They ran like clockwork and stayed ahead of schedule. Hair and makeup was amazing.

We used Jolie Artistry for all of our hair and makeup for the wedding. A total of 10 people for hair . They did a trial with the bride a few months prior and brought a team in on the wedding day. They worked so well together and actually was ahead of schedule which is amazing with that many people to do. Everyone looked amazing and the bride was so excited about how her hair and makeup turned out. Do yourself a favor and hire them!!! So professional and they do great work!!

Lovely my makeup! Jolie also did the makeup for my bridesmaids, mother, mil, and sister in law. Everyone loved it! Great service, would choose her again in a heartbeat.

Wonderful!!!

Jolie was simply wonderful! I am not someone who wears a lot of make up, but wanted to look amazing for my wedding day. She was able to make me look naturally beautiful! I felt gorgeous all day. She is also a delight to work with. Listened to my concerns and talked through everything with me. Very responsive and so, so sweet! She did my entire wedding party which was a variety of skin tones and for most of us was our first time getting our make up done. We were all happy with our make up! It was also a very hot and humid day and our make up stayed on 10+ hours. I can't express how nice it was to feel so pretty!

Oh, my goodness. No amount of stars would be enough to convey how wonderful and talented Jolie is.

She came to my house for the bridal makeup trial and very carefully listened to my skin concerns, product preferences, etc. I wanted some drama for my wedding day, but I also wanted to feel like myself. Jolie was perfectly able to marry (pardon my pun) those two things. I could not have been happier with my look.

The day of, Jolie was open to adjusting what we had decided on at the trial (wispier lashes, more gold and copper tones in lieu of matte grays and browns). What I'm saying is, she's flexible. She's also super knowledgeable and capable, and comfortable with makeup for any range of ages. She did makeup for me, my bridesmaids, my mother, and mother-in-law, and just a little bit of eyeshadow and gloss at the flower girl's request. Everyone looked PHENOMENAL.

Jolie, I can't say thank you enough. You're great at what you do, and you're also just an awesome, fun person that made the entire experience so easy and enjoyable. Now, I just need another excuse to get my makeup done.

Jolie did a wonderful job on my makeup and my bridesmaid’s makeup!

I was planning my wedding from out of town (I’m from KC originally), and she was very responsive via email and phone. She helped me plan how long we would need to do everyone’s makeup, which factored into our timeline for the day-of the wedding. I came in town for a weekend, and we did a trial run. I had a few ideas from Pinterest, and she also had some great suggestions, and it turned out exactly how I wanted. Per Jolie’s suggestion, I’ve also found my new favorite everyday mascara!

On the day of my wedding, Jolie went onsite and she did my makeup just as we’d practiced, and she also did a great job on my bridesmaid’s and my mom’s and aunt’s makeup. I would highly recommend Jolie and Amanda Pogue, the hair stylist she often works with.

I had a lot of makeup trials before I found Jolie. I didn’t anticipate this because I’m pretty low-key, but I really struggled to find someone that made me feel like an enhanced version of myself instead of someone different entirely. I was about to decide to do my own makeup before a friend recommended Jolie, and I am so glad I found her. She generously squeezed me in for a last minute trial, and afterwards I felt so confident that I would look beautiful on my wedding day. Jolie is so talented, professional and sweet. All my bridesmaids looked great, and I felt beautiful all day long. The makeup looked great in pictures as well. I would highly recommend Jolie.

Jolie was such a pleasure to work with! She is very professional and talented. I originally did not have a vision of how I wanted my make up to be on my wedding day and after sharing with her some ideas she made it happen! I looked exactly like I wanted on the big day and she even made time to fit in a couple extra family members and have us all done up before the ceremony. I highly recommend Jolie Artistry for wedding makeup or any special occasion!

Jolie provided the makeup for my engagement pictures and wedding day & I couldn't be happier with her services. She was extremely responsive when making plans for both days and was flexible & understanding when the count of girls wanting services changed. Jolie came to my mom's house where we were all getting ready & has such a fun, bubbly personality that fit right in with the joy of the day! My makeup for the engagement pictures and wedding looked fantastic & I will happily refer Jolie's services!

Jolie did a fantastic job for my wedding makeup! She did makeup for myself (the bride), my maid of honor, and my mother. She came to my home for both the trial and wedding day and did not charge me for mileage. She was so flexible and easy to work with. It was pretty hectic and stressful at my house on the wedding day, but she was so calm and collected and made me feel pampered amongst the chaos. We all had many compliments on our makeup. I highly recommend Jolie.

