Bethany is so talented and was such a pleasure to work with! Cost wise her services are worth it without breaking the bank and would highly reccomend her for any stationary or calligrahpy needs. Bethany was so easy to work with and incredibly talented! She put together a proposal quickly, had a very easy platform to pay and view her proposal. Bethany created a beautiful chalkboard display and our seating chart for my wedding at Honeysuckle Hill. She is incredible! I was so impressed throughout the entire process. Her entire catalog of work is beautiful, and she brought our vision to life. She definitely went the extra mile for us while working on our seating chart! In addition to her outstanding artistic talent, she is very organized, which facilitated easy communication and approval of designs. I cannot recommend her enough! -

10/10 would recommend Bethany for your calligraphy wedding needs! Her calligraphy services were part of an all-inclusive package we chose through our venue (Chestnut Ridge), and she did not disappoint! Chestnut Ridge has a chalkboard above their bar, and Bethany created the perfect chalkboard wedding sign! It highlighted our signature drinks with drawings of our two kitties and also listed the beers/wines available! She also printed off smaller versions of the chalkboard design to put on the outside bar too.
I just want to add that, although Bethany did not create our invitations/save the dates/etc., I have been following Bethany on social media (IG: joyunscripted) for about 2-3 years now, and her work is just absolutely breathtaking. You won't be disappointed hiring Bethany for all of your calligraphy needs! -

Working with Joy Unscripted was amazing! Bethany was awesome and created truly unique parts to our wedding venue setup. She created our seating chart on a mirror, our dessert menu design, as well as the chalkboard drink menu. Her handwriting is insanely neat, unique, and beautiful! Joy Unscripted was absolutely awesome and very responsive! We had Bethany make the chalkboard at our bar at Chestnut Ridge and it was more than we could have asked for. She had us write a couple ideas of what we wanted (using her page which had a ton of inspo!) and then list our alcohol options. That's it. She got back to us a week before our wedding with the sample she put together and we didn't change a thing! It was exactly what we envisioned it would be and then some. She came in early on our wedding day and was done in no time. It was flawless and she made the process so simple. I would definitely recommend Bethany to anyone who needs wedding calligraphy as she has the perfect artistic mind to help anyone's vision become reality! -

My husband (yay!) and I got married back in November of this year. As you can imagine, planning a wedding with COVID-19 in mind was very stressful. However, we were fortunate to work with such attentive & helpful vendors, one being Bethany from Joy Unscripted. Bethany helped with the calligraphy for our seating chart and bar chalkboard design.
For the seating chart, I sent her a image from Pinterest and she took that and brought our vision to life!! There were also several last minute changes to our guest list and Bethany was very accommodating and responsive - making the changes an easy process for us.
For the chalkboard design, we were not sure where to begin! With Charlie and I residing in Raleigh, we were interested in a simple design tied to the city. She came back with the city skyline, which was PERFECT! We received so many compliments on this design and couldn’t have been happier.
Working with Bethany was such a pleasure! We will definitely work with her again for any calligraphy needs :) -

Beautiful work from Joy Unscripted (Bethany)! First of all, her work is absolutely stunning!!! I highly recommend following her on Instagram, as she gives you an inside look to her process and everyday business work!
I contacted Bethany just about 2 months before my wedding day in search of day-of signage. She took my requests on short notice, and she was so easy to work with from the very beginning! I changed my mind and updated our invoice 10+ times, and Bethany just rolled with it! I really appreciate her flexibility!
I was planning my wedding from out of town (From Ohio), and Bethany was super flexible allowing me to Amazon Prime my pieces to her. She went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with my chalkboards! She worked with me on pickups and dropoffs...bending her schedule a bit to help me out!
And that leads me to my next point -- I was a very small order for Bethany, as I only used her services for day-of signage. However, I never felt like a "small order." She is a great business lady, and I appreciate her treating my little order just like any other! She is extremely talented and takes care of her clients as if they are her best friends!
I love supporting small businesses, and I loved supporting Joy Unscripted for my big day. I would highly recommend Bethany for day-of signage or any other wedding paper goods you may need! And again, follow her on Instagram - You'll see the talent at work! :) -

