Jennie is the gold standard for LGBTQ+ and BIPOC wedding photography!
My wife and I were adamant that we wanted vibrant wedding photos that would accurately reflect skin colors (ours and those of our guests)—a sharp contrast to the typical white-washed, overly filtered wedding photography that's all over the internet. We knew as soon as we saw Jennie's portfolio that she was the right photographer for us. Plus, as a queer couple, it was a relief to get to work with an openly queer photographer.
Jennie photographed our elopement on Mount Blue Sky in summer 2024 and our wedding in fall 2025, and we are obsessed with the photos from both events. Jennie has a knack for capturing the energy in the room. For our elopement, that meant intimate moments in natural spaces. And for our wedding, that meant colorful, queer, sparkly, and gorgeously diverse joy all night long.
Jennie is worth every dollar you'll spend on her! Promise. -

We had the privilege of working with Jennie for my daughter’s wedding, and we cannot say enough wonderful things about her. We originally found Jennie on The Knot, and it was important to us that our photographer be completely comfortable shooting an LGBTQ wedding, experienced in selecting locations, and attentive to the moments that matter most. Jennie exceeded every expectation.
From the start, she was thoughtful, kind, and exceptionally professional. We hired her team to document the entire wedding weekend—from the welcome party to a photo shoot at Chautauqua Park, and of course the wedding and reception. Throughout it all, Jennie made my daughter and her wife feel supported, at ease, and beautifully seen. She captured countless candid moments alongside the more formal photos, each one filled with authenticity and joy.
Jennie and Jas were ever-present but never intrusive. They blended seamlessly into the celebration while still catching every smile, tear, and detail. They also made stunning use of the natural surroundings for the detail shots, which was an unexpected and delightful touch.
When the reception ran long, Jennie graciously stayed an extra half hour, even after a full day of shooting. About a month later, we received a sneak-peek gallery of about 100 photos that absolutely thrilled us. Jennie and Jas ultimately took thousands of images and carefully curated a gorgeous collection of the very best moments from the entire weekend.
They captured the smiles, the laughter, the tears, and the overwhelming joy of the celebration. I highly, highly recommend Jennie Crate—you will not be disappointed. -

We found Jennie through a Google search while looking specifically for queer-friendly wedding photographers, and honestly—what a find! Her photo style immediately stood out to us (so dreamy and real), and her website was packed with genuinely helpful resources that made us feel like we were in good hands from the start.
From our very first meeting, Jennie was AMAZING. So friendly, so down-to-earth, and just... got us. Our engagement shoot was such a fun experience—it felt totally natural, we laughed the whole time, and the photos turned out exactly how we imagined (maybe even better?). Then came the wedding day, and it was honestly perfect. Jennie and her team were incredible—they were so kind, relaxed, and professional but also felt like part of the crew. It never felt like we had cameras in our faces; it felt like we were hanging out with friends who happened to be capturing every magical moment.
Jennie also went above and beyond during the planning process—she hyped us up constantly, helped build our timeline, and took so much pressure off our shoulders. That kind of support is priceless when you're planning a wedding.

Jennie was the first and only photographer I even considered. Her work is gorgeous and we are so so happy will our entire experience - great communication before and after our event, her and her second photographer were fantastic on the day of, and our full gallery could not be more perfect. We booked Jennie for our wedding reception photos and we would highly recommend her! From the get go we appreciated how professional she is and how she wanted to get to know us before even booking her. She is easy to talk to and made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera! She has a calm energy and shoots incredible photos! Our venue was the botanic gardens and she did an exceptional job taking advantage of the natural light and beauty of the place itself! f I had to truly thank only one person throughout the wedding process it would be Jennie, our photographer. Jennie was astounding. We took our engagement photos with Jennie and from the moment we met her over zoom, and in person at our engagement photos, I knew that we were in good hands. Jennie is just one of those people. She made us feel so comfortable during our photos and calmed my nervous energy on the day of our wedding when I was very frazzled. She jumped in and helped when my mom was having trouble bustling my dress and helped deliver items to my groom for photos. The way that she is able to cue you to get the perfect smile, angle, and pose is actually crazy and very natural. Our wedding would not have been the same without Jennie and I am truly beyond grateful for her. She delivered our sneak peek photos within 2 weeks of our wedding and we got our full photo album within 6 weeks! When my partner and I began our photographer search a year out, we had narrowed it down to a select few. We agreed we wanted to support the LGBTQ+ community through our vendors. Jennie quickly captured my attention through her work. The website, her blogs, level of detail, and her photography skills.
Jennie was booked up for the day of our wedding, however she connected us with her associates, Candice and Savannah. We had the chance to schedule a virtual session and meet with Candice. Candice displayed a warm and caring personality that really made us feel comfortable and excited to work with her.
We had our ceremony and reception held at the Space Gallery, Denver. The team did an incredible job on our wedding day. Full of energy, laughter, and joy. We are so happy with how everything turned out. Our photos look stunning, full of vibrant colors, and really captured the best moments. Both my partner and I can be shy around photos, but this team puts you at ease and helps get the awkward feelings out of the way.
We were also able to work with Jennie to have a post-wedding engagement photo shoot. She was able to share some awesome locations around Boulder, CO to capture the Fall season.
I can't say enough good things about Jennie, Candice, and Savannah. We would recommend Jennie Crate Photography to anyone who is in search for professional photographer. Thanks again for all of the work in helping make our wedding day memorable. -

