JuneBug was at the center of our wedding story. This is where our planning process began & it is where we had the best day of our lives. It was truly perfect & that is not something I say lightly. JB was the only venue we looked at & it was immediately clear to us that it would be the perfect place to have this precious moment in our lives.
The setting is incredible & unlike any place we have ever been. The flower field was gorgeous, created w/love & was a beautiful backdrop for photos. The creek sounds gave a sense of ease & grounding. The shaded ceremony site w/built-in natural seating blended in & looked like it was a magical setting you came upon in the forest so you could sit & witness something incredible. Honestly one of the biggest selling points for us, aside from the amazing retro/vintage campers & all-around vibes, was Charlene, who owns & operates the venue w/her husband Tom (who is also so kind & supportive).
Charlene was an integral part of bringing our day together. She is a VIRGO QUEEN! She immediately made us feel comfortable & cared for & like we could plan this daunting event ourselves, & that it would be about us, & she gave us tools & reassurance to do so. She knows what she is doing & she loves doing it & that meant everything to us. From her preferred vendor list to her help when we were in decision fatigue & overwhelmed, to her impeccable & flawless performance as our day-of-coordinator. She orchestrated our wedding day to run like a well-oiled machine, w/vendors being coordinated well & on time, & made sure events & people were where they needed to be & when, while still doing it w/love & fun/chill energy. She is so experienced & professional that she took care of everything behind the scenes so that we didn’t have to worry about a single thing. She was so stress-free, it was refreshing & exactly what we needed.
We are a lesbian couple, & while Asheville is more progressive than other NC places, it is definitely not always a guarantee that a venue will feel safe & welcoming & supportive. At JB, we immediately felt seen, were treated equitably, & felt just as much excitement (if not more) for our union to take place there. Later in the planning process when we faced hard familial decisions & discussions, because it isn’t always easy being queer in the south, we reached out to Charlene & were met w/understanding, compassion, & the best embrace we could have asked for. It was just pure love when we needed it most. We will always be grateful for that.
The atmosphere on the other side of the venue & the campers were such a sweet & unique focal point. Getting to stay in them was so special & created a warm & vibey setting where we got to feel into the past, be present, & step forward into our future together. From the rehearsal & welcome party, to getting ready in the camper together, to the First Look at the Treehouse, to guests getting to explore the forest resort, to the after party at the fire pit, to bagels & coffee the next morning, the entire weekend felt like our own private camp, our own private bubble where only love & support existed. The whole venue created that energy for us in so many ways & we are forever grateful to be a part of the JB family now. The JB staff also deserve a huge shout out (& an extra thanks to you, Greta!) for running everything so smoothly & professionally, from the rehearsal on Friday to check out on Sunday. They were full of nothing but love & support for us as well, & they felt like family, too. Asheville is our home & JB just felt like such an extension of the people, feelings, & mountains that we love here. It was & will always be a place that holds such beautiful meaning for us, & we will continue to go back there as much as we can. Words cannot fully capture what JB or Charlene & Tom mean to us, but I hope you will get to go there one day & witness the magic that is JuneBug Retro Resort. -

The Junebug was the PERFECT wedding venue for us and our guests! Our wedding was in September 2023, and we were lucky to also have perfect weather. Charlene and her team were super helpful and professional, definitely gave us a peace of mind. We did our first look and vow exchange privately in the treehouse, which was such a special and intimate location for the moment and I highly recommend. We opted to have everyone stay at a hotel block in downtown Asheville rather than the campers, so I can't speak to that experience, but they did look really fun! Asheville was basically a destinate wedding for us, because most of our guests were coming from southern California, so it was truely a unique experience that they were talking about long after! We had about 60 guests, and while the space can accommodate so many more, it really didn't feel to big for us. -

We love JuneBug!
Our wedding at JuneBug was even more amazing than we could have imagined! The property is absolutely beautiful and the staff are wonderful. Charlene was very responsive and patient with us, responding to every question and helped us feel relaxed and at ease before, during and after the wedding. We are so grateful and can't believe how lucky we are that this was our wedding experience! We can't recommend JuneBug enough! -

The treehouse is absolutely stunning. The views, lights, flowers, food, fire pit - everything was better than we could have imagined. We had a very small ceremony and there is not a single thing we would change about the day. We were so grateful to find a venue that catered to small weddings. Charlene and her team took care of everything and were such fun to work with. We stayed in the campers with our guests and it was easily one of the coolest experiences we’ve had. Highly, highly recommend. -

