I have taken the past few weeks to think about how to write this review because words cannot describe how amazingly wonderful Juliette is. Seriously.
I was looking for someone to alter my dress in early September, and stumbled upon Juliette on The Knot. I reached out, and she was super quick to respond and get me in asap with my wedding just two months away. As a plus sized bride, I was very nervous about alterations, but Juliette immediately put me so at ease. At every appointment, she made me feel like the most gorgeous bride ever, and without her I would not have felt like my best self on my big day. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with my hair, so she picked out the most beautiful hair clip that I ended up wearing and definitely completed my look.
Juliette also essentially reconstructed one of my bridesmaid's dresses (I wish I had before and after photos because oh my goodness), and she altered my MOH's dress in two days because my MOH came in from NY about a week before the wedding. Her fees for all of us were super reasonable, and we were able to coordinate it so we picked all three dresses up at the same time.
I am so happy and grateful that Juliette is a part of my wedding story. Her warmth, her laughter, and her joy are infectious. She is a gem, and you would be crazy not to work with her! -

Juliette is so incredibly talented!!! She absolutely went above and beyond all expectations and I couldn't have been happier. You will not be disappointed working with her. She made the dress fit like a glove and created a stunning bustle. She also taught me great tips on how to walk, sit, and pick up the dress. She also gave me suggestions on what to buy for sticky bra pads and fashion tape for the shoulders to keep everything in place the day of. I really enjoyed working with her! She is so kind and talented and kept reminding me to just relax! If you want someone who is exceptionally experienced, gifted, professional and very kind, Juliette is your seamstress! -

Juliette did such a great job on my dress! She made a few adjustments including removing an illusion back, taking out a couple layers of netting and removing the train. She clearly has a ton of experience and offered advice, but didn’t pressure me to make any changes and made it fit perfectly! She had it pressed before my second fitting at no extra cost to make sure I was comfortable walking in it as I had some trouble during my first fitting. Her pricing was very reasonable relative to the other two quotes I received. I would highly recommend her! -

There’s a reason Juliette has won numerous wedding awards over the years - she’s a master of her work. I accompanied my friend to her own bridal fitting and saw how excellent Juliette’s work was, so when I got engaged, I knew exactly who I wanted to do my alterations. I purchased my first and flare dress from BHLDN, so it came off the rack a week after I ordered it and needed plenty of fabric taken off the hem, as well as a decent amount taken in around the behind. Juliette made it fit flawlessly. Her bustle also laid beautifully, and it stood up to a very big night of dancing! Don’t look any further than Juliette - I live north of Boston and it was worth every minute of rush hour traffic to get down to her in Mattapan! -

Working with Juliette to alter my wedding dress was one of the best decisions I made for my wedding! Juliette works out of her home, and from the moment I met her I knew my dress was in good hands. The love and care she provides to her customers in unmatched. She was so honest with me about some of the asks that I had and whether or not they would work as expected, which I personally really appreciated. I looked forward to my appointments with Juliette as she is genuinely such a kind and funny human. On my wedding day, my dress fit perfectly, and the bustle on quite possible was the least complicated bustle ever created! Once I had my final pick-up for my dress, I was sad to say goodbye. I hope to have the opportunity to work with her again! -

I was nervous to trust just anyone with my wedding dress, but Juliette’s amazing reviews convinced me to book an appointment with her. The moment I met her, I knew I made the right choice! She immediately put me at ease with her extensive knowledge, honesty, and sense of humor, and I looked forward to every appointment with her. After my experience, I would trust Juliette with my firstborn child. Oh my gosh I feel so lucky to have found her. I got my dress from a bridal salon in the greater Boston area, and was told that "standard" alterations (hem, bustle, baaaasically nothing else) would be $795 and anything else would be charged as "custom". Juliette did all of the following: took in and shortened my illusion sleeves, hemmed, bustled, covered the plunge on my bodice with extra lace, added some lace to my open back, and, best of all, gave me complete peace of mind throughout the entire process. All of that was cheaper than the "standard" package would've been at the place I bought the dress from.
I had three fittings with Juliette and each one was a delight. I looked forward to seeing her every time, she's so kind and genuinely 100% cares about her "girls" and how we feel in the most important dress we'll ever wear!! Her advice was always on point and it is always backed by her experience but you still feel like you have complete control over the dress and how it will look. My cousin/MOH, who had been with me when I bought the dress, said she couldn't believe how much more stunning it looked once Juliette was finished with it.
I cannot recommend Juliette highly enough. Thank you thank you thank you Juliette, you are truly a godsend! -