Jolie is amazing! She has such a great personality and is incredibly talented. I love that she uses various brands of makeup. She not only did a great job with my makeup, but with the makeup of my bridesmaids and MIL. I would recommend her over and over again.

My wedding day went really smooth with Jolie. All of the girls looked beautiful and everyone was very happy with their makeup. The best part was the the makeup lasted the whole day and still looked great after my wedding was over.

Jolie has done my makeup now three times for three different events. Each time we tried something different! She is versitile with her different looks and a very experienced artist. Though I am quite late in officially writing my reviews down for Jolie (it has been a crazy year), I certainly don't want a reader to think it reflects upon her service. Jolie was absolutely fantastic in every way and she helped me feel totally gorgeous on my wedding day. I felt great in my makeup and didn't have any smudges or smears, despite the 80+ degree weather we randomly encountered on May 3rd (plus my tears).

For the trial day, Jolie invited me to her home and I had a lovely time trying on different shades with her and I pretty much agreed with each one of her picks. She knew how to work with my skin type/color and how to compliment my eye color. She kept my preferences in mind in terms of how thick I wanted everything applied and even surprised me with a few things! I had a lot of fun during the trial-- she felt like an old friend by the end.

The day of the wedding, Jolie met me at the reception hall while we were all getting ready. There were 5 of us needing makeup and she was completely flexible with everything-- even helping me calm down about everything. If I remember right, she applied makeup while my hair was being curled and everything felt very natural and easy. Which is saying a lot, considering I was sprinting around trying to get table cloths placed and be the boss of 99% of the decorating.

When I woke up the next morning, I was (thankfully) zit-free and my eyelashes had even mostly stayed on... I totally crashed after having to clean up with the family and not getting to the hotel until 3am. Speaking of the eyelashes, I would say that the added cost is a must... They really help in photos and don't end up looking unnatural. Even for my mom and she was the one who was most concerned.

I have no complaints-- I'd suggest Jolie to anyone!

Jolie did my makeup for my wedding and I just loved it. During the trial session we had, she asked the right questions and was very flexible with how I pictured everything. She had wonderful suggestions for me and was delightful to work with. The day of the wedding was no different. My bridesmaids and I were all very happy with Jolie's work. Jolie was fantastic! She was professional yet very friendly. When we first met for the consultation she asked what I was looking for, added her opinion when asked, and my makeup was gorgeous. She respected what I asked and didn't apply makeup she thought I should have on. On the day of my wedding she was early :) which I loved, got right to work, and even added one of my bridesmaids to her list, which was very generous of her. My stepdaughter's makeup was beautiful and my bridesmaids as well. Overall, I would recommend her in a heartbeat to anyone that is looking for a makeup artist. I will definitely call her again!

Our experience with Jolie was fabulous!! She was so easy to work with, and took the time to make a trip out to Lee's Summit for the trial session! Her attention to detail was remarkable, but what we loved most was that we never felt like we were wearing heavy make-up! We are the type of ladies who like a very natural look, but we knew we needed a little more for our special day than just a regular make-up application - Jolie did just what we wanted and more! She is so sweet to work with and hands down best make-up artist that we know in the KC area!

Jolie is awesome! She was so down to earth and flexible, and helped to make the day non-stressful. Not only that, but she did an amazing job with make up for myself and my bridesmaids. I have used a few professional makeup artists in my day, and was especially particular about the person I'd use for makeup on my wedding day. A heartfelt THANK you for the beautiful job you did with my makeup, absolutely breathtaking! I had tried on my dress, veil and jewelry at my fittings but it wasn't until my hair and makeup were done that I was really felt like a beautiful bride. Prior to the wedding I had a very general idea of what I was looking for and you really listened to what I wanted, creating a very natural and sophisticated look. Jolie was absolutely wonderful!!! She is such a great person on top of being a fantastic makeup artists. Not only was my makeup gorgeous, but it wasn't caked on and lasted all day long. It rained all day and we were outside taking photos and it still stayed in place and looked stunning. I have never gotten my makeup done and liked it, so I was a little nervous...but it was flawless and I looked like me..only better. All of my bridesmaids were excited by how they looked and our pictures were gorgeous! She was so easy to work and stayed in contact with my the entire process. She even drove 4 hours to the middle of no where for our wedding. She is amazing and worth every penny. She is the absolute best and I wouldn't want anyone else to do my makeup on the most important day.

I could not asked for a better makeup artist for my wedding than Jolie Carrillo-Allen! She was extremely receptive and patient when we sat down to brainstorm what my "ideal wedding look" would be, and during my trial test, she paused many times to make sure that everything was exactly to my liking! When it came to the big day, she made my dreams a reality! She made me look absolutely beautiful, and my makeup stayed on perfectly for the entire day (from 1pm-1am!!). She is incredibly reasonable for the quality of work she does, and she is definitely worth every penny!

