Our elopement on December 8th, 2024, was an absolute dream come true, and so much of that is thanks to Julia! From start to finish, she was not only professional but also one of the warmest and most inclusive people we’ve ever met. As an LGBTQ+ couple, it was so important for us to work with someone who not only respected but celebrated who we are, and she did just that and more. Her kindness, enthusiasm, and wholehearted support made us feel so seen and cherished throughout the entire process.
She brought such a light, happy energy to the day that any lingering nerves melted away. Everything felt completely stress-free, and we were able to fully immerse ourselves in the moment, knowing she had everything under control. She has a true gift for keeping things natural and fun while capturing stunning, heartfelt photos. Speaking of the photos—I’m head over heels for them! She didn’t just take pictures; she captured the love, joy, and intimacy of our day in a way that feels timeless.
If you’re looking for an LGBTQ+ friendly photographer who will make you feel celebrated, cared for, and completely at ease, I can’t recommend Julia enough. She’s not just an artist; she’s an ally, and she made our day truly unforgettable. -

Julia is the absolute best. My husband and I hired her for our wedding in Vermont. She drove from Maine for a reasonable travel fee alongside her already reasonable pricing. You get what you pay for, and the photos we received were amazing. We intend on using her services for future events because we had such a positive experience. We highly recommend Julia Wake Photography! -

We couldn’t be happier with Julia! From the very beginning, she was professional, organized, and so easy to work with. On the day of the wedding, Julia made us feel completely comfortable and captured everything so naturally, the big moments and the little in between ones we didn’t even realize were happening.
The photos are absolutely stunning and truly tell the story of our day. Every time we look at them, we’re right back in those moments. Friends and family can’t stop complimenting our pictures, and we’re so grateful to have such beautiful memories to look back on forever.

We’re obsessed with our photos!
My partner and I were so impressed with Julia’s work. From start to finish she was professional, fun to work with, and made my
partner and I feel very comfortable. She walked us through poses at several locations and made everything feel natural and like she was capturing a moment rather than a pose. We are obsessed with how these photos came out!! If you’re looking for a photographer who can make you feel comfortable and confident in front of a camera, Julia is your girl! -

My fiance and I had the opportunity to do our engagement shoot with Julia and we could not be happier with the experience and the results! Before the shoot, we were able to communicate easily with her over text and send ideas to her that she did her best to incorporate into the shoot. I was initially nervous because it was the first time we were taking official photos for the wedding and being in front of the camera is not something I’m very used to. From the minute we met up for the shoot, Julia’s presence and energy immediately put me at ease. She is bubbly, funny and fantastic at giving direction without actually posing you so it just felt like we were on a date and having fun. The pictures she captured truly portray the nature of our relationship as a couple and were exactly what we were envisioning! I cannot recommend her services enough, it was an absolute pleasure to work with her and I look forward to printing the pictures for our home! -

Julia captured my fiancé’s and I engagement and it was such a great experience. I was not expecting getting engaged let alone a photographer, and I don’t often get my photos taken but Julia made us feel comfortable and made the experience fun! It was a very important moment for us and I will treasure these pictures forever. The photos came out amazing, the poses were playful and natural. The best part was that she gave us some space for us to take it in. Julia was able to give us sneak peaks the day of. Our engagement was the Friday before thanksgiving and we got our pictures the Tuesday after thanksgiving which to me was fast turnaround and she kept us in the loop about any updates, and I appreciated the open communication. I would totally recommend Julia to capture special moments like these. -
