Jacob was amazing from the time we inquired about his service to the day of our wedding. He really helped us create our special day! Jacob was very professional and friendly. He accommodated quickly to weather conditions and helped us adjust to changes the day of. He made sure there was music for everyone to enjoy and kept our family and friends on the dance floor the whole time. The guest loved him and he interacted with our guest on and off the dance floor. I really appreciated his talents and kindness and would recommend him for any and every event! If you want a DJ who will do his job and make sure everyone is having fun Jacob is the one for you.

Extremely Professional Music Maestro
Jacob was outstanding! Exceptionally well organized and very easy to work with. From the planning stage all the way through the end he was always prepared and very flexible. His pricing was ideal for us, but much more would have still been worth it. I received many, many compliments on how perfect the music was. When some of the plans fell apart, i.e. couple intro and brother danced, he was able to seamlessly pivot, make recommendations and implement the change. He is also one of the kindest people I have ever worked with. Thank you!!!

The best dj ever!
As a wedding coordinator and former bride, no one and I mean NO ONE tops Jakob! The best all around in every way. The first time I ever met Jakob 2 years ago, I told him he'd be my wedding DJ. I had just never seen a DJ as good as him! He brings all the energy and you will NOT be dissapointed. He is so organized, communitive and makes you feel so prepared. This event was for my company's annual sales summit. We started the evening with a little happy hour and by the end of the night Jacob had everyone on the dance floor! Communication from the beginning to the end was amazing! I was dreading the phone interview, but after it took place I couldn't wait to meet Jacob. First Day of the Heatwave! It was HOT!
Kalu Records and Entertainment was the DJ company for our daughter's wedding on June 21, 2025. It was the first day of the heat wave in a barn that did not have climate control. Jacob, our DJ, did not let up on the fun, energy, and greatness of the day. We partied like it was 70 degrees. We also used Kalu Records for our photo booth and up-lights. It was fun and an added way for our guest to show their love for the couple. Recommend 1000%. Reasonably priced and was very willing to work with the bride and groom's playlist. Would definitely use again for events needing a DJ or photobooth.

Jacob worked well with us on our oddly specific playlist requests. He jammed out with us to our songs that would make most people cringe, highlighting that he was there to make our night special. Only drawback was he mispronounced our last name as he announced our entry, but I honestly don’t fault him for that because my last name is pretty difficult haha. Even on the phone he was so much more professional and polite than other DJs we talked to. Definitely would recommend.

We honestly can’t say enough good things about Jacob—he was the perfect DJ for our wedding. From start to finish, he absolutely nailed the vibe. Best DJ - everything we had hoped for our daughters wedding!
DJ Kalu was amazing!! He kept the dance floor going the entire evening. He interacted with our guests, but did not "take over" the dance floor. Everyone raved about his songs choices and the mix of the songs. I would 100% hire him again! He was wonderful to work with and so friendly. Other DJ's we interviewed were very sales oriented, and we did not experience that at all in our interview with him. He takes a photo with the bride and groom and we loved that personalization.

Jacob was hands down the best person we could hire for our wedding! We selected his ultimate package so we had music for the ceremony + reception, uplighting, and the Photo Booth. From booking through the wedding Jacob was amazing! His pre-wedding planning helped us make sure we had thought through music and timeline for the whole day. We were able to walk through the run of show from start to finish and Jacob was able to make sure everything ran smoothly and that everyone had a great time! We created playlists for different parts of the wedding (ceremony, dinner, reception, etc.) to give a “vibe” of what we were going for. Jacob so perfectly got the vibe we were going for and added extra songs and his own touch throughout the day. Jacob worked hand-in-hand with our coordinator and seamlessly transitioned to all of the different parts of our wedding. Jacob made sure everyone had a great time! He kept the dance floor full and was able to work off the cues of the guests. Throughout the whole night everyone kept telling us how amazing Jacob was and asking for his information. The uplighting helped set the mood and was so fun while on the dance floor. The Photo Booth was probably everyone’s favorite part of the night! We got a copy of all of the photos and they were so fun to look back on. I truly can’t say enough good things about Jacob and could not recommend him more! If you want someone who is going to help you curate the music to fit your day perfectly and to help seamlessly coordinate the flow of the night and someone who is going to ensure everyone has the best night, Jacob is your guy!

Wedding without power
Jacob Kalu is an excellent, highly professional wedding DJ. In the lead-up to our day, his consultations and forms made it really easy for us to communicate the exact vibe we were looking for and to consider factors we hadn't thought about yet.
The wedding itself ended up being turned on its head by Hurricane Helene. The venue had no power and the outdoor space we were planning on having our ceremony in was unusable. Nevertheless, Mr Kalu was well prepared and highly flexible given the circumstances. He was able to run our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception even in a blacked-out venue.
We are very thankful we went with Kalu Records and Entertainment, and that we had Jacob there for us going above and beyond to make our wedding work.

A Dream Come True!
If you're looking for a DJ who is talented, reliable, and truly cares about making your event special, look no further than Kalu Records. They helped make our daughter's wedding day absolutely perfect, and we are so grateful for their outstanding services.
Jacob and his team are truly professional, responsive and accommodating. Our wedding was held outdoors at our home and despite challenges for set-up, they took necessary steps to ensure there would be no problems during the event by coming out weeks before to devise a plan that would work. Then, came early on the day of for set-up and sound check.
The music selections were on point. Not only did Jacob work with us on specific songs they added a variety to accommodate everyone's preferences, and also added lighting for a magical touch. Jacob engaged the crowd and the dance floor was packed all night.

