Did he just say Canada?

So here is the thing... I have known Johnathan for a long long time, he has been an amazing DJ that I have seen play countless times. Needless to say he has been a good friend and has always been my "Dream DJ". When my now wife and I became engaged we decided we wanted to get married in the Maritimes of Canada.

Well, as we are both from Sarasota this makes things a little more difficult... We both work in the wedding industry we are very fortunate to know what we think are the best vendors in the area. We were a little out of our comfort zone having this all done in Canada, not only did we not know many vendors there but we were also challenged with finding the best talent to make our day amazing. And let me tell you we were having allot of trouble finding a good DJ...

Not to dive into too many details, but a few months after we were engaged we were lamenting about how we would LOVE to have Jonathan up there and how he is the perfect DJ for what we were looking for. Then what felt like the next day we got a call... Johnathan was willing to travel all the way from Sarasota to New Brunswick Canada!

As Johnathan is a true legend in the Sarasota area we could not believe our fortune. As everyone who books with Johnathan knows, he is not just a DJ... he is a true performer. As a singer, Johnathan performs incredible and powerful songs, and often times you wont even notice its him singing. You will hear the music and think "Wow thats really good" then turn and look and BAM! You see Johnathan doing what he does best.

Our day was incredible.... Johnathan has a way of making his events so special. We danced the night away, and had the most incredible and memorable time of both my and my wife's lives.

All of this to say that I can't recommend him enough. And Johnathan! Thank you again, you really made everything extra special.

P.H.E.N.O.M.E.N.A.L!!!!! Best DJ to get the crowd hyped up!

We saw Jonathan performing at a friend's wedding last year and knew immediately we wanted him! He made everything so easy and explained how we didn't have to choose every song throughout the evening, that he reads the crowd and knows when to change to song or when the crowd loves what he's playing. He sang Andrea Bocelli at dinner that brought tears to almost everyone's eyes. He entertained the crowd and they absolutely loved him! Highly recommend!

Beyond Amazing

Jonathan and his team did everything you could only dream of to make our day absolutely perfect! They were super professional, fun, and got everyone up and dancing!! There is nothing more I could’ve asked for in a DJ! He’s got it all!

The Bride - He made our wedding an absolute blast!

Best night of my life and the best wedding decision I made was having Jonathan Cortez perform at my reception and after party. I can’t thank him enough for the good vibes all night long! He is exceptional and I truly feel like he made the entire night. Not only is he an amazing dj he is such a talented performer guests could hardly believe he wasn’t lip singing, because he is THAT good. The only thing I would have done differently is put him right in the middle of the dance floor when he performed! He made my after party “Club Opps” dreams come true and our friends and family are still talking about the amazing time they had. Even our older relatives stayed until midnight. If I can give you any advice - I personally would not have a wedding unless Jonathan was there.

Best Entertainer Out There!

I came across Jonathan 10+ years ago at a friends wedding and knew if my day ever came, I'd hire him! He is so talented, singing everything from Michael Buble to Etta James. Your DJ sets the mood for the wedding and Jonathan knocks it out of the park! I'd hire him 100 times over!!!

Jonathan did an amazing job at our wedding. His professionalism was superb and he played and sang all of our requested songs. We had guests request him for their Christmas party this year!

10/10 experience

Due to 2020 we unfortunately had to cancel our large wedding and decided to host a small wedding outdoors. Jonathan was the perfect fit as he was able to provide an entertainment factor with his singing. We didn’t realize how much our guests would enjoy him! He was a great addition to our night and we are so glad we went with him! All of our guests had such a blast and couldn’t stop talking about how amazing he was. If you’re debating whether to book him or not, this is your sign!

A++ - Best DJ Ever!

Thanks to our wedding coordinator/planner Kim Frazer’s referral I hired Jonathan for our daughter’s wedding. He was amazing!!! Jonathan provided a level of entertainment/DJ services that exceeded our expectations. He handled the flow of the evening flawlessly, and kept guests dancing. His voice and vocal range is phenomenal; even received a standing ovation from our guests. But, he wasn’t flashy about his talent and made sure the spotlight was still on the bride & groom. Our guests are still raving about how wonderful the wedding was—Jonathan was a huge factor of that success. Do not have your If you want your wedding to be spectacular hire Jonathan Cortez (and Kim Frazer from The Perfect Dress). You’ll be thrilled you did.

