We loved having our reception here!
We had our reception at Julian’s and I would go back there in a heartbeat. Holly, the coordinator, is friendly, easy-going, transparent, and able to answer all of your questions (and I felt like I had a million). Planning a wedding is difficult and it is work, especially the months leading up. I recommend finding a good DJ and a good venue because those two vendors drive the flow of your wedding day. The ancillary staff at Julian’s, those who serve food, drink, and set-up are kind and extremely helpful. My guests were extremely complimentary of the venue overall. The character/architecture of the venue is charming, the food was awesome, and the price was right. Our wedding day ran smoothly: the food was excellent, the drinks were great, there is plenty of parking, and cleaning up was easy (as well as setting up!). I honestly did not worry about ANYTHING. I loved my wedding and even followed-up with Holly afterwards. We will definitely be back to work with Julian’s, whether it will be catering or using their smaller event space, Julian’s is a keeper. I highly recommend making a date to see this place if you are in the early stages of planning. We had our reception at Julian’s and I would go back there in a heartbeat. Julian's is a beautifully kept reception hall. The staff was very friendly and the prices very reasonable. If you already have a venue but need a caterer, they can do that too! They have a huge menu to choose from and the food is very good!Julian's is a beautifully kept reception hall. The staff was very friendly and the prices very reasonable. They were terrible at getting back to me. The hall was beautiful, but I had many problems getting ahold of them to make sure everything was the way I wanted it.They were terrible at getting back to me. As a native of Washington, I am well aware of the high quality of food Julian's catering provides. Their food is always delicious and hot, zero complaints there. However, my main complaint is regarding their invoices, contracts, and billing. They are not transparent in this and I had several surprise charges when my final invoice came 2 weeks before my event! We initially booked this venue 14 months out from out date and were not given any official prices other than the cost of the hall, gratuity (17%), and tax. We were not given any papers with any prices at all (which if even after this review you still decide to book there, please get all of their costs and contracts before deciding!). Approximately 5 months before our wedding, we received the contracts, which had the gratuity increase from 17-19% (no big deal, people deserve to make good money). I reviewed the contracts and finally signed 2 months before my event. I went through everything and had a solid number of what I was anticipating in paying and gave them my final number before their due date ~2 weeks. I received my invoice for $1,000 more than expected. I emailed the main person who did not answer any of my questions regarding my invoice and kept telling me "we have to pay our people." She sent me a second email basically stating "we need to resolve this today to avoid any issues for the wedding." I eventually email her back stating that these charges go against our agreed documentation and she keeps telling me "we added these charges to pay our people." Not only was I given surprise charges, but also never told about them and they directly contradict our signed agreements. This is an extreme hassle to deal with the final days before our wedding. If these charges were given to me when I signed the agreement, this may be a different story. However, it feels as though they were trying to sneak additional charges in and basically threatening the quality of the wedding over it.
