  Best. Vendor. Choice. Ever.

  Choosing Joseph Esser to be our wedding photographer was definitely one of the best planning decisions we made! From the day we first contacted him to the day of our wedding, he was always so patient and kind to us. He responded to all of our questions promptly and never made us feel like we were asking stupid questions (even though we probably were, ha).
  
  On the day of our wedding, he showed up on time and was so nice to all of our family, friends, and other vendors. Even though I was running 30-45 minutes behind schedule (my florist completely messed up my bouquet and my mom literally had to make me a new bouquet), Joseph was super understanding and kept reassuring me not to worry. Despite the delay, he made sure to get all the photos that I had on my shot list without making us feel rushed. It was also a hot day and he made every effort to keep us in the shade for the photos so we wouldn't be squinting or sweating. Everyone in our wedding party told us that our photographer was awesome and made them feel comfortable, even those who tend to be camera-shy.
  
  Less than a month after our wedding, Joseph emailed us to say that our photos were ready! I had heard from other married friends that their photographers took 2-3 months, so this quick turnaround was such a pleasant surprise! Our photos are all SO beautiful. We did not have a fancy wedding, but Joseph made our wedding look like it belonged in a magazine. I am tremendously grateful to have beautiful photos to keep for the rest of our lives. Joseph is just a super talented, genuinely nice guy who wants to make sure your day is stress-free and that you have gorgeous photos to remember it. Hire him for your wedding - you won't regret it. Thank you so much for everything, Joseph!!!

  We booked Joseph a couple months before our engagement photo shoot. We looked at his work through instagram and we both were amazed by his work. He was able to answer all of our questions and give us great recommendations in locations as to what we wanted as a backdrop. We went with his underwater photo session in addition to the land shoot. We were very anxious as to what to expect the day of the shoot. He was great in dictating us how to pose and what kind of shot he was trying to achieve When we arrived he was ready to shoot and with all the previous emails we had with him he knew what we wanted. He was extremely patient, professional and re-did a lot of shots to get that perfect moment. The water session was great. He had his assistant paddle us out to calm waters, worked on getting the perfect shot.
  After the photo shoot, he gave us a sample of what we would be getting and the stand alone sample was worth the money IMO by itself. We asked other vendors on pricing and the value we got out of Joseph was so much better off the bat with our initial phone calls and emails.

  Joseph and his team captured in a spectacular video our vow renewal ceremony. My husband and I are sooo happy and grateful that we hired Joseph to film our special day. They were very professional, they kindly guided us to record the most beautiful footage. Thank you for the most magical video!!! :)

We ended up doing a last minute engagement shoot with Joseph a few days before our wedding, and did the most amazing shoot (he made two people who aren't very good at smiling smile a ton) at Lanikai Beach at sunrise themed to our favorite movie : ) We were so genuinely thrilled when we got teasers of the shoot the day of with easily the best photos we have of the two of us, period. Joseph put us totally in our natural element and we had so much fun. A few days later, Joseph and his team photographed our wedding at the Halekulani, and were amazing. The teasers look so good. We can't wait to see the rest. We would highly, highly recommend Joseph Esser and his team to anyone getting married, engaged, or just looking for portraits in Hawaii. As a photographer/filmmaker myself, the photos mattered most to me in this wedding, and I couldn't be more happy with Joseph's work.

  joseph & his team were amazing, as soon as he walked in the room I remembered why it is helpful to hire professionals to do their thing. he had everything under control, even minor things like a stray paper or something out of place they noticed and took care of. he had a good vibe and I think some of my friends had little crushes on him which was pretty cute. would definitely recommend to any bride not only for his obvious talent, but for his professionalism and positive vibe which is definitely helpful on your wedding day:)

  My mother-in-law actually found Joseph via Instagram and decided then and there that he was to be our wedding photographer! I'll admit, I'm not a huge fan of getting my picture taken, especially by a professional who is going to make be dance around and do a bunch of poses, but that's what your wedding day entails right!? That being said, Joseph is a true professional and he's got a great sense of humor and an awesome personality. The moment we met him I knew he was our guy. All of us clicked, and I knew we were in good hands (hey, I know it's all about the bride, but I wanted to look good too!). Joseph did a fantastic job scheduling the photos and kept us on track so we had plenty of time to hang with our guests and enjoy our own wedding. I told him from the start, I can't smile for more than a few frames or I start to look like a total goober. Dude had some serious jokes and just his natural demeanor kept everything light and fun. Needless to say, the end result was out of this world. In fact, his photos were so good, our entire house is covered with prints from our wedding day. You've been warned: Joseph is the real deal, and your walls will be filled with his photos.

