Remarkable photography!

Julie is the best! She is so kind and has an incredibly artistic eye. You can tell she is a seasoned professional by how well she kept the flow of photos going. She does not over edit her photos either which I really appreciate. I will recommend Julie to everyone I know. You cannot go wrong with selecting Julie as your photographer!

A true artist!

Words can't even begin to describe how highly we recommend Julie! She is truly an artist and such a creative photographer. We hired her for our wedding and engagement photos, and what we got back were true works of art! We loved that our photos felt truly unique and special to us as a couple, not a copy of pinterest. She was open to all our ideas and made us feel comfortable enough to try some of her "crazy" ideas ... like getting in a row boat in my wedding dress!! She caught all the traditional and expected shots, but also captured wonderful candid moments and truly editorial style shots from our wedding. We will cherish these photos forever, and never stop looking through the album. Julie is a professional that got us all the shots we needed in a timely fashion, so that we still had time to enjoy our reception. There aren't enough stars to click on this review!

Photography perfection!

Our wedding would not have been the same if Julie and Israel weren't the ones capturing our special day! This dynamic duo was able to catch every second of our wedding, from getting dressed in the morning, our first look, when we said "I do", and on to the dance floor. Julie and Israel made us feel comfortable and at ease with every photo, and they felt like family the entire day. We can't thank them enough for helping us make memories we will cherish forever.

Best of the absolute best

Julie and Israel are amazingly talented!!!! They did our engagement and weddings photos and we will be booking them again in the future for sure. They do not do the same poses, backgrounds etc for every couple and are sure to produce photos that capture the look and personality you are going for. We have had so many compliments and we had all the photos to us in about 2 weeks which is unbelievably fast!!

Great Engagement Photos

We are very late with this review, but Julie did a fantastic job with our engagement photos last August. She allowed us to go to multiple different locations to shoot and spent time with us getting the shots that we wanted. She was easy to work with and captured our love beautifully-- we still cherish all of her shots a year later! If we are ever in South Central PA again, I would hire her again for any photography needs! Thanks Julie!!

Genuine, talented, and hilarious!

Julie and Israel are truly talented photographers but more then that they are genuinely kind. Julie and Israel have a way of making you feel that you are the most important person in the world. They have the ability to not only make you feel beautiful but like you are part of the family. We hired Julie and Israel to do our engagement and wedding photographers, we will absolutely hire them again for more life events. Our bridal party and family still talk about how “awesome” they were. They made the day even more magical.

Saying that Julie takes phenomenal pictures is a major understatement! I was nervous about who to pick to take not only our maternity, hospital and newborn photos but once my friend recommended her and I saw her work I was confident she would be amazing! Julie went over the top on our pictures and is the sweetest, kindest and most down to earth person ever! My husband and now our son just absolutely loved her! She was easy to get ahold of, talk to and even put up with me sending her outfit pictures and all! She was beyond patient with our son and was so loving and caring. I am so glad we now know her and her amazing work for more photos and to have these picture memories she took for us. Don't hesitate and stop looking anywhere else for a photographer!

To simply say that Julie takes great photos would be the ultimate understatement. There is so much more to what she offers.

Behind the lens, Julie's eye for photography and ability to capture such precious moments cannot be taught. She is very gifted at what she does and her style is truly unique. Julie is always prepared with new ideas for every shoot, but is also extremely receptive and willing to bring your visions to life.

There is also the technical aspect of her work. Often times photographers can capture a nice photo, but they lack the technical skill to correct the lighting or do touch up work to finalize the piece, but Julie is extremely skilled with her software. She has the ability to transform a photo from good to great without overdoing it. She highlights the proper features and focuses on the subject, creating a natural glow that pulls you into each photo.

Finally, there is the person behind it all. Julie is about as genuine as a person gets. She is friendly, personable and always makes you feel comfortable. Her patience and flexibility during a shoot always eases the stress and tension of having your picture taken. She's amazing at dealing with the variety of personalities you run into at a wedding, as well as softly handling your precious newborns.

Our family has used Julie for our wedding, two newborn and family shoots, one year and two year old photos. She has exceeded expectations every time and we look forward to building a lifetime of memories with her!

