AMAZING to work with!

Our initial DJ did not end up working out, but the team at JR made sure that didn't stop our wedding day from being PERFECT! We worked with Christian, which was a breeze. From planning to the day of - everything ran smoothly! He read the room, was eager to please, and our guests had a wonderful time! Thank you all for helping make our Big Day the BEST DAY EVER!

Flawless from start to finish. JR went over the top.

JR Music Collective—and John Ross specifically—helped make our wedding day absolutely magical. From the moment we visited John’s website and watched his videos, we knew he would be the perfect fit for our celebration. He was wonderful to work with, always easy to communicate with, and ready with helpful suggestions when we needed guidance.

John provided everything we needed: music and microphones for the ceremony, live acoustic guitar and vocals during cocktail hour, and then an incredible mix of music, mics, and lighting for the reception. His live performance during cocktail hour was beautiful and created such a memorable atmosphere.

What stood out most was John’s artistry and care. He takes real pride in his craft, and it showed throughout the night—he read the crowd effortlessly, keeping the energy flowing and our guests fully engaged. One of the most touching moments came after the wedding: on our one-month anniversary, he surprised us by sending the audio recording of our ceremony. Hearing our vows again brought us to tears, especially since our only regret was not hiring a videographer.

Great experience!

We had a great experience with JR Music Collective. We worked with Blake for our wedding and he did an excellent job. He did a great job selecting the right music that we and our guests would enjoy, and he was very accommodating of our nerdy musical requests. During cocktail hour, he played acoustic guitar and sang and we got several compliments from our guests on the performance. He also DJ’d the reception and kept a lot of our guests dancing right up until the end of the night. We and our guests had a lot of fun and I would definitely recommend working with JR and Blake.

Andrew made our special day more special

Andrew was amazing, we immediately loved his energy just regarding getting all the final details into place for our wedding. He talked us through our questionnaire, made great suggestions. When it came to the big day, he was prompt and just wonderful. We opted for some of him performing live, mixed with the dj services. He delivered on everything, from an amazing setlist filled with beautiful pieces that he performed. Overall, we would recommend Andrew again. We had people asking for more information about him just because they wanted him for their event.

So glad we trusted Dillon at John Ross

Dillon at John Ross absolutely crushed it as a live musician and DJ at our wedding! We were blown away at just how well he understood our vibe. He really put us at ease. Leading up to the day we were worried that we had too many rules “no Journey” “no dad rock” and “no requests” etc. We thought maybe we were making it hard for people to dance to our music, but we knew we liked Dillon’s playlists and we didn’t want to be overly prescriptive— we knew we could trust in him and we’re so glad that we did.

From the first song it all went smoothly. A couple of times we went to request a song and he already had it queued up like he had read our minds.

Dillon’s singing and guitar playing was so lovely. It really helped to make our first dance that much more special— even as my wife and I were beyond nervous about it. Thank you Dillon for helping to make our wedding day unforgettable.

The perfect choice for music!

We loved working with Bo and John Ross Music for our wedding! They are very organized and it was easy to fill out the form they provided for must have music vs. do not play songs. We were able to keep updating it as we thought of new songs we loved. Everyone was so impressed with our music throughout the whole day. Bo played live for our ceremony and even learned some specific songs we requested. It was unforgettable! When it came to the reception, Bo was just as impressive, if not more! He checked in with us throughout the event to make sure we were happy or to see if we thought a specific song would excite the crowd. My parents and relatives commented that the sound level was perfect! They could have conversations and still enjoy the music. We had the best time and Bo made sure everyone else did as well. You won't regret it

We knew we wanted live music on our wedding day, but the cost of hiring a DJ and someone to perform seemed daunting. We went to a wedding with a musician/DJ from John Ross and realized this was perfect for us. Dalton was amazing to work with. He performed live during our cocktail hour and sang our first dance. He was a great MC and awesome DJ. He was also accommodating when we needed to do a few songs out of their planned order. If you are thinking of having live music and a DJ, look no further. We'd highly recommend John Ross Music and also Dalton specifically.

The best DJ!

We are so glad we chose John Ross Music for our wedding DJ. From the beginning, communication was great. Jenny made sure to keep us informed of important dates or things we needed to get done before the wedding and she was very easy to communicate with! We chose Chaz for our DJ and are SO glad we did!! Chaz was awesome! People were asking us all night where we got our DJ and even though we had a small wedding, he kept everyone on the dance floor. Everyone had a great time dancing. Chaz was also great in terms of meeting before the wedding, communication, etc. Highly recommend Chaz and John Ross Music, we had a great experience!