I waited until the last minute to find a makeup artist. Jolie emailed me back within a day and was very flexible setting up a trial. I have never felt so beautiful than I did on my wedding day and I am certain that my makeup was a huge contributor. My makeup was flawless and I can't recommend Jolie more. She is a great lady and I am glad she was a part of my big day.

I was cleaning out email, came across a message from Jolie and remembered I never wrote a review for her!

She did the makeup for my wedding back in November of 2012. I chose her because she had experience with a variety of skin tones. I am African-American and so were all of my bridesmaids. She did an awesome job at complimenting all of our complexions. Everyone felt beautiful and all of the photos were awesome. Win-win!

Jolie did on site makeup for me and 2 of my bridesmaids. I was beyond thrilled with my makeup, and it stayed on perfectly all day, despite wind, and possibly a few tears. :) My bridesmaids also loved their makeup. Jolie was also on time to the venue, stayed as long as we needed her, and fit in perfectly with my girls and the other vendors. I would recommend her to anyone!!

Jolie arrived on time and ready to go. She was quickly set up and began working on my bridesmaids. Everyone was thrilled with how they looked (my mother included). I originally planned on doing my own makeup for my big day, but after seeing Jolie's work I decided to look into it more. My first meeting with Jolie, she answered all questions and walked me through everything she would do that would make my makeup stay the whole day.

My makeup looked awesome and held up (even in 96 degree weather) all day long!!

At first, I was very skeptical about finding a make-up artist in Kansas City for one big reason - I am of Indian decent and have a darker/South Asian-type skin tone - not white, not black, not Hispanic, not Asian, BUT Indian. From where I am, in Boston, there are a ton of make-up artists who specialize in this type of skin-tone; however, I knew it would be tough to find in the KC area. I looked up Jolie online by researching and read some good reviews. I contacted her and she was so friendly and welcoming; but I knew I wanted to get a trial to make sure she could match my skin tone, etc. I had a trial with her in July at her home and she did an AMAZING job! I loved how she did my make-up. And she listened to what I wanted - when I said I didn't want something super dramatic, but still "poppy" enough, she knew exactly what I wanted. She wrote everything down on my face chart. She told me on the day of, she would even buy my lipstick and gloss for touch-ups on the day-of if I needed to, which was super nice/helpful.
On the day of, she showed up on time, ready to go. She made me feel at ease, because I was very nervous. And every step of the way, she showed my how it was turning out (eyes, face, lips) and it came out even better than I remembered! Everyone thought I looked flawless :) At the end, she even helped me fix my hair. My make-up lasted perfectly from 3:30 PM until past midnight, even after all the socializing, eating, dancing, sweating.
I would totally recommend Jolie for any make-up services you'd be looking for, no matter your skin tone. She's super nice, friendly, professional and honest/candid and she will listen to what you want.

Jolie did my wedding day makeup on 8/17/13. My hair stylist referred me to her and I'm so glad she did! I met with Jolie prior to the wedding for a trial and she made me feel so comfortable. She did an amazing job on the trial - she started out modestly with the colors and only went bolder when asked. And on my wedding day, she recreated what she did for the trial and made me look flawless once again. She is professional, very sweet, friendly and easy to work with. Jolie did my make-up for my wedding day. I'm pretty simple as far as makeup is concerned. I wear just eyeliner and mascera. I had a trial with Jolie a few months before my wedding. I was taken aback when I saw how natural I looked despite having a full makeup application. My make-up was soft and nautral, which is ultimately the look I was going for. Jolie is very personable and was a lot of fun to work with. She was able to squeeze in time on my wedding day to do my mother-in-law and sister-in-laws makeup as well. Her prices were reasonable and she used the best products! I got married outside on a fairly warm day. My makeup looked just as good at the end of the reception as it did right after application. I would recommend Jolie to anyone looking to have their makeup done for a special occassion!!!!