Perfection!

Jonathon Cortez is an absolutely "show stopping!!!" My wedding was a week ago and I still have people calling to tell me how amazing he was!! Jonathon sings the songs better then the original artist!!! He was a pleasure to work with!! I highly recommend him for ANY event!!!

Jonathan is the BEST DJ I have ever seen! He is truly one of a kind! Hire him!

I got connected to Jonathan through my father who has been using him as his DJ for the last 10 years for all of his office parties. I knew Jonathan was good when my dad told me they have changed the dates of their office parties to accommodate Jonathan’s busy schedule. After having him as our wedding DJ I can see why.

Jonathan was an outstanding DJ on every level. He masterfully coordinated a multicultural wedding with Arabic and English music. He prepared in advance by getting our non-English language music and learned them as if they were his own songs. He was professional and courteous with everyone he interacted with. On top of being so pleasant to be around, he is a stunningly talented artist with an incredible voice that transitions among any genre effortlessly. Out of everything in our wedding, we received the most compliments for our DJ. Everyone was blown away his artistry and no one could believe it when he started singing!! The man can really sing! He truly made our wedding magical. If having fun at your reception is important to you, you must hire him!!! The DJ makes it a party. He kept everyone dancing all night!!!!!

Hiring him was the best decision we made for our wedding!

The Best One Around!

Jonathan Cortez, is hands down the best performer you’ll ever come across!! He truly makes everyone’s head turn throughout the wedding, because he shocks you with his amazing singing voice! When making our rounds during the reception and saying hello to everyone. The first thing out of everyone’s mouth was “where did you find him, he’s amazing.”
I’ve been to two other Weddings that Jonathan was the Performer at. So when I got engaged and picked a date, he was literally the first person I called and booked!!
After I got married and spoke with all my Family and Friends, one thing everyone complimented was Jonathan. No one could get over how talented he was!
I had family from New York at my Wedding and they asked him for his business card. They said they would fly him to NY in a heart beat for a wedding.
The week before we got married, my Husband and I had a conference call with Jonathan. We talked and got to know each other, discussed songs, music we like/dislike, and timelines of the evening. During the wedding Jonathan did everything and more than we asked for.
If you’re looking to get everyone out on the dance floor and have people talking about your wedding forever! Jonathan Cortez is the person you need!!!
He is way way more than 5 ⭐️ s!

Jonathan Cortez did an outstanding job at our beach wedding last month! He is a true professional and extremely easy to work with. He is very easy-going and does whatever is necessary to ensure everyone is having a great time. We hadn't had the pleasure of hearing Jonathan live before so we were a bit nervous, but as soon as he sang his first note you should have seen our faces, and all 104 people at the wedding! Peoples jaws were dropping, and he instantly became the life of the party! He can sing any genre and do it well! He did a great job mixing and timing when to play songs and when to sing.
If you are looking at Jonathan for an event, just know you do not need to worry, the guests and you will be amazed at the experience.

Jonathan is the WOW factor at any wedding. We saw him at our friend's wedding in Chicago, and knew we had to have him at our wedding at Gervasi Vineyard in Canton, OH. Jonathan is pure entertainment! He covers Frank Sinatra, Michael Jackson, and many others to the point where you think the original artist is singing right behind you throughout dinner. Then, once you move to the dance floor he's belting out the Weekend, Bruno Mars, and all the top hits you want to dance to. We submitted a list of artists and songs prior to the wedding, and left it up to Jonathan to keep the dance floor packed - which he did! Jonathan also respected our 'please don't play this artist/song which I appreciated. Jonathan put together a cool, down tempo playlist for prior to the ceremony as people arrived, and also took care of the special request songs like the hora (Jewish chair dance), Tagledel (Italian wedding song) and mother-son dance. Finally, and perhaps most importantly - we asked Jonathan a huge favor in regard to our first dance song. We chose a fast, EDM song and asked him to find a way to break it down into a slow dance that he could sing live. He NAILED IT! It was literally once of the most unforgettable moments of our wedding. I can't thank him enough for making our wedding what our friends called 'the wedding of the century!.' I give the bulk of the credit to Jonathan for putting his heart and soul into his performance at our wedding.

