Beautiful venue with great owner
Kalero Vineyard was a gorgeous place (with great wine!) to host both our wedding ceremony and reception. The owner, Ann, is incredibly hospitable. From our first tasting before booking to the final shuttle leaving on our wedding night, she was reliably attentive and accommodating. I can't wait to go back for a tasting event! After an exhaustive search, we decided that Kalero Vineyard was the perfect place for us to host our wedding in the fall of 2022. Nestled in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, Kalero offered a beautiful working vineyard with gorgeous views for our outdoor ceremony, several outdoor patios for our cocktail hour, and a spacious and rustic barn for our reception. Just an hour from Washington, DC, it was the perfect distance for our in-town friends to attend while being well removed from any semblance of city life. Our out-of-town guests had many options to choose from with Dulles Airport a short 30 minute drive away. We could not have asked for a better location or a more pleasant experience.
But also very important to our decision to choose Kalero was the way we felt when we were there. Ann was warm, welcoming, interested in us, and, unlike most of the other wedding venues we visited, we felt as if we were joining a family, not enveloped in some corporate wedding machine. As a gay couple, we appreciated seeing the venue feature other non-traditional couples on their website, which made us feel welcome and at ease even before stepping foot on the property.
Our heartfelt thanks to Ann and Natalie for their help throughout the entire process. We absolutely made the right decision in choosing Kalero Vineyard, and will never forget all the amazing memories that were made there!

As a wedding planner, I love being able to work with a venue that is accommodating, friendly, and welcoming to our staff as well as our couples. Kalero is everything of the sort! Ann and her team were super lovely to work with and I would absolutely recommend them to any of our couples looking for a a venue with a rustic, romantic, vineyard feel! -

We felt lucky to get a date for our wedding at Kalero: The scenery is gorgeous, the venue barn was perfect inside and out with flawless indoor and patio space for the various parts of our wedding (and with a great history to the place). Ann was responsive and kind and clearly experienced with a wide variety of weddings and worked flawlessly with our vendors (and has a great preferred vendors list for whatever you might need) and always gave us great advice when we had questions. My husband and I are so grateful to have met Ann and her beautiful venue. We had to do a crazy last minute venue switch but we are so happy it happened … because I wouldn’t have wanted my wedding anywhere else. Let me start by saying Ann is a wonderful person. She is so kind and EXTREMELY flexible. Not to mention, her venue is GORGEOUS. The scenery is amazing and the inside is so beautiful. Our guests were blown away by how beautiful the venue was.

I can't say enough about the owner, Ann, and my coordinator, Amy, that helped me with my wedding. They were both extremely helpful and attentive with everything taking away so much stress about the day. Kalero is an incredibly beautiful and unique venue. Between the mountain backdrop, the ceremony site, the barn and the vines themselves, you and your guests will continuously drop your jaws no matter where you look. We also mainly used the vendors on Kalero's preferred vendors list and they were also incredible. I have nothing but good things to say about the entire day all together. Amazing venue at affordable price with stunning view
This place is amazing and i am so glad we found this gem. The view is breathtaking and the venue itself is amazing. We could not be more happy with the venue and the owner Ann, she was down to earth and very hands on in making sure your day is picture perfect. When we sat down and talked with the owner we knew right then it was the place for us to have our wedding. You see me and my partner have been together 17 years and us finally being married was a big deal for us and Ann made it that much special for us. She knew our story and journey and how much we loved each other. I’m still in love with Kalero and wished i was closer to the venue as i would go out there to see it as much as i could as it is that beautiful. If your looking for an amazing venue i suggest you take a look at Kalero you will not be disappointed. Pictures really does not capture the magic when your there and everything is put together for your special day. You will be glad you got married there. All of our guests were loving this place as much as we were