10/10 just the best!
10/10 — Juliette is THE BEST when it comes to all of your bridal gown alteration needs. It was very easy to book an appointment on her website and as a busy bride with lots of to-dos, I really appreciated the appointment reminder emails and texts. Juliette is a joy to work with. It’s a big deal to trust someone with your gown but Juliette immediately put me at ease with her calm, welcoming, and joyful personality. She’s professional, very reasonably priced, honest, a great communicator, and pays close attention to detail. The back part of my dress really puckered out with a ton of extra material over my hips and Juliette took the time to think and figure out how she was going to fix it. In the end, she had to lift an entire layer of lace, take in some of the material, and then reapply the lace. It came out PERFECT. My dress fit me like a glove and I’m still receiving compliments about how stunning my dress was. She also presented a few different bustle options and was very patient when teaching my friend how to work the bustle so we had no issues on my wedding day. You won’t regret booking Juliette! -

Perfect in every way!
I could not agree more with all the other reviews for Juliette – working with her was fantastic!! She is incredibly skilled, kind, and professional, and always has her client’s best interest in mind when making alteration suggestions. I am only 5’1 and my dress needed to be altered quite a bit, and she went above and beyond in every way. Juliette hand-sewed my lost lace back onto my dress (the bottom as well as on the sleeves), reshaped the bodice, and adjusted the shoulders and sleeves to make a dress that fit me perfectly and made me feel confident. While I loved the dress when I purchased it, I was shocked by how much of a difference her alterations made when I came in for my second fitting. She completely transformed it into a gown that looked and felt like it was custom made for me with the most gorgeous 7-point bustle I have ever seen. She also made sure to provide me with my extra dress fabric and suggested that I incorporate it into my wedding bouquet and husband’s boutonniere, which I did and was so thrilled with. My mother attended my first fitting (and is a very harsh critic) and continued to rave about how knowledgeable and talented Juliette was throughout that whole weekend – even knowing what changes Juliette was going to make, she was still floored by my final dress on my wedding day and my parents shed tears of joy during my “first look” with them. I cannot recommend Juliette enough for wedding gown alterations in the Boston area! -

I found Juliette based on her excellent reviews and she is just as incredible as her reviews suggest. Juliette is so kind, knowledgeable, and thoughtful throughout the entire process. She created really beautiful moments that made my mom feel so special and even saves pieces of your dress for you to preserve or use for children later in life. She also has incredible suggestions- for example, she cut multiple layers out from under my dress to make it more lightweight as I had a destination wedding. Perfection!
Juliette is a master of her craft. She is incredibly skilled, kind, and professional and I knew 5 minutes into my first fitting that I made the right choice with her. She knew immediately when I put my dress on that the lining had been made too small so she took out a razor and ripped all of the seams open - and I didn't even bat an eye. She knew EXACTLY what she was doing and not only made that lining fit me properly, but also created a STUNNING waterfall bustle (with no visible buttons whatsoever - perfect craftsmanship), shortened my sleeves, shortened my hem, put in cups & adjusted the top to fit properly, and so many other details that I am just astounded she got done in the time she did. When my dress first came in from the designer I thought that I had made the wrong choice but once Juliette worked her magic, I fell in love with it all over again. Thank you so much, Juliette!! -