Jonathan is absolutely amazing! Not only does go above and beyond to make the most of your event he is truly an amazing person. He takes the time to get to know you and is able to customize your music according to who you are. He has an amazing voice that will blow your guest away and leave you feeling like you were at a live concert for multiple artist! He has a way of keeping your dance floor packed, a smile constantly on your face and a great vibe going all night long! We even chanted for more songs when my venue time ended because he was simply amazing. During my ceremony, Jonathan sang my processional songs and was absolutely phenomenal and my first dance still tears me up! He is a great person, a hard worker and an amazing artist! He even traveled 4 hours after a wedding to accommodate my wedding the next day! Couldn’t have asked for a better musician! He is worth way more than a 5 star rating, simply off the charts! :)

This is the third time I have hired Jonathan. Just when you thought he could not get any better than the last time he does!!! He performed for my Son's wedding this past weekend and he was over the top awesome. Our guest were in awe with what a great entertainer Jonathan is. Please don't compare him to a DJ. I witnessed Jonathan live at my friends wedding in Florida 4 years ago. I told myself if/when I ever get married I will fly him up (to Ohio), to have him perform for us. I was lucky enough to find the love of my life and get married this past weekend (May 20, 2017). Jonathan not only lived up to his previous performance 4 years ago, but exceeded our expectations even further. He took our wedding to another level. Total game changer. Thanks again!!!

As a couple who had attended many weddings prior to our own, it was obvious that a major hope for us that our music needed to inspire guests of all ages to get on the dance floor throughout the night. Jonathan had our grandparents dancing side by side with our college friends for hours on end.

Jonathan is a consumate professional who takes his responsibilities very seriously. Prior to our wedding, my bride, Jonathan and I sat on a long conference call to walk through every aspect of our wedding. He made sure to think of all the details we may have not thought of (microphones for readers, music at all the right times, etc.) He also took what we wanted and made sure it was all incorporated. While there were a few songs we did request and wanted to hear (which he was quick to oblige) the best move we probably made was letting Jonathan use his expertise in reading the room and what the party dictated and playing the music he thought was best. He knew what kind of music we liked from our conference call but was able to mix in the perfect genres at the perfect times, which kept 75+ people on the dance floor the entire night. I haven't even mentioned his vocal prowess yet, which is amazing. He was able to complete a range of ballads that even usual bands or vocalists would be hard pressed to accomplish.

The music for your wedding can set the tone for the entire event, and Jonathan did just that. I would highly recommend him for any wedding or event you may have.

I don’t have a large enough repository of superlatives to describe Jonathan’s talents and professionalism. To say he rocked our wedding would be a gross understatement. Jonathan has such incredible range, expertly singing Bocelli’s Time to Say Goodbye one minute, Bill Wither’s Lovely Day the next, and everything from Maroon 5 to Journey to Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder. He had our guests on the dance floor for four solid hours! To consider him a DJ would be an injustice to his talents as a vocalist. Jonathan is a pure singer first and foremost. He is well worth his fee. Your guests will be talking about him days after your reception.

I am a meeting planner and have used Jonathan Cortez for many events professionally. So when I planned my wedding he was the first one I called. As predicted, Jonathan was amazing. He can sing songs performed by Andrea Bocelli to Frank Sinatra. During our dinner set he sang songs in every genres of music. My husband commented the day after the wedding that he knew people would dance, but never expected everyone to dance every song. My guest list included people from 13 to 68 and he connected with all of them. No matter how well I planned my wedding reception, Jonathan was the one who made it a complete success.

Jonathan did an incredible job! Everyone at our wedding was commenting on how fun he was, especially loving that he could sing too! Having him sing our first dance was one of my favorite parts of the evening. We would recommend Jonathan to anyone! :)

Jonathan was the best vendor we decided on for our wedding! He blew are guest minds immediately! During our dinner he sang beautifully and blew us out of the water with his opera at the end of dinner! Our guests were applauding an amazement. Dancing is one of my favorite hobbies and I had nightmares (from attending many other weddings) that the dance floor would be empty at times, which was unacceptable to me! Well my nightmare did not come true as Jonathan had my guests including my husband and I on the dance-floor from beginning to last song! Boy were we upset for it to end! My guests just continue to ask "Where did you find him!?" Thank you Jonathan for meeting every expectation!