Julie was amazing to work with! She made the day so fun and stress free and really captured everything. She took into consideration some special requests for poses that we had and we are so happy with the way our pictures turned out. Julie did a wonderful job with our photographs. She listened to what I wanted in photographs but also had many creative ideas herself which turned out great and made for some really awesome pictures. She was patient and kind and took the time to get all the shots we wanted. She was prompt at editing and getting the pictures back to us. For anyone who's gone through planning a wedding, you know how stressful it can be. Julie was definitely one of the easiest vendors we worked with; we gave her a time and place, and she took care of the rest. We didn't have to worry about a thing! Our wedding was planned in under 6 months, so it was a blessing that she was both available and extremely affordable. And that's before we even got the pictures back, which were absolutely gorgeous! She really captured the fun of the evening, our family and friends, and fabulous setting of our wedding perfectly. I could not have been happier with our investment.

My partner and I are so happy we are able to have Julie as our wedding photographer. She is always very prompt with her communications. When we met her for our engagement session, we were delighted by how kind she was and how easy she was to work with. She traveled a long way to our home for the engagement session, which was wonderful. The photos are absolutely stunning. She is such a talented photographer. We cannot wait to work with her on our wedding day and anything else that requires professional photography in the future! Julie is the best!

My advice to any couple trying to decide if they should book Julie is to meet with her. My fiance and I met with Julie in person to discuss what we were looking for in terms of style, budget, everything. From the moment we sat down with Julie, we clicked. Her passion for photography and life is contagious and her attention to detail is what makes her work so extraordinary. I cannot speak highly enough of Julie, her work, and our experience with her. Booking Julie for our engagement and wedding photos was one of the best decisions we made. She truly captured the emotion and specialness of our big day.

Our wedding was in January and of all our vendors, finding a great photographer was our top priority. Julie Buck did not disappoint, we were blown away by our photographs! Julie has a special gift for capturing the emotions, atmosphere and events of the day; she made us feel and look amazing in our photos, while documenting the entire thing perfectly. Julie did an absolutely incredible job with our engagement and wedding photography! We initially chose to work with her due to the other great reviews we read as well as her work we had looked through-she even exceeded those high expectations. While she was so much fun to work with and have at our wedding, she also was extremely professional and creatively captured every photo we had wanted and more (both posed and candid). Our wedding photos are beautiful and I couldn't speak more highly of her work. I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for a great photographer.

We are so happy we chose Julie for our wedding photographer. Our package included a free engagement session, and our pictures were beautiful! We could not have been happier with them. We even used some as Christmas presents for our parents. Julie is easy to get in touch with, and very easy to work with. My fiancé and I aren't all that comfortable in front of a camera, but she directed us into poses that would turn out great and capture our feelings, as well. She was happy to blend poses that I liked with what she knew would look good in order to get the images we envisioned. It is clear that each of her clients are important to her, and she wants to capture their special moments. We cannot wait to work with Julie again on our wedding day!

I had the pleasure of having both Julie and her husband as photographers for our wedding. They were both fantastic. Completely professional and everything I hoped for with a photographer. She was with me from day one with all the crazy questions I had for her (sparklers/no sparklers, ferris wheel rides, all through the local amusement park) and she left me feeling stress-free! Because we were married on 07/04, we had the opportunity of free fireworks, which can turn out wonky in pictures sometimes. Every image she captured turned out perfect. I didn't even know they were there half the time because of how much is going on around you, but I now can see everything I missed thanks to them. I highly recommend Julie to any bride out there. The pictures are fantastic, and the packages are an amazing deal. Your pictures are worth a thousand words. Let Julie handle it.

Julie helped to make our wedding experience the best moment of our lives. From our engagement pictures on the streets of Hollidaysburg to capturing my mother's first photo of her entire family together, Julie didn't leave one stone unturned. Julie's attention to detail is what stood out most to me. She had an approach that was genuine and kind, but also very businesslike and she captured every photo that my wife asked her to get. I am so glad I chose Julie Buck as our wedding photographer. Choosing a photographer was one of the hardest wedding decisions I had to make because I wanted to make sure I chose someone that would capture all the right moments. Julie not only captured all the right moments but she captured some of the best action shots. I also liked how comfortable and relaxed she made me feel. I would recommend her to anyone. I purchased a package through Julie that included an engagement session and photography at our wedding. To begin, Julie was so easy to work with. We had scheduled our engagement photos to be in Pittsburgh, but the first day we scheduled them was supposed to be horrible stormy weather. It was not a problem at all to reschedule for the following week when the weather was perfect! We wanted our engagement photos to capture that city vibe with bridges, buildings, and alleys and were so thrilled with the way they turned out. Julie knew what time to head outside to get the perfect light and made us feel so comfortable throughout the process. Our expressions are relaxed and real. Just amazing.

