  Thank you, John!

  We were so thankful to have chosen John as our photographer! He very generously traveled to Washington DC where we live, at no extra charge, for our engagement session. Before the wedding, John sent us a detailed questionnaire about all the people and types of photos we wanted to capture to ensure we wouldn’t miss any shots. I also made a strict schedule for the wedding day since we had a lot to pack in before the ceremony and John stuck to that by the minute! As for the photos, they were so beautiful and perfectly captured our emotions on our special day! John definitely has a whimsical and bright style which fit our personalities and the joyous way we approached our wedding day. He also did a great job with candid shots of the guests that everyone was excited to see. John’s assistant, Meghan, was so fun and she was able to get photos in the rooms where John wasn’t. Last but not least – John is just an all-around awesome guy ;) John, thank you for capturing the memories of our day that we will cherish for the rest of our lives!

  As a wedding planner, I love recommending John to my couples! We have worked on many events and projects together and he always delivers excellence. He is a talented photographer and works to build a genuine relationship with all of his clients. He has a postive attitude, even through the most challenging events.   Breathtaking

  John was so great to work with, he was like a breath a fresh air. He made us feel so special all day. His humor is what made the day even better, he made us feel like we’ve known him for years! He didn’t make us feel rushed at all, we felt very calm. John is such a kind person and we loved having him and his assistance as our wedding photographers. We would recommend them to anyone!!

  The best wedding photographer we could have imagined!

  We hired John for our wedding on July 7, 2018 in Rochester, NY. We couldn't be more happy with his service! From the very first interaction, he was accommodating; none of the packages on his website were exactly what we wanted, but he was flexible and made us a custom package that was perfect for us and for a great price! Leading up to the wedding he kept in touch and made sure he knew the whole schedule and everything. On our wedding day, John just took the lead and made sure he got every shot we could want. We didn't have to worry about anything! e.g. when it was time for sunset pictures, he came and got us! He didn't miss a single moment!

  Great to work with and lovely photos!

  John was our photographer for our wedding this past June and did a truly fabulous job. We absolutely love our engagement and wedding photos. He also had our wedding photos available/ edited very soon after our wedding which was great, as we were eager to see them! We highly recommend John for wedding photography or really any other photography needs.

  My husband and I are really glad we went with John as our photographer for both engagement photos and our wedding. He is very professional and takes his art seriously, but is not afraid to have fun. He was even able to get some people who don't normally smile to look happy in the photos. He was willing to customize his photography packages for us and we are extremely satisfied with the photos.
  
  He has great range as a photographer. We loved the formal portraits, outdoor shots, and the candid photography of the our ceremony and reception. For our wedding and the package we chose John had a partner who was equally fun and talented. The two of them worked really well and made sure to get great coverage of the event.

  If I can give him infinity stars, John killed the photography session for the engagement session and the wedding session. He's very laid back, patient and fun gentleman to be around with. He took fantastic pictures and cannot wait for the final results. Hell, he was deaf accessible too since I taught him the basics!!! He's the man and would take him again in a heartbeat!!

  John and his assistant David photographed our outdoor wedding in Rochester. They were great with our guests, especially managing our huge families. They were receptive to our photo suggestions and they improvised when the lighting was tricky at our ceremony location. My wife and I definitely recommend them!

  John was great! Always capturing moments and not getting in the way. He was good at being where he needed to be and yet not being visible, like a distraction.
  Also, he made everything really easy for us! He even came early to fetch me and my new husband early morning! And got us arranged in such a way so that we saw each other at the right moment. And gave clear directions and always was available to take even more pictures when needed.

  I met John in 2014 for a work event. I knew after seeing those photos and his personality, he had to be my wedding day photographer! He's done family portraits, our engagement, and wedding photos now and each time he takes the time to know exactly what we are looking for, he goes out of his way to make sure he knows the venues we want to take photos at, and works with us on the whole process. I never felt more comfortable with a photographer and never more confident in knowing he will get the pictures we want. I highly recommend John!

  John is the most talented photographer I know, he knows just what to do and when to do it. Working with kids and babies can be daunting but he makes it look like childs play (no pun intended) cause he's really a kid at heart!. My favorite part about him is that he strives to do something different and is not afraid to go the extra mile to get it.

  John is absolutely wonderful. His calm demeanor and great eye really helped make our day possible. If you are looking for unique and artsy photos, this is your guy! John captured all the moments that mattered in a special way. John was professional, on top of things and continued excellent service when it came time for prints. I would highly recommend him.

