Delicious!
I had a great experience with Kane’s for my wedding. They helped throughout the process. I was able to try a bunch of different items that were all so delicious. Katie did a great job helping me plan and organize the day. They were easy to talk to and well priced for wonderful food and service!! We loved all of our food and they were able to accommodate all gluten free dinner meals to make things easier. They created a dairy free gluten free meal for one of my bridesmaids and the service was great. I loved all the food I ate, and so did my husband. The guests told us how great the food was too. I was really happy with Kane’s and would definitely recommend them! They are a small business and they are so awesome and delicious!! -

Kane's did a marvelous job catering our 25th Gala celebration. The food was delicious - rave reviews from attendees. Staff were efficient, professional and friendly,. We would definitely use them again and would recommend them wholeheartedly to others. -

The food was excellent, we received many compliments on it from our wedding guests. The service was outstanding. Jerry Kane and his staff couldn't have been nicer to work with. They answered my many questions with timeliness and professionalism. -

We were very happy with Kane's Catering. They were easily the most flexible and responsive caterer we met with. Our trial/sample meal was delicious--we had a hard time making selections for the menu because it was all very good. We were honestly more impressed with how friendly they were. We both come from small family businesses and we felt at home working with Kane's. We never felt like they were trying to up charge us and sometimes they even tried to find ways to help us save some money. The catering staff the night of was very nice and were good sports even though they had to cook in the rain. The food was good the night of. We had originally wanted to do family style, which Kane's was very flexible about and excited to do, but when our venue told Kane's that they didn't allow family style, Kane's communicated with us right away and they were very professional about it. We got 200 people through our buffet line in about 15-20 minutes--it was very fast and efficient! In an industry full of people trying to screw you over and charge you more and more, it was so refreshing to work with truly nice, genuine people who deliver great quality of service. -

I highly recommend Kane's Catering. The food was amazing (even better on the wedding day than the tasting!) at a more than reasonable price. The service from first contact to the end of the wedding day was fabulous. The pricing was straightforward and the extras (table clothes, plates, napkins, etc.) were very reasonably priced. Check out Kane's catering! You will not be disappointed. Kane's provides gourmet food and service at budget prices. -

Kane's was fabulous to work with. They were incredibly responsive, reasonably priced, very professional, and the food was delicious.
I received MANY MANY MANY compliments from our guests on the food. Usually as soon as you stamp the word wedding on anything vendors try to up charge everything. Janet and Jerry were very reasonable with me. I greatly appreciate everything they did for us the night of our reception. I will recommend them to anyone in the area!!!

Delicious food!
Love the small family feeling of the company. You don't feel like you're just a number.
Chef is amazing! We have some vegetarian/gluten free guests that we need to take into account in the food that we are going to offer at our wedding and the chef started naming off tons of different choices we could go with! Any other caterer that we had a tasting with couldn't name anything gluten free.
Looking forward to having Kane's Catering cater our wedding in October! -

Kane's catering was wonderful. Janet and Jerry really know their stuff. Their food is extremely good. We had a hard time deciding on what to pick because everything they gave us was very delicious. You won't find better food for the price that they offer. Before the wedding, I had a few people ask if we were using Kanes, when I told them yes, they were very excited and told us that they were very excited because they love Kanes and couldn't wait to eat at the reception. We had many people tell us how delicious their meals were during the reception as well. We ended up with their famous baked chicken, roast beef au jus, herb roasted potato medley, green beans, salad with french & ranch, and rolls. We wouldn't have changed a thing! Don't be discouraged by their tasting location either, the food is wonderful. -

I highly recommend Kanes Catering. Their food was amazing and everyone loved it!!! We ordered Champagne chicken and ham along with their famous Yukon Gold mashed potatoes. All the food was delicious…..in fact our guests went back for seconds and the chicken was completely eaten and there was very little ham left over. The staff working at our wedding were very pleasant and fun to work with. The tables were beautiful and everything we discussed prior to the wedding was done. Kanes also borrowed us their cupcake holders for free and they were perfect for the cupcakes and looked very elegant.
Janet, Thanks for all the time you spent with me on the phone clarifying and answering all my questions. Jerry, Thanks for getting back to me so quickly on some of my other questions through emails and the delicious meal you made for our guests.
It was a pleasure working with Kanes Catering. They helped make the wedding reception a very special day for everyone. Thanks again Janet and Jerry!!