The BEST Wedding Photographer
I genuinely can't say enough good things about Jennie Crate and Candice.
My wife and I have never been great in front of a camera. Candice made us feel SO comfortable, was able to easily get us to be ourselves, and truly captured who we are on the most important day of our lives.
Candice captured so many great photos of not only us, but of our family and friends. She was everywhere taking photos while hardly ever been seen and always fast so we could spend ample time experiencing our wedding. Many guests mentioned how outstanding Candice was throughout the night.
TLDR: Jennie Crate Photography was very organized, communicated exceptionally well, made us feel comfortable, captured our relationship excellently, and truly cared.
Please do yourself a favor and work with Jennie and Candice - you won't regret it. -

We were specifically looking for someone who had experience shooting winter weddings. Jennie had a beautiful portfolio from previous winter weddings (and all others!). We hadn’t even met Jennie in person before our wedding day. When we did, she was instantly warm, friendly, and so easy to get along with. She made us feel super comfortable. I think we were both feeling a little silly and nervous to have a camera focus on just the two of us. Jennie made all of that go away! She had great ice-breakers, fun games so the camera part just melted away. She had a great vision on the end-product and was so dedicated—waist deep in snow for a great shot! I can’t stress enough how much we absolutely adore the entire collection of photos she created. I am just in love with every single one. They each radiate love and fun and feel so natural. We were so lucky to have Jennie capture this day for us!! -

Jennie is the best!
Jennie is AMAZING! We decided to work with her for our Labor Day weekend wedding at Boettcher Mansion with high expectations, and she surpassed all of them! We loved that she focuses on capturing the emotion of the day and the relationships between people. We met with her a few times over zoom before the wedding which helped us get to know one another before the big day, and sent us wedding prep tips via email which were much appreciated. She helped us feel comfortable being the center of attention which allowed us to relax while she took spectacular photos. I would recommend her to anyone! -

The best in colorado!
I honestly cannot say enough amazing, incredible, wonderful things about Jennie and Amelia!!! We worked with Jennie for all of our editing and one of her colleagues, Amelia, did our actual shoot.
I had looked at multiple photographers in the area before reaching out to Jennie’s team. I loved her editing style and knew she’d do excellent work for us! I definitely had a vision in mind for my shoot, and when the location I initially wanted didn’t work, Jennie and Amelia worked tirelessly to suggest alternatives so that I could get the engagement shoot of my dreams. It was so so appreciated and felt so above and beyond. I also had specific shots in mind that I catalogued with Pinterest, and they made sure that everything I was looking for was captured.
My fiancé was not looking forward to this (taking photos isn’t his favorite), but we felt so comfortable and relaxed doing our shoot. Amelia helped guide us into the right and most flattering poses. We had a ball the actual day of!
My final photos are stunning. I’m so incredibly happy I got to work with this team and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for an incredibly photography experience!!! Thank you!!!!! An absolute 10/10! -

To start, in September 2020 we were supposed to do our engagement shoot at Rocky Mountain Park on a Sunday evening during golden hour. 24 hours before we were set to arrive at the park, our original photographer had to cancel our full contract (including the engagement shoot) due to personal reasons but she was kind enough to suggest Jennie as a potential replacement. Within a day, we were signed up and meeting Jennie in Estes Park for our already scheduled photos. We were so impressed with Jennie's willingness to jump in and meet us so we could shoot our dream engagement photos!
From our engagement shoot through the wedding, Jennie was super responsive and eager to connect. She did a wonderful job leading up to the wedding answering our questions/preparing and then day of did an incredible job as well. Jennie and her assistant Ashley made us feel comfortable and excited throughout the day while also giving us precious space to reflect and take in alllll the moments in an organic way. We also are BIG dancers and prioritized having photos taken while on the dance floor. These did NOT disappoint.
We love our wedding photos and will cherish them forever.

We learned about Jennie Crate through a friend and so happy we did! Jennie took care of all of the logistics so we didn't really have to think about anything. She even supported me in planning of the ceremony (bonus!). Amelia made the engagement and wedding shoots so fun. We were worried about looking or feeling awkward, but it never was. It was a very small ceremony so we are happy to have beautiful photos that perfectly captured the day to share with everyone who couldn't be there. -