Jolie of Jolie Artistry was fantastic! She was so down to earth and did such a great job on my makeup and my bridal party. She was so good at altering the makeup to each individual girl. Not only was her work high quality she was extremely professional and so sweet! She brought a second artist who was so personable and friendly! Our wedding was on a hot summer day and my makeup remained flawless despite the humidity and perspiration.... and tears ;). The quality of her work AND her products was evident. Jolie is awesome! I would HIGHLY recommend her for your wedding makeup! From the makeup trial to the wedding, Jolie does such an amazing job and I was so impressed with how pretty the makeup was - it blew my expectations away! I didn't have any certain colors in mind and she just made some suggestions which turned out great. I also liked how she asked at the trial what I was currently using and made suggestions based on my skin/complexion on what she thought would work best for me. She is so nice and accomodating and so easy to work with! I had to reschedule my trial makeup a couple times and she was very flexible in fitting me in. Jolie was such a pleasure to work with! She was extremely professional and quick to respond to calls and e-mails. I can't say enough good things about Jolie. She definitely went above in beyond in my case. It was pouring the morning of my wedding and on her way to me she spun out and went off the road. When I heard I was afraid she wouldn't be able to make it, but she did and she was only 15 minutes late!

As for the actual makeup, she did an amazing job. I typically wear very natural makeup with no lip color so I was afraid of not looking like myself the day of my wedding and shared those concerns with her. What she did was perfect. I looked exactly like myself, just a much more beautiful version! Also we had an outdoor wedding and it was pretty humid after all that rain but my makeup didn't budge! It looked just as fresh as when it started. I wish she could do my makeup every day!

Jolie was so awesome to work with and very responsive to all inquiries. My wedding was at 1:30 and I had 10 people who needed makeup and hair so Jolie was at my hotel at 8:00 ready to have everyone complete at noon and she finished in time. I met Jolie when she did the makeup for a wedding that I was in this January. I received so many compliments on my makeup for that wedding, that I decided to use Jolie for the makeup for my wedding! She met with me a couple of months before the wedding for a trial, and took notes and pictures to ensure that we could get the same look the day of the wedding! The day of the wedding, she met the bridal party at the wedding venue, and effortlessly applied makeup for myself and 4 bridesmaids! Everyone looked absolutely beautiful and our makeup lasted all night! I am not typically a makeup wearer, but each time she has done my makeup, it has looked amazing and natural! She has a true gift!

Jolie was WONDERFUL!!! She arrived on time and ready to work. She did amazing work on my mother, mother in law, maid of honor, and myself!! She didn't rush thru our make up applications at all taking time to talk to us and making sure we didn't need any touch up before she left! Jolie did a FANTASTIC job on my make-up for my wedding. I have gotten so many compliments on it, and felt absolutely stunning on the big day. She was wonderful at listening to what I wanted and stopping along the way to see if there was anything I wanted changed or modified (which I rarely did since she was so good)!
My mom was very hesitant to get her make-up done professionally due to bad experiences in the past, but was ecstatic with how hers turned out as well!

Jolie was absolutely amazing. Not only did my makeup for my wedding look amazing, it also literally lasted all day and night. I had my makeup done at 9 am and my ceremony did not begin until 7 pm. The only thing I had to do is add a little powder right before the ceremony. Jolie was early for our appointment and conducted herself in a very professional manner. After meeting with another well know makeup artist and being less than pleased, we were fortunate enough to find Jolie. She came to my house for an initial consultation before my daughter's wedding. She first talked to my daughter about the look she wanted and then explained everything as she applied the makeup. She was extremely friendly and professional at the same time! For the wedding, she did my daughter's makeup as well as two bridesmaids and mine. She even offered to pick up my daughter's lip color so she would have it to reapply that night if she needed to. Everyone looked wonderful! The makeup felt natural and not heavy at all. I received so many compliments and nobody had to touch anything up all night. I would highly recommend Jolie. It can be nerve-racking trying to find someone to do your makeup for such a special day, but because Jolie listens to you and is very knowledgeable you can rest assured that you will look perfect on your special day!

Jolie and her assistant Drew did the makeup for me, my mother, the mother of the groom, and 5 bridesmaids. Everyone looked amazing! Jolie was great to work with from the beginning; we did a trial early on and then she did my makeup for my engagement photo session as well. Jolie was amazing! She listened to what I wanted and offered her suggestions in order to get to the perfect final look! I would not have changed a single thing and the best part is that the makeup didn't fade or run all day even through tears. Several of my bridesmaids also decided they wanted false lashes last minute and Jolie was prepared and every girl looked beautiful! Jolie was also a blast to be around and my girls and I truly enjoyed having her there with us while we got ready. If I could think of more adjectives to describe Jolie's amazing service and skill, I could go on and on.