We had a great experience with Kane's. They were really helpful and willing to work with us throughout the whole process. We changed our menu a couple of times, and they we very flexible. We ended up doing buffet style pulled pork and baked chicken with coleslaw, pasta salad, potato salad, corn bread, and fresh fruit. Everything was delicious, and we got so many comments from our guests how much they liked the food, and how different it was from most weddings. We also did appetizers during the room flip and social hour. Overall, we had excellent food, great service, and it was the best value that we could find! We highly recommend Kane's. -

Kane's is the only way to go for wedding catering - they are outstanding for a very reasonable price. Many of our wedding guests complimented us on Kane's food. Janet, Jerry, and the waitresses who were at our wedding were phenomenal to work with and very attentive to making sure everything went smoothly. They were quick to communicate by phone and email, which can be anxiety provoking otherwise. Also, although we had a buffet, Kane's was willing to serve our grandparents and some of our older guests at their seats. Kane's truly goes the extra mile! -

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Kane's Catering. The food itself is delicious--I heard comment after comment from our wedding guests about how good the food was. But beyond the top-notch cuisine, the service here is outstanding. Janet and Jerry are absolutely wonderful to work with. They are quick to respond to phone calls and emails, extremely flexible with timing and details, and just pleasant people overall to work with. Their prices are so competitive, and considering what great quality you get for those prices, they could charge a LOT more than they do. I must have called Janet 5 times with last-minute detail changes, guest additions, and buffet arrangement questions and she not only could answer all my questions immediately, she kept track of every change and specification I asked for. What a privilege to work with people who are determined to deliver a quality product in a beautiful setting! -

We even had to ask them last minute to help us cut our desserts and put them out on the displays (they didn't make our desserts) and they helped us out for no additional charge! Awesome! -

We were so happy with Kane's Catering! Not only were the prices extremely reasonable, but Jerry the chef was incredibly flexible as well. Jerry donated his service as part of a wedding package that my husband and I received for being in the army. Jerry is extremely nice, helpful, goes out of his way, creative ideas, amazing food, down to earth. There is nothing bad we can say about Jerry, the food, or the catering staff. Choosing Kane's for our wedding reception was one of the best choices I could have made. They were friendly, helpful, and very professional. They served tables in a timely fashion, and they returned every phone call and email promptly. They were always very willing to work with our ideas, and to provide suggestions if we needed them. After our tasting with Kane's, we knew they were the one for us. Every guest raved about thier food and we received many compliments of it being the best wedding meal they've ever had. If you're in the st paul area and have not picked your caterer yet, please take time to meet with Kane's, they will not dissapoint you! I would recommend them to everyone! -

Hire Kane's Catering for your wedding! You will not be disappointed. This family owned business, which has been in business for forever, is in business for a reason. They are so professional, easy to work with, friendly, prompt, courteous, tasty, and very affordable. The food tasted *outstanding* and many, many of our guests said it was some of the best "wedding food" or restaurant catered food they had every eaten. I was sad when my wedding was over and I didn't get to work with them any more; that is how much I liked them being a part of my life in the planning up to my wedding day. -

I hope this doesn't appear to be a professionally written review because it is so positive. I rarely write reviews but am doing this because our experience was so amazing. We had nothing but good experience with Jerry and Janet Kane, beginning with our first phone conversation on the 4th of July. I don't think the Kanes ever take a break from work.
I compared estimates with several other caterers in the Twin cities including Prom and D'Amico. Not only did Kane's estimate come in much below the others, but it turned out to be a WONDERFUL meal. Serving staff acted in a professional manner, met all our requests
Don't be turned off by the small and crowded catering building where you will have a taste test - once you eat the food Jerry produces, you will be won over. We choose to upgrade the classic menu and chose an appetizer package. The portions for both were very generous and delicious.
We brought leftovers home on ice, so continued to enjoy Kanes Catering an extra day.
I would recommend Kanes to anyone! Thank you for helping to make our wedding a giant success. -

Thanks to Jerry & Janet at Kane's, we had SUPERB food at our reception. The appetizers during cocktail hour we devoured by our guests & the display of them was gorgeous. We received many compliments on our dinner & I have referred a few friends to them as well. Selecting food made me nervous, but Janet was such a joy to work with & she helped me narrow down my choices. I was always able to reach them & they answered any of my questions right away. On the day of our wedding, everything went seamlessly & I didn't have to worry for even one second about my food because I knew Kane's had it all under control! -

Janet and Jerry Kane, mother and son run one fantastic catering business. Their food was amazing and they were both wonderful to work with. Our guests were raving about the food, and we had some great leftovers for weeks.
They run their business pretty old-school, but they are honest and efficient in their system. Book them, you won't regret it. -

Amazing and very accommodating. They even custom made a couple of ethnic dishes from the Pacific Islands where we are living which tasted authentic even though they had never made them before. Super pleased! -