AMAZING!!!! Still talked about a year later. What a find!!! Came recommended by my wedding planner and boy was she right. Is is not only a DJ but an amazing singer and performer. Everyone on the dance floor from my 13 yr old nephew to my 90 year old grandmother and having a great time. Really was a highlight on such a wonderful day!!!

Absolutely incredible!!! Jonathan was amazing to work with from start to finish. He provided music for our wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. WOW WOW WOW is the first thing that comes to my mind. Jonathan is absolutely AMAZING! He did both my wedding ceremony and reception and he was KILLER! When he sings you don't even know he is singing he sounds SO incredible! Everyone was blown away by how he preformed and he definitely enhanced our wedding and our guests couldn't get over just how fabulous he was. He can cater to you know matter what kind of music you like. If you are looking for someone for your wedding and nervous about who to pick don't be with Jonathan, he is simply amazing. Jonathan blew our guests away with his vocals, so much so his card was passed on several time thought the evening. He came recommended to us through co-workers and we are so happy we listened. He kept the party going all evening with nice flow and smooth transitions into our requested song choices. He worked with us to make his offered packages fit our venue and our needs by adjusting the lighting and ensuring we have microphones and speakers where we needed and that best fit our vision for our evening. We wanted something more than the standard and Jonathan was just that, his preformances gave our night a signature no one will forget. Highly Highly recommended

I cannot express how amazing this man is! Our wedding was absolutely perfect and he was a HUGE reason for that. Everything went off without a hitch and I have him to thank for it. Everything was extremely organized and well thought out. He made sure the flow of our wedding went smoothly and he announced everything.
The best part about our wedding for us was that it was fun! He made sure that EVERYONE (200 people) were out of their seats and dancing. He knew how to get the crowd going and which songs would keep everyone dancing. Everyone came up to me and said how amazing he was and that they were so shocked at his performance. Not only does he give an amazing performance, he sings AMAZING. It is so hard to even tell the actual song apart from him singing it...he is that good! Everyone was in disbelief at how well he could sing.
I cannot thank him enough for performing at our Reception and making our wedding such a hit. People cannot stop talking about how amazing our wedding was and I owe it to him. It was the best night of our lives and I can't express how much he had an impact on it.

Jonathan performed at my sons wedding at Sharky's on the pier, right on the beach. He did music for the ceremony and the reception. He was and is awesome. The night and music were spectacular. He is so versatile, can perform many genres (if I spelled that correctly). Closing ones eyes, you would think Andrea Bocelli, or frank Sinatra are singing right there. He also changed to more up beat for the younger crowd and those of us older who just dance to all the music. I always feel that if the dance floor is filled, that is the mark of a great entertainer. Our dance floor was filled most every minute, except when we were eating! I would so very highly recommend Jonathan Cortez. If I had more kids to marry off, I would hire him for another wedding.

When I say that jonathan is the best, he is better than the best!!! Stop looking and book jonathan NOW!!! It has been about 3 weeks since our wedding, and he is still the main topic!! He was absolutely AMAZING, every single person agrees that he is unlike any one they have ever seen perform-not only at a wedding but anywhere!! He brought so much fun, laughter, and memories to our wedding day!! From the second my dad and I walked down the isle to the very last song of the night and everything in between he truly blew us all away!!
I had a smaller wedding of about 40 people and my biggest fear of having a smaller wedding was that no one would be on the dance floor, I was so wrong. Jonathan had every single person out there, even people that have never danced before in their life!! Jonathan was, hands down, the second best decision we made that day (saying I-do was first ;) ) Jonathan has unmatched talent and we feel truly blessed to have had him at our wedding working his magic!! He made it a PARTY!!
He is professional, always on time, and has the best recommendations and easy to communicate with!! I was having a hard time with ideas for songs for us to walk into the reception to, the unity candle, and cake cutting-- he killed it!!
Let him do his thing and know that you are in the best hands possible! Dont even consider anyone else and do yourself, and your guests, the biggest favor and book Jonathan NOW! I had a friend that is getting married and they booked him that night for her wedding because there is no one else quite like him out there!! His "dinner music"made us all feel like we were at a private concert with Andrea Bocelli, Michael buble, Frankie Valli,and so many other classics performing.My guests questioned if jonathan was actually singing because he sounds exactly like the original singers,my opinion hes better! We first met Jonathan two years ago at our friend's wedding. We were just expecting a DJ and we were blown away to see him actually perform and sing so beautifully. Jonathan's versatility to sing a wide variety of songs from R&B to Opera is truly amazing. He made it one of the most fun weddings we had ever been to at that point so after the wedding we approached him about playing at our wedding (though we weren't even engaged at that point!!!!!).