There are no words to describe how amazing Juliette is. She is by far one of the hardest-working people I've ever met. Not only is her work incredible and of a perfectionist nature, but she genuinely cares about each and every one of her brides. My wedding dress was delivered 4 months late and left me with only 1-2 months for alterations. Even with Juliette being booked to the brim, she found time for me and made sure my dress fit like a glove. And that it did! This woman is the epitome of good service and a kind heart.. and the icing on the cake is that she is incredibly fairly priced. If you're looking for alterations, stop now and get on Juliette's schedule ASAP. -

Working with Juliette for my wedding dress tailoring was one of the best decisions I made during my wedding planning process!
My wedding dress was not custom-ordered, so pre-alterations it was loose and not particularly flattering (see last picture for pre-alterations baseline). Juliette worked absolute MAGIC. The finished product fits me like a glove and looks as though it custom-designed for me.
Most wedding dress tailoring involves multiple stages alterations, and somehow Juliette is able to manage almost everything in one go. After my first fitting, my dress was nearly perfect, and she only had to make one minor tweak and steam my dress after that. She stored my dress and veil for me from my consultation appointment until I picked them up the week of my wedding, and she steamed my veil for me for no additional charge.
For truly superb work and a personalized experience, her pricing is so affordable! I paid less than half of what I had been quoted from a well-known tailor in Boston, and, cost aside, I felt so much more comfortable working with Juliette.
Her personality is comforting, humorous, and no-nonsense, all rolled into one. I knew I was in good hands from the moment I stepped into her home studio for a consultation. I am forever grateful to Juliette for her role in me being a confident and radiant bride on my wedding day!

Impeccable alterations!!
I can not recommend Juliette more highly for wedding dress alterations. Her many years of experience shine through in her exceptional work, attention to detail, and thoughtful approach to alterations. She was unphased by the yards of horsehair trim that had to be removed and hand sewn back onto my dress, and her work was impeccable. I got so many compliments on my wedding day that my dress fit me like a glove, and all credit goes to Juliette. I was so happy with my experience and grateful to have had Juliette as part of my team. I cannot say enough positive things about Juliette!! My dress was quite intricate - lots of detail on the top, and many, many layers on the bottom. Juliette took in the dress so that it fit PERFECTLY, but I am also fairly short and she had to hem those many, many layers to a more suitable height for someone 5'2 :) I also wanted to add off the shoulder sleeves to the dress, and Juliette recommended making them removable via snaps, which was such a perfect suggestion. That way I was able to remove them after the ceremony/photos for a more casual look for the reception & dancing! She also added a bustle, which she was able to do UNDER a layer of my dress, so you literally couldn't tell that my dress was even bustled at all! Juliette was super responsive through the whole process, quite affordable compared to other tailors, and she's also just SO nice and kind. She really makes you feel so wonderful & beautiful every time you're in her home trying your dress on! I can't recommend Juliette more and am so grateful I worked with her for my dress! -

And WOW -- she altered my wedding dress to absolute perfection! I had the best experience working with her, from the easy, efficient fittings to the final product. Juliette did an amazing job on my alterations. My dress had a lot of intricate detail including lace, beading, sequins, and a long train. She took the dress up and in, and also added a beautiful waterfall bustle. When I picked it up in September, the dress fit like a glove – absolute perfection. She also did a thorough cleaning for me, which I’m sure took a lot of time given that the dress as off the rack and had taken a bit of a beating. She was very responsive when scheduling appointments and her pricing was extremely reasonable. I would highly recommend her to any brides in the Boston area in need of a wedding seamstress. -

Juliette is a WONDERFUL seamstress and person. She did an OUTSTANDING job hemming my wedding dress after only an initial fitting (see the before and after pictures). When you arrive at her studio, she gives you a WARM greeting and gets right to work. She’s efficient and honest with you throughout the process, which is SO important for a wedding dress tailor. She’s also very accommodating. If you are ever running late to an appointment you can just shoot her a text to let her know and she’ll be there waiting for you. She also took great care in altering and updating my Mom’s veil by removing old unwanted pieces and adding in a comb with a hair piece. I can’t say enough about the quality of her work and the genuine kindness she showed me. -

