Amazing, Fun, Great to work with!
We found Jonathan here on WeddingWire and fell in love with his photography style. We first got to work with him on our engagement photos. It was there when we realized how easy and fun Jonathan made getting our photos taken was. He then went above and beyond with our expectations for our wedding day photos. He captured so much of the love, fun, and emotions of the day. Looking through our photos, we truly can relive the moments of the day. Jonathan does an amazing job of getting some really unique shots as well that make your pictures even more special! Thank you Jonathan and his brother for being a part of our special day! -

I met Jonathan at the OBX Wedding Fest and he was really easy going and his photos were gorgeous. I decided to book him because his prices are very affordable. He was very responsive throughout the process and even got on the phone with us to discuss the timeline of the day because we wanted to do a first look and group photos before the ceremony. I ended up pranking my husband with first look pictures and his best man in a wedding dress and Jonathan was crucial in managing to pull that off. We received sneak peek pictures like a week and a half after the wedding and the rest of our photos came about 1.5-2 weeks after that! They are stunning. He made us feel comfortable, he was funny and we are very happy with the photos!! I highly recommend Jonathan! He's a rockstar!Jonathan Pillow Photography's reply:

Hiring Jonathan was one of the best decisions on hiring vendors that we made! From the moment we met him, we knew he was perfect. He is down to earth and easy and fun to work with. Jonathan and his partner captured so many moments! I swear they were every where all at once making sure that they captured absolutely everything! Even my wedding coordinator said he is hands down the best photographer she has seen! He did our engagement photos as well and they were just beautiful! Jonathan was an amazing photographer for our wedding. I'm not the most comfortable when it comes to pictures but Jonathan made it fun and easy and helped guide us during our photo session. We had so much fun during our couples photoshoot! I would recommend Jonathan to be your wedding photographer! -

We met Jonathan at the OBX Wedding Expo in March 2020, and knew immediately that we wanted him to be our photographer. He was so relaxed, and able to easily talk to us. And his pictures are absolutely gorgeous. He did an amazing engagement photo session with us on the Duck Boardwalk about a year before our wedding, and we knew we made the right choice. He made the experience fun for two people who were more than a little uncomfortable in front of the camera. And on our wedding day, he kept our whole wedding party moving quickly, but still managed to get all the shots we needed. I've never experienced wedding photos being run that smoothly. And we definitely got a nice variety of shots.
We also rented our photobooth through Jonathan, and it was a welcome addition to the reception. Our guests loved getting the strips as a keepsake, or to send to themselves, and we will cherish the book our guests contributed to. -

Could not have had anyone better!
Where do I start?! Booking Jonathan was easily one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. First of all, we loved the spontaneous nature of his photography, not super posed, but a documentation of happy moments. We talked with several photographers in our wedding planning process and when we talked with Jonathan on the phone for the first time, we hit it off. He was easy to talk to and we knew we’d get along well. The idea of being followed around by a photographer was a little nerve-wracking for us but every time he had us in front of the camera he made us feel comfortable. Jonathan included an engagement session so we could get to know each other before our wedding day and he made us look like naturals. We definitely didn’t feel that way at first but by the end, he had us feeling much more comfortable with his direction and humor.
After COVID hit (2 months before our should-have-been wedding) we needed to move our wedding date a year out. Re-booking Jonathan was a priority for us, and he was so flexible in the process of moving our date. Fast forward a year, we were really excited to work with him again for our wedding. He brought the same professionalism, humor and good vibes to our wedding day that he did for our engagement session. His second shooter was great to work with as well. They did whatever they needed to do to “get the shot”, including wading into a muddy marshy area to get an awesome shot of us on a dock. Throughout the night they were not intrusive, I didn’t really notice them as we danced and enjoyed our guests, yet they still got the amazing spontaneous shots.
All in all, his work speaks for itself and needs no explanation of how amazing it is… but I will still say it… his work is AMAZING. The posed couple’s shots he took were breathtaking and the rest of the spontaneous shots he got at the wedding truly captured our amazing day. The compliments from family and friends on how beautiful our photos are continue to affirm what we already knew - Jonathan Pillow is top notch. So don’t waste a second, just book him!

jonathan is amazing at what he does. he captures perfect pictures in the perfect moments and doesn't make you feel awkward or weird. my now husband even said when we were doing our engagement session with jonathan “that he was extremely nervous & thought it would be so weird” and he loved jonathan too. i only have a sneak peek of my wedding photos but based on those i know i’m going to be obsessed with them.
if your looking for a great photographer who knows how to have fun & make your day incredibly enjoyable make sure you book with him. so incredibly glad i did. thank you again! -

I can’t say enough good things about how great Jonathan and his sister were as a wedding photographers. We got our pictures back exactly when they said we would and they are all amazing. I really can’t thank them enough for making sure we had beautiful photos to remember our day! -

Jonathan is so great to work with, he is literally the best in the OBX. He is flexible, super creative, and takes amazing photos. All of my other vendors raved about Jonathan's talents and they were absolutely right, Jonathan took amazing photos (we were able to preview a few during the wedding and I can't wait to see the final product!) and has the best personality and attitude while doing it. He took the time to understand the photos we were interested in, while also being creative enough to know what it would take to get the best shots. I can't say enough about how great it was to have him capture our wedding. We'll be back to the OBX and will definitely use Jonathan again to capture future moments! -

Best Photographer
I live in Virginia and had my wedding in Hill Devil Hills. Jonathan was excellent at communicating everything, showed up before I expected and captured everything I’d hope to have and more. He was genuine, professional and his talent shows in his work. If you are looking for the perfect person to capture your big day, engagement or family photos, I highly recommend Jonathan. -

I mean this guy and his amazing wife know how to work a camera ;) It's crazy when you're friends and family are all over the place, but Jonathan and his wife directed us perfectly. He guided me from begging to end. He even helped me to know when to walk down the isle since we want it to be a surprise for the groom. I recommend him and his wife 100% and having Tony Joseph ( Idoobxweddings) as the officiant because this team just works so beautifully together. They are all so in sync and intuitive. When I finally received all my wedding photos, I just wanted to cry, I think I did haha, but it's just so magical the moments he captured. I am an artist myself and so it helped to connect with someone like him because he loves to bring out eye popping color and capture such artistic compositions. These aren't just wedding photos, these tell a story. Once I was able to get them to my whole group of family and friends, everyone said they could not pick which one they liked the most because every single one was just too good. Thank you Jonathan and you're beautiful wife for memories that will last a life time and for sharing your talents.