Andrew made the full day so seamless - from the ceremony mics and music, to the speeches, and dancefloor - and went above and beyond by letting my cousins even use his guitar to perform a song. Best of Both Worlds - Live Music + DJ Service

We debated booking live music vs a DJ for our destination wedding in Hood River, Oregon before we found John Ross Music. We booked Michael for live ceremony and cocktail hour music followed by DJ service for the reception. This was truly the best of both worlds and working with a single musician throughout the full day was seamless. Michael was incredible all day. He beautifully played guitar for our ceremony (including learning a new song), sang and played guitar during the cocktail hour and our special dances, and transitioned into DJ services for the rest of the evening except the last song played live on guitar (a fantastic way to cap off the night). Michael's voice was wonderful and he is a very talented musician! Throughout the planning process and the wedding day Michael and the John Ross Music team were very friendly and responsive. We highly recommend John Ross Music for your wedding and especially Michael!

Amazing and talented musician/DJ!

So happy we chose John Ross for our wedding. It is so unique to have a DJ who can also sing and play an instrument. He performed amazing instrumentals of our favorite songs when we walked down the aisle. He has his own setlist you can choose for him to perform live songs from, or you can pay $50 to have him learn a new song. He sang and played guitar for our first dance and it felt like we were at a private concert! He has a great voice and we got lots of compliments from our guests! He was super professional with the announcements, flexible about last minute changes to the timeline, and did great DJing using our preferred setlist. Highly recommended, his experience definitely shows, couldn’t imagine anyone doing a better job!

Bo is the best of the best

Our experience with John Ross Music, and our DJ/musician, Bo Baskaro, was phenomenal from start to finish. We knew choosing our DJ was much more important than it can initially seem- this person is keeping everything moving, reading the room, setting the tone for the dance party.

Bo was truly the perfect choice for us. The man's voice- OMG! We were able to incorporate some really special and unique songs into our ceremony that he learned for us, and for one of our parental dances. It made everything personal on a completely different level, and be an aspect of our wedding day that I will forever treasure. Plus, Bo is just kind and fun- he has such a positive attitude- at one point, it was obvious that I was disappointed that timeline got off and our dance party got started late...Bo came up to me, filled me in on how everyone was mingling and enjoying dessert (while we did sunset photos), and no one was missing a thing. Then we got that party started. It made me feel so much better, and we had such a fun party that I only wish had lasted longer.

The packages for John Ross Music were reasonable when compared to others, and I really felt we got everything we wanted out of it without having to add extras. They're pros, you cannot go wrong!

Extremely talented musicians

We hired Daniel with John Ross as our DJ/musician and were blown away by his talent!! He was able to play the piano during our ceremony, provide vocals during cocktail hour while continuing to play the piano, and switch to guitar for a live mother/son dance - and in addition to being able to just do all these things he executed all the songs phenomenally. John Ross also provided us with a wonderful cellist for the ceremony. The company was very helpful and professional in the months leading up to the wedding and were able to accommodate a last minute first dance change just days before the ceremony. Cannot thank them enough for being a part of our big day!

Exceptional Musician, DJ, (and coach!)

It might seem a bit strange to have someone write a review other than the couple who got married, but I think it says a lot about John Ross that, as the officiant for my niece's wedding, I thought so highly of John that I wanted to go on the record and tell other people why they should hire him. In my 62 years I've attended my share of weddings, but this was the first wedding where I was actually performing the wedding ceremony. Needless to say, I was a bit scared about screwing it up, especially since this was for my niece whom I really care about. It was my good fortune that John was on hand as the DJ and Live Music performer. In addition to doing an exceptional job playing beautiful music, John rigged me with my mike so that everyone at the windy outdoor wedding could clearly hear me, he coached me on sequencing and timing of events, and he cued me at key moments during the ceremony. His calm demeanor was infectious and it helped me settle down and pull off an incredible wedding. After the ceremony, I then was able to spend more time watching John work his magic throughout the rest of the event, playing his guitar, singing, and DJ-ing an amazing mix of music that fit every part of the evening from dinner, to first dance, to cutting loose to celebrate this special wedding. If I ever perform another wedding in Oregon, I'll be the first to recommend John to the bride and groom as a "must-have" for their wedding. -- Doug Ball

Flexible and creative

We had Dillon as our live musician/DJ and he ROCKED it! My husband is very specific about music and can be a little particular when it comes to music. He knew exactly what he wanted played during our wedding day and made 5 super extensive playlists. Dillon was so flexible and super open to having many calls with my husband as they sorted out the music for the day and worked on building the vibe we wanted. Dillon was also super responsive and Flexible with us, even when we made a last minute change to our ceremony music two days before the event! Dillon played live music as well and it was such high quality, guests couldn’t believe it wasn’t an edited recording! Overall, awesome experience with John Ross Music. They are so processional and truly know what they are doing; we are so glad we booked them!

