Made the day!
I truly cannot express how incredibly happy I was to have Julie as part of my wedding day experience. We were scheduled to arrive on the morning of our ceremony, and an unexpected flight delay made shifted our timeline. Not only did Julie accommodate my circumstances—which included getting shuffled into a storage room to work as our our hotel room wasn’t ready yet—she was extraordinarily supportive and helped forgo any inadvertent “panic” the circumstances might have otherwise induced.
Beyond the “day of” chaos, Julie’s communication was timely and thorough. I was able to share a handful of inspiration photos and she provided recommendations on what might be best to have in advance to make the look exactly what I hoped it would be.
Julie also made the experience of having both my Makeup and Hair done incredibly comfortable and memorable. My husband and I were the only two attendees at our wedding, but Julie’s down to earth nature made her super easy to talk to (so much so that it felt like I had a friend to share in the experience with me).
I could not have been happier with the outcome of my Hair and Makeup—I was hoping for a “Rockabilly romance” type vibe and she nailed it. Additionally, the make up and hair lasted all the way through the entire ceremony and beyond the end of our photos, which included the humidity of our ceremony and photos at the Butterfly and Nature Conservatory before walking to the Southern Most Point and a walk through Mallory Square and down Duval street.
I can’t recommend Julie enough.

I contacted Julie through Wedding Wire for hair and makeup for my son’s wedding. She was so professional and responded quickly. On the day of the wedding, Julie came to our hotel and gave the bride, maid of honor, and me a salon style and picture-perfect makeup. As mother of the groom, I felt like I looked ten years younger. The bride was absolutely glowing, and Julie even helped us with a finicky bridal gown zipper. Thanks, Julie for a tremendous day of pampering. We will remember it always. -

I can't say enough good things about Julie. From her professionalism to her calm demeanor to her hair and makeup skills, I am so glad I went with her.
THE HAIR & MAKEUP: I wanted to look like myself, but better, and she went above and beyond my expectations. I shared with her some of my insecurities about my face (certain wrinkles that only show with foundation, not wanting to look overly bronzed since my neck is pale, etc.) and she worked with me to ensure I would love how I looked on my wedding day. She also did a great job with my mom, my SIL, and my MIL, all of varying ages and comfort with makeup. She was always punctual, transparent with pricing, and easily reachable with questions.
THE EXPERIENCE: Having an MUA who had the right demeanor was really important to me. I wanted my getting ready space to be calm, drama-free, and running on time. Julie kept all of the trains on track with multiple ladies to get ready, and she kept things lighthearted, fun, and stress-free! If you're going to have to see someone who isn't your future husband or mother at 7AM on your wedding day when you're nervous, jittery, and maybe a little tightly wound - believe me, you want it to be Julie. The time with her getting prepped helped me breathe and get in the right headspace for the day!
I highly recommend doing a trial if you're able to ahead of time. She gave me some helpful skincare tips to ensure my makeup would look perfect on the day of since I had a few months to prep - and it did! -

Just Perfect
Julie was awesome, she is amazing at what she does! My hair looked exactly like the picture I gave her, it was everything I hoped for! My makeup looked fabulous and not over done. I looked “Red Carpet Ready” to say the least! I can’t even put into words how thrilled I was with her work! I highly recommend Julie for a wedding or any special event!

Wonderful esperience
Over email, Jule was professional and brief. In person, she was warm, and reassuring, and so much fun!! I told her I don’t wear much makeup normally, and I wanted to look like myself but better. She nailed it. I didn’t feel overly glam, my hair was comfortable but pretty, and she helped with my wardrobe crisis and was truly one of the girls as we got ready in my hotel room. I would recommend her 100% I couldn’t be happier with my eperience. Thank you so much!! -

Wonderful!
Not sure where to begin with Julie. From the moment I messaged her, until the day of my wedding her communication was wonderful. I live 7 hours away, so having someone that communicated well was crucial to make it a stress free process. I decided last minute to get a haircut and Julie squeezed me in, I highly recommend it! She trimmed my dead ends and freshened up my bangs and prepped my hair beautifully the day prior, it also gave us a chance to talk about what I wanted for my wedding day hair and go over my inspo, since being so far away I was not able to do a trial. When my hair was done, it was time for makeup, wow! She did such a wonderful job and I felt beautiful! I got some sneak peaks from our photographer and I can’t believe how well my hair and make up turned out! If you’re on the fence on who to hire for your hair and makeup, no need to hesitate. You will not regret booking with Julie! She is wonderful and talented and I couldn’t recommend her enough. -