  John Schlia really is the most outstanding photographer I have ever worked with. When I first met him I instantly felt comfortable and was able to ask any questions I had. John was able to answer all my questions and concerns and helped me pick the package that I needed for my wedding.
  
  For our wedding package, John offered a free engagement shoot. Even though my husband and I do not live in Rochester, John worked on our schedule during our Christmas visit in December to make sure we received our engagement photo shoot. He even went to the zoo with us in freezing cold snowy conditions so we could get the pictures we wanted. The results are fabulous! After our engagement session I knew there would be no problems with the wedding pictures.
  
  At the wedding we were surprised by a heavy downpour all day. This didn't stop John from being able to get amazing shots! We took some extra time in the church, took a few shots with umbrellas out side, and then grabbed some amazing shots inside our hotel before the reception. During the reception, John was able to capture many candid photos of our family and friends. I love having all the candid shots so I can really remember how everyone felt during the ceremony and the reception.
  
  Being a bride is stressful enough without having to worry if you are going to get all the exact shots you want. With John, I didn't have to worry about this at all! I knew I would get all the pictures I wanted and even more! The photos came out beautiful. I ordered many pictures as gifts for my parents and God mother, and am planning on ordering more in the future! If you're looking for a photographer who is relaxed, listens to your concerns, gets to know you on a personal level, and truly makes your day fun and enjoyable, look no further than John Schlia!!

  My husband and I were very pleased with our wedding pictures. Our photographs were with David's Bridal, and John was our photographer. Unfortunately, David's Bridal no longer provides photography. John did an excellent job. John was very pleasant to talk with and work with. Also, John is willing to work with us regarding any questions, any other editing, and any additional photographs that we may want. I would recommend John for photographs. Diane

He was very thorough and flexible, we communicated a number of times leading up to the wedding to make sure everything was well understood and prepared. On the day of the wedding he worked well with our guests, put everyone at ease and got some great shots. Many commented on how well he did at being non-obtrusive, a challenge for wedding photography! John did a great job of working with the environment at our venue to get some creative shots. We would highly recommend him!

  John Schlia is an amazing photographer! He made our wedding day so magical. The photos he took were beautiful and we will treasure them forever. Our favorite photo is a gorgeous shot with the light house in Buffalo, NY behind us. We wouldn't have gotten that shot without John coming up with the idea. We obviously picked our photo location, but John was really helpful in guiding us to the perfect spot at that location. He was so helpful in making sure everyone looked perfect. He was also fabulous in getting a great shot of our shy and timid ring bearer and flower girl. He cracked them out of their shell with ease. John's work was amazing, and he also has a sense of humor which we loved. I would recommend him to everyone I know!

  My husband and I are extremely satisfied with the way our wedding photographs turned out. They are absolutely beautiful and they will be a constant reminder as to what a wonderful wedding day we had. About a month or so before our wedding day, John contacted me asking about types of pictures I was interested in and what locations I had in mind. Up until the day of our wedding, John was very accessible and easy to talk to about any ideas I had. John is a very detail oriented photographer. Before taking 90% of our pictures, he always made sure the lighting was just right and there weren't any shadows. He is an artistic photographer and always knew the perfect places to take each and every picture. Throughout our entire day, John was easy going, professional and passionate about what he does. John was able to capture every moment, including things me and my husband were unable to witness from interacting with guests. At the end of the night, I had so many guests telling me how great our photographer was and how professional and talented he was to be able to capture so many moments and engage with the guests. I couldn't have picked a more phenomenal photographer to be a part of our special day. I would HIGHLY recommend John Schlia to anyone wanting professional photographs taken to capture life changing experiences. You will not be disappointed.   We met John while he was photographing our best friends' wedding on July 6th, 2012. As soon as we saw his photos we knew immediately that we could have no one else capture our special day! So, on July 6th 2013 (yes, we actually share our anniversary date with our best friends!) John caught all of our once-in-a-lifetime moments with ease and professionalism. We could not have asked for a better photographer who we now consider a friend!

He worked with us to figure out exactly what we were interested in, met with us several times to get to know us as a couple and to learn about our wedding plans, and sent us a form with questions so that he would know exactly what sorts of pictures and what combinations of portraits we were hoping for. He came out to the wedding site (a farm) beforehand to scope out good places for pictures, and it was clear that he had a really artful eye and could see and imagine unique and beautiful photo opportunities. On the wedding day, he was wonderful. I really appreciated how natural he was--he didn't have us posing in unnatural or corny ways, but sought to capture who everyone really was, as well as to take some really artful photographs. The photos that he took were beautiful; we are thrilled with them. I had actually known John since high school, so I knew that he was a great person--but he was also a wonderful wedding photographer!