We booked Kelly from John Ross for our wedding music needs - and he was amazing! I was sold on John Ross Music once I saw on their website that these talented musicians can perform live in the ceremony AND DJ during the reception. Kelly was one of my first choices after listening to the audio samples on the website and I was so thrilled that he was available on our wedding day.

We love how flexible John Ross Music was - we were able to customize which parts of our wedding we wanted performed live. We asked Kelly to learn a new song for the father/daughter dance and it was so good, it brought tears to my eyes. So many of our guests commented how awesome the live music was as well as the DJ - we had to tell them that he was one and the same!

Also, everyone from John Ross Music was extremely professional, nice, and easy to work with. Great communication!

one of the best parts of our wedding!

We had such a great experience with John Ross. Our initial wedding date had to be postponed by more than a year due to COVID, and had to rebook from our original DJ because we couldn’t make it work with the new date. This ended up being great news for us because we had originally wanted John Ross but he was booked on our first date.

John was so easy going and really was able to get the party started and going when we had some logistical issues delay our dinner. Our guests all LOVED the music and John had everyone on the dance floor from the first song to the last. He also played the Dhol, and Indian drum, during an event before the ceremony. He rented us a speaker for another event as well for very cheap and at the last minute.

Long story short John Ross was amazing and I highly recommend you book him for your event!

Robby with John Ross Productions was amazing

I can not speak highly enough of how amazing it was to have John Ross Productions and Robby in charge of the music for our wedding. From the beginning they were very responsive, direct, and helpful all throughout the process. They helped with music selections and answered any questions we had. On our wedding day, Robby played instrumental music during the ceremony and cocktail hour before transitioning into a DJ towards the end of the night. He was fantastic in every way. Thank you Robby!

Best dj ever!

As soon as we started communication with John we knew we wanted HIM! He was super friendly and listened to mine and my (now husband's) needs! We wanted a diverse playlist and he delivered just that! We asked to only play our songs and he did! In the midst of getting married through a pandemic and having to had postpone our wedding three times, John made those couple of hours FUN and romantic and kept our order of events on TIME! I had guests tell me that I got them to dance! But really it was John who knew just what order to play our songs and who made our wedding reception a blast! I would 100% recommend hiring John for your wedding, you will NOT be disappointed! Thanks John for sticking with Jason and me through our 3 date changes (Covid19 got nothing on us! Michael Blake came highly recommended and for obvious reason!

We heard about John Ross Productions and specifically Michael Blake from another vendor we interviewed and we are so glad we hired him for our big day. The dance party was the most important piece to me (after getting married, of course) and he executed our hopes perfectly. We loved Dillon!

We decided to use John Ross Music after a glowing recommendation from a friend and I’m so glad that we did! They were so professional and made it so easy on us on the big day. Affordable and they included everything that we needed so we didn’t have to worry about adding extra microphones or speakers, etc. There was an easy to use web portal to choose music/make payments and Jenny, the office admin was a great communicator and always kept us in the loop! We chose Dillon as our DJ after listening to his music on their website and he was incredible! He played acoustic music for our ceremony and his voice is so beautiful- it really made our ceremony so special! He learned a special song to accompany my family singing. He is also an amazing DJ- the dance floor was packed the entire night! I would 100% recommend Dillon and John Ross Music to anyone getting married!

Amazing Experience with Michael

Michael and the team from John Ross Productions were so easy to work with. They stayed in touch throughout the whole process, giving us all of the details we needed and answering any questions we had. Michael played live music at the ceremony and cocktail hour (including one song we asked him to learn) and then also was the DJ during dinner and the reception. Exactly what we were looking for!

Our main goal for wedding music was to have a mix of live/acoustic and DJ. Bo with John Ross Music 100% delivered. Best Choice for Music!

We hired John Ross for our wedding and we are so happy with our choice! John played our ceremony music and was flexible in what he could play as it was a shortened Catholic ceremony. He then played in a three-piece band for our reception, sang our first dance song and dj'd the dancing part of our reception. We went with John Ross for our wedding on 8/24. Robby was our DJ & musician and he was absolutely amazing! Everyone thought he did a great job during the ceremony and when he performed the song for our first dance. I am so happy we found him through John Ross! He also did a great job as a DJ. I absolutely loved working with John Ross Music! I specifically got to work with John himself. I would go back and do it all over if I could. He really is unbelievable. His thought and care he puts into every detail of the music choice and even the layout of the day is amazing. He spends time with you helping you narrow down exactly what you want. That isn’t even the best part. He sings beautifully! He sang live during our ceremony, happy hour and our first dance! It was so perfect. I was truly grateful with how amazing he made our day.