  Joseph's work speaks for itself. He is truly a talented artist, with an eye for beauty, and attention to detail. Joseph was a delight to have as a wedding photographer. From the prearrangements, to the actual wedding, he was professional, accommodating, positive, and friendly. He was quick to respond to emails and phone calls. Before the wedding he sent us a wedding timeline to give us an idea of how much time we would like to book him. On the day of the wedding, when he came to take some pre-wedding pictures of the ladies, he took the time to make everything (dresses, rings, accessories, etc.) look perfect-- I really appreciated his attention to detail. I also appreciated his direction. He gave us direction on where to stand, where to look, and what to do to make us look the best we could. Not only did my husband and I really enjoy him, all of our guests couldn't stop talking about what a fun photographer he was. He made our wedding day a smooth and enjoyable experience for us.
  The pictures took about 5 weeks to get. Joseph put them up on Pictage first, and a few days later we received the discs with our images in the mail. We were SO happy with the way our pictures turned out. He has a true gift of capturing moments, and I am so lucky to have had him as our photographer on such a meaningful day for us. I would definitely recommend him to anyone and everyone.

  Joseph Esser Photography was recommended to me by a photographer friend from CA (I really value her opinion). I checked out his website and blog and really loved the way he captures and edits. I also booked our videographer through Joseph Esser Photography. I booked Image Creations. I hadn’t heard of the video team until I talked with Joseph and looked at his website. I was grateful for the partnership between the two, which cut out any added time of trying to negotiate between two separate vendors. Joseph handled all of those details. He communicated very clearly and made me very comfortable and confident with working with him.
  My husband and I were married in Hawaii without friends, family, or guests. I expected a small team for our simple affair. But in fact, the photography and videography team outnumbered our group of pastor, witness, bride and groom.
  Joseph and the video team worked seamlessly so that my husband and I really enjoyed the process. Joseph was detailed oriented making sure our product would be the best—he constantly stopped to make sure my dress, flowers, and hair were in place!!
  We received a few teaser images a few weeks after the wedding and then the link and CD of images about a month after the wedding. He delivered an excellent product-- polished, professional, stunning images!!!
  I whole-heartedly recommend Joseph Esser Photography to couples or anyone looking for a photographer!!!

  I couldn't have asked for a better photographer. Joseph was very flexible with our package. He was very responsive to all emails and correspondence. Joseph is very personable and made taking pictures fun. We gave him a list of all our must have pictures and he made sure that we got every single one of them.   I realize that it has been 5 months since I was married and I didn't write a review. Oops!
  WELL.. Joseph Esser and his assistant were fantastic to work with. Very professional, kind, fun and very talented. They made taking pictures a lot of fun for the whole wedding party and everyone involved. They were great with us asking them to take specific pictures as well.
  The picture quality was simply AMAZING! Everyone has absolutley loved them and they don't only look great on the computer, but developed as well. People have said they almost don't look real they are so well done. Even the packaging that the disks came in were beautiful.

  I love all of our wedding pictures. Completely professional, flexible, easy to work with and most important excellent photographer. Captured all the moments of the wedding and reception. He is by far the best and would HIGHLY recommend him.

  My fiance had just come back from a deployment and we had planned our wedding in three weeks. I had found Joseph on facebook and was able to see his photos on his website.   He has to be the nicest guy and he's so easy to get along with, which makes working with him even better. We felt so relaxed and so comfortable while doing our couple photos after our wedding ceremony and all of the pictures came out beautifully. I would definitely refer him to another bride and we would love to work with him again!

  Joseph did a great job. He was very calm and welcome to different ideas for pictures during the wedding. He handled the dreadful family pictures very professionally and took amazing pictures. Joseph was also very prompt on getting the pictures to us as well as the cd. His prices are extremely affordable for engaged couples just starting their careers. Thanks Joseph

On the big day Joseph was the first person I ran into, because of his easy going personality it made it very easy to relax. Joseph was amazing to work with. He was very professional but yet a lot of fun. He had creative ideas that we absoultly loved. He captured all of our natural moments at the right time. Our pictures turned out fabulous.

This is a true compliment from a high maintenance NYC couple. He puts you at ease with his friendly, kind nature and honest communication. He is a natural talent with an insightful eye for capturing the joy of the moment. He is very knowledgeable about the secret locales on the island to get the best light and natural backdrop. We benefited from this on our evening trash-the-dress session. His website portfolios demonstrate this.

  Joseph was a pleasure to work with. We initially worked with him for our engagement photos and because we loved the pictures we hired him for our wedding. He responds quickly and his professionalism during our wedding was great. Never disturbed our evening and was extremely flexible to our wants that day.