Our wedding wouldn’t have been the same without DJ Kalu
We had so much fun at our wedding that Jacob Kalu DJ’d at! We had so many guests on the dance floor! We had envisioned a huge crowd on the dance floor and everyone dancing their hearts out! Our visions came to life because of Jacob! The only thing we would change about our special day is booking Jacob for 5 hours rather than 4! Our guests absolutely loved him and were sad to see him leave! He was so so flexible with us, we changed our first dance song 5 minutes before we walked into our reception. We would 1000% recommend DJ Kalu!!

Jacob is awesome
Even though Larkin's decided to shut down our event early and destroy her wedding reception, Jacob was great! He kept the dance floor going (even though it was 90+ degrees in the building).
I would recommend him highly but cannot recommend Larkin's for ANYTHING.

PERFECT DJ for a BLAST at your reception
Jacob Kalu (DJ) is so easy to work with and very detail oriented which helped me feel very secure about how the ceremony and reception would go. I filled out his questioneer and was unsure at the time about some songs I wanted to use. I emailed them to him later on sporadically and he was so easy to work with! We met in person, and then again as a follow up to ensure he had all the songs, reception events, and timing correct so that I felt comfortable with the flow and did not have to worry about a thing. The day of the wedding, he did such a great job hyping up the guests at the reception and just being a very fun and upbeat presence. With great equipment, sound system, and photobooth options, Kalu records is the PERFECT choice for a laid-back wedding or even formal wedding. Highly, highly recommend.

Best Reception Ever
My husband and I knew Jacob would be great from the start. We hired him early in our process, but he still checked up on us periodically. I like how he sends out a survey to get info on when and where the ceremony/reception is and our music tastes. He is very flexible for multicultural experiences (my husband is Egyptian and provided him with an Arabic playlist). He is great at reading the crowd because we wanted an even split of American and Arabic music, but people only got up and danced to Arabic music. So he did everything in his power to keep the party going. He also is just a very sweet guy, and it is always nice to work with good people.

Catered to us and went above our asks
My husband and I would def recommend Kalu Records. & Entertainment. He was extremely responsive, kind, flexible, and positive too (which helped our stresses tremendously). Plus, he is professional in what he does. We had our deposit and our contract done about 6 months in advance for the wedding but he was on time and held phone consultations with us the week of our wedding. We ended up using him for our ceremony music since our wedding was outside and then he was used inside for an appetizer hour/reception. He also brought the photo booth for a few hours for the reception. DEFINITELY RENT THIS OUR GUESTS LOVEEEEED IT. We were able to book him for everything because he helped customize one of his packages to fit our needs. On the day of our wedding, we were like an hour behind schedule and he went with the program and made his services fit our needs that evening. BIG RECOMMEND KALU FOR THAT REASON ALONE. Some of our guests said they will even be using him for their services soon. Our catering and DJ were the two things we had lots of positive feedback on from our guests. Overall, just great. Please book Kalu.

Jacob gave us a personalized experience, pronounced everyone’s name correctly, and he knew exactly when to play each song. He is genuinely so kind and easy to work with. Life Saver!
DJ Kalu truly saved our reception. Our DJ was a no-show and luckily our videographer knew this amazing DJ and he was there by the time the cocktail hour began! He kept the party going all night, didn’t miss a beat with our song list (even though he had never seen it until we handed it to him) and followed the flow of our wedding PERFECTLY. His songs flowed perfectly from one to the next and it kept us dancing all night! I would recommend DJ Kalu to anyone and everyone getting married! DJ Jacob Kalu was one of our favorite vendors! He was so kind, professional, and flexible especially with our wedding changes due to Covid-19. He was always quick to respond, eager to help, and made our wedding flow as seamlessly as possible. He also has a really nice voice and friendly personality (as in: friendly, and very professional and classy at the same time. Not a DJ you need to worry about hogging the microphone) which made our experience with him as our DJ as one we would want for anyone!
His ability to adapt shows his experience and level of expertise.
And his process/questionnaire for playing the right songs at the right times is really in-depth and kept him right on track and organized. (Hint: It's never too early to start thinking of those songs you want to be played.) His pricing was great and fit our budget, his work is truly a great investment and value. Kalu was phenomenal! He really worked with me and even though I was all over the place. He was flexible and let me change things day of. Everything about the night was perfect and he was massive part of it!! Everyone had so much h fun on the dance floor and the photo booth was a hit. The guest book I got from the photo booth, I’ll treasure forever!! Would definitely recommend!!

Excellent DJ/MC
He was a great DJ/MC. Read the room really well. Kept the guest engaged and entertained. Was able to blend really diverse music together being that each side was of different cultures. Cant go wrong booking him.

I highly recommend! DJ Kalu was phenomenal. Not only did he keep his promise by following everything listed on the contract, but he went OVER and BEYOND. I had a special request for our reception entrance song that required a lot of thought, mixing, and time. He fulfilled that request and even allowed me to sample it before the wedding. Very very professional and knows how to keep the crowd going! I highly suggest. 🖤

Jacob did an amazing job with our wedding ceremony and reception!!!! My wife and I were just blown away!!!! Our guest, who normally would just sit and watch other people, got up themselves when Jacob starting playing and I mean they was shaken my there groove thangs to the beat. Jacob not only entertained us and kept the party bumping, he was very professional when it came to the business side of things. This man is worth every penny and his prices are more than fair. My number one pick for our next event.

Jacob was very open to our song requests and was great finding them & working them into our wedding. He also worked within our budget! Our wedding night, he had the whole wedding crowd having fun - he even joined in and danced with them! It was a night to remember for sure!