Custom, adventurous, communicative-- Kelly Bechtel rocked!

We asked guitarist Kelly Bechtel to head up in a snowcat to Silcox Hut on a blizzardy day-- he was so up for adventure, set up his gear in a tight space and timeframe, and then crushed the 4 custom songs we asked him to learn! He and John Ross were so responsive, communicative, clear. We got awesome feedback and really had the perfect touch to our day. Don't hesitate to invest in John Ross! They even provided a full audio recording of all the songs and ceremony

John Ross was incredible!

We are so glad we booked John Ross music for our wedding. They have a team of musicians, but we actually had John Ross play for us at the wedding. He is very skilled and we loved his acoustic performances for the opening procession, during dinner, and for our first dances. We had more of a typical wedding dance party and John totally crushed that as well. He was easy to work with and had great friendly energy. We would definitely recommend John Ross Music to help make your wedding day perfect!

Beautiful live ceremony music and reception d.j.

We hire Michael Blake from John Ross Productions. Michael was so easy to work with. He preformed beautiful live music at the ceremony which was outdoors and was responsive to guests special requests during the reception; indoors. We loved having one person do live music and dj.

Organized, Professional, Talented Musicians

We had a great experiencing working with John Ross Music for our wedding. They are organized. Their online portal made everything so easy to track and update. They walked us through the process for selecting our music and the flow for our event so that it felt like we hardly did any work at all.

Andrew Serino is a fantastic musician, DJ, and emcee. He even learned a new song to play for our recessional with only a month's notice. And he did an excellent job of managing song requests and making last-minute adjustments as things changed during the day itself.

I would highly recommend John Ross Music!

Our wedding coordinators recommended John Ross Musicians and DJ. They were a great choice! We had Kelly as our musician/DJ. Live music as guests arrived and during the cocktail hour was a perfect touch of class. Great selections by Kelly for background music during dinner. Kelly was a wonderful emcee for all the special moments: bride and groom entrance, toast announcements, cake cutting, first dances, bouquet and garter toss...And then the DANCE PARTY! It was Epic! Everyone had a fabulous time- thanks to a well done play list!

Thank you John Ross Music and Michael Blake!!!! Highly, highly recommend working with John Ross Music! Leading up to the wedding the team was easy to communicate with and gave recommendations for how to make the wedding flow. Our guests couldn't stop talking about how lovely the music was! Michael Blake played a live acoustic set during the pre-lude. We added on a cello for our ceremony (highly recommend). Then, Michael Blake played a live acoustic set during cocktail hour, DJ and MC service for the rest of the night. I loved working with John Ross because they knew exactly what they were doing! Thank you for making our wedding so much fun!!!

John Ross music was absolutely fantastic! From the initial inquiry to the final event, we felt like they really got to know us an how we wanted our day to look and feel. Andrew (whom we and guest alike, LOVED) played personal pieces of music live throughout our ceremony. They really know how to be the master of ceremony and engaged with the crowd to get everyone ready on the dance floor! If you want a great party and your guests to dance all night book John Ross Music and Production! Our Dj was Michael Blake and he really factored in everything we wanted! Our guests had so much fun, and everybody loved our dinner time music. The lighting during the reception was really fun and I had several people ask me if we used a separate rental service for it. After the wedding they even sent me the recording of all the audio from that day! I would recommend them to any family or friend’s needing a DJ!

We were so pleased with John Ross music and our DJ, Michael. They were recommended as the in-house DJ at our venue and from the first contact we knew we were dealing with professionals. They were flexible (we had a friend play us down the aisle and a bagpiper play our recessional but used their DJ to fill in before and after) and were able to incorporate recommended songs during dinner we had from years of exchanging playlists. It made our night all the more meaningful!

Michael was pleasant, professional, and able to read our crowd well. We appreciated having an MC to keep things flowing. I happened to meet John during set up. Based on those two and a phone call with Jenny in their front office, we can tell this group enjoys their work. Highly recommend!

John Ross DJ and Productions: We couldn’t be happier with John Ross DJ for our wedding in July! We had Andrew Serino as our DJ and live music singer and he was simply AMAZING. From our first meeting the whole team was on our side and wanted to make our day as special as they could. Andrew Serino knew our venue well, so setup/take down were a breeze. In terms of music, Andrew had great knowledge of setlists, played a wide variety of live music and kept the day flowing with announcements! We are so thankful we chose John Ross Music and Production for our wedding. Michael did an amazing job. All of our guests complemented his live music as well as song choices for the dance floor.
As most people would agree, the wedding day is quite a blur. John Ross sent us a recording of our vows and toasts shortly after our wedding. We were not expecting this and it was a wonderful surprise. Thank you for letting us relive those moments. So much of the blur was cleared upon hearing those recordings.
We highly recommend John Ross and Productions as well as Michael Blake. You guys are wonderful to work with!