We searched and searched and searched for a wedding venue. Finally, we decided to hire a planner who introduced us to Ann and Kalero. We were blown away by Ann’s warmth and Kalero’s beauty. The vineyard and mountain views are breathtaking. The Heartstone Barn, with its original stonework, has so much history. Ann’s choice of a rustic, but tasteful decor adds the perfect touch. Like many couples, we had to postpone due to COVID and Ann was nothing but flexible, accommodating and supportive throughout the entire process. She was super responsive to our many questions and even met with us on-site on multiple occasions to help keep our COVID-related worries at bay as we were forced to re-envision our big day. We didn’t see Ann much on our wedding day, but she was there working her magic in the background and making sure everything ran smoothly. The guests were amazed by the venue's beauty and character and couldn’t believe how we got so lucky. We 100% wish we could get married all over again because of our perfect experience with Ann and Kalero!Kalero Vineyard's reply:

Kalero was a surprise find for us but ended up being the most perfect venue we could have asked for. The beautifully renovated barn and its covered areas provided great spaces for our reception and cocktail hours and the view for our outdoor ceremony was incredible! The variety of settings allowed us to take great pictures in the vines, with the barn, with mountains in the background and lovely old trees. Ann is also incredible to work with and helped us at every step of the way. She bent over backwards to make things easy for us when covid forced us to replan and move our wedding and was there to work with us for the walk through and day of. We could not have asked for a better setting or a better person to work with!Kalero Vineyard's reply:

I can not say enough about the owner Ann!! She is a pleasure to deal with. With all the pandemic stuff going on. She was more then welcoming and made the venue accommodating for us. My daughter couldn’t have been happier with her experience at the venue and also the views and excellent areas for pictures. Ann was there the whole time but you wouldn’t have even noticed her as she was working hard to make everything perfect for my daughter. I have been to many weddings in the Purcellville area. This is was by far the best venue around and owner. That is including my own venue where I was married. Thank you Ann for making my disgusts wedding beautiful and special. I happened upon Kalero Vineyard during a wedding vendor fair pre-COVID. I had walked in with zero expectations but as soon as I stepped foot into the venue I knew I needed to get married there. Everything my husband and I ever imagined in a wedding venue came to life at the heart stone barn. More importantly, Ann is an absolute dream to work with! She is so professional, supportive, and flexible. She made sure every step of our wedding planning was as seamless as could be, even as we tried to plan during a global pandemic. With Kalero Vineyard being the only venue my now-husband found and contacted (versus my 20+), it’s only fitting that it was a clear choice from the moment we arrived; he loves to hold onto that too! Purcellville, VA is a sweet little town outside the city, and if having an event in the Fall, the drive is stunning on a beautiful day. The owner Ann is so amazing and accommodating as well, it was an absolute pleasure working with her. Many of our wedding guests pulled us aside and asked where we found such a gorgeous venue, not to mention being blown-away by the mountain views. We also took beautiful pictures walking through the grape vines, against the silo, sitting along the rock wall with the mountain backdrop, in the fields with the full moon behind us; there’s so many options! It truly was the perfect venue for us - rustic and sweet, not too big or small, with so much charm, something a lot of the newly built barns lacked. There is also a Plan A, B, and C to accommodate a wedding in any weather (we lucked into a gorgeous Plan A!), fire pits, and heating/AC; another big factor we found a lot of older barns lacked. It truly was the best of everything! I would highly recommend Kalero Vineyard and Ann for your wedding/event needs. Side note: pay attention to her recommended vendor list – I booked all my main vendors ((DJ, Catering/Coordination, and Photography) from that list and truly feel like I ended up with a dream team. Ann is the BEST. Planning a wedding is enough work as it is, let alone planning a wedding during Covid. It was so wonderful to have someone as flexible and accommodating as Ann during such unpredictable times. Ann made a few positive outdoor changes that only work toward the couple’s favor. Venues can be quite pricey in Loudoun County so Kalero really is a hidden gem. It is such a beautiful space and the lofted area with a bathroom was such a fun spot to get ready in! 10/10 would recommend!!Kalero Vineyard's reply:

This venue is breathtaking. There is plenty of outdoor space and the interior remodel is stunning. It was everything we could have asked for. The rustic chic interior is like a blank canvas; tables and chairs can be organized to suit your particular "vision" and we loved the two second floor mezzanine type areas for other purposes (e.g., kid's area, DJ/dancing). The Ig page for the venue shows how versatile the space is, and how beautiful all the end results are. My husband and I really appreciated the management style of Ann as well; responsive, compassionate, and just well-intended. A must-see for a dream day!Kalero Vineyard's reply:

We had our wedding at Kalero at the end of October 2019. Choosing Kalero Vineyard as our venue was by far the best decision we made throughout the entire process. We toured so many venues in Loudoun County, but the minute we stepped foot onto Kalero, I knew it was the one. Something about it just tugged at my heart strings, and every single one of our guests said the same thing. They were truly blown away by not only the venue/barn itself, but the gorgeous scenery that surrounded it. We got so many compliments on how much everyone loved it.
We had about 120 guests and with the floor plan we came up with, it worked out perfectly! It made for an intimate setting and plenty of room for an awesome dance party, which was exactly what we envisioned. The mountains in the background, the string lighting on the stone patio, the fire pits, the big barn doors, the rustic beams in the barn, the covered deck, the lofts in the barn - all make Kalero so special. I really could go on and on. On our wedding day, we got to step into the barn for the first time just the two of us before guests entered...I can't even begin to describe how beautiful everything came together with the farm tables, candles, and decorations.
Ann, the owner, was also an absolute joy to work with! She was always responsive, kind, and flexible. I had specific ideas for the floor plan that hadn't been done before and she was so open-minded and flexible with me. We all worked together as a team to make everything work! She did everything she could to make sure our day ran smoothly and that everything went as planned - which it did :) It truly was the wedding of our dreams. Kalero was the perfect venue for us. We loved how it provided the rustic charm with a great view and ut also provided the amenities that other rustic venues lacked. We got married in late September and even with a 90+ degrees the barn was very cool and comfortable. We loved how they provided tables for us to use so we did not need to rent a lot of tables. Have a few spaces for guest to hang-out inside and outside was great as well. We had the ceremony onsite next to the grain silo and that worked well. The owner was easy to work with and responsive in our questions throughout the planning process. She provided us with vendor recommendations as well. Kalero was the perfect backdrop for our dream wedding this past October! We had 75 guests and it fit us perfectly with plenty of room to dance. Ann (the owner) went above and beyond to ensure our wedding went off without a hitch! Classy site, Friendly, professional staff
Kalero is gorgeous and classy! But the thing that makes this place different from all the rest is that the owner (Ann) takes such care in everything she does and made sure that our day went just as we wanted it to. My entertainment company Xen Live recently provided live music and DJ service at Kalero on 9/21/2019. This one of the best venues in Loudon county and is absolutely beautiful. I worked closely with Ann the owner and Ashly the planner from B.Mingled. All three of us worked very hard to ensure the couple and guests were satisfied. The best part of the venue is the barn interior and the stunning rural country views of the Northern Virginia. We had a great time and Ann and Ashly were a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend Kalero if you are looking for a stunning and elegant rural barn setting for your special day.

From the first meeting, Ann treated us like we were important to her. She treated us like family really. The venue she has created is a very special place. The inside of the renovated barn is perfect!! I loved every moment of planning this wedding. The wedding coordinator Amy Thunell was absolutely amazing. Ann and Amy are friends, and wow, do they make a great pair. One of the suggested Celebrants, Donna Ruland, really made our ceremony more beautiful. She looked great, was sincere, smiled, spoke clearly and led the ceremony perfectly. Ann truly made everything easy for us. She and Amy made our special day a truly wonderful experience. -

Kalero was the perfect venue for our dream wedding. Gorgeous location, including a sprawling property as well as the barn which was straight out of our dreams. It stormed the night before our wedding and we were afraid it would be too wet to have the ceremony outside even if the skies let up - but the ground miraculously dried and the weather was perfect for our April wedding. We had 125 people and everyone fit comfortably, we moved some tables for more dancing space after dinner. Ann is the nicest and super accommodating, and they're still making additions like the covered porch. Couldn't recommend a better venue - Kalero will be forever in our hearts!Kalero Vineyard's reply:

What can I say about Kalero, except for their exceptional 5 star service. This venue and the owner is quite good. There were a lot of reasons for their exceptionalism, but let me give just a few.
1. Willing to meet at anytime. For us and walk throughs for our photographer.
2. THE BUILT an ADA disability ramp JUST for US. Our parents are wheel chair bound and they went above and beyond to put such work into the place that they added the concrete ramp just for us.
3. We were forced to change our date a couple of times because of other reasons and Kalero was again able to meet those dates.
4. I surprised my bride with a cookie table at the venue and they kept the secret and worked with us to keep it a secret up until the day of the wedding.
Ann and her team are quite the best. The venue is quite well priced and was perfect for our 100 person wedding. I can't say 1 bad thing about the venue.Kalero Vineyard's reply:

Wendy Sent on 06/24/2018My husband and I had the most wonderful wedding celebration at Kalero Vineyard. From our first tour of the property with Ann, to our experience with her preferred vendors for catering, photography, wedding planners, floral design, hair and make up and rentals, to execution and being made to feel as if our wedding was the most important wedding to ever. We know it wasn’t but we were sure made to feel that way.
It did indeed rain and Ann’s plan along with our caterer and planners to transform the interior of the Heartstone Barn at Kalero Vineyard to accommodate the ceremony and the reception was not only beautiful and functional but incredibly intimate and perfect! The vineyard and barn were a beautiful backdrop with the grey sky and made for some pretty fabulous imagery.
Thank you to ann and her preferred partners for the most amazing celebration our friends and family will talk about for years to come.

Jenna Sent on 02/22/2018My husband, Bart, and I could not have been happier with our decision to host our wedding reception at the Heartstone Barn at Kalero Vineyard. Out touring winery locations in Loudon County, we heard whispers of a new location being renovated and decided to drive over on a whim to check it out. We would have selected Kalero as our venue if we’d showed up and it had been “set” for a wedding, but the fact that the venue was truly under construction offered Bart and I a chance to get to know the owners and appreciate Ann and Fran’s generosity and passion. They *love* Kalero, and have poured themsleves in to making it a special place for families to enjoy one of the most important days of their lives.
Bart and I had the privilege of watching Heartstone Barn come together. Ann and Fran kept us in the loop on all the developments, invited us to their public events, and helped us to develop a floor plan and feel that would accentuate the vibe we wanted: a relaxed, enjoyable party that felt like we’d invited people to an upscale BBQ at our home. The building is beautiful: the ceilings are vaulted, the wood and stonework create a warmth and comfort that pervades the barn, the two patios overlook mountains and vines. The party was incredible: our dance floor included both the downstairs space and the stage, our guests loved finishing their night with bourbon by the firepits, and the space balanced a medium-sized party (we had ~110 guests) with an intimate feel so we could still chat with everyone.
What sets Kalero apart, though, is Ann and Fran. We felt from the beginning that they genuinely cared about us, our families, and our event. Though their calendar was getting booked and they were in crazy construction mode, we always felt in our interactions as though we were their only clients. We got so many compliments throughout the night about our venue, and we know that as Ann and Fran continue to develop the public-facing events at Kalero, we will continue to return!Kalero Vineyard's reply:

The perfect location, views and buildings for our rustic winery outdoor service and indoor reception. Ann and Natalie ran a very tight ship from start to finish, even calling down the most beautiful weather – sunny and 71, with a breeze designed for showbiz. The new bridal suite was incredible, bright, comfortable, large enough for everyone and anyone, and we appreciated the private restrooms. The day was perfect, the location made the photographs more breathtaking than we could have imagined, and our relatively small guest list have all raved about the venue and the wedding. Everything was choreographed to perfection, every expectation and last minute request met.
We had to make a last-minute decision to do the final walkthrough with the vendors and Ann and Natalie virtually, signing on from Minneapolis, and they were so accommodating and helpful with describing everything to me over the phone and FaceTime. Their suggestions were the perfect decisions. They have a great relationship with all the vendors we used, and I cannot think of one thing that we would have done differently. What a perfect day.