Julie is amazing!
Julie was absolutely incredible!! Her quick and concise communication, willingness to travel to me, and clear menu of services and prices made everything simple and stress free. Her calm, down to earth presence and ease of communicating kept me calm on the morning of the big day. She listened to what I wanted my hair and makeup to look like and it was like she took the vision right out of my head! Better yet, my hair and makeup stayed flawless through a rainy morning photo shoot, a windy sail, and an outdoor reception. I loved it so much I rocked my lashes and extensions for three days! I recommend her to anyone wanting to look and feel their most beautiful on their big day! -

Julie did my hair and makeup for my wedding day and it was perfect! I’m not from the area and was a little nervous to be having someone do my hair and makeup without any kind of trial. Julie did a fantastic job, I showed her pictures and she asked me some questions about my preference and style and she did exactly what I was envisioning. She was very responsive and quick to answer any questions or concerns that I had.
I would recommend her to any bride wanting their hair or makeup done for their big day! -

Julie is AMAZING! I did not do a trial since I was having a destination wedding and she just nailed it. She had the best communication of anyone I’ve worked with (and I’ve done a lot of hair and make up experiences). She developed a great day of schedule based off the information about my bridesmaids and their hair styles and finished early enough to have some time to relax before the chaos started. Not to mention I loved my hair!! She absolutely nailed it. I have very fine and thin hair so I was nervous I wasn’t going to be able to get the volume I was looking for but she made it work! She was kind but also gave her professional opinion on what style would look best with my idea of the day (based off of two hair styles I was between). I would book her again and again if I had events to book her for. -

As someone who doesn't normally wear make up and with the humidity of Key West, Julie made my makeup very natural and breathable. Professional, experienced and so sweet!
Julie was the hair stylist and makeup artist for both myself and my MOH on my wedding day on October 30 in key West. Julie was early to set up making sure to stick to our timeline, she made my MOH and my self feel so comfortable while she was working with us and she was easy to talk to (which was a huge bonus as I was a bundle of nerves). I work in the makeup industry so trusting my wedding day makeup to someone else was no small choice for me and I would choose Julie a million times over. I felt confident but still comfortable and my hair and makeup stood up to the key West humidity, as well as a little rain. My MOH and I both were beyond happy with the results and highly recommend Julie for any of you glaming needs! -

Julie has been a pleasure since I first came across her business three years ago. Unfortunately I was never able to visit the Keys to meet her in person beforehand. I have nothing but good things to say about her. She helped adjust my contract a couple of different times and always communicated very efficiently. Julie even provided touch ups before the ceremony started to my girls and I. I was pleasantly surprised she gave us small tubes of our lipstick to reapply later on as well. Debbie’s work was also fabulous, and everyone was just so happy with everything they had done! -

Julie does great groom’s hair too!
We found Julie through a recommendation from Jackie at First Flight. We contacted Julie about a year before the wedding. For our same sex wedding, we didn’t think about hair and makeup at first. We wanted to find someone to help our moms and sister. We were in the Keys and stopped in to meet Julie for a consultation. While we were there I found out she also cuts mens hair and gave me a great haircut. We decided to have her do the grooms hair as well. We stopped in for haircuts the week before the wedding and she came to our hotel suite the day off for everyone’s hair and makeup. We all looked great and it held up great with the heat and humidity (and even a brief rain shower) and lasted all the way to dancing at Sloppy Joes after the reception! Julie was very friendly and we enjoyed having an Ann Arbor connection all the way in Key West. I highly recommend Julie Hill for your wedding day hair and makeup! -

Julie is absolutely AMAZING! She made me (the bride) my mother, my MIL and SIL look simply stunning for my wedding. With a long day ahead of us, she made our experience fun and comfortable. Julie is of the utmost professional and uses all the best natural products. She did everything from full hair and makeup- including extensions and lashes. She even did an amazing cut & color on a traveling family member the day before the wedding. Julie left us looking and feeling great, and I couldn’t imagine my wedding day without her. I'm so relieved I found Julie for my wedding day. I envisioned soft, romantic curls (not tight spirals, or “prom hair” as I call it) and she gave me just that. She did all of my bridesmaids’ hair as well and they all looked AMAZING—unique and polished and like their best selves. On the day of she arrived early and was very efficient, staying on schedule with 9 girls to get through. She is also a very chill, hilarious, down to earth person and was so lovely to hang out with while getting ready.
I got tons of compliments on my hair and the curls stayed all night despite wearing my hair down in summer heat. Hire Julie and you will not be disappointed! -