Wonderful DJ! John was the DJ for our wedding in July, and he was a perfect choice. His office kept in contact with us reguarly from our first inquiry until the event. My husband was in charge o music, he communicated with John both online and at an in person meeting a month or so before the event and was extremely happy (as was I) with the whole process. The online questionnaire was a great way for John to get an idea of what we wanted, and a great way for me and husband to get on the same page about music for the whole event. John and Mike (from the Elysian Ballroom) worked well together, meaning we didn’t have to worry about coordinating DJ and venue at all. I loved when my guests came to me and asked who my DJ was because the music was so perfect at every stage of the wedding. I would happily recommend John Ross DJs to anyone.

I am so, so happy we worked with John for DJ services for our wedding! First, the entire planning process was a pleasure. How often does the groom say that a meeting with a vendor was "fun"? We had a blast picking out songs and setting the tone for our wedding with John. On the wedding day itself he performed beautifully, with live music for our ceremony and cocktail hour and top-notch DJ services for our dinner and reception. I would recommend John Ross music to absolutely anyone who wants an experienced, good-natured, professional person/team in charge of creating the atmosphere at your wedding-- a very important job that John knocked out of the park!

I would recommend John Ross for any event, especially a wedding. He was so helpful throughout the entire planning process (i.e. had detailed forms for music preference, ideas for songs, etc.) and was awesome on the day of. We were running behind schedule at one point and he came up and asked if he could pick and choose from our must-play list based on the vibe of the reception. I LOVED this because it took all the pressure off of us. The music turned out fantastic.

However, my favorite part might have the fact the played the guitar as I walked down the aisle. It felt very special and personalized.

Lastly, John Ross provided lighting (pictures provided) that really elevated dinner and the reception at night.

Highly, highly recommend!

We LOVED working with John Ross Productions!! We had Andrew as our musician, and words can't express how much we loved him and how talented he is. John himself was also very amazing, he and Andrew both were at every meeting we had. Their professionalism and attentiveness was amazing. They are also very responsive and open to any fun ideas!! Our guests are still raving about how much they loved the mix of live music and DJ'ing. The mix of live music when we walked down the aisle really added a special touch to the ceremony, and our first dance live was the most beautiful version. John was great! I enjoyed his online questionnaire and it really helped us get the feel of the music we wanted while still leaving room for surprises. John is also basically like a second wedding coordinator on the day-of, helping run things smoothly, telling us (the bride and groom) whee to go, as well as helping herd the large amount of guests where they need to be any given time. When booking the Elysian Ballroom for our September wedding, we were told that we could get a special rate from John Ross Studios for our DJ needs. They are the preferred company for our venue and keep equipment in-house at all times, which means their musicians are all familiar and comfortable with the venue, and reduces set-up time. We scheduled a meeting with Kevin Florence, and got so much more than we were hoping for! Kevin asked great questions about our taste in music, our guests, and the vibe we envisioned for our wedding. He got excited with us over certain song choices – like “Hoppipolla” by Sigur Ros for our bridal processional – and made us feel like we were chatting with a friend. The day of the wedding, Kevin was a friendly, welcoming presence behind the DJ booth. He blended into the background well during the ceremony, and gave wonderful direction to our guests for all the events of the reception. During dinner, Kevin played the perfect mix of happy, contented, romantic music that could’ve been straight off my Spotify playlist, such as “Have a Little Faith in Me” by John Hiatt. We are forever grateful to Kevin and John Ross Studios for helping make our wedding the best day ever!

Here is the note I sent to our DJ, Bo Baskoro, a few days after my daughter's wedding that sums up our high level of satisfaction. Not only was Bo great to work with, John Ross and his staff were very professional and always available to us. I highly recommend them!
Bo, Just wanted to thank you for all you did to make Morgan and Peter’s wedding a great success!
From the beginning, Morgan kept saying how attentive you were, and great to work with in planning the music and sound for both the wedding and reception. With so many details to think about on the days leading up to the wedding, I really appreciated your contact and communication confirming details, the event timeline, and your arrival time at the resort.
Once the ceremony started, you were the guiding force behind the scenes. The one who made everything happen without anyone noticing. You were in the right place at the right time, there with a microphone when necessary, and when not, making sure the officiant could be heard at the perfect volume. After that, you moved quickly over to the Ballroom, and made sure things went as planned. And even when our guests threw you a couple of curveballs, you handled it like the true professional you are.
When I first spoke to John Ross about you, he told me that you are extremely capable and excellent at what you do. He also said that you are a great guy who will be friends with everyone there by the end of the wedding. He could not have been more right. In fact, the day after the wedding, some of us were talking about what a great success the wedding was, thanks in great part to you, and we agreed that we should have invited you to the bonfire on the beach after the wedding because somehow you had worked your way into our hearts and we felt like you belonged there. Okay, enough gushing about how wonderful you are. I just want you to know how much we appreciate the terrific job you did.