Competent, caring, and wonderful!
Juliette did an amazing job altering my wedding dress, and she was so kind and positive through the whole process. She was willing to work on the hem of a tricky beaded dress that scared off a few other seamstresses I called—and she did it at a very reasonable price. She also brought a lot of thought to how to camouflage some asymmetry in my back, and she came up with a clever and economical solution (adjusting the inner lining). I had a lot of confidence in her skill through the process and felt really well taken care of. She even gave me some garment tape on my last visit to help the dress hang nicely! I would recommend her services to anyone and can't imagine a better experience! -

I started planning my wedding in October 2019, bought my wedding dress in December 2019 for a March 2020 wedding. I knew I needed a seamstress and was desperate to find someone since my date was not too far away. The bridal store where I bought my dress recommended a few spots, but they were a bit far from me and I read some not so great reviews. I didn’t want to take my chances, so I did my own research. I found Juliette upon a google search in my area. She was literally 5 minutes from my house, which was what initially drew me to her, but also after reading the positive online reviews, I decided to reach out to her. She got back to me immediately, which is always a good sign for me, and she was able to schedule me for a fitting that same weekend. I was so relieved! One less thing to worry about. I told her about one issue I had with the dress which was that the lace on the top made my skin itchy and irritated. She was able to suggest a fix to that by adding a ribbon underneath on the edges so it wouldn’t rub on my skin. She had to take in the dress quite a bit since I’m very curvy with small waist, take in on the shoulders, hem it and make the bustle. She gave me a great suggestion of adding a tutu piece (sorry I forget the formal name of the fabric lol) to give the dress more shape at the bottom. Kind of like a mermaid shape so it wasn’t so boring. It sounded like a great idea and I trusted her even though I had just met her. She also let me try on some of her veils to see what length I liked for my dress. She told me to bring a friend to the final fitting to teach them how to setup my bustle. I was so excited to have found her!
I went in for another fitting weeks later and then for a final one a couple weeks prior to the wedding. Juliette pressed my dress and veil and had everything ready for me to pick up the Saturday before my wedding (wedding was for a Monday). However, the pandemic hit us in early March and one week prior to our wedding, everything shutdown. I had to postpone the wedding to August. It was a devastating time to say the least. However, I was so appreciative to have Juliette there to help during that stressful time. When I called her, she told me not to worry, to pick up the dress for now and then once I have a new date, I could go back for another fitting and she would press everything for me again with no problem. And that she did! I postponed my wedding for August 2020 and went to see her again in July. The dress still fit like a glove, thankfully! Juliette is a busy woman, but she was so flexible and accommodating. I truly appreciated that because I was just going through such an emotional roller-coaster because my original venue cancelled on me in July and I had to re-plan my entire wedding at a new venue in less than 4 weeks. I even called her in a rush 2 weeks prior to the wedding to see if she could squeeze me in for another fitting for a second dress to change into after the reception. She didn’t hesitate to find some time to see me. I didn’t even do a final fitting for the second dress because I trusted her enough. I picked up the dresses the Saturday prior to my wedding; everything was nicely and neatly packaged in a garment bag and she helped me carry it to my car.
Juliette is such a kind and warm-hearted person. She gave me a lot of positive energy and good wishes when I told her I was still nervous and anxious that COVID would force me to postpone the wedding again. Sometimes I needed to hear that, and it was comforting to hear it from her.
Juliette made sure I felt comfortable and beautiful in my dress. She was extremely professional, has exceptional skills, and is reasonably priced. I’m sure I would have paid a crazy rate anywhere else with all the detailed work that my dress required and with the extra work due to the postponement. I felt extremely lucky to have found her and I would not hesitate to recommend her to any bride. She is an absolute dream to work with! -