We had our wedding at the JuneBug and it was picture perfect! Charlene was fantastic to work with and helped us through the process of having to reschedule from last October due to COVID. Planning an out of town wedding can be challenging but Charlene was a huge help and all of her vendor recommendations were spot on! You can tell that Tom and Charlene have put their hearts and souls into this amazing property and will bend over backwards to make sure their couples have a seamless wedding day. We had our first look in the treehouse and it made for such a special experience. All of our guest are still raving about this wonderful day! -

The perfect venue
Junebug Retro resort was everything I’d hoped it would be. When I saw the pictures online I knew this was where I wanted my special day to be. The venue was even more beautiful in person. The owners, Charlene and Tom are absolutely wonderful. They made sure everything was perfect for our special day. The campers were fun, clean, and ready for us as soon as we got there. I would recommend this place for any special event or fun weekend getaway. -

I remember the day I sat down with my step mom to look at wedding venues! (after just 2 days of being engaged) 😁 My husband and I knew we wanted to get married as quickly as possible! The second I saw the JuneBug website I said that’s it!! I of course went and looked at 3 other venues in Asheville but my heart kept leaving towards JuneBug. I went to see the venue in March so the leaves were gone the venue was not wedding ready but I could I picture everything I wanted without all of the trees and flowers in bloom or the wedding tents up. Charlene the owner, she was my girl, she was so on top of everything. From start to finish! I could call, text or email her and she was on it. Making everything as easy as possible for me. When it got down to crunch time her husband was the BOMB.COM, Tom! Nicest guy ever, so accommodating and easy going. Charlene was my coordinator the day of the wedding and WOW! The compliments I got for the flow of EVERYTHING from the rehearsal to EVERYTHING on the day of the wedding. The campers were awesome! Our wedding party as well as my husband and myself stayed in them the night of the wedding. Tom and Charlene started an after party bonfire and brought all remaining beer and wine (post wedding) to the bonfire pit in a bucket on ice for the entire wedding party to indulge as we spent the last bit of time with our wedding party having more fun until time for bed! Tom and Charlene recently built this amazing tree house on the property! Tom took my mother in law and I 2 days before the wedding to see the tree house! I almost died and went to heaven! I asked if Ryan and I could do our first look up there.. Even with a bit of a construction zone they cleaned it up and Ryan and I were the first couple ever to be up there! It was so special to me. Our first look over the mountains and secluded up in the woods in a tree house! I could go on and on and on and on. The airstream bar with beer taps, the creek! The bridge I walked across and my daddy met me at the end to walk me down tow aisle. This venue gets 5 stars all across the board. I wish I could do it all over again! My husband and I want to rent out the venue for one of our anniversaries in the future and get our families together for another weekend there! JuneBug Retro Resort will have a special place in my heart for life. If you don’t get married there you’re missing out. #Bestweddinghandsbrown

My husband and I planned our wedding at Junebug long-distance, only coming to Asheville a few times before the big day. The first time we visited Junebug and met Charlene and Tom, we immediately knew we made the right decision. They were just amazingly genuine, welcoming, and responsive throughout the entire process. They helped us find reliable vendors and helped ease any stresses we had before, during, and after the event. Being able to stay in the campers the night of the wedding was so perfect and allowed us to spend more time with our friends who came a long way to see us. I can't say enough good things about this place and we hope to come back and visit for years to come! -

Charlene and Tom are top notch! From start to finish they made us feel at home and we had an instant rapport with them. The value for money at this venue is beyond expectation! All of our guests were in awe with the views and hospitality from the owners. We engaged Charlene as the event coordinator and every detail was considered and executed perfectly throughout the day. The campers are authentically restored (even the radios work!) and were a treat for ourselves and our guests. We live overseas and were able to contact and communicate with Charlene and Tom at any time, allowing us to plan our wedding with minimal stress and full confidence. Their knowledge and recommendations for local vendors, that they have worked with previously, helped provide a seamless event run by professionals who truly care about their clients. Ending the wedding day around the campfire with our friends and family was magical. We highly recommend inviting a friend with a guitar! JuneBug is a full service and genuinely unique venue that our friends and family will be talking about for years to come! We can't wait to come back for an anniversary trip in the future. -

My husband and I were looking for a venue that stands out, and JuneBug stole our hearts from the get go! This venue has it all. The ceremony space has such a great vibe with mature trees and a beautiful wooden arbor in front of a gently meandering creek (very auspicious in Feng Shui!). We had close to 200 people comfortably seated under the gorgeous double high peak tent during dinner (this tent would look beautiful even in a parking lot) and everybody boogied hard on the brand new dance floor. Our guests that weren't big on dancing were often spotted walking the grounds and discovering all the other charms of this property including the meticulously kept campers and retro playground. Tom and Charlene were amazing and a huge help with everything leading up to our wedding day and without them the big day would have been much more stressful. They made our wedding day dreams come true -