Andrew was outstanding leading up, the day of, and even after our wedding. The music was flawless, everything exactly how we requested. John is an absolute professional and has a roster of DJs who put in the time to cater to YOUR personal tastes and create a playlist accordingly. Kevin, our DJ, did a great job of working across multiple genres and keeping the energy at peak levels for the whole reception. Not to mention, the libations were flowing freely and he was masterful at handling several of us who were overserved and in his ear all night. Not to mention, he basically pulled the whole thing off with only 48 hours of planning, as my wife and I were way behind the 8 ball with providing our playlist and setting up our introductory call. Book these guys!

Our entire experience with the John Ross Music team was excellent. Although all of our communication prior to our wedding ceremony and reception was done via email, our music/audio was flawless. We could not have asked for a better musician in Michael Blake - he can perform a wide variety of genres and excels with each one. We have continued to listen to his personal album, Let a Thousand Flowers Bloom, since our big day.

Everyone at John Ross Music was so wonderful to work with. They were very professional, always responded to questions in a timely manner, and made the process very easy. Kelly was amazing and truly made our wedding day special. He has an incredible voice and the live music gave the ceremony and reception that special touch we were looking for. By answering a few questions, Kelly was able to create a playlist that went with the feel of the wedding and appealed to everyone. He was a great dj and had people on the dance floor for hours! Guests talked about how amazing he was for weeks after the wedding.

Working with John Ross Music was an amazing experience! I wanted something a little different then just a d.j. but knew it didn't make sense to hire someone to just do live music for the ceremony with the size of our wedding. I came across John Ross Music and it was like a dream come true! We worked with Michael Blake who did an incredible job and was so flexible when plans changed a bit because of rain. I cannot say enough about my experience with John Ross Music. If you are within their service area, stop looking and book today. I recently got married on the Oregon Coast and planned everything from Columbus, Ohio. JRM makes everything so easy from the beginning. Their website it top notch, we were able to listen to all their musicians and luckily the one we fell in love with was available for our ceremony. He agreed to come out to the coast as well as learn our wedding song. Payments were easy and secure. The pre-wedding checklist was so thorough, we appreciated it this a lot because there were details that we hadn't even thought of but they had. Any question I had I received an answer right away. They really know how to treat their customers right!
And for Kelly Bechtell our musician... I pray that we will find a way to see him again. Our wedding was very intimate, just our our parents and siblings. And Kelly really was part of the family that day. We first heard his songs online and fell in love with his voice, we read his profile and thought he could the perfect person for our wedding, and I cannot put into words how blessed we feel to have had him there. We love him, our family loves him, and we could not have had anyone better.

John Ross Music Music & Production is simply THE BEST. Their online tools that capture your music asks and tastes are great, because they make you think about every single component. They then schedule a meeting with you to review and talk through your day. We ended up with a 4-way conference call between me, my fiance in London, John Ross and Bo, our selected musician/DJ. Bo was away performing at a music festival and he took time out of his evening to step away before his performance to talk with us. Both John and Bo were so incredibly professional, kind and genuinely interested in making our wedding day as smooth as possible. I was so excited after this meeting because of their attention to detail, specific questions that they asked and sincere enthusiasm. We could tell that Bo wanted to do a great job for us. And he did, as our wedding day was INCREDIBLE! Your musician/DJ can make or break your wedding, and Bo absolutely nailed it. The live music during our ceremony and reception was beautiful. Bo did an amazing job as the emcee throughout the entire night, and then the dancing! The music was awesome, he kept the energy up and the dance floor was packed for every song. I could not have asked for a better experience. I was told that John Ross and his team are the best in Portland, and I can confirm that this is absolutely true. Do not hesitate to book them - they are worth every penny!

They gave us all their DJ and live music packages up front. Once we selected one and booked them, Jennifer in their office helped us manage our preferences and selections. It was really easy to communicate what songs we wanted when, and the vibe we were going for during our reception. Kelly was our DJ, and he did an awesome job! He played everything we asked for, and ran with the vibe we requested for our reception (90's dance party). Our guests loved it, and got SO into the music! There was always a crowd on the dance floor, and we couldn't have been more pleased with how organized, professional, and fun to work with everyone on the staff was. We were incredibly happy that we chose John Ross to DJ our wedding. Not only is John possibly one of the sweetest people we have ever met, he is incredibly talented with music. This comes out with his beautiful singing voice, his beautiful guitar playing, and his amazing ear with music. We had John play an esoteric piece for our wedding that I guarantee he had never heard before, and he picked it up within minutes. He is incredibly organized with his questionnaire that you fill out ahead of time that helps him clarify how you want the wedding to go. He interacted very well with all of our wedding guests. Definitely one of our best decisions we made for our wedding was to work with John Ross!

