The Honorable Jim Schweitzer was the first name in the list the Galveston County clerk gave us. He was the best from the first contact. Kind and friendly assured us that he had our "just us" wedding was covered. He suggested the venue: the lovely garden of Kempner Park, with option to do it at the Courthouse if we got a rainy day. He offered to take our wedding pics and he did wonderfully. His experience performing thousands of ceremonies allows him to adjust each to the couple´s personality. Hon. Schweitzer took all the stress about planning away. It was a brief but wholesome and meaningful ceremony.
Your Honor: thank you so much for celebrating our marriage the way you did. The words you had us pledge to each other were powerful. Words to live by, grow from and smooth rough spots. We aim to live by them until the end of our earthly lives. Were you willing to share them in writing we would certainly cherish them.

I arranged our renewal of vows on the beach from Scotland as a surprise for my husband. Jim was fantastic in every respect. Such a natural people person, reassuring and so kind with the kids.
We have become life long friends from across the Atlantic and I have seen him since. Best decision I ever made booking him! Pics on hubby’s phone this was the dress I picked but got a different one for on the beach. Fabulous day totally recommend Jim. Kindest guy ever. -

We had a simple ceremony with just the judge and us and he made it relaxing and fun. Really enjoyed him. Very warm and personable. Spends time with you. -

Judge Schweitzer was a hoot to work with. He was a joy to talk to every step of the way and officiated a touching and light hearted ceremony. He was prepared, but also able to adapt to my sudden spat of joyful tears. He definitely added to the joy of my special day. Thanks Jim! -

We had a small beach wedding. Our wedding was scheduled just the 2 of us, we did have our 3 kids with us. Jim took the time and really included our 3 kids and made them a huge part of our wedding and that, we will never forget.
We laughed,felt very comfortable, had an amazing beach ceremony. My now wife ,really wanted sunset, Jim worked with us 100% and was very very accommodating.
Jim met with me on the beach a few minutes prior to our scheduled time, made himself feel like a friend, not just too me but my now wife and our kids.
Thank you Jim for your time, your help and everything you did to make our wedding as amazing as it was !

Donald Sent on 05/01/2018JP Schwieitzer was absolutely awesome. I was looking to do a vow renewal before My wife and I got on a 7 night cruise for our 20 year anniversary. As I was unfamiliar with Galveston and simply wanted A sea wall Jetty I ask him for help and he knew just the spot. I have officiated several weddings my self and Hon. Schweitzer knocked it out of the park.
This was just 2 weeks after Harvey and he made sure that we knew he was there and ready. The ceremony was amazing. His words were warm and comforting.
We had not planned for anything except us on the rocks, but with the tourism trough after the hurricane, a crowd gathered and there was music and dancing. It was a magical kind of day. -