How to describe the amazing talent of Charlene and Tom at Junebug?? From the moment we stepped onto their beautiful property and toured the grounds, we knew this was the place to share our special moment with our families. Charlene's communication was great, and the entire wedding from planning stage to saying "I do!" went off without a hitch. They both are great at running the show, behind the curtain so you are able to fully relax with your family and enjoy the evening. We utilized the campers as well as their newly renovated "bar cart", and everyone spoke so highly of the entire aesthetic vibe. We couldn't have been happier, and as Asheville natives we are proud to say that we would love to come back and share more special moments at Junebug with them. Thank you for an amazing wedding experience! -

We could not have asked for a more perfect venue for our daughter's wedding. Owners Charlene and Tom were incredible and did everything they could to create a beautiful, yet relaxing day for all of us. As well as the great amenities provided (tent, Airstream Bar, gorgeous grounds, etc.), friends were able to stay in the campers as well as tent camp by the creek. This made the bride and groom very happy that their friends were able to stay and celebrate with them. At JuneBug Retro Resort, our daughter and SIL had the exact wedding day they wanted, one which suited their unique personalities. I can recommend the site to anyone looking for a beautiful, fun and different event setting.

Junebug Retro Resort ended up being the perfect place for our wedding. All of our guests were so impressed by the venue and how unique and beautiful it was, especially in October. There is plenty of space for guests to not feel on top of one another and yet everyone comes together under the tent in such a special way. Having the trailers to stay in after a post-wedding bonfire was beyond perfect for us and our wedding party and took a lot of transportation stress out of the weekend. Speaking of wedding stress Charlene could not be more wonderful and does everything in her power to reduce as much stress as she can. She even contacted a vendor for me! She really wants your day to be perfect and it shows. You’ll feel so taken care of and our wedding went so smoothly thanks to her.
Overall I couldn’t recommend Junebug more. -

Junebug is truly a unique and refreshing venue choice. Their retro style and beautiful property made a very memorable experience for our wedding guests - a breath of fresh air from the predictable reception hall. The staff here are incredibly personable, easy to work with, and really contributed to the success of our day. They offer gorgeous options of ceremony and reception site, with a solid contingency plan (something that was very important to us). A major plus - our wedding party got to stay on site in their vintage campers, which was not only fun but incredibly convenient. You will not regret booking with these wonderful people! -

JuneBug Retro Resort along with Charlene and Tom completely blew us away. They were flexible when our date changed due to family illness and helped us all along the wedding planning process. We loved that JuneBug didn't feel like a factory wedding venue, spitting out the same wedding weekend after weekend, and that Charlene was so incredibly personable and helpful. The property is pristine and the trailers are each unique and beautiful. We held our rehearsal dinner and wedding under the tent and stayed with our wedding party in the trailers (they loved the unique lodging!). Everything was on-site which made for the perfect laid-back weekend with family and friends. We really enjoyed playing badminton and corn hole and sitting by the campfire in the evenings.
I wish I could give 10 stars for JuneBug. I can't stress enough how helpful Charlene was throughout the planning process as my husband and I live in Colorado and were planning from afar, and my parents (who are in Asheville) were planning everything in person. She kept us all sane, and also won the award for fastest 100 yard dash when she raced back to get the bouquet I realized I had forgotten in the bridal trailer right as I was about to walk down the aisle.
We're already dreaming of an anniversary trip back so we can stay at June Bug again! -

June Bug is the perfect place for any wedding, large or small. The retro campers, fire pits and flower gardens make it easy to decorate in any style. The staff is friendly, helpful and professional. There are several places you can have a ceremony and there's plenty of parking. There are designated places for the wedding party to get ready and to stay after the wedding. -
Stephanie Sent on 09/17/2018I don't even know where to start! everything about charlene and tom and their amazing venue was more than i ever dreamed of. willing to help us make all our hairbrained ideas work for our totally nontraditional wedding and w me every step of the way without skipping a beat these guys made our dreams come true. my friends and family WILL NOT STOP TALKING about this place!!! my bet is on this place being impossible to book very very soon. have your wedding here and you will not regret it!

They went above and beyond to make sure our day was seamless; every interaction was a wonderful experience. It was truly an honor to have our special day at JuneBug. It is a magical place. The campers are beautifully restored and surely create an indescribable ambiance. Our favorite features included the stream by the ceremony site, the beautiful bar area, the playground for the kids, and the reception tent. The night concluded with a small gathering around the bonfire. We couldn't have imagined a more perfect place for our wedding. We only wish we could do it all over again!