If you are looking for the best ceremony musician and DJ, John Ross is it! We chose John for our wedding because we wanted live music during our wedding ceremony and a DJ during our reception. John was so fun and easy to work with! His team is incredibly organized and make the process of choosing music one of the least stressful points of wedding planning. He was able to learn a new song to perform live for us for our first dance and it made the moment even more perfect! For the reception, he gives the option to choose as many songs as you want, or leave it open. We chose a few specific songs but wanted the reception to be a fun dance party. Our guests were blown away by John's selections and loved the live performances. We (and our friends) have been to a lot of weddings in the past few years and they all said John was the best DJ/performer they had seen and we couldn't agree more!

We LOVED having John Ross Music as apart of our big day! Andrew did an amazing job from start to our 2am finish! We had a few ceremony hiccups and they were able to just roll with the punches and keep things going. Would highly recommend them! They made everything super simple and were super accommodating to what we were wanting at the different stages of the night!

John was FANTASTIC. Simply put he was professional leading up to the event, and was fun and engaging day of event. He managed our wedding perfectly, and allowed for perfect flow day of. We even custom-learned a song to be used for the father/daughter dance and sang a duet with a family member. Just his above and beyond example! We can't imagine a better DJ company to work with in Oregon.

John Ross and his team, particularly Andrew who was our DJ for the event, was phenomenal! John Ross and team were organized throughout, and made the process really easy for setting up how we wanted our music, introductions, specific songs and general themes/artists, with plenty of level of customization (and we really love music, so had a lot of suggestions which Andrew incorporated perfectly).

We couldn't have asked for a better day, and Andrew was a huge part of making it happen. First, he provided both live acoustic guitar for the ceremony and cocktail hour, then DJ'd for the dinner and dancing - not often you get high quality from one person doing all of that, but Andrew more than delivered. We were a bit slow on finalizing what we wanted music, and even asked for a custom song not on his standard setlist of live music to be performed with my cousin. who sang They rehearsed a bit before the wedding, and absolutely nailed it - it sounded like they'd practiced for weeks. Andrew was so accommodating to learn the song so fast and play with my cousin, and it came out so good. He continued to be a great on the guitar, playing live covers for cocktail hour, orchestrating toasts, dinner, etc. and playing great music for dinner, and then DJ'ing a phenomenal setlist which incorporated tons of our requested songs while sprinkling in a few others that fit in perfectly - people were dancing the whole time and could have kept going, it was an amazing dance party that all ages enjoyed, mixing in songs old and young could get down to.

All said, we couldn't have been happier with Andrew and the whole John Ross team, and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. Cheers!

John Ross was amazing! We were not the best at knowing exactly what we wanted for song choice but he asked all the right questions and executed perfectly. He was so professional and all of our guests loved all the music he played. He played a perfect balance of slow and upbeat songs and managed all the requests with us in mind. I refer him to all my engaged friends!

When someone tells you that you can have a DJ who can also sing live (and sing incredibly well) at your wedding... there's no reason to look anywhere else. Not having to choose between live music or a DJ was music to our ears (pun intended... ha). On top of that, every single aspect of working with John Ross Music was so simple and positive. From talking with John Ross himself, to working with our AMAZING musician/DJ Andrew Serino, to the front office emails from Jennifer... everyone was super professional, prompt, and friendly. Contracts/details/payment were super easy to deal with, too. They also provided us with some uplighting at a much better price than other options! We got lots of compliments about Andrew from our guests, and I would absolutely work with them all again, no question! I'd highly recommend them to anyone else!!

John and Kelly were absolutely amazing and so helpful! My husband and I needed some help picking a few songs and ways to the dances with our parents, and John and Kelly were so easy to talk to and gave us great ideas that really added to making our wedding day even more special. Our videographer (not from John Ross Music and Production) unfortunately didn't get audio from our best man's and maid of honor's toasts, but John Ross' company e-mailed me audio from the toasts and I am so happy and relieved! Kelly, our DJ, played awesome music during the dinner and dancing hours. My husband and I truly had a wonderful, beautiful day, and we couldn't be any happier that we chose John Ross Music and Production for our wedding :)

Hiring John Ross Music and Production for our wedding was one of the best decisions we made. The entire process was stress-free and seamless; they were super responsive and willing to meet as many times as we wanted. We chose Kevin to be our musician and he just absolutely nailed it. After our meeting, we were confident that he knew exactly what we were looking for. Our guests loved his live performances during cocktail hour and he was a great MC/DJ when we transitioned into the reception. Kevin really knew how to gauge the crowd and played songs that kept people on the dance floor all night, which I think is the real value in a good DJ. We cannot recommend John Ross enough!