Kane's Catering was wonderful! All of the food was absolutely delicious. Our guests loved it! We did a pasta buffet (3 types) with herb roasted baby red potatoes, mixed veggies, ceasar salad and garlic breadsticks. All of it was great! The buffet line was setup perfectly and it did not take long at all for everyone to get their food and we had about 180 guests. The presentation was great (tables were setup really nicely) and the food stayed warm the whole time. We also had two appetizers during cocktail hour, bruschetta and chicken skewers. Both were great! They even saved a tray of each for the wedding party when we got there! I thought that was really nice so we got to try everything too. We did BBQ meatballs for a late night appetizer and those were really good too. They give you all of your leftovers. Jerry and Janet were super easy to work with. They had us in for a free tasting and we could bring as many people as we wanted. They were awesome! They're small, family owned and because of that they are super flexible and will basically let you make everything up as you go along. It was great for us because we didn't really want a "conventional" wedding dinner. I would definitely recommend them! -

Kanes did a great job at our wedding! our dinner was outside at a barn with no kitchen for them to use, it didnt slow them down a bit! would recomend them to anyone looking for a great caterer. -

I would highly recommend Kane's Catering to anyone looking for good food at a good price. My wedding guests loved the food (the mashed potatoes, in particular, were a big hit) and there was plenty of it for everyone. We were quite impressed by the level of service provided by the staff at the event- they took extra time arranging the place settings and favors to make the tables look great. The only small hiccup we had was in arranging the menu- be sure to call Janet (don't just email!) with your menu and guest count. When we emailed, we mentioned the number of vegetarians attending but did not confirm this with Janet over the phone, the result being that we did not have any entrees for our vegetarian guests. It was ok in the end because the potatoes, salad, fruit and (complimentary!) bread made a sufficient meal but we would have preferred to have a main dish for them as well. Overall, we were quite pleased with our choice of caterer and would happily hire them again. -

I and my husband both were very pleased with the food that was served and the availabilty of specialized items we wanted to make sure were at the wedding. They did everything possible to make sure we were happy and we were. I highly recommedn them for your wedding needs. -

Kane's Catering was absolutely amazing. My brother is getting married in two years and my father said, "if your brother doesn't use Kane's Catering, he is making a mistake". Wedding food is always difficult with the amount of people, but I received so many compliments about the hors d'oeuvres and entree! It was fabulous! Kane's was a really great caterer for our wedding. They allowed us to choose three different entrees, plus a kids' meal. The food was great!
We were a bit nervous because there was no contract and our receipt came in the mail and was hand-written, but we discovered this method was not disorganization, but just good old fashioned family run business.

Kanes accommodated us very well. They made the food we specifically requested, and served the food how we requested as well. The only issue we had was that Kanes wanted to charge us an extra fee for the bridal party running about 25 minutes behind on schedule for dinner. The contract didnt say if there was going to be a charge for running late. Also, the head and family tables was not served 1st. The food was great! -

I would definitely recommend this caterer. All I had to do was choose the menu selections and pay. Everything else was seemless and the food was quite high quality. I really felt like I got maximum bang for my buck. -

Kane's Catering provides great food at a reasonable price. We searched high and low for caterers and everyone seemed so expensive anywhere from $35-50 per plate. Our budget didn't allow for this, so when we came across Kane's we were very pleased with what they had to offer within our budget. Janet Kane was easy to work with and provided answers to all of my questions. The only disappointment was that one of their servers almost threw away our leftover cake. Luckily this didn't happen and the cake was saved. Even so, I would recommend couples to check out Kane's Catering. -

We used Kane's to cater our wedding. Overall, they did wonderfully and I would definitely recommend them to anyone searching for a caterer for their wedding. Throughout the wedding planning process, they did a great job of being responsive to our questions while retaining a laid-back vibe. Jerry and Janet (the owners) run a family business and as such, were able to be flexible to our needs. The day of, the catering staff did a great job with set up and presentation. We did a buffet, and the food was good, although the first people to get food (the head table) had luke-warm food.Their price was unbeatable by any other caterer, so I was not at all disappointed.
Some of the things I liked best about them was that they had a very reasonable price, did not add in "extra" charges such as a cake cutting fee, and were easy to work with.
The only thing I wish had gone differently was that I had asked Kane's the weed before if they needed a name or a number for a "point person" to connect with throughout the night if they had any questions. They said they did not, but then I had staff coming up to me during the night to ask me questions several times. I'm glad they asked (as they were questions that needed answers!), but I wish they had taken me up on my offer to connect with someone else so I was not pulled away from the other guests. -

Solid Hot Wedding Food
They provided solid wedding food. It wasn’t anything exciting but no wedding food is. The price was definitely right and the food was served hot which received quite a few compliments from our guests. -

I just attended a reception and I did not find the food acceptable. The pork was dry and flavorless. The mixed vegetables were cold, sloppy, and poorly cut. I found several stems in them. The bread was stale and probably day old. The buns were small and crushed. The mixed bread basket contained mostly rye raisin bread! Who eats that....3 people out of 300? They didn't serve all of the appetizers even though people were asking others where the appetizers came from. On a positive note, the beef tips were delicious and went well with the cheddar mashed potatoes. I would only rate this catering service as average. -