Hiring Jonathan was the best decision we made. Our wedding was extremely complicated, as Indians we had multiple days and a lot of nuances with requirements for lots of specific music. We spoke with Jonathan across the course of a year about the songs and type of music that we wanted to be played at the various events (this included an Indian Sangeet which generally plays Indian/Bhangra music). Jonathan had never done an Indian wedding before but he immersed himself in learning about the music and the culture and by the time our wedding rolled around, he knew more about Indian music than we did!

We flew Jonathan up to NYC to perform both at a party the night before (Sangeet) and to also MC our wedding and perform at our reception. He even sang a special song for us at the end of our ceremony as we walked back down the aisle.

Jonathan was absolutely one of the highlights of the wedding and one of the best decisions we ever made. Our guests were packed on the dance floor for both events at all times and could not stop raving about how amazing his voice was and how great his music selection was. Two weeks later, our friends are still singing his praises.

Thank you Jonathan for making such a special day and weekend even more amazing, you will always have a place in our hearts.

My husband and I saw Jonathan at one of our friends' wedding and knew immediately we had to have him at ours. The problem was that we got married in Chicago and Jonathan lives in Florida. We reached out to him anyways and Jonathan worked with us to make it happen. He is very professional and is a pleasure to work with. We have the greatest appreciation for Jonathan for giving us the best night ever!! Everybody at our wedding was out on the dance floor all night long, even those self-proclaimed people who "never dance!" It's been almost two weeks and we continue to receive compliments on our DJ. (Which is such an understatement because Jonathan can sing!!) Thank you, thank you, thank you Jonathan - we had the best party and the best time at our wedding because of you!

Highly recommend Jonathan! He had our whole wedding on the dance floor the entire night! I promise you will not be disappointed with him. What makes him unique from other DJ's or Bands is that he is not just an amazing DJ, he entertains the crowd with his singing. Its not very common that you see that at a wedding, our wedding guest are still talking about him!

OH MY WORD. Our DJ was the best part of our wedding. All of our guests are STILL talking about how fantastic he was. He was absolutely incredible the entire evening. Our dance floor was full the entire night. Definitely the best decision I made about our wedding!

Jonathan Cortez is the best DJ in this area and he sings beautifully, as well. He sang some of the best songs and people were amazed. He is a former American Idol runner-up. Everyone said he made the evening.

Easily the best compliment received from our wedding guests was Jonathan Cortez. He kept everyone entertained from cocktail hour to the last dance. Not only a great DJ, but a phenomenal singer and entertainer. He is very personable and professional, and made sure our day was special.

I cannot begin to tell you how much we love Jonathan and how amazing he was at our wedding. Our photographer referred us to him and I did not even think twice. We got to speak to another bride and groom before booking him and they said they were getting compliments 3 weeks after their wedding on his services. I cannot agree more....our guests are calling us nonstop asking about Jonathan and telling us how amazing he was. I think we have now handed his information out to 5 of our guests that want to use him for future events. He did such a good job with preparing us for the big day with the conference call before. He nailed every song and our guests were in awe. We had him just sing for our cocktail hour and then dj and sing for reception. He even played opera during the dinner....my newly husband turned to me while eating and said he feels like he is famous having a fancy dinner and opera being sung to us. The lighting, performance, and everything about Jonathan was above and beyond. We cannot thank him enough for sharing in the biggest day of our lives and we can only wish to find a reason to use him again in the future. Honestly, words won't do this review justice. First off, Jonathan did a great job prior to the wedding of walking through the day with us minute by minute to make sure that every single detail was accounted for and on the day of, he did not need one second of direction because he knew what he needed to do. That in itself was a huge weight off our shoulders. But, the real magic was when Jonathan started to perform. He did the sound at the ceremony, light music for the cocktail hour and then performed the rest of the night (also brought uplighting for the room). His ability to sing every type of music that we could come up with is unbelievable. It took a while for our guests to realize that it was him singing instead of the original artist on a CD and people to this day are still raving about him. I've never seen a standing ovation for a singer at a wedding but that's what he got when he finished a latin opera song during dinner that blew us away. We took a long time trying to decide between a band or DJ but there is no question that we made the right choice.....which was neither. Calling Jonathan a DJ would be the understatement of a lifetime. Jonathans amazing talent, attention to detail and ability to read the crowd are a few of the many reasons that I highly recommend him!