John Ross was an absolute pleasure to work with. He and his staff were so accommodating and easy to work with. With the hot weather and large guest count on our day some last minute changes had to take place and John Ross was ready. He did not miss a beat in bring excellent music to our day. One of the reasons we chose John Ross Music and Production was because he is the house DJ for our venue, the Elysian Ballroom. It was incredibly easy to set up and there were no hiccups on the day of. Kevin was our DJ and he understood our style and music choice. They both appreciated our sense of humor and accommodated for it. They also recorded our ceremony and toasts, which I wasn't expecting! I highly recommend!

John Ross Music was amazing! Awesome music during the ceremony and cocktail hour and then we got tons of comments on how people had never since such a full dance floor. He kept the party going and kept things moving. We had the time of our lives and it was largely because of John. One and done for weddings, but if we ever had a big party I'd use him again in a heartbeat and highly, highly recommend him! My mom loved coordinating with him - and she's a tough cookie!

We love you John Ross!!!! I knew John from my years in the event industry and he was one of a short list of 2 that we discussed for our wedding. John was great - so easy to work with, great detailed paperwork to get us organized, and the day of the wedding he did a great job keeping the pace and timing just right. Everyone seemed to have a wonderful time. We didn't have a lot of guests and of those, quite a few left after dinner but the core group that wanted to dance did so with gusto and I think all enjoyed themselves. Thank you John and your staff for a wonderful wedding!

John was THE best vendor at our wedding, and I hate to use the word vendor because he felt much more like someone who really listened to our requests and what we wanted. We received so many compliments about his voice, the music he played, and what his name was because our guests were really in love.

Michael Blake did a wonderful job performing our ceremony as well as happy hour music, it definitely helped contribute to the wonderful atmosphere of the event. Our guests really enjoyed his work as well.

Groom: as a guitarist, and former teacher and musician, I really appreciate Michael's intuitive song selection on the dance floor based on one single request. His professional attitude and top flight performance was a welcomed enhancement to the atmosphere of elegance that we were seeking.

I feel so fortunate to have found John Ross Music for our wedding, and could not recommend them more highly! John played guitar/sang during our ceremony and during our cocktail hour, and then switched to playing the role of DJ/MC for the rest of the evening. We could not have been happier with the professional, completely customizable, and reasonably priced experience that really made our wedding celebration a party. We were really torn between having live musicians and a DJ - with John Ross Music, we got both for the price of one! Working with John and his office staff was a breeze (which, if you're reading this, you know is not always the case with wedding vendors) - they were responsive, helpful, and patient with us as we figured out what we wanted for our big day. Working with John (and his company) was a GREAT decision for our wedding! They are so professional and organized, we loved the ability to work on our song preferences and the plan for our ceremony over time and update our questionnaires with our evolving ideas. John met with us a couple of times to get to know us which we really appreciated, and then he (expertly) learned a song for our first dance which we loved. Our guests seemed to have a blast on the dance floor which he kept very lively. It was great to work with one musician for our whole day, and John's got it down to a science!

Andrew and John are incredible!!!!! From the initial meeting to the wedding day everything went so well. All of the communication and organization was spot on. They had great forms for us to fill out to customize everything we wanted. Andrew sang for cocktail hour and for our first dance, which was amazing. Then he was the DJ/MC for the reception. The reception and all the dancing was amazing. His music selections and ability to read our crowd was spot on, the dance floor was packed for the whole wedding! He even helped start a conga line, which our guests loved!!!! Andrew helped make our wedding the best day ever, highly recommend booking with John Ross!

We loved having John Ross at our wedding! He played live music throughout the ceremony and cocktail hour, and then masterfully switch to DJ mode during dinner. He was wonderful to communicate with before the wedding and the personalized website as easy to customize what we wanted. I also appreciated his recommendations based on past experiences. John provided all the cords and sound equipment needed, and showed up early to test everything out, and we received several compliments about both the live music and DJ skills. He also helped keep things on schedule as our emcee, and worked closely with our planner.

Though John was required by our venue to use their speakers (which hindered his volume a little) we still all had a great time and hardly noticed. If you want someone to be your emcee, live musician & singer, and DJ, go with John Ross - he's got a ton of experience and was very easy and friendly to work with!
