on 05/21/2018I am so glad we found Kate’s Travel to help us plan our destination wedding! I found Kate via some wedding website. I sent one email and we had one call and I knew she was the perfect match for us. I honestly felt like I was chatting with a very close friend. Kate took our must-have list and came back with several resorts to choose from – she included her own personal photos too, which made it a lot easier to pick one of the beautiful locations. Once we selected our resort, Kate was wonderful in answering every crazy question we had. Once our guests started booking, Kate was great with them as well. When we had a minor return transfer issue with Lomas, Kate was super quick to jump in and resolve the issue for our guests.
Our guests commented several times how wonderful Kate was with booking their trip. We ended up with 58 people traveling to Mexico for the wedding, and most of them were first-time international travelers. We had the best wedding planning process and an amazing travel partner with Kate. I would highly recommend anyone planning a destination wedding, or a family trip to use Kate’s Travel. -

We booked a group of 21 people and she helped us and all of our guests with prior planning to the event, helped with our flights and our transportation from the airport shuttle to the resort! She answered our questions/emails very speedy even when she was on vacation! Was super friendly and couldn't have asked for a better Travel agent. This is the second time we have had the opportunity to use Kate's Travel. The first time was when we were guests at a friend's wedding in the Dominican back in 2015. That experience was so positive that when it came to my son's wedding in Mexico last week (Feb 2022) he & his bride reached out to Kate to coordinate it. Kate is great about helping with changes that come up. She explains the details and makes sure to keep the communications coming throughout the lead up to the event. She also sends great tips for the country you're traveling to and gives updates on the current trends for tipping and other details. Having a wedding out of the country during Covid is not easy and the rules are always changing, but Kate was on top of everything & made sure we were all equipped with the details we needed to know, as well as linking us to the forms we needed to have prior to traveling. It was a real relief to know that we were covered. Kate does an excellent job and I highly recommend her to others! -

Kate helped my husband and I decide on (Costa Rica) and plan our honeymoon, and we got to sit back and just enjoy! The trip was amazing and Kate made it very seamless for us between our resort, excursions and what to expect. -