Juliette is the nicest most caring seamstress I've ever found. She was super nice, super caring and super sweet during each and every visit. Even in the midst of a pandemic, she still welcomed me to her shop to continue with alterations (of course I respected her while wearing a mask and sanitizer the whole time). Her work is polished and the bustle, wow! she knows what she's doing. I will say take a video of the bustle, as my video of how to bustle on my wedding day came in handy. Don't go to those over snooty, over priced seamstresses in Boston. Juliette can do it fairly priced and with a great personality to match. -

I was so thankful to find Juliette to alter my wedding gown last fall. As an opera singer, I've had plenty a fancy gown altered over the years, but Juliette is the best seamstress I have ever worked with. She is an INCREDIBLE talent, and I felt so comfortable and at ease working with her. She has such warmth and care for her clients and the dresses, and I really appreciated her welcoming my mom, aunt, and sister into her studio to be a part of the early fitting process. Wedding preparations are stressful, and I was grateful to Juliette for being one of the things that wasn't. Being sent off with my gown exactly how we wanted it, with a big warm hug, is a memory I will never forget. Thank you, Juliette, for helping me feel beautiful. -

Juliette is the BEST!
I got married on 8/18/18, Juliette altered my large, layered, ball gown dress and my lacy, mermaid-style, red, Chinese dress. I wanted to wear my mom's veil from 1980, but it had a lacy crown that did not fit my head. Juliette was able to salvage the veil and apply it to a comb. She also altered my sister's MOH dress and my mother's MOB and traditional, silk, Chinese gown. I had a lot of work cut out for Juliette, but from start to finish, Juliette was honest, kind and patient. Her prices are very reasonable too. My sister got her wedding dresses altered by Juliette too! -

A-maz-ing!
One of my girlfriends referred me to Juliette when I was looking for a wedding dress seamstress. She snatched my dress in all the right places and makes the perfect suggestions to ensure the dress looks top notch post alteration. She also fitted my mothers dress, sisters, and most of my bridesmaids! She is a perfectionist. If I ever got married again I would go straight to her Lolol. I’ve referred two of my girlfriends to her as well and Juliette has exceeded everyone’s expectations! She’s so sweet and friendly and makes you feel comfortable during the fitting process. Since she fitted my wedding dress so perfect I’ve been going to her ever since for jean, party dress, and pant alterations! Her flexibility is unmatched - Terr was a time when I needed a dress altered and she had me drop it off to her on my way to my friend’s house and then she was done by the time I left so I was able to grab it on my way home! Lastly, with all the alterations I had done to my wedding dress I’m sure it would have been $200+ at a bridal shop!! But nope, her prices were so affordable that I had to keep going to her for other things! Go to her ladies!!! -

Juliette altered my wedding dress a couple years back and did amazing work! I bought the dress off the rack, so Juliette had her work cut out for her! She had to hem several inches off the bottom, take the dress down 2 or 3 sizes, remove pulls, sew in cups, and add a bustle for the train, and the dress has three layers of fabric! The dress was absolutely perfect. In addition to her stellar work, she was a joy to be around. She treats her clients with respect and care, and makes the whole process so easy! I highly recommend Juliette. -

Juliette is an amazingly talented seamstress! I tell everyone it's like she can speak to fabric. Juliette made my day so special by tailoring my dress to my body. I felt so comfortable the whole night, nothing ever coming out of place. Juliette was so kind, professional and easy to work with. At every appointment she made me feel even more at ease. She reassured me that everything would be perfect and it was. My day wouldn't have been possible without her. -

Came to Juliette’s for my friends wedding and my sisters. She did The alterations on both of my bridesmaid dresses. Juliette not only does amazing alterations, she is also a very kind, caring, realistic person.
After the bridesmaid dresses, my boyfriend and I came to her for a few other pieces that needed altering. Thank you Juliette! -

Amazing. I first met Juliette in 2017 for my wedding gown alterations and my bridesmaids dresses. I really enjoyed my experience overall. She's great at what she does and she's very passionate. Everything was done in a timely manner, and I had no concerns at all with any of my dresses. She will also give advice based on your dislikes/likes. I've always felt comfortable at my appointments and she made sure I knew everything that was being done. A plus is that shes hilarious! -