Will Sent on 08/30/2018We had a very non-traditional wedding at June Bug. From the get-go our experience with them was head and shoulders above the other venues we looked at in the Asheville area. We rented all the vintage campers for our bridal party and groomsmen for the weekend. It was like grown-up summer camp. Adults and kids all had a blast.
The property is beautiful and can handle a large wedding and reception, but would also be great for a smaller event. Luckily the rain let up after our guests began arriving, but they have permanent event tents on-site, so we would have been fine either way. No need to rent tables and chairs, they've got 'em and they're nicer than an event rental's stuff.
I can't really say enough about the owners/managers Charlene and Tom. They were easy to work with and will be as hands-on or hands-off as you need. Charlene was great at coordinating with our caterer and various other event rental folks. You can tell that they've put their heart and soul into June Bug, and they've created something really special. -

Catherine Sent on 08/12/2018My husband and I found JuneBug Retro Resort through a wedding festival in Asheville. Owner Charlene was there with an excellent display that truly showcased the property. Our first visit to JuneBug was in February, but we could tell from the manicured landscaping around the campers that it would be beautiful in the summertime; we secured a date to have our wedding there. Charlene was helpful and responsive throughout our planning process, anticipating needs and offering reasonable solutions which saved us time and money. Key benefits of having our wedding at JuneBug were two included tents, the ability to purchase and bring in our own alcohol, and being able to rent all ten campers to have our wedding party stay overnight with us. Our wedding vision came to life at JuneBug, and we could not have been happier! -
Gerald Sent on 07/17/2018What an amazing place to celebrate ... a step back in time, peaceful, large open green spaces, hammocks and a creek. The accommodations are cozy just like they would have been in the 50's. The craftsmanship and work that has been done to restore these trailers is outstanding. The modern touches in the bath house are exceptional. This is an amazing
place for a wedding and reception. My Husband and I chose those place for the serenity and to be able to have a 50s themed wedding. Many options for holding an outdoor ceremony, extremely well kept grounds, a large tent for the pre-and post receptions and a beautiful bar area surrounded wtih nature. The website can not convey the true beauty and awesomeness of this place. We HIGHLY recommend JuneBug Retro Resort for your consideration. The cost of the venue includes so much more than you woudl expect - use of the facilities, the trailers, the event area, bar area and green space. The owners Tom and Charlene have brought toghether a quaint, comfortable and fun little piece of heaven in North Carolina. -

It was beautiful, welcoming and Charlene and Tom were so easy to work with! Our guests loved Junebug and will definitely go back. Julianne Sent on 06/15/2018Junebug was the perfect venue for our wedding! We didn’t search around—we heard about Junebug, set a time to go see it, and knew it was the perfect place for us. The owners are incredible in every way—both Charlene and Tom were busy going above & beyond to take care of prepping the venue, offer thoughts, suggestions, and advice as much as I wanted (and needed! Charlene really helped me get my ducks in a row as to all the things to take care of and when!)
Our guests had a wonderful time—I’ve heard a lot of feedback that it was the most fun wedding people have been to, and that they loved the setting. Everyone who got to stay in a camper was really excited about the accommodations, too. Our Honeymoon Suite camper was perfect both for getting ready and for when we were ready to sneak away from the after-party bonfire.
The rain forecast leading up to the big day was sketchy—after a couple weeks of crazy amounts of rain, we didn’t know what to expect, but even if it had poured, I felt confident that everything would work out well because there are good back/up plans for bad weather.
Working with Charlene took a lot of potential stress/worry off my mind, and helped make our day more perfect than either of us could imagine! -

Caroline Sent on 06/06/2018I wish I could give June Bug Retro Resort a 10 out of 5 stars, because they completely surpassed our expectations for what a wedding venue could be. Tom and Charlene, the owners of June Bug, are clearly in the right field. Their passion for hosting unforgettable events and providing genuine, kind customer service is evident in every interaction we ever had with the two of them. Tom and Charlene were so professional and so accommodating throughout the entire booking and planning process. Charlene, the individual we mostly ended up communicating with, never made us feel like we were an inconvenience and she always shared in so much of our excitement with us. Our guests were blown away by the property and the precious vintage campers. Everyone kept remarking on how unique and original the venue was...it made my husband and I elated, because we never wanted a copy-cat, cookie-cutter wedding. My husband and I and our entire bridal party ended up staying in the campers after our wedding. Everyone was pleasantly surprised with how spacious and comfortable the campers were. My husband has a lot of tall friends and none of them had any problem staying comfortable in their camper at night. All of our bridal party was blown away by the beautiful bath house that Tom and Charlene had custom made for June Bug.
My husband and I are already brainstorming an anniversary party back at June Bug, because we want an excuse to host another event!!!! -
