We recently had the pleasure of working with Karen who captured every moment of our special day with such skill and grace.
Throughout the day, she was able to make everyone feel comfortable and at ease, which resulted in the most beautiful posed and candid photography of us, our friends, and our family. Karen was able to capture not only the big moments but also the small, intimate ones that truly made our day special.
Her skill in natural light photography is top-notch, including when on a day that has snow, rain, sunshine, and a rainbow! The final photos exceeded our expectations and we can't decide which photos to print because we love them all so much!
Thank you so much for capturing these precious memories that my husband and I will cherish for a lifetime! -

We mention every time we look at our wedding photos how grateful we are that we chose Karen to capture our day. Not only are the photos stunning, Karen is also incredibly friendly and fun to work with. She has a way of making everyone feel comfortable in front of the camera, resulting in the most amazing photos. Half the time we forgot photos were even being taken! Karen went out of her way to make everything easy and seamless for us and we are so grateful for her. We got our photos back so quickly and she was so helpful with any questions had while setting up the engagement shoot and wedding day timeline. We will absolutely be working with her again to capture more memories down the road. -

The Most Beautiful Wedding Photos
We LOVED our experience with Karen! I knew we were going to love our wedding photos as soon as I got the photos back from our engagement session. Karen’s photos are super authentic, beautifully lit, minimally posed, and really capture the feeling of the moment. We had a challenging venue in terms of dealing with snow, the cold, and taking pictures in two different spaces (venue and the resort where everyone was staying), but Karen helped us stay on schedule, got all the photos we wanted, and was super quick so that nobody was out in the cold for too long. We will cherish these winter wonderland wedding pictures our entire lives and can’t thank Karen enough! -

Karen was incredible to work with; highly responsive, flexible about meeting online or in person, and continued to work with us even after our wedding was postponed due to COVID. It was easy to plan the day with her because there were so many beautiful galleries to review. On the day, Karen was very calm and very helpful when herding guests into group formations for photos. It was fun for Cameron and I to wander around the property with her taking our couples photos. She caught many special moments which we missed on the day. We are using several of her shots as Christmas gifts to friends and family. We are probably scrolling through our online gallery every other day, reminiscing and laughing. Thank you, thank you Karen! -

Karen was our photographer from engagement photos to the wedding. She listened to what we were envisioning and was able to use her knowledge of the area to find interesting locations for engagement photos. (Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate, but she was flexible in rescheduling!)
For the wedding, she connected with us ahead of time to hear what kinds of photos we wanted to have of the day, and took it from there with very little need to direction. She got photos of everything we wanted including a post ceremony photo shoot of my (now) husband and I.
Her prices were completely reasonable and we got a gallery of several hundred images from the wedding to do with as we wished. (There was an option to download the entire gallery of at least a few gigabytes so we could choose where to have them printed.)
I'd highly recommend Karen! -

The photos turned out so beautiful!! We gave her a list and I’m pretty sure we got everything! I wish we had gotten the golden hour a few minutes earlier but we were all super busy. Also would’ve been nice to get a little bit more direction with posing and all that, sometimes we weren’t sure what to do. But the photos did turn out amazing and I am super happy with them! Karen was also super friendly and responsive! -

Karen photographed our wedding on 11/03/23. I knew from our engagement shoot I would love the photos she would take. AND I DID! She truly has captured the best of every aspect on our day. Everything was just amazing. -

Karen hawley is faaaaaaabulous.
Immediately after we booked our venue (Bridal Veil Lakes), we knew we wanted a photographer who knew the venue well and could handle rain or shine. Karen came recommended and we could not be happier with our choice! We had to postpone our wedding from 2020 to 2021 and she immediately said it wouldn't be a problem. She kept her rates the same and is even giving us a bit of a refund back because we wound up not using her for the number of hours we expected! It wound up raining on our wedding day and the photos are just absolutely stunning. The skies cleared for sunset and the photos of me and my husband dancing as the sun set over the gorge are the best. Moreover, the wedding party photos went quick and seamless and she got most of the photos in one shot. One of my friends is a photographer and was a bit concerned with how quick Karen worked, but my friend has seen the photos and is in awe of them as I am. And I couldn't be happier that we didn't have to hang out in the rain for the photographer to take shot after shot to get a good photo; instead, Karen knew exactly where to take us, where to place us, had fun recommendations, and was a dream to work with. We could not recommend her more (and her prices are REALLY reasonable!) AND! We got our photos online within a week of our wedding, so she works FAST. We could not recommend her more and will be sure to use her in the future for any other professional photo needs. THANKS KAREN. -

Karen was one of our favorite people to work with on our wedding day! She photographed our wedding at The Foundry in Lake Oswego, OR, and all of the photos turned out gorgeous! She was very easy and friendly to work with, her work is stunning, and we received all of our photos within 10 days after the wedding (many even the next day). -

Jill Sent on 08/16/2018I am so glad I heard about Karen and asked her to be my photographer at my wedding! I am someone that doesn't necessarily think I am photogenic and find it awkward posing for pictures. However, with Karen, she made me feel so comfortable and when looking back at my pictures after the wedding, I couldn't believe how many beautiful moments she caught and I thought I looked beautiful in every picture when I didn't think I could! She really knows how to use lighting, angles, and the environment around her to put creativity into every shot. She also did a great job helping me "work the camera" when I myself felt awkward about it. A few more amazing things about Karen...she drove an hour and a half to two hours to be at my wedding; she was prompt and got straight to work while my bridesmaids and I continued to get ready as she quietly snapped pictures; when I asked about certain scenery shots and crazy filters, she was more than willing to try them and do them for me; and my pictures were done and sent so quickly after the wedding! I have nothing negative to say about Karen J Hawley Photography. I would hire her for family pictures, engagement pictures, senior pictures (if I could go back to 12th grade), and any other reason to have pictures taken.

I chose Karen because she had photographed at our venue (Bridal Veil Lakes) before, and because she had the perfect package for us. I am so glad we chose her! She had highlights from our day ready within 24 hours and the rest of our images done in less than two weeks. I've loved every single image and am so impressed with her work. She did a wonderful job of blending in, and got some wonderful candid moments during the reception. I cannot recommend her enough!