Bethany is so talented and kind!!
She was so helpful when creating our wedding invitations. We weren’t sure what we wanted but knew what we definitely didn’t want. We didn’t give Bethany much information and she ended up creating the most beautiful invitations. I immediately fell in love with the flowers she drew for our envelope liner. Then, I fell even more in love with the mountains she added to the invitations. Everything looked beautiful while staying true to our style.
We ended up ordering wooden coasters last minute and they turned our great. All our guests loved them and are now displaying in their homes.
I can’t wait to have another excuse to work with Bethany again!!

Bethany was a joy to work with. We live in Orlando, but our son’s wedding was in Maggie Valley with the reception at Laurel Ridge CC in Waynesville. Stressful to be so far away, but Bethany made the experience much less stressful. Always cheerful, positive and accommodating to our requests. She did the programs for the wedding ceremony, and gorgeous signs for church and reception. The best was the escort cards for table seating. They were bookmarks with tassels! The tables were Chapter numbers, and the table arrangements were vintage books, lanterns and flowers. We had so many compliments on the bookmarks which the guests took home as a remembrance.
Highly recommend this wonderful young lady to make your wedding memorable, unique and beautiful! -

Amazing and creative!
Bethany is truly amazing!! She created signs, place cards, seating chart and chalkboard bar sign for our wedding. Bethany is the sweetest, most talented girl out there! Our chalkboard at Chestnut Ridge was SWOON WORTHY! When talking with Bethany, we were concerned that we had so many beverage options, that the board would feel way too busy. BUT - Bethany made it all happen. When she sent the proof, it only took the first try and we were IN LOVE! Everything that we had asked for, she brought to life in one single try.

Joy Unscripted was a late addition to our wedding vendor list when our wedding planner convinced us that we did NOT want to add 'Table Cards' to the list of things we were doing ourselves. Best decision EVER! Bethany created fantastic scrolls we rolled up and placed in the mini steins we gave our guests. And the Table Cards were equally as wonderful, with little beer stein icons to match the scrolls. Bethany was fun, friendly, professional and very timely in communication back and forth. 11 out of 10 rating for Joy Unscripted! -

We first learned of Joy Unscripted when her services were included with our venue package, but we quickly learned of Bethany's amazing talent and knew we needed to incorporate her work in other ways! We absolutely loved collaborating with her. My husband woodworks and wanted to make the signage for our wedding. Bethany was totally open to using his creations and made the unique pieces look absolutely stunning with her gorgeous lettering! We also asked her to do the big task of drawing our cat and dog on the chalkboard for us - their portraits blew us away. Literal spitting images! I never thought we would do custom invitations, but I am so happy we did! Bethany, the designer, made our wedding feel special and personal from the very beginning. I cannot put into words how impressed we were with her creativity and beautiful invitations. She also designed our programs and chalkboard designs. AND! She had a customized wax seal for our invitations. If you ever are on the fence about custom invitation suites, do them and do them with Bethany!!!! -

Colleen Sent on 06/17/2018Bethany of Joy Unscripted is the best, do not look any further for your wedding day calligraphy needs! Bethany was the recommended calligrapher through our wedding venue. Bethany worked within our budget to help create a package for all of our signage needs, including escort cards, a bar menu chalkboard, and additional signage needs. She was highly communicative and professional throughout this process and answered any questions that we had. She collaborated with our caterer to make sure our escort cards were helpful for the catering staff for our plated dinner while maintaining the elegance of our overall aesthetic. Bethany even matched the ink color for our escort cards and table numbers to our table runners! In addition to the signs we commissioned her for, she also made us a sweet Mr. and Mrs. sign for our sweetheart table that she surprised us with day of. We felt like her services were a great value for the price and were simply gorgeous.
