Jose was a delight to work with. He had great ideas for backdrop, poses, etc. (that we probably wouldn't have thought of) and lead to results we are just thrilled with. He gave us all the time we needed and then some. He was no doubt the right choice to capture these moments for us on our special day. I am confident he will be the right choice for yours as well. -

We decided to elope a month before we got to Belize, so our planning process was really short. Jose was added to our elopement package and I could not have picked a better photographer. He is extremely friendly and professional and made the day really great. Jose also had a really fast turnaround time with the photos and great communication throughout the entire process. We hired Jose for two events in August of 2024 in San Pedro. Jose was reliable. He stayed in communication and arrived as scheduled. He was professional when on site. Selecting from his proofs was an easy process. The final photographs are exceptional and I could not be more pleased. I would use Jose again and would recommend him to anyone needing pictures in San Pedro! -

Our wedding was originally scheduled in April 2020. After an exhaustive search for the best photographer in Ambergris Caye, I chose Jose Luis Zapata, only to learn he was already booked! Covid happened and our wedding was postponed. 4 years later, it felt like it had been fate when I was able to book with Jose for our wedding at Victoria House.
I am not a picture taker. In fact, I hate taking pictures, so I was very nervous about wedding photos. I really only had one request; sunset shots! We planned the wedding around those. Jose was amazing! Not only is he a fantastic photographer, but he is extremely kind, helpful, and accommodating. He made sure we got the best photos possible and worked hard to get them to us quicker than usual, which was greatly appreciated. His photography and editing style are both amazing and the photos turned out beyond beautiful. We are so so happy and will definitely connect with Jose when we are in Belize again. 10/10, would highly recommend!!! -

My husband and I did a honeymoon shoot in believe in December of 2021 and through the course of moving and life we could no longer access our photos. we absolutely loved the work he did and were ready to have them framed in our new house. Once we decided to get married in Belize, I knew we had to have Jose as our photographer and he and his wife did an AMAZING job! They were responsive, and captured our small wedding so beautifully, going above and beyond by creating a highlight video for us and making sure to get all the shots I had wanted. It did take awhile to get our photos back, but they were so worth the wait! We had so many amazing shots to choose from -- my favorite were actually the candids -- captured the vibe of the day so well. Forever thankful that we have these memories! -

Jose Luis was simply amazing! My husband and I eloped to Belize from Massachusetts in April, and I am just beyond impressed by how incredible Jose Luis was in every way. First, he is incredibly kind and professional and his positive attitude added so much to our special day. Second, Jose Luis is an excellent communicator - he replied to every email very promptly and answered any and all questions that we had. Lastly (and most important of all), our pictures are also absolutely stunning! My husband and I could not be more pleased with how they turned out - they exceeded all of our expectations. Jose Luis was able to not only capture the visually stunning scenery, lighting, etc., but also our unadulterated joy in every photo. I cannot recommend Jose Luis enough - he is incredible! -

Jose and his wife were very friendly and easy to work with. They moved around the wedding and reception smoothly and got some great shots. Being from the island he was very knowledgable about timing and golden hour and the best spots to shoot at. From scheduling to getting the final gallery, everything was perfect. I highly recommend JLZ for anyone getting married in Belize! -

Jose was wonderful to work with. He was very responsive to all of my questions/requests/changes. We had rain the day of our wedding which required us to push the time back. He was very flexible and accommodating. Jose is kind and friendly, an absolute pleasure to work with. He asked several times if there were any more shots we wanted. I could not wait to see the photos. I asked for a sneak peek & he quickly edited a photo and sent it to me. Turn around time was quite reasonable. And the photos were OMGEEEE AMAZING! Jose and his wife Perlita are a perfect package. So easy going, sweet, and you can tell they really love what they do. He also was amazing working with us and the Covid situation. We’ve done 2 shoots with Jose (Luis) and his photos cover my house. I only wish I was local so he could do all our family photos! We’ll have to settle for vacation shoots :) -

We had a destination wedding in Belize at the Portofino Resort and needed a photographer. Jose and team was recommended by the resort and we could not have made a decision then taking their advice. Jose was prompt, efficient, super creative and just plain nice to work with. We did an evening with his team trashing our outfits on a small private beach during sunset and the images came out particularly stunning. We could not be happier with the results. -

We hired Jose Luis to photograph our small wedding at our villas. He offered affordable and flexible packages and his skill and professionalism did not disappoint. He was kind, friendly and could have easily been mistaken as an invited guest because of how well he got along with everyone without being the least bit intrusive. Our wedding photos are beautiful. His candid shots captured the joy and laughter so impeccably that we are still able to relive that day each time we look at his photos. Our epic plans for our oceanfront Belize wedding got derailed quite a bit from the outskirts of a hurricane. Our wedding planner at Signature Belize Weddings and Events pulled off a miracle and helped salvage the day. But our photographer team, Jose Luis and his wife Perlita were truly amazing. They arrived in the storms and got some great "getting ready pictures for us"... and went back and forth in the rain between the 2 condos to get pics of the Guys getting ready/ hanging out too. They managed to capture a couple cool shots of the ceremony and reception set up so we at least know how beautiful everything would've looked. And they were SO sweet, accommodating, and... -

I could write pages of how amazing Jose Luis Zapata was to work with. Everything from our communication, to the ease of his online gallery, to his professionalism was the best experience we could have asked for. Neither my husband or I are very comfortable in front of the camera, and we had never had professional photos taken together. He made our experience fun and easy, and our wedding photos were stunning! He delivered truly beautiful pictures capturing our special day and our love for each other.