After researching a few make-up artists and the same old recommendations on The Knot, I chose Jolie. She was the only artist that had women of color in her portfolio which told me she had skills to work on any skin color and type, important for my bridal party and me. Also, her prices were better than most! We first met when I booked her for a trial when I did my e-photos. She came on time, totally prepared and when we started running behind (my fault), she was able to finish the job with top quality. I booked her for the wedding and she came to my bridal suite, did all my bridesmaids and mother. By the time she got to me, I was a nervous wreck. She had an amazing way of staying calm herself, despite any kinks in the schedule, and really calmed me down. The best part – I was so nervous that I yelled, “Someone give me a beer!” and Jolie instantly popped up a little tray for me to set it on. She even let me take drink breaks during my make-up application. HA! That makes me sound like a lush but it felt like Jolie really cared and was doing everything in her power to make sure the day went as planned. The make up lasted all from 2pm – midnight and I received a million compliments.

Jolie is a beautiful person inside and out. I was able to have an opportunity to get a recommendation for Jolie from another person and couldn't be happier with her work. I sat down for a consultation with Jolie and she provided me with a transformation of a better version of myself in that afternoon. On our wedding day Jolie was prompt with assistance in tow for our large wedding party. When one of her assistants had to leave unexpectedly because she became ill, Jolie was on the phone and handling the issue in minutes and had another assistant show up on that minutes notice to help finish up our wedding party. I didn't even know there was an issue to be dealt with until one of my bridesmaids mentioned it to me much later after the fact. Jolie only uses the best makeup and truly knows how to accentuate everyones features to put their best face forward. I absolutely recommend Jolie and her makeup services as she is skilled and experienced in her industry.

Jolie was absolutely wonderful. She helped me decide what make-up would like best, but was also mindful of what I wanted. She is so fun and really easy to be around. Jolie's skills are top-notch and I would definitely use her again and again. I couldn't have been happier.

From all the vendors I hired for my wedding, Jolie was by far the most professional. From the first contact she was fast at answering any questions, she cared about all of my needs including those that didn't necessarily have to do with her job. Not only was Jolie friendly and professional but her work speaks for herself. I received many compliments about the makeup, even after dancing every single song at the reception, my makeup remained flawless. I'm very grateful I found Jolie :)

Jolie made the moms, bridesmaids and myself feel absolutely beautiful! She provided a lot of different make-up options which helps with bridesmaids with different budgets. The make-up lasted all night and everyone looked great through the last dance! Plus, her and her staff were nothing but sweet and accommodating!

Jolie is amazing! Not only did she make me look beautiful on my big day but she helped me find other vendors and even went out of her way to help my daughters with their hair touch ups when my hands were full with a million other things the morning of the wedding. She responds immediately to questions and felt like part of my family. Her makeup is really art in the amazing way- she is talented above and beyond the other makeup artists I trailed. I have never looked or felt more beautiful than this day and my makeup lasted all night through hours of dancing. It looked amazing and freshly done even in the end of the night pictures! Thank you jolie for everything. I just cannot say enough positive things about you. This is without a doubt the artist you need for such an important day!!!

Joliee is amazing at what she does for sure! My make-up had never looked so good. She did a fabulous job with my trial and made me feel really comfortable with choosing to go with her. My make-up lasted all day and night with out any issues. The last shots of the night still looked as amazing as the first when my make-up was fresh. The pricing for everything was well within what we planned as well. The bridesmaids looked gorgeous too.
But I do want to put a special thank you out there to you for doing such an amazing job with our daughter, who felt like a princess that day, and especially my mom. She looked AMAZING. You really made her feel special and she just looked gorgeous. She received so many compliments. Thank you so much!

Jolie was wonderful! Very attentive! I don't typically wear much makeup on a daily basis, and she worked so well to find a natural look, but still made up! She did perfect, and I will definitely use her again, when I need makeup done!!

Jolie was super sweet, and does incredible work. I hired her for my wedding, and she did my makeup as well as all of my bridesmaids. She listens to your wants and makes you look absolutely beautiful, yet still you like YOU. I would highly recommend her for anyone looking for great makeup application!

Jolie did a fantastic job on my makeup for both my engagement pictures and wedding day. She captured exactly the look that I wanted. She also did a great job on the makeup for my bridesmaids and mom. She worked with us to determine what was the best look for each one of us. I would recommend her for anyone wanting their makeup done.

If I could give Jolie all 10's I would! Jolie was so wonderful to work with! She is a perfectionist and took her time at my trial making sure I loved everything! On the day of my wedding I was a stressed out wreck! My skin was red, blotchy, and peeling! I thought for sure I was going to look terrible but Jolie worked her magic and my pictures look flawless! By the way Jolie my spots were gone the next day like they had never been there! Thank you again!

Jolie did an amazing job on my make-up for me and my whole wedding party! She is very friendly and flexible and really listened to what I wanted! She came to my house for my engagment pictures and then to the solan for the wedding! Some of my wedding party was so impressed with the job she did they were texting other friends who where engaged her information for thier up coming weddings!