Our wedding photos were fantastic as well. I actually had someone say to me that one of my photos was the most beautiful wedding photo he had ever seen. I'll take it! We were able to capture the warm colors of fall, but also great shots of our wedding party, our families, and party time at the reception. I am still having trouble deciding which photos to frame. There are so many that we love!

I looked around at Altoona Wedding Photographers as well as some from Pittsburgh prior to contacting Julie, whose style I liked and who was reasonably priced. I have to say that I am so thrilled with my decision. I know people who have spent way more on their wedding photographer and were so disappointed in the photos. Thanks, Julie for capturing our day and making us look great!

We hired Julie Buck Photography to shoot my daughter's wedding. I am so glad we did! Julie was professional and friendly, and her husband, Israel, who assisted her, was a joy to be around. Together, Julie and Israel put everyone at ease. I had every confidence in her ability as an artistic photographer, and she did not disappoint. The photos are amazing! I love that Julie spent more time on impromptu shots rather than posing everyone. Yes, we have some great posed photos, but I am absolutely in love with the candid ones. Thank you Julie and Israel. We loved having Julie as our photographer and would recommend her in a heartbeat. One of my biggest fears about my engagement and wedding photos was that they would look forced or overly staged, as I am not the most comfortable person in front of a camera. However, Julie has a personality that puts everyone present at ease. I didn’t feel the pressure to make every shot magical or memorable, I just went with the flow and was able to be myself. My comfortability was thanks in large part to Julies positive laid back air. She is extremely flexible and doesn’t have a rigid artistic perspective/style when it comes to shoots; she has a plethora of creative ideas, but is also willing to work with all of your ideas and the individual style of the couple. She captured every special moment that we wanted, and was able to incorporate shots with modern artistic flair. One of the best demonstrations of Julie’s artistic prowess and positive attitude came when we decided to incorporate our puppy into the wedding photos, about 10 minutes before we were set to start photographing. She was able to incorporate him into our shoot seamlessly and was completely unfazed by the sudden change in plans. Personally, I believe that Julie’s calming personality and artistic eye would be the right fit for any couple on their big day.

The best word I can think of to describe working with Julie Buck is “natural”. Shooting, posing, and editing all seemed completely effortless and produced amazing photographs. She really got to know us as a couple and adjusted her style to fit ours. Our ceremony was extremely private including only 6 people. Even in such an intimate setting, her presence was unobtrusive and discrete. She captured all of the important moments that we were hoping for, as well as candid moments of family and friends that we will cherish forever. As far as posed photographs, I really appreciated Julie’s honestly. During our engagement and wedding shoots she told us what looked good and what didn’t work without being pushy or harsh. She was so obviously committed to creating and capturing moments that any couple would want at this very special time. I am so very happy that we hired Julie to take our wedding photographs and would recommend her services to anyone.

Julie was extremely helpful! Not only did she take great pictures, but she was the perfect compliment to our wedding ceremony and reception. I cannot say enough good things about Julie Buck! She's so fun and comfortable to work with. I've used Julie Buck Photography for our wedding, different events, maternity and my son's newborn photos and everything turned out AMAZING!!!! It's was actually very difficult to pick our favorites whenever we got to see them all because we loved every. single. one. I don't know how she does it. Also, she takes the time to listen to what we want. I gave her a list of all the group photos and poses that we wanted and she took care of it all. I love that she takes all the stress off you, especially whenever you are the bride. I have her large gallery wraps hanging throughout my house and people always comment on them. Nothing compares! Whether you're looking for something unique, different or candid, timeless and elegant - you get exactly what you want from Julie. She's so easy to work with - extraordinary with small kids and everyone for matter. We were so pleased when we had tons of photos to choose from with an autumn family session done on our wedding anniversary last year. So much more than I could have hope for.