Jonathan is FABULOUS!! We could not be any happier with how our special day went and he was a HUGE part of it! He was recommended by our wedding coordinator. He is very professional. We discussed what we wanted prior to the big day. He blew everyone away that night, my guests all loved him. Everyone was talking about him after the wedding, asking how we found him, etc! He performs plus he is a DJ. He sang a special Andrea Bocelli song in remembrance of my husband's mother....Amazing! I can't wait to see the video so I can hear it all over again. He played the perfect music during dinner and once the dancing started he got the crowd moving including me and I do not like to dance. Jonathan was hired for my sister's wedding and he was the best of the best. He had any and every song that was requested and he even turned the mic over to one of the guests and let them sing! He is a phenomenal performer/entertainer. The lighting was just right too! I felt like I was at a night club and not just "another wedding!" All the guests had a great time and the dance floor was full of fabulous dancers ;)

EVERY Vendor that I worked with HIGHLY recommended Jonathon. I had NO idea what my guests were in store for but Every Guest Loved him. He was the highlight of our wedding.

My Husband and I gave him genres as well as a list of songs that we wanted played. And the songs that we really Loved.... he SANG THEM!!!!!!! My guest told me that they couldnt believe it when they looked up and saw that he was actually singing the songs. He was great!

Everyone should have Jonathon DJ for their events. You can't go wrong!

Jonathan Cortez, the JAC of All Trades, was phenomenal to work with. While he wasn't the most economical choice in the area, he definitely is the best. He is highly diverse, knows exactly how to build upon the crowd's energy, and has a fantastic knowledge of music, which we bonded over for a long time on the phone. We were planning our wedding from LA, so he was very flexible and took our phone calls at night, despite being busy working every night. He's also young, and coming from two massive music fans, he really understood the soul of what we wanted to hear and share with our families. He moved us all to tears on several occasions and had even the most elderly of our guests, including my 9 year old sister, going crazy on the dance floor. Some of the most memorable moments we both have of our wedding day was from being on the dance floor - a feat, considering we're both terrible dancers. Lastly, Jonathan is an incredible person with a big heart and lots of soul. We talked about our families, how close we are, and how important the moments you have together are, especially on your wedding day. FANTASTIC DJ, (guests still tell us just how awesome they thought he was) and a wonderful and professionall person.

Jonathon was the second best decision I made other than choosing my husband. Not only is he talented but was awesome to deal with from start to finish. He absolutely made our reception! My guest are still talking about him and what I wonderful job he did. If you are looking for a true performer (he sings and is absolutely amazing) Jonathon is your guy......I would highly recommend him!

AMAZING!!! This man is so talented. He can sing anything from Coldplay to Bocelli. I have never been to anyone's wedding and them have a performer like him. He is also a DJ so he can sing and perform. He is one that you must see in person to be blown away. He performs all over Tampa and Sarasota so contact him for a list of locations he will performing at. Everyone was just blown away. Totally amazing.

You will never find another musician for your wedding like Jonathon Cortez!
You might think that his name sounds familiar?? That is because he was a contestant on American Idol!!!

He was absolutely amazing, amazing, amazing!!! Jonathon played our ceremony music on his state of the art equipment. He played at the cocktail hour and he MADE the reception something that no one there will ever forget!!
I watched all the guest's jaws drop when he started singing! He has a beautiful voice!
He blew everyone away at the end of the reception by coming out into the crowd and singing SHOUT! It was like we were our own private concert!
He is a very dedicated person to his trade and he will make your event spectacular!!
If you want to see him in person, I know that he plays on ladies night at The Lodge in New Tampa on Thursday nights.