I started following Jennie on social media when I was blown away by her photography at my friend’s wedding (and the way she seamlessly integrated into the wedding to capture so many lovely moments). Two years ago, my now wife and I jumped at the possibility to “model” for her in a styled shoot at the dry lake beds in Las Vegas, and we were absolutely thrilled with the results! She was wonderful to work with and the pictures were gorgeous, so when it came time for us to choose a photographer for our wedding, the choice was clear.
My wife and I planned an elopement/ micro-wedding in Kauai, Hawaii for Dec. 2020 (hoping beyond hope that COVID would be “under control”) and Jennie was 100% all in! She reached out to her photographer connections in Kauai, finding us a recommended LGBTQ officiant and helping us to craft a timeline that would allow us to have a small ceremony followed by exploring a section of coastline for photography at the perfect time of day (she even gave input on my google doc of locations & logistics)! Fast forward to a week before we were all supposed to leave for Kauai, and we were stopped in our tracks by a reinstated mandatory 14- day quarantine that effectively canceled our Hawaiian elopement!!!
Jennie was immediately on the phone with us to regroup and figure out how she could help us to reimagine our big day (including the possibility of postponing it). We decided to keep our date and shift locations to a state park just outside of my hometown of Las Vegas (Valley of Fire), and Jennie once again was all in! Replanning a wedding within a week was quite the adventure, and Jennie was at the ready every step of the way. We each did our own research on locations in the park and regrouped with favorite spots and possibilities. Jennie made the long drive from CO and spent the day before our wedding hiking & scouting the perfect locations for photographs (and using her photographer prowess to plan a photo trek that would allow us the best light at each landscape feature). She also coordinated with our elopement company to make sure everything was handled, leaving us to simply enjoy the day. WEDDING DAY: Jennie was (as always) amazing! She captured beautiful moments during the ceremony, without our even realizing she was there! After the ceremony, we hiked with Jennie, laughing and enjoying two hours of dedicated photography. It was an absolutely magical day, and the photos speak for themselves. Jennie is the best, and we cannot recommend her highly enough.

A Truly Talented Photographer That Believes in Love
Jennie is absolutely one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. I've known her personally since we worked together 5 years ago and I couldn't wait to book her for my wedding.
Personality -> An extremely kind and friendly professional, Jennie will literally climb a mountain or tree to get the best angle for a picture of you. She is a dedicated person who is an absolute delight to interact with. Responsive and thorough, she is an ideal vendor.
Pricing -> Jennie has levels of pricing that can accommodate anyone. We had originally booked her longest package for 10 hours of shots and an assistant. The wedding was thrown off by COVID-19 and she was extremely flexible and thoughtful in letting us switch to a new 3 hour schedule. She charged us no fee and sent us a new contract right away. Her flexibility saved us tons of stress during a very difficult time. We wanted her there no matter what!
Quality -> During the ceremony, I (the bride) broke out into serious hives that were clearly visible from my neck and down my arms. I was devastated that all the photos would clearly show my stress from the day. Not on Jennie's watch! She spent WEEKS meticulously taking off every hive from those photos and making me seem flawless that day. I couldn't believe it and cried with relief when we got the photos. All the photos were so flattering and had gorgeous lighting. Her photo cues and set ups are fantastic.
She truly celebrates all kinds of love and is an open and loving individual. I wish I could thank her more for the beautiful memories she gave us. With her, we forgot about the change wedding, the pandemic, and the logistical issues of the day and she didn't need to tell us to smile big (we felt it already)!

Literally the best decision we made while wedding planning was hiring Jennie Crate to photograph our wedding and do engagement pictures. She is absolutely amazing, both as a photographer and a person! My now-husband and I were both super nervous to get our pictures taken - we were worried we would be awkward and too posed. For both our engagement and wedding photos, Jennie did a great job making us feel comfortable. She gave us wonderful prompts to help us interact while she was photographing so the photos felt natural, fun, and so meaningful.
At the wedding, not only was she IMMENSELY helpful when we were making last-minute decisions about the rain, but also very kind, supportive, and calm throughout the night. She was great with dealing with our families for family photos after the ceremony. She also did a good job of helping us pose in order to look more natural in photos, rather than looking stiff and uncomfortable. We aren't very good at taking professional pictures, so we really appreciated her helping us to look more natural.
The best part of all, is that the photos turned out amazing. The way she captured the colors and the background were wonderful. You can tell she is a truly talented photographer. We just got the pictures back last week and have already gotten so many compliments on how amazing the photos turned out.

We hired Jennie and her team for our June micro wedding at the Denver Botanic Gardens and SO glad we did! From start to finish, she was phenomenal! We had contacted a few photographers prior to that, that were either non-responsive or we just felt lukewarm about.
My mother-in-law found Jennies website and got in touch. When we looked through her portfolio, we knew she was someone we definitely wanted to work with.
Jennie was super communicative in the days leading up to the wedding and made us feel so at ease. She's also exceptionally organized so we knew exactly what to expect. It was truly one less worry for us during the stressful planning months.
On the day of, we met with her associate photographer Candice, who was an absolute rockstar in every way! She was professional, patient, and just a really kind and funny person. I'm super uncomfortable having my photo taken but Candice put me at total ease. She was a pro at rounding everyone up and was especially great with the young children. I was so thankful to have her there! She truly went above and beyond.
When we got the pictures back, OMG, we were just blown away! Candice is an outstanding wedding photographer. I pretty much cried looking through all of the photos they were so good. From the framing, to the composition, light, and attention to detail — even the editing was perfection. It was worth every single penny.
Just go ahead and end your search now and hire Jennie Crate Photography! Seriously. You won't regret it.
